coolguyz:You hit the nail on the head from the highlighted part It would be interesting to see what happens btw JT and Bridge in tomorrows match coincidentally at the Bridge. 1. Would they shake hands prior to the match? 2. For example, if chelsea is defending a corner and jt is called to man mark wayne and he fouls him or makes such foul during open play. How would they react? What reaction would we get from their team-mates, the crowd and the referee? 3. 12:45pm; kickoff; one not to miss. |

Interesting analysis. Dont over do it though; Yar'adua may well have arrived and receiving treatment at the rock as we have been told. All these conspiracy theories dey cause headache. |
OYB_MEND:But then the US has always been Nigerias' largest crude oil trading partner even when most of our leaders since independence have come from the north. We dont have a choice but to trade with America. Where else would we head to? |

forpeace:Next time learn to spell properly before posting or have a dictionary by yourside I am no Fashola employee but i and several of my friends love the guy and what he has done for Lagos. |
The problem is you guys read headlines and start blasting away at your keyboards spilling venom. The guy said muslims should wage a holy war not only against switzerland but against Zionism and foreign aggression. The western media cleverly left out the latter two. This is the same way they twisted the words of the Iranian leader when he said he wanted zionism to be wiped from the face of the earth and the west said he wanted Isreal wiping off. By holy war, he did not call for people to take up arms and ammunition but to have a diplomatic stand off as he has shown by denying entry visas, withdrawing some of his diplomats along with billions of Libyan dollars in Swiss banks. This is sanctions against the west and Ironically a breadth of fresh air from what is the norm that is sanction by the west against Libya/the developing world. Dont get me wrong i disagree with most of the colonels policies especially treatment handed out to African immigrants in his country, but he is spot on with this. |
Eastbay:Nice one. I am not exactly an England fan but feel sorry for them. They had a blistering run during the qualification and were already being tipped to lift the world cup and now this. It is certainly a massive distraction and despite Waynes withdrawal a good number of the players would be secretly displeased with Terry. The camp will remain more or less split. In addition Waynes absence means a gaping hole in their left back position. Cole even if he recovers from his injury is unlikely to be fully match fit by the world cup. Imagine if England gets knocked out by a cross from the left back position Terry would be made a scape goat; trust the British press. Either way this new twist has further heaped more pressure on JTs shoulders. |
Illusion and Tudor are societal rejects intent on derailing threads and launching personal assaults as they have nothing intelligent to contribute. They know they have no chance if we have to debate substance. The only language they understand is vile, sickening abuses. These people are on the verge of a schizophrenic breakdown and their future is certainly in a psychiatric unit. ![]() duduspace:Your arguement is quite balanced and thoughtful. Although my sympathy goes to the guy hence by opinion. |
ElRazur: NnamdiN:You guys need your brains rebooting. Balls of steel if you ask me to stand up to imperialist Europe. |
@ Beaf You must be one of the high ranking officer in terrorist mend by now. A just reward as chief propaganda officer. ![]() |
Tudór:First of all you have shown that your parents have pumped all their money they used in training you into the drain; you lack manners and your IQ appears abysmal and that can extend to your matrimonial home if you are not careful. I pray your best friend sleeps with the father of your children for you to fully appreciate what wayne is passing through. You hurriedly highlighted two sentences before pouring insults. You failed to read the whole thread. A right thinking human will do some personal research on the internet about this story before coming here to spill any filth. What a disgrace you are. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Anyway JT betrayed his trust and acted shamefully letting down not only his close friends but his wife, family, and fans, They were close family friends and she is the mother of his child. JT started approaching the girl even before she split from Wayne. |

The United Nations AIDS programme has said that Nigeria records at least 1,000 new HIV infections every day. A United States-based Nigerian news agency, Empowered Newswire, in a report on Thursday, said that UNAIDS declared that three million people were living with the condition in Nigeria. According to the news agency, UNAIDS said, “There is a growing demand for access to treatment and prevention services in Nigeria, which can only be met by strengthening the current partnership between global, national and local partners.” Commenting on the figures, the Director-General of the National Agency for AIDS Control, Prof. John Idoko, said that there was no cause for alarm. “New infections in the country are between 370,000 and 380,000 annually. If you divide the figures by 350 days, it will be within that range,” he said. The Minister of Health Minister, Prof. Babatunde Osotimehin, commended UNAIDS for mobilising the participation of non-governmental organisations, faith-based entities and the private sector to support the national AIDS response. “This has helped us gain momentum in rolling out access to services. “We still have challenges. We are aware that resources are limited, but we must meet the expectations of the people we have mobilised,”he said. Meanwhile, ahead of the 2010 World Cup, South Africa on Thursday announced that the supply of condoms would be doubled between June and July. According to Daily News, the country‘s figure of HIV/AIDS stood at 5.7 million, more than any other country in the world. Medical authorities in South Africa said they want to make sure there was plenty around in time for the games, which will be held in June and July. “There’s going to be a large number of people who will be descending onto the country,” said Victor Ramathesele, general medical officer for South Africa‘s 2010 organising committee. “There’s going to be a spirit of festivity and there could be a more than usual demand for measures such as condoms. So there are measures in place to ensure that the condom supply is going to be ramped up during this tournament,” he added. After years when the South African government failed to provide lifesaving HIV/AIDS drugs, the nation now has the world’s biggest anti-retroviral programme. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201002264425870 |
PA, Abuja (Nigeria) Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it would adjust its timetable for the conduct of early elections in 2010 to give ample time for settlement of objections. Professor Maurice Iwu, Chairman of INEC, made the announcement on Thursday at a public hearing on bills to amend the provisions of the 1999 Constitution in Abuja, organised by the House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution. He said the bill would give the commission longer time between election period and the swearing-in of elected officials to the various positions. “We believe that the period will be more than enough for the commission to be able to go through post-election litigations,’’ he said. He said the workability of the proposed bill in 2010 and 2011 would depend largely on the ability of the commission to adjust its timetable to cope with the exercise. “I want to state without mincing words that if we agree as a country to have the elections earlier, the commission will adjust accordingly,’’ he said. Iwu said it would be dangerous to keep elected officers waiting for six months before they assume office pending litigations emanating from the elections. He suggested a 90 to 100 days period within which litigations could be concluded to avert confusion. “There is a danger for an elected president or governor to wait for six months in a country where there is massive lust for power. “We may agree in principle to shift the date but a period not more than 90 days and at most 100 days as against 280 days suggested by some persons,” he said. http://www.apanews.net/apa.php?page=show_article_eng&id_article=118862 |
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, is expected to announce the new technical adviser that will lead the national team to South Africa, barely 14 weeks to the commencement of the World Cup. The announcement will climax a week-long screening process, which has already seen four coaches interviewed, as the search for a capable replacement for Shuaibu Amodu. The quartet of Bruno Metsu, Ratomir Djukovic, Glenn Hoddle, and Sven-Goran Eriksson have all faced the nine-man interview panel instituted by the NFF, and Sweden’s former coach, Lars Lagerback, will be in the spotlight today to complete the process. Former England manager, Eriksson, who was not originally shortlisted for the job, has played his way into the situation and has also followed the line of Hoddle to heap praises on the talents available at Nigeria’s disposal for the World Cup, despite fears expressed by football followers across the country. Fans had voiced the need to replace Amodu following the Eagles’ lacklustre performance that led to a bronze medal finish at the Nations Cup in Angola, but Eriksson, like Hoddle, insists the Eagles have the quality to put up a strong representation in South Africa. Useful experience “I think the squad is talented and I’ll like to work with the team. I love the warm weather here and I think my experience with England will be useful in leading the team (Eagles) to do well in the World Cup in South Africa,” says the Sweden-born coach who also had a coaching stint with Mexico, Manchester City, Roma and Benfica, among other teams. Considering the federation’s target of semi-final qualification in South Africa, Eriksson must have attempted to convince the NFF panel, during his interview, that he could break his quarter final jinx if he is given the opportunity to lead the Eagles. He failed to lead England beyond the last eight in both the 2002 and 2006 World Cups while it was the same story of a quarter final exit for the Three Lions in the 2004 European Championship in Portugal. The executive committee of the NFF will meet to discuss and ratify the recommendations of the interview panel today, a decision that should mark the beginning of the Eagles preparation for the Mundial. Our Eagles have already bungled the chance to test their might against a South American opposition ahead of their opening game against Argentina in South Africa, following the failure of the NFF to seal a previously planned March 3 friendly with Paraguay, who are also featuring at the World Cup. Instead, a friendly with Congo has been arranged to accommodate home-based potentials as well as a few young Nigerian players playing in Europe. The new Eagles coach, who is expected to get a short-term deal covering the World Cup period, will be on hand to see the friendly billed for the Abuja National Stadium. http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Sport/Football/5531743-147/story.csp |
