Hello everyone,

Please does anyone have a format for LOE? and also, does it need to be signed by me or not?

Also, please what document am I to upload in the 'Legal Name Change Document' section in the case of change of name due to marriage?

Thanks guys.

Thanks, boldinc. My hubby will be accompanying me to Canada. Does this matter?

boldinc:
Your husband can transfer the bulk sum into your account. He will not need to submit his bank statement... But he should write an LOE explaining he did the transfer and why.

You should not have any problems.

Hello guys,

Please I need clarification concerning Gift of deed. I have the option of having either hubby or dad transfer the settlement funds to me as gift of deed.

The problem is that neither hubby or dad have had the money in their account for up to 3 months, and I read somewhere that the funds should have been in the account for at least 6 months.

Is this true? Does the donor have to produce his/her bank statement?

Does anyone know any other option?

Kindly assist please.

Thanks.

Hello people,

Please can anyone who has done their medicals after ITA or already gotten PR and landed in Canada confirm if at any point in time Canada immigration will require DNA tests to prove parent-child relationship?

Thanks guys.

Hello guys,

Is it compulsory to add your former supervisor's complimentary card to your reference letter?
My former employer has refused to give me a complimentary card, saying because the letter is addressed 'To whom it may concern' that they can get company contact details from the company letterhead.

I honestly don't understand why it's such a big deal
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by socialmisfit: 2:03pm On Jan 25, 2017
Hello everyone,

I got a reference letter from a former employee, and while I wrote that i worked 45 hours per week for the company in my EE profile which can no longer be edited, my former employee wrote 40 hours in the reference letter given to me.

Please I hope this won't be an issue, or be classified as giving the wrong info.

Also, the job title i listed in my EE profile (finance officer) is different from what is in my reference letter (finance administrator), though the job duties and responsiblities is that of a finance officer. The reason i didn't put finance administrator in my profile is because the job title is not included in any NOC.

Please I want to know if i can change my job title to what's in my reference letter in my ITA profile, or if it doesn't matter.

Kindly assist.

Thanks

Thanks so much, boldinc

boldinc:
If you can get your supervisor to write it simply as 'To whom it may concern", that would be perfect.

Thanks so much Blackbuddy for breaking it down, I'll also definitely check the links.

God bless

Blackbuddy:
Your best bet is to start the process of adopting the child. The fact that the process may be long should not deter you from doing the right thing. Canada will not allow you move that child if he is not released to you through adoption process where you become the child's legal guardian and hold the papers to prove this. Start the process and include the adoption application papers to your application so that you pursue both PR visa and adoption at the same time. You can also fast track the adoption process as the boy is your husband's relative and this is Nigeria where the 'right incentive in the right place' will help you get it fast. Once adoption is complete, you update the Visa Office. Getting a family lawyer to aid you in the process will be a smart move, nairaland is not the best place to find advice on this sensitive issue.

Check out these links for more info on adoption process, http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/articles/adoption-laws-of-lagos-state-practice-and-procedure.html

All the best.

Hello everyone,

Please I need the advice of Lawyers and Legal advisers in the house.
How do I go about becoming a legal guardian for a minor? The minor is my husband's brother. He is 8 years old and we've been responsible for his upkeep for about 5 years. This is because I want to include him in my ITA application as my dependant/child, or if I can't claim him as a dependant, can my husband do that?

Will this fly with CIC? or do we have to go the adoption route? The fear we have concerning the adoption route is the time it will take to process, and we have less than 90 days now to submit our documents. Also, it seems going the family class sponsorship route means he can't be included in the info being provided about the rest of the family so he would have to wait in Nigeria pending the time the family class sponsorship is being processed, which CIC calculated as 32 months.

Please can anyone suggest an easier alternative?

Thank you.

Hello dupsyshoo,

Thanks for the reply.

We'll look into the adoption thing. I just pray it won't be too complicated.

Thanks a lot.

God bless.

dupyshoo:
I think you might have to fully adopt him before you can claim he is your child.

Hi vcole,

So sorry for the late reply. I'll look into the family class sponsorship on the website, thanks a lot.

For my timeline:

Work Experience: over 3 years
ECA profile created: 22nd June 2016 (OND & HND certificates sent)
IELTS result: 17th August 2016 (L-9.0, R-7.5, W-7.5, S-7.0)
ECA report issued: 29th August 2016 (ND:- Diploma-2 years, HND:- Diploma-3 years, Postgraduate certificate-1 year)
EE profile created: 20th September 2016 (CRS points-466)
ITA received: 11th January 2017

Hope this is what you meant by timeline.

vcole:
Congrats. pls share your timeline.
its his brother and not his child so to the best of my knowledge, he cannot claim him as a dependant child. This looks more to me like a dependant that can be sponsored under "family class" I suggest you read more about family class sponsorship on the cic website.

Hello everyone,

Big congrats to everyone who got their ITA yesterday! I finally got mine too! grin

Please I have a question, i don't know if anyone can help me shed a light on this situation.
My husband has a younger brother (8 yrs old) that he has been taking care of for about 5 years now, even though their father is still alive and mother is deceased, but he (the father) has signed a sworn affidavit (Consent of custody) with the High Court releasing all responsibilities of the brother (food, clothing, shelter, schooling, etc) to my husband. Can we claim his brother as a dependent child when filling the forms on PR? or can we only claim our birth children? There was a space where we were asked how many children we had, and we don't know if we can include him since we already see him as our child.

Kindly help to clarify please.

God bless.

If your husband can get the money in your account soon enough, you might not need a gift of deed, as ITA for your score might not come thru in a couple of months, following the recent trend.

However, if it does come earlier, I believe he can simply do the gift of deed, even if it is after you get an ITA.
Okay, Thanks a lot for your help

Hello guys,

Please experts in the house, I need your advice.

I'm in the EE pool and my CRS points is 466, and I'm very hopeful of getting an ITA soon, all the other required documents can be gotten fairly easily, but I don't have the POF in my account yet, the money is not yet available but my hubby is working on raising the money to transfer to me as Gift of deed.

Now the question I want to ask is, is it too late to just be getting the money transferred to my account as Gift of Deed after getting an ITA? Or should I have had the money in my account for the last 3 months as required, regardless of it being a gift or not?

I'll really appreciate a response, guys.

Thanks a lot

For the OND, select two years postsecondary while for the HND, select 'two certificates of which one is for a minimum of 3years'
Thanks a lot..How about the number of years to fill in the complete/full academic years? It's a little confusing because I'm not sure if i should include my 1-year Industrial Training to the no of years i spent in HND or OND, and the Level of Education according to the school transcript? or can i fill in the Level of Education according to ECA in that space also?

Thank you

Hello everyone,

Are there any HND graduates who have completed their EE profile in the house? I need some clarifications please...

When filling the Education History in the Study and Languages section of the EE profile, what should I choose in the Level of Education for both OND and HND?

This is because my OND was evaluated by WES to be Diploma (two years), and the HND as Diploma (three years) and a postgraduate certificate (one year), so I'm a little confused on what to fill in the complete/full academic years, Level of Education and the Level of education (Canadian equivalent) shown on Education Credential Assessment (ECA) report to avoid misrepresentation.

Thanks for your help, guys.

Hello all,

I am to create an account on CIC, and I saw this;

Create an account or sign in
With your account, you can apply, pay your fees and check your status for some applications.

You can either create an account using your online banking login (Sign-In Partner) or a Government of Canada login (GCKey). Learn more about Sign-In Partner and GCKey.

Sign in to your account using:

Sign in Partner (SecureKey Concierge), which uses your online banking information or
GCKey, the Government of Canada credential.
Continue to Sign-In Partner

What does this mean please?

thanks

I wonder what kind of scanty summary this is. Nonetheless, it should be appropriate to choose "two or more post secondary qualification". Luckily, one of which is 3years.
Thanks a lot @Garykasparov...i got a little confused when i saw the summary too.

Cheers..

Hello everyone,

I just got my ECA report from WES and here's my report:

CANADIAN EQUIVALENCY SUMMARY:
Diploma (two years), diploma (three years), and postgraduate
certificate (one year)

Using the CRS points calculator, what does this equate to on the level of education please?

Hello guys,

I'm about to create my express entry pool profile. The problem is I have 4 years work experience in two different NOCs but about 2 years work experience in each NOC (Finance & HR). Is it possible to claim 3 or more years work experience while creating my profile? or can I only claim the no of years work experience (1-2 years) for only one of the NOCs?

Please help guys.

Thanks.
