Pls. i need Your kind advice on my issue concerning US Visa Application>

i recently posted an opinion, saying:

- i wanted to apply on tourism. just tourism
- male, single, aged 32, work with a security system company that specializes in selling security hardwares to mostly Banks,
- Being employed since February 2010
- Designation: Administrative Manager
- Monthly salary N200,000
- B.Sc. in Business Admin
- Travel history: 2010 travelled to Benin Republic on business
Togo on business
2011 got Chinese visa, but didn't travel
2012 got Chinese visa, travelled on business
2013 got Chinese visa, travelled on business
I was advised not to apply for tourism, but better for conference!!!
Pls. what's your opinion on this, pls. shed more light on this, as am looking forward to May/June 2014

Your date of applying is good...but do not apply at rush hour!

mamawa123: My U.S visa application was denied this morning because of a stupid mistake I made, I never check my passport expiration date properly. On my application I put Nov 2015 but the actual date is Nov 2013. I traveled with it to Canada this past June but never had any problem
I have visited UK (Dec 2012) and Canada (June 2013), and visa to both country are still valid.

After going through my application the Visa officer said sorry that I don't have valid travel passport. The officer said my passport will expire in less than 6 month. She said to apply for a visa I will need to have a passport that will not expire in 6 months from today.

What is the waiting time to reapply for US visa after denial? I will pickup my new passport on Wednesday.

No single document was asked, though I had them. Truth is pray, be confident and maintain eye contact.

chizyb: justwise and imperiouxx pls i need an urgent answer, my brother was refused entry into US last month on code 212(a)(7)(A) (i)(I) and was asked to withdraw his application and his visa cancelled and he was turned back though he has another valid visas like UK on his passport. my sister in New york wants to contact an attorney to take up his case. am asking if anything can be done to reverse the order.
Though he was going for a conference and he works with an oil servicing firm here in nigeria

bluebarz: I need a real candid advice cos a whole lot about this visit visa issue seems confusing a bit to me. First am a newbie still trying to get more knowledge in this. I was recently signed up with an upcoming record label in Kentucky USA, not as an artiste but as a promoter / street member in Nigeria, my cousin (white guy) is the star artiste in the label, recently we got into talks and they want me to come over to the states, my cousin is ready to provide an invitation letter and all the accommodation details I'll need for the embassy but the real deal is I aint going for just a visit, I am going over to be stay, I thought about the label getting me a H1B visa but they are still in the registration process with the US government. Please I want to know if its advisable to use the Visit visa for entry first as I intend to work in the states upon arrival and can I upon entry find a way to workout staying beyond the 3months stay period without immigration issues? I have pictures of me and my cousin when he came to Nigeria, I don't want to risk rejection, so I want to be guided properly and I forgot to mention, I just graduated, I have served my NYSC and I have houses here with tenants living in them which I manage on behalf of my father. Do I stand a chance of been accepted for a visit and if so how do I go about the process, sorry if am taking u back, I just need clarifications.

I also own a furniture manufacturing business with an impressive turnover, would it be wise to talk about it. The company is a limited liability with an impressive income.

Good chance is when you re married and travel together before then you can have good chance of getting the Visa but give shot of it because Visa is by favor.

You have very slim chance of getting the Visa but God favor change story sometimes

Finally picked my B1/B2 2yrs Visa today and here is my experince .
In my appointment i filled B1/B2 and in my DS form i filled B1 so that i can use it after conference.

Me - Hotel and mention the same.

VO - how long are you staying in US?
ME - 5days

VO - what do you do ?
ME - Managing so so company

VO - how many people work for you in your company?
ME - mention it

VO - where have you travelled to before ?
ME - (UK)4x, (France)3x,(Germany)2x,(Belgium)2x,(Spain)once,(Turkey)2x,(South African)2x and Malaysian once .

immediately i mention Germany the white guy start typing seriously and wait for me to mention all before said Sir pick up your Visa in three days time .
then i asked the white guy was that all and said yes ,just can't imagine i can have simplest interview look like Heathrow POE questions. NO docuement checked

You re right on point because i witness another one said he want to buy car in USA with previous receipt of cars purshased before but got refused even with huge evidence of previous receipt cars bought the VO took break and asked supervisor inside again before he refuse the man .

My Visa is approved today and i will share my experience by thursday when i pick my passport.

I was adviced to claim being married to foster my home tie but i neva did because i didnt want to lie,hence,i was refused. Now i av another interview scheduled for Wednesday 6th march...but nw am confused cos i dnt wanna risk rejection on no family tie again as being single and was made to knw i need tell some lies if wanna succeed...pls fastlink, wats ur take?do i claim being married or not in order to boost my chances on that. when did you regsitered your business, when was your last interview and how old is your business( what do you claime your were doing on your last interview)be careful with your information on changes in your application ( DS form).

sholatech: I was interviewed in Lagos. The conference is international, called African Economic Forum organised by Columbia Business School. I still think I was denied because the program was starting on same date I was attending the visa interview and maybe visa cannot be issued instantly for me to leave in the evening by arik, who are also co-sponsors if the program.and if I nay ask, do they Always send email stating why they refused giving the visa?

Before you reapply add more travel history to your passport.Goodluck

sholatech: Nice thread here. Had my first visa interview at American Embassy today. Was invited on Monday February 25th to be a panelist at a conference in New York. Felt time ss short but agent I used asked me to give it a try and he got me March 1 2013 appointment date. I was asked what I doz told them I run my own firm and I also represent some multinationals. Also asked which countries I have visited and told the officer only Dubai and many countries in west Africa. She checked my passport and then asked purpose of my trip which I said was to attend a conference which starts same day and ends the following day and hence I will just spend few days.and return back. She asked for the sponsor and I replied myself and also partly by the organisers. She read the invitation letter and then answered that it is not applicable for non-immigrant visa application and i will be sent an email on reasons why. Since its my first timez don't know except maybe the conference will end the next day and I was just interviewed?she never bothered to check my bank statement and any personal document. Only the invitation letter and it ended there!!

Abuja or Lagos ? Also make sure your conference is international next time .
