Phones / Android Subscription Codes And Data Plans For March 2017 by Sodia(m): 4:47am On Mar 09, 2017
In the Article, i will be list the some android subscription codes and data plans, basically these data plans are the best and affordable plans to go for a in march 2017

I will be very brief on the best and cheapest internet data plans which I hope they really nice for you to enjoy in March 2017.

Android Subscription Codes And Data Plans In March 2017

Airtel Data Plans For Android

Airtel Tripple surf

This data plan is what in vogue now, for the reason that it gives you up to 100% bonus on data activation, purchase, and renewals. In other words, it rewards customers for being loyal to the company.

It is not a data plan on its own. It only gives you the bonus on your data subscription based on your current Airtel data plan. The Percentage of data you get is dependent on your current Airtel data plan.

To Activate the Triple Surf offer

Just dial *141#

Select option 2 in the menu “Triple Surf Offer”, you will see the list of applicable bundles

Activate any of the applicable data bundles and you will begin to enjoy your bonus

Airtel Double Data Offer

The Airtel Double data offer gives you 3GB for N1000, 7GB for N2000, 18GB for N4000. You get free extra 1.5GB when you activate 1.5GB for N1000, extra 3.5GB when you activate 3.5GB for N2000, but the only problem we have with Airtel is their SIM eligibility issues on their numerous surprises.

To subscribe for the Airtel Double Data Offer

Dial *496# to get 3GB for N1,000

Dial *437*2# to get 7GB for N2,000

Dial *438*1# to get 18GB for N4,000

The validity period is 30 days.

It's unfortunate that not all Airtel SIMs will be able to benefit from this Airtel double data offer. It's meant for those who got an SMS from Airtel only.
Airtel Weekend Bundle

How to subscribe for the Airtel weekend bundle.

I don't know the reason why people abandoned Airtel Weekend Bundle when the subscription code is active and the plan is still ok for downloading. Remember that you can get 7GB for just N700 every weekend, with the Airtel Weekend Bundle.

1024MB (1GB), for just N100 every day, dial *474*1# to activate. Dial 140# to check data balance.
MTN Data Plans

MTN normal data plan still remains unaltered, simply dial *131*1# to choose your preferred MTN data plan.

Don't forget that you can be getting double of your MTN data subscription (100% data bonus) via IMEI Tweaking. The double data offer will last for 6month.
Glo Data Plans

No doubt Glo is the best when it comes data, you can get titanic data for the lesser price, though you may not be able to use it the way you want due to their imbalance GPRS network, but is like their network is a little bit better now.
Glo 3G/4G LTE Plan

N500 = 1.6GB, valid for 7 days

N1000 = 3.2GB, valid for 30 days

N2000 = 7.5GB, valid for 30 days

N2500 = 10GB, valid for 30 days

N3000 = 12GB, valid for 30 days...and many more

Even with just N500 Glo will give you 1.6GB. Simply dial *777# and follow the prompt to subscribe to your preferred Glo Data.
Etisalat Data Plans

When other Networks like Glo are busy increasing the Data Volume of their Data Plans, Etisalat is busy on the other end increasing the Data Price of their own Data Plan.

Etisalat 500MB cost N500 to subscribe dial *229*2*12#

Etisalat 1GB cost N1000 to subscribe dial *229*2*7#

Etisalat 1.5GB cost N1200 to subscribe dial *229*2*7#

Etisalat data plan via third party sellers is still a better option for those who need huge Etisalat data for the lesser price, but I'm short of words in referring you to any third party data seller at this moment.

That's All.

Phones / 5 Helpful Tips To Secure Any Android Phone From Threats by Sodia(m): 12:03am On Dec 03, 2016
Android phones of today are vulnerable to various security loopholes, hacks and damage. The reasons why there is always software updates or OTA upgrade from a smartphone phone manufacturer most at times is as a result of a bridge in security, expired firmware of the phone which can cause huge security bridges and make phones to malfunction.

5 Helpful Tips To Secure Any Android Phone From Threats

The phone manufacturer makes sure the firmware is always up to date, this is especially conversant with popular, most used phones that can easily get pirated by some tech hackers and geeks.

The simple truth is that not all of this smartphone or android phone can be upgraded most stops in a particular version of upgrade while some can continue being updated when there is a new upgrade data from the phones manufacturer. Now if we may ask, what happens to those android phones that cannot take any more upgrades and are already vulnerable to attacks by some application providers. Or phones that have security issues where the phones software is pirated.

Most times the best and easy thing we android users do when our smartphones start misbehaving in such manner is to restore factory default. But the thing is when we restore factory default, our phone is back to normal and after sometime, those things start coming back and the android phone begins to misbehave once more.

Well when this issue of vulnerability attacks continue coming back the best step to take is to flash the android phone with a new ROM or its original ROM, so that a newer version of the phone would be seen, and so all old stuffs disturbing the phone would go away.

The normal saying goes that prevention is better than cure, of course this will be true and be of reckoning when foe example you cannot get the custom ROM of that particular android phone giving you problem, which you might result in selling the phone or throwing it somewhere to get another. My point is that you can prevent this attacks and security vulnerability from even coming across your android phone, thats where prevention comes in.

This vulnerabilities are usually common with Android 4.0+ to 4.4 android phones where so applications have been worked for.

In this article, i have decided to share with you a few tips to prevent such android vulnerabilities from your android phone. So i will be giving you 5 helpful tips to secure your android phone. With this tips i am sure it would be of help to your smartphone security from any vulnerabilities.

Just to drop this, due to the amount of personal information stored on these phones, hackers have now shifted their interest from desktop attacks to mobile phone attacks. While the well-known vulnerabilities such as ransomware, phishing, malware and spam are still the same, smartphone users have to deal with a host of new threats like theft and unnecessary app permissions.

Now, how do you keep your smartphone safe from such vulnerabilities and threats.
5 Helpful Tips To Secure Any Android Phone From Threats

1. Secure Your Lock Screen

Yes, one of the tips that usually helps is securing your phones lock screen. This might seem like common sense, yet the majority of smartphone users do not even have a PIN on their lock screen. Some very confident people will never lose their phone or that if they do, they can remotely wipe it. Though it is good to have a positive mindset, sometimes things happen that are out of your control. Something as simple as a PIN or other lock screen methods is a very effective way to deter criminals from hacking into your device should it be lost or stolen.
2. Sideloading Apps

Its very important to avoid sideloaded apps, what are sideloaded apps - they are apps installed in APK format onto an Android device which is usually downloaded from websites other than Google Play, usually through a computer. The more reason we always prefer to go for android phones over other brands like apple is because of the open market. You can find apps outside of the Google Play store and install them on your phone. While this might sound convenient, especially if the app isn’t available on the store, it makes your phone that much more vulnerable.

This is the main way many hackers gain access to a victim’s smartphone. They offer a pirated version of an app and then infect it with malware. Once downloaded, Android doesn’t check the app for any viruses or other concerning features. Even if you have security apps installed, many do not scan every app installed. Those that come at a particular cost should be avoided.

The steps to take when planning to install an app outside the Google Play Store is to download the apps from trusted sources such as the application manufacturer website.
3. Use VPN - Virtual Private Network

VPNs aren’t just for desktops anymore. You can also take advantage of the service for your mobile device. In fact, it’s more important to use it for your smartphone as you will connect to more insecure networks than on your desktop or laptop. Consider how often you have connected to public WiFi. It is a great portal for hackers to gain access to your information, as public networks are not very secure. Using a VPN can encrypt your data to keep you anonymous from potential cybercriminals making your information difficult (if not impossible) to read if they intercept it.
4. Encrypt Your Phone

If you want to keep your information safe, the best thing to do is physically encrypt the data on your phone. This protects all of the data on your phone until you put in your decryption password. You don’t even need an app to do this either. Simply navigate to your security settings and turn on encryption. Before you decide to take this step keep in mind the following:
Full device encryption will slow down your performance. While not noticeable on higher-end phones, it could pose a problem for those using budget phones. You cannot undo encryption. If you want to turn it off, you will have to restore your phone to its factory settings.
5. Manage App Permissions

Whenever you download an app from Google Play, a pop-up window appears to show you what the app wants access to. Many people do not pay attention to these permissions. Taking that into consideration, it’s an important step to verify that the app does not require more access to your phone than necessary.

Generally, most apps have a good reason to access certain facilities. A messaging app might want access to your camera and contacts so you can take pictures and send to your friends and family. A game might require your location to compete against other people in the area. With that said, if you can’t find a reason an app needs to access these facilities, then it’s a good idea not to install it. Ask yourself, does a currency converter need access to my contacts?

Android Marshmallow also gives you further control over app permissions. You can control what they can and cannot access even after you install it.

Of course, the best way to keep your Android smartphone secure is to take the necessary personal precautions such as not downloading suspicious apps.

Hopefully this article would help you protect your android phone from now on.

Phones / Tax On Calls By CBN Governor - Nigeria Telecoms Companies Kick Against It by Sodia(m): 3:01pm On Nov 28, 2016
I would be starting this article from the view that i never intended writing on it at all because it was such a thing i saw as illegitimate. Maybe some other countries in the world maybe doing such, but not here in Nigeria where things can be a little different, and the best thing you can think of is putting tax on calls made by innocent Nigerian. Saying any calls made above 3 minutes will be taxed a particular amount.. Really?

This rift actually started some days back when the Nigeria CBN - Central Bank of Nigeria - Governor in person of Mr. Godwin Emefiele at an Annual Bankers' Dinner on Friday, November 25th 2016. When he came out to make it clear in the dinner occasion that the CBN would start to tax all calls made by phone users above 3 minutes. Stating clearly that it could generate an additional N100 billion annually...

Quoting Him:
“There are several ways we can raise additional revenue to finance the increased expenditure that is needed to engender fast and sustainable growth in the economy. I think we can consider introducing a negligible telecom surcharge to be entirely borne by the initiator of a call. In order to protect the poor and vulnerable amongst us, we could structure it to only take effect after the third minute of talk.
Some analyses have indicated that the government could earn about N100 billion per annum from this alone.”

But now, the telecoms operators in Nigeria have come to speak against the 3 minutes tax on call by the CBN Governor, that this is economically wrong. The President of ATCON - Association of Telecommunications Companies Of Nigeria - which is a body that comprises of all telecoms companies in Nigeria; in person of Olusola Teniola came out to tell the media on behalf of all telecoms operators that such suggestion made by the CBN Governor to put tax on calls is economically and technically wrong.

Mr. Olusola Teniola said and i quote...
"That the stakeholders in the telecommunications industry were not consulted on the issue before the pronouncement. “Contrary to the CBN governor’s belief, it is the poor people who make more calls than the rich.
“So, the proposal is not targeted at the middle or higher class. “I have not seen any industry where you don’t want people to use your products or services more.
“We want people to be speaking longer... "

He added;
"That the CBN governor’s proposal that people should cut their phone calls after three minutes had not been founded on any theory.
“In fact, you will now see that people will be cutting their calls.
“It does not make sense, not only technically but economically, to apply that kind of thinking as a tool or solution out of the present economic recession, it is not going to work,’’

Then further stated...
"That ATCON had already proposed to the Senate a one per cent VAT increase across all sectors. This is a more realistic measure toward getting more revenue for the government and ICT industry had been envisaged to help the country gets out of recession."
“But the sector should not be killed with over taxation,’’

He made it clear that if it was for the generation of revenue to finance the increased expenditure that could engender fast and sustainable growth of the economy, then some suggestions can be taken from him such as:

“I think we can consider introducing a negligible telecom surcharge to be entirely borne by the initiator of a call in order to protect the poor and vulnerable amongst us.
“We could structure it to only take effect after the third minute of talk.“Some analyses have indicated that the government could earn about N100 billion per annum from this alone.
“Obviously, this surcharge will mainly be borne by middle and upper class people since I do not know many poor people who make calls for more than three minutes,’’ - he suggested.

So folks you have heard it all, what do you have to add?

Smartphones of today have really evolved in so many ways, statistics have shown that the most used smartphones in areas except the UK United Kingdom or the US United States is the Android Smartphone, of course every tech lover of 2016 wants to have an android device, one way or the other you may agree with me that though in comparison Apple/iPhone products are the best in terms of functionality and user experience, but still Android still dominate the smartphone market. Many have said this is because it is cheap and easy to get, its parts are cheap to replace anytime, anywhere and of a certainty, this is absolute true, Android smartphone parts are cheap and can be found in most tech markets/stores.

Tips On How To Make Android Smartphones Battery Last Longer

Before i forget Blackberry is also a smartphone right? Lol, seemingly blackberry is almost out of the market, sincerely in countries here in Africa like Nigeria where i come from, blackberry usage has really reduced over time, this depletion in the usage of blackberry smartphones started at the inception of Android smartphones some few years back!

One of the most important specification/feature tech lovers of today look out for in any smartphone is the battery life. This shows you how important the battery of a phone is and meaning its a very significant aspect of any smartphone. These days, it is very rare to see a smartphone battery last for upto 24hrs without being charged, this reason is not because the battery of the smartphone is bad or perhaps some things have gone wrong with the phone, this is mostly because of the usage of smartphones today by users.

So i this post i have decided to highlight some useful tips that one can use to make your smartphone battery last a little longer, so as not to always charge it!
How To Make Android Smartphones Battery Last Longer

Below, i have highlighted some points that should help in making your smartphone android battery last a little longer;

Screen Time-Out Control

A very important feature your have to focus on is the screen time-out timing on your smartphone, this is significantly important for android users. You need to control your smartphones screen time-out because this is one of the things which drain your smartphone battery.

To make this happen, goto your phone settings and visit display/screen settings, the best thing is to reduce your screen time-out to the lowest display time-out on your android smartphone. Like it is shown in the android smartphone above, the lowest screen time-out of this smartphone is 15secs, so i will select 15secs and then save it.

Display Brightness Level

Also another important thing that will help make your android smartphone battery last longer is to reduce the brightness level of the smartphone. The best brightness level to put your smartphone, when you are indoors put the brightness level to DIM brightness or reduce the brightness level to the least level. But when you are outdoors, because of the DIM brightness selected and the sunlight outdoor you might not really see clearly some things on your phone, so you can change your brightness level by increasing it to a preferred level where you can now see your phone clear. I advice you do not put you phone display brightness on AUTO MODE.

Bluetooth OFF

Yes, always make sure you turn off your bluetooth. Especially in android we should all know by now that every thing that works on an android smartphone every including the operating system OS is an application, so this means that your android smartphones' bluetooth also has an application and this application will continue to run, draining the battery if the bluetooth is on. Bluetooth is also a connectivity option and onething about connectivities is that they drain battery faster than any other system feature. When you aren’t listening to the BT radio or using the hands-free, do your battery a favour and turn it off the bluetooth.

Mobile Data - WiFi Connections

If possible its battery effective to use wireless connectivity for browsing the internet on your android smartphone, like connecting to Hotspots and so on rather using the mobile connection, this is because the mobile phone connection consumes more battery than wireless connections. So its important to always put off your mobile data when you are not using your android smartphone for an internet related stuff. Though, this doesn't mean your WiFi should be on, note that WiFi being on means that it would always continue to search for available WiFi networks therefore draining the battery of your android smartphone. When you are not using this feature anymore endeavor to put it off.

GPS Location Services

Another way to make your android smartphone battery last longer is by cutting off on location service and GPS, some mobile tech users are fond of constantly monitoring their locations using GPS locations.

Most times you will not notice this because some android applications would have been given GPS access which then runs the underground feature. To make your android smartphone battery last even longer, make sure you turn off GPS/Location Services.
Clearing Background Applications

One of the popular methods to increasing an android smartphone battery life is clearing all running background applications, even most android battery saver applications - applications downloaded to probably increase your android battery life span, the applications will stop background applications from running; this tells you how popular and the usage of this method. Of course your android smartphone may have a RAM of 3GB, or more but this doesn't mean you should not clear the background, running applications you are not using, for example if you open 20 applications at a time and you are just making use of 2 applications, it is advisable to clear the remaining 18 applications because all the 20 apps running will then to drain your battery.

Remove Vibrations

It takes only a few amount of energy for your smartphone to ring while notifying you of an alert or call or any other things of the sort but when you decide to go the way of vibration, you are placing a heavier load on the battery.

It takes a small membrane of the phone speaker to ring but for vibrations, the phone would need to generate enough mechanical energy to set a motor in motion which produces that vibration effect. You are not only draining the battery in the short run, but also impacting the life of your android smartphone battery in the long run.

Choose Priority Notifications

Almost every apps now, if not all of them, are in the habit of cranking up internet time all by themselves to look for updates, add new information to their database and keep afresh and abreast with your activities. Games are not even left out due to the online community that the gaming world is starting to develop now and when these apps find something, they try to let you know by ringing, vibrating, chiming or flashing you the LED. Not only does their jaywalking on the streets of the internet drain your battery, the way they notify you also does damages on its own. Take only the apps you really need and turn on notifications anthem. Kill the notifications on others and even for the ones you have left on, a simple beep would do. And Lastly...

Put Android Phone On Battery Saver Modes

Most android smartphones of today now have some special type of battery saving mode which comes with the android smartphone, its advisable to take advantage of this feature. On the Android 6.0 Marshmallow foe example there is a feature called Doze feature, it reminds you to put your android smartphone on a doze/sleep mode when nit in use; which would help in improving your android smartphones battery life.

So that's all the tips i have on how to make android smartphones battery last a little longer... Take advantage of these tips i have discussed above and be sure to experience new changes to your android smartphone battery life.

You should also not forget the following important features...

Availability of replacement parts and aftersales services. Phones will definitely become faulty, when you have to wait for a part as small as mouthpiece or battery to be imported by special order then you are in big shit.

When considering price,one must also consider the cost of maintenance, repairs and second hand value.

... Personally, I also consider the rootability of the device.
Hmm, true talk man.. Thanks!
