How Herbalist Attempted Selling Dead Lady’s Body Parts To Buy Foodstuff For Family https://www.genloaded.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Mike-Adenuga-Impostor-600x300.jpg Detectives attached to the Zonal Intervention Squad, Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos have arrested a herbalist in an attempt to sell human parts. The 48-year-old suspect, Ibukun Moses, was said to have been arrested in Igbokoda in Ondo State. The victim, simply identified as Toyin, was brought to the herbalist’s house for treatment of undisclosed illness, but died there. It was gathered that immediately the lady died, the herbalist contacted her family to come and take her for burial. However, the family members decided to bury her in Igbokoda with the assistant of the herbalist who took them to a cemetery where she was buried. After Toyin had been buried, the herbalist went back to the cemetery and exhumed her corpse and cut off her head, jaw, the two hands and some other vital organs. The herbalist ran out of luck when the victim’s family members went back to Igbokoda a week after she was buried to pray for the repose of her soul at the cemetery, but they discovered that her tomb had been tampered with and the matter was immediately reported to the ZIS office at Obada-Oko area of Ogun State. Immediately, the matter was reported the herbalist was arrested in his shrine at Igbokoda, but denied knowing anything about the incident. During interrogation, the herbalist later confessed to the police that he exhumed the corpse of the lady in order to sell her body parts to his co-herbalists who might want to use it so that he could buy foodstuff for his family. Confirming the incident to journalists on Monday, the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Dolapo Badmous, said the case is under investigation. She said: “The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Mr. Lawal Shehu, has directed that the case should be investigated and ensure that no stone should be left unturned for adequate prosecution of the suspect.”More Via: http://www.genloaded.com.ng/news/how-herbalist-attempted-selling-dead-ladys-body-parts-to-buy-foodstuff-for-family/ . |
https://www.genloaded.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Buhari-at-the-villa-1024x576.jpg President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, has revealed why the president did not campaign for candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the states after the presidential election. Ahmad said the president did not campaign for APC after his re-election because “he wanted to leave the people to express their will”. Buhari was accused of not doing enough to help his party to win governorship elections after his re-election. However, the presidential aide stated that Buhari never wanted the victories of the party’s governorship candidates to be attributed to his influence. In a series of tweets, Ahmad said Buhari initially wanted to visit some states to campaign “but changed his mind insisting Nigerians should be allowed to vote whoever they wanted without his (Buhari’s) influence”. “In politics you can never be fair to all at the same time; APC wanted #PMB to visit some states after presidential election to campaign for some candidates of the party, all set, last minute he canceled and said people should be allowed to vote for whoever they want, but not because of him.” “After the governorship election on March 9th, some candidates of his APC and their supporters weren’t happy, they blamed him for not doing enough to help his party to win, while opposition were hailing him, saying that he’s a President for all and that’s how it should be.” He also disclosed that few days to the supplementary election, “efforts were made to make the president record a short video calling for support for APC candidates but the president declined.” “Few days to supplementary elections, we wanted President Buhari to record a short video asking people to come out and vote for candidates of his party, the APC, which is very right, again he declined and issued a statement saying that people should vote leaders of their choice. “In short; for elections which President Buhari isn’t even on the ballot paper, he has received blames both from his party and opposition, all because he decided not to interfere in the process. “In politics, when one side is hailing you, the other will be blaming you,” he added. http://www.genloaded.com.ng/news/why-buhari-didnt-campaign-for-apc-candidates-after-his-re-election-presidency/ |

https://www.genloaded.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/APC.jpg The Benue chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has rejected the outcome of the Governorship election declared on Sunday, in favour of Gov Samuel Ortom of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The party said in a statement on Sunday in Makurdi that the results did not reflect the wishes of the people. The statement signed by Prof. Eugene Aliegba, Secretary Jime/Ode Campaign Organisation, said that APC would challenge the results in court. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Sunday declared Ortom winner of both the governorship and supplementary polls conducted on March 9 and March 23, to determine the Benue governor. Ortom polled 434,473 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr Emmanuel Jime of the APC, who polled 345,155 votes. The statement declared that the outcome of the poll was “totally unacceptable to the APC”. It, however, thanked those who voted for Jime and Sam Ode, the party’s governorship and deputy governorship candidates in the election, and prayed God to reward them for their trust and confidence in the team. “When we embarked on this journey many months ago, it was to translate to reality the dreams of a better future for our suffering people. “We toured the entire state and made our case for wealth creation through agriculture, education reforms, infrastructure development and a welfare package for our senior citizens. “We told our people of our plans for improved capacity and welfare for civil servants, and a health policy that covers all Benue residents.“Our messages resonated with the electorate because they could tell that our projects were about service, not hinged on intent to occupy office for the sake of it. “But, even as the results declared did not appear to reflect the will of most of these same people, we call on our supporters to remain calm and law abiding as they had been throughout the campaigns and electioneering period.“They have our full assurance that as a party that believes in democracy, we will not accept a stolen election,” it added. The statement implored the party faithful not to waver in their trust on the party to reclaim is mandate. “Going into this contest, we were well aware of the fact that only one of two outcomes was possible – either we win fairly in line with the massive support we earned from the people, or another winner emerges through a credible and transparent process.“We did not anticipate a third option that confers advantage to those who play dubiously outside the laid down rules of the game,” he said. “We will make a case before the Elections Petitions Tribunal to subject the Benue governorship elections result to an integrity test. If we opt otherwise, we will be as guilty as those who undertake acts that undermine democracy.“We have chosen to take action that insulates democracy from practices that threaten it,” the statement said. The party, therefore, urged its members and well wishers to remain calm and refrain from acts that would jeopardise the existing peace in the state. He said that the victory was not only for him but for the entire people of the state.“We have succeeded in wining this election with all of you and we will ensure a strategic government that will involve all so as to develop Sokoto State and maintain its credibility and respect in the country and the world at large. “We have won the election and we need to celebrate it, but I urge all of you to maintain peaceful victory rallies and also pray for the best leadership of our dreams,” he said. Tambuwal further thanked the people for giving him another chance to serve them and assured them that they would not regret that trust.NAN reports that wild victory celebrations enveloped Sokoto State immediately after the Chief Collation/Returning Officer for the state, Prof. Fatima Mukhtar, declared Tambuwal as duly elected. https://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Amaechi-abe.jpg The senator representing Rivers East senatorial district, Magnus Abe, has claimed that the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, threatened him in his own house. He also accused Amaechi of trying to play god in the way he imposed Mr. Tonye Cole as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state. Abe, who spoke on Thursday on Arise News, said: “If we overcome this struggle internally, I believe the party will be stronger for it. At the core of the challenges in the APC Rivers state is that people actually want alternative they know will work. “The legal and moral foundation on which the Cole candidate is based is faulty. And if leaders of the party like us keep quiet, and allow the party to proceed in a manner that at the end of the day will leave the party totally shortchanged in every aspect, then we are not working for the party. “So, people must be able to speak up and must be able to stand for what will help the APC in Rivers State. People have suffered so much in the state for us to leave them with no option.” Abe said what led to the crisis in the party was the refusal of some party leaders to allow due process and internal democracy, saying that was the reason over 16,000 members who were denied their rights headed for the court to fight the process. “Over 16,000 members of the party who were denied opportunity to participate in the party’s primary process headed to the courts to enforce their rights. That was the beginning of the crisis. This was still lingering when the primary took place. “Following this, the national chairman decided that Rivers State was one of the states where direct primaries must take place because of issues arising out of the exclusion of these people. “Those of us who are lawyers know that you cannot put nothing on something and expect it to stand. But just as they feared, the High Court dismissed the entire exercise that produced Mr. Cole. The Court of Appeal has also affirmed the decision of the lower court.” Abe said there was no truth in the assertion that he had insisted that the party should field him or nobody else. “I have never said that. I’m a loyal party man, but at the same time, the party belongs to all of us and we cannot stand by and allow the party to crash.” Reacting to the claim that Amaechi was in his house to plead with him to drop his gubernatorial ambition and accept a senatorial ticket, Abe said this was not the true position. It was gathered that the man was almost lynched by the mob who caught him with a nylon bag containing female underwear as he was accused of planning to use them for rituals. The Public Relations Officer, Ondo State Command, NSCDC, Mr Oladapo Samuel, confirming the incident, said the suspect was still in the custody of the agency. He explained that the relatives of the suspect had visited the command to say that he was mentally ill and that he was fond of picking refuse around the town. He added that investigation had commenced into the matter and that the suspect would be subjected to a psychiatric test in order to determine the state of his mental health. Samuel said, “The suspect was rescued from an angry mob by two patriotic citizens. He was confirmed to engage in begging for alms and picking waste from dustbins around the metropolis by his relatives and neighbours. “At the scene of rescue, no witness was willing to speak with the NSCDC officers on the circumstances of his apprehension so as to determine if he was actually caught with the exhibits or that he was checking the nylon bag containing the exhibits, thinking that there were valuables in it. Investigation is still ongoing on the case.” Source: http://www.naijawoven.com/man-caught-female-pants-sanitary-pads-allegedly-rituals/ |

Speaking in his new year message, Abiara said the future of Nigeria is bright. The cleric said: “Do not listen to prophesies of doom. The future of Nigeria is bright and good and you will live to witness it. “This year, don’t spend your money alone; share your food and other resources with the less privileged. Don’t be lazy; work hard to achieve your dreams.” Abiara also called on the Federal Government to accede to the N30,000 minimum wage demand of the Nigeria Labour Congress. The cleric urged the government to prevent any strike action that could damage the economy. He added, “I advise the Federal Government to pay the minimum wage the Nigeria Labor Congress demanded. The government must do something reasonable about workers’ salaries. They should not allow them to go on strike because it will cripple the economy. “Nigerian workers are demanding $87, which is N30,000 only. What they are asking for is not too much because the prices of things have gone up, especially food items. The wealthy and the poor buy things from the same markets. “The government should give priority to the masses in 2019.” On the 2019 elections, he warned political leaders against hate speech, saying it could destabilise the country. He appealed to Nigerians to vote for candidates of their choice without fear, saying nobody should sell his vote. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has said the case of alleged fraud involving Senator Godswill Akpabio is not over. Akpabio had said that he was a man of peace that had no case to answer with the EFCC, adding that the young man who wrote petition against him to the commission could not prove his case “Those petitions to the EFCC have been sorted out. As I stand today, I have not been charged to court because nothing was found against me,” Akpabio said. However, the spokesman for the EFCC, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, while responding to Akpabio’s claim, said his case was still ongoing. When asked by Punch if Akpabio was still under probe, the EFCC spokesman said, “EFCC does not close cases or give clearance to anybody.” In 2015, Akpabio was accused of diverting over N100bn from the oil-rich state between 2007 and 2015, an allegation which he has denied. http://www.genloaded.com.ng/efcc-shocks-akpabio-says-corruption-case-not-closed https://www.genloaded.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Akpabio.jpg |

Yakubu said this while responding to questions from journalists after a meeting with the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, in the Senate building in Abuja, on Wednesday. He said “The most important thing to say is INEC was invited to meet with the National Assembly leadership on how the proposed budget for the 2019 elections can be speedily considered and appropriated by the National Assembly. “We have been assured of speedy passage of the budget perhaps as early as next week, N242bn is the total amount proposed. “We are now more energised, more reassured that our plans for the 2019 general elections are absolutely in progress. We have from today exactly 191 days to the opening of polling units by 8 am on Saturday, February 16, 2019. “There are activities we have to undertake for a minimum of six months to the Election Day and six months to Election Day kick-start from the 15th of August. It means we have eight days to the commencement of these activities. “We are confident that all the grey areas will be ironed out and as far as INEC is concerned, our own component of the cost of 2019 elections will be speedily appropriated by the National Assembly.” http://www.genloaded.com.ng/nigerian-senate-to-reconvene-next-week-yakubu/ |

https://www.genloaded.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Rafiu-Adebayo-Ibrahim-1.jpg The Senator representing Kwara South in the National Assembly, Rafiu Ibrahim, has said that the security agents who besieged the residences of Senate President Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu were capable of killing them. Senator Ibrahim, who spoke with Punch, was among the senators who dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress, for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, last Tuesday. According to the lawmaker, the agents of government were desperate to execute their plans on the presiding officers of the senate. He said, “The senate president has a very strong legal team of many senior advocates of Nigeria who are already working on the issue. “He has a legal issue with the police and he will take the case up legally. “As we were strategising on how to convince our members to let us reconsider our stand and shelve our plans to defect, the police brought a letter by 8pm on Monday, asking the senate president to appear before them by 8am on Tuesday. “The following day, very early in the morning, the EFCC went to the house of the deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, blocked his house and successfully ensured that he did not go out. “Simultaneously, some policemen were also at the home of the senate president with a specific instruction to prevent him from leaving his house. “Those who could carry out such actions could as well kill the principal officers or bomb their houses. “My concern at the moment is to ensure that the senate president is alive. The agents of government are getting desperate just to actualise their plans. “Their plan was to ensure that the two of them were not available for plenary on Tuesday so that some senators could remove Saraki and Ekweremadu as senate president and deputy senate president, respectively. “However, God, in his infinite mercies and powers, used some people to disorganise their plans by helping Saraki to preside over plenary on Tuesday. It was God, nothing else. “We adjourned abruptly on Tuesday because the federal authorities deployed armed policemen who laid siege to the residences of our presiding officers. “If they can put the SP and the DSP under house arrest, what stopped them from arresting senators on the streets of Abuja and institute frivolous litigation against them?”. http://www.genloaded.com.ng/saraki-ekweremmadu-could-have-been-killed-last-tuesday-senator-ibrahim/ . |
https://i1.wp.com/www.genloaded.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/prison.jpg?w=549 A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bayelsa State, Chief Perekeme Richard Kpodo, has been put behind bars at the Okaka prison for two weeks. Kpodo was arraigned before Magistrate, E.T Empire-Ugwa of Magistrate Court 10 on two counts bordering on unlawful detention and rape of one Teke Blessing. The charge Sheet read that Kpodo was alleged to have detained Blessing on June 20, 2018 at Etegwe area of Yenagoa with an intent to defile her and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 155 of the Criminal Code. Kpodo, a former Security Adviser in the state, was said to have, on same day, allegedly detained the girl, raped her thereby committing an offence punishable under section 285 of the Criminal Code. He however, pleaded not guilty to the charges and his lawyer, Julius Iyekoroghe, who was represented by Funlayeifa Seibokuru, applied for the bail on grounds of sickness and personal recognition. The lawyer argued that the bail application was hinged on the fact that every accused person is presumed innocent until proven guilty. He said that the accused aside being hypertensive, also suffered other sicknesses and appealed to the court to grant him bail because he is a known politician and businessman, who owned hotels and properties in the state. The lawyer said that the arraignment was politically motivated because he has refused overtures made to him by the PDP to back down on his criticism of government policies. “If granted bail, he won’t jump bail. We also have sureties that are also ready to take him on bail. The court should consider his ill health and his personality and grant him bail”, he said. The Prosecutor, Ayibatonye Jumbo, however, opposed the bail application, pointing out that Kpodoh wields so much influence which can jeopardise the case if released on bail. “There is the likelihood of the accused person interfering with the witnesses of the prosecution. “The court should also consider the prevalence of the offence on daily basis. “Almost on a daily basis, crimes like rape occur. Some are not reported because of stigma of the victims”, Jumbo said. Jumbo also punctured the argument of the ailments afflicting the accused pointing out that there is no medical record to back up the claims. “The count one is misdemeanor, which is not a serious offence. But the second count is felony and a serious offence, which if he is convicted, he will be jailed for life. Based on this, we appeal to the court to reject the bail application.” The judge ordered that the accused be remanded in the Okaka Prison facilities and adjourned the matter till two week’s time. https://www.genloaded.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Wole-Soyinka-12-750x400.jpg Nobel Literature laureate, Wole Soyinka, has said that for the fight against corruption in Nigeria to succeed, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has to beam its searchlight on some country’s former leaders. He said; “until we make some of our past leaders walk through those doors of the EFCC new office, the fight against corruption would not have the needed traction.” Soyinka spoke on Monday at the opening of a meeting of heads of anticorruption agencies from Commonwealth Africa, in Abuja, the Nigerian capital. The literary doyen said he was at the new office building of the anti-corruption agency at the weekend, “to see what will he the modest hospitality” for suspects. The renowned writer said he asked the EFCC acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu, for the “presidential wing” of the cells, saying he asked out of his human rights concerns to ensure such personalities are well treated while in detention. “But Magu said they are an egalitarian organisation that treats people equally,” he said told the audience. Soyinka said all the money stolen by former Head of State Sani Abacha should be fully recovered. The Nobel laureate particularly made reference to a leader of a neighbouring country who, he alleged, collected millions for the purpose. In his welcome address, Mr Magu described the presence of his colleagues from Commonwealth African countries for the meeting as an endorsement of Nigeria’s efforts against corruption. https://www.genloaded.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/buhari-in-jigawa.jpg President Muhammadu Buhari, Monday, in Dutse, Jigawa State, said his administration is delivering on promises with clear-cut targets, prudent management of resources and a deliberate policy to plug wastage and pilfering of government resources. Speaking at the palace of the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammadu Sanusi, during a two-day visit, President Buhari said the odds of initial dwindling oil prices did not discourage the government from setting targets for lofty developmental projects and achieving more in three years than the 16 years of Peoples Democratic Party’s misrule. The President said the growing support the administration currently enjoys can be attributed to the understanding of Nigerians of the unpleasant realities it inherited, and the efforts to reposition the economy in spite of “what the opposition keeps sponsoring in the press’’. He directed the Minister of Water Resources, Eng. Sulaiman Adamu, to work with the Jigawa State Government to alleviate the challenge of water scarcity in the state capital, following a complaint by the Emir of Dutse. On arrival in Jigawa State, the President began his engagements at Auyo, near Hadejia, where he inaugurated the expansion of an irrigation scheme and paid a visit to the Emir of Hadejia, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje. The President, who was received by a tumultuous crowd, thanked the Emir of Hadejia and his people for always supporting him, even when he was an opposition candidate. He said his visit to Hadejia was more of homecoming, promising to give more attention to the needs of the people in the Emirate. Click Here To Continue Reading . |
