How much is a 'good' salary in Nigerian private sector employment for a mid career professional?

It was not quite the mile high club after British Airways pilot Mike Beaton allegedly had a cocaine-fuelled party in Johannesburg on a night off and was unable to fly his plane back to London, British media reported.

Beaton, who is married and has a child, was allegedly snorting cocaine off bare bosoms in Joburg just hours before he was due to fly a plane full of passengers back to Heathrow Airport, the Sun reported.

The Jordan Belfort inspired pilot caused a 12-hour delay of the plane that cost British Airways around £100,000 sterling.

This information came to light after Beaton himself bragged about it to a colleague who sounded the alarm and informed the company of what he had done.

He allegedly texted his colleague with the details of his white night.

Based on the text messages between Beaton and his colleague reported in the Sun, it is understood the pilot was partying with two local men, a female Welsh holiday maker and a young Spanish woman.

"I've lost my shirt somewhere and one of the local lads produces a plate with a few lines of coke.

"So then there's a debate about whose chest is the best to do a bump off,” the text messages quoted in The Sun read.

Beaton had to wait for a new flight the next day and was flown back as a passenger.

A replacement first officer for the flight had to be arranged.

Upon arriving at Heathrow, Beaton was tested for drugs and fired when the results came back positive, Sky News reported.

“Safety is always our top priority. The matter was referred to the CAA [Civil Aviation Authority] and this individual no longer works for us,” British Airways was quoted saying.

Besides losing his job, Beaton could be banned from flying in general, should authorities choose to do so after an investigation is conducted.

A lot of pilots fly with hangover from previous nights gigs. That's why I avoid flying on first days of the week.

I don't know if this is normal but I find these four things very attractive on a lady and the fourth one is really very weird.

1. Extra small Nose Stud: Personally I find most nose studs or rings very unattractive but there is something very classy about a lady rocking a pin head extra small nose stud on one side of her nose . Unlike the big nose studs, this one looks very decent and classy.

2. . Leg Chain: I'm a lover of beautiful legs and a lady rocking leg chain on a beautiful leg gives the leg an extra beauty regardless of the skin colour.

3. Waist Chain: I am not really a lover of waist beads because it gives that eerie vibe but waist chains are in a whole different class. Waist chain unlike beads give a very classy and more beautiful look especially the dangling loosed types and it is even more beautiful when a lady puts two different colours.

4. Pierced Tongue : This fifth one is weird but the odogwus will understand wettin dey if a lady with pierced tongue use it to chew their sugar cane. Amazingly, whenever I see a lady with pierced tongue, I fight so hard not to get attracted to them cos of the bad girl vibe they give

Hello house. I'm too angry to type. Been married for 10 years with a kid. 10 long hard years.

The generator finally came on and the brightness was restored. Everything was exactly the way it was. All what I thought I saw must have been figments of my imagination. My enemy finally came back to open the door and found me drenched in sweat and fear beside the door. He was surprised and asked how I was locked inside, but, my mouth was too dry to speak. He later explained that, they did not want some people to have access to the their father, hence, the abrupt locking of the door. I keep saying that many people will just open the bible and read the opinions of Paul when he was writing letters to different churches and now want to enforce Paul letters as the standard of Christianity.
Paul was not even amongst those that were with Christ and understood all what Christ was about. People like peter, James etc. Paul was an apostle like Barnabas and need validation from the disciples of Christ.
Any time you want to see a pastor or anyone cap about the bible they will quickly open to one of the books written by Paul.

Many people don't know that the Hebrew or Jewish religious practice is nothing similar or close to Christianity, its even closer to Islam than christian.

Without data I'm very sure a Israeli can easily switch to practice Islam compared to practicing Christianity.

I know that this will look like demarketing Zenith Banks brand but the truth is that Nigerians tolerate all sort of things from services their are paying real money for.

I have counted the second day that I cannot seamlessly send money from my zenith account. I don't want to start reeling out the untold inconveniences this has caused me.

Last week Sunday, a man wandered the streets of Cape Town cradling a seal. Bystander Sonja Woolff came across the pair and discovered that the man, referred to as Charles, had found the distressed seal at Glen Beach.

Soon, Sammy was in the helpful hands of the Hout Bay Seal Rescue Centre who tirelessly dedicate themselves to these animals. The centre still has Sammy in their care.

A friend just got an international remote job but he is worried about communication with Native English speakers.

He aced the 4 stage interviews and has been given an offer. The pay is good considering the current exchange rate. He was offered $42,000 per annum.

Presently, he works with an audit firm and makes N1.9M NET monthly plus other side businesses.

The role was strictly for Inbound Pre-Qualification and Sales when he applied but at the final stage of the interview, adjustment was made in the JD which includes outbound sales.

Please note he understands and speaks English fluently but he has issues with thick American accents. The position is a Business Development role and it involves conversing extensively with Americans.

Any advise for him?

The law didn't say you must compete nysc before being appointed a minister or even president. As a secondary school leaver that doesn't need to serve, you could be appointed a minister.

This is a ruse, from my little psychology.

The observations I made about this airplane nonplussed me. Items manufactured in Europe, Asia and North America are advertised in the airline's magazine, but one single product they are known for in their country is no where to be found.

I looked for this notable item (its actually the best in the world) and asked an air hostess if they have a sachet, but emphatic no greeted my question.

Another bizarre thing is that their planes that fly to and fro Nigeria are the worst of their planes but Nigerians are the major buyers of the items advertised in their magazine.

I have flown this airline to many countries but their items such as expensive perfumes, diamond bracelets, wrist watches and even exotic wines leave their mobile shelves in quick succession courtesy of Nigerian passengers who readily dole out whiffs of dollar bills to pay. This happens even in the present economic realities in Nigeria.

No other people buy these items advertised in the magazine, not even the citizens of the airline counties look at these items. The worst is the whites- they don't bat their eyelids when those items are being displayed.

This is one major problem we have in Africa.
