Attit: Which variety? You should know that any apple seed that grows and bears fruit would not give you same fruit or taste as main fruit which the seeds came from. The seeds always give a new variety. However, this seeds came from Fuji variety. |

ekerensima: ah!! we never quite got past that phase, we kept them there although expecting green sprouts but it all went south Next time put dampen the paper towel or tissue with seeds inside. Put it in a tight container inside the freezer for 3wks+. Monitor at the end of each week. If no sprout, transfer container to a cool dark place for 5days and monitor. To check for viable seeds put them in a bowl of water. Any seed that floats is bad, the sunken seeds are healthy. |

They say this plant doesn't grow in tropical climate. Let's prove them wrong. After so many tries then I got a root... I may have gotten the hang of it. Phase 1: Put the seeds in dormancy (winter) to activate embryo. Then it should grow a root. Phase 2: Nursery (WIP) Photo 1: The surprise root (after 4 long wks). Photo 2: Roots grew longer ready for nursery transplant. Photo 3: The transplant.

PAQ: I own a 2014 Corolla. Its about 63k mileage, i just did the first maintenance on Nigerian soil, was looking for the transmission dipstick to check if it may be short or needs drain & refill but didnt find it. After alot of research online, i found out its the dreaded CVT! And no dipstick!
I am finding it difficult to get the original Toyota oil, are there any other brands worth checking? I am so scared of CVTs that i just want to have the oil drained and refilled asap for rest of mind.
From what i read the safest schedule is every 30k miles after the first 60kmiles. I love my rolla, i dread transmission issues. cc: Gazzuzz |

Car Talk › Re: Japanese Cars Cost More To Maintain Than European Cars by snipesdam(m): 7:26pm On Nov 22, 2020 |
By default almost all cars in 9ja are off road cars.
There is truth in Ops statement. I've done a research on this hub issue and found out that VW hubs are better designed to keep water out of the bearings and toyota hub design isn't better at preventing water from entering the bearings. You can look it up.
Also, our road conditions here in Nigeria is a mess for light weight cars like corolla. Even the owners manual states that if you ply bumpy roads often you should always check your suspension parts (that goes for the ball joints and tie rods).
Those who drive Benz and BMW won't have to abuse it in order not to hurt their pockets. As a Benz or BMW owner, you're always careful about the potholes and the water to swim daily in 9ja. I have a Mini Cooper which I wouldn't try such with. A corolla user would most certainly get the job done through all the pot holes, mud, water and still come out fine.
If you have a light weight car and you try as much as you can to avoid pools of water and muddy roads, you have higher chance that your hub and suspension parts will last longer.
Still on the hub matter, replacing your bearings alone is cheaper but the part is fake and it won't take you more than a month before the howling begins (Fake Chinese knock offs). You're better off buying toks hubs. |
