Why is it that some people hate the truth?

I have been quietly following the trend and news that have overtaken the cyberspace and airwaves since the president's son Yusuf was involved in a bike accident. He was not hit or anything, he just had an accident and the reason for the accident is yet to be revealed. I thank God nobody caused his accident, at least no family will have to live in fear of a reprisal attack yet.

The only reason why I feel for Yusuf is because he's a young man like me with his own dreams and aspirations. At least for now, we have not seen how his dream will affect the life of an 'ordinary citizen.

I am not feeling for Yusuf because he's the President's son. His life is worth as much as the lives of those who have died due to his dad's actions and inactions. His life is same with those who terrorists in the form of herdsmen have attacked and maimed and his father did nothing about it.

Yusuf's life is not more precious than the life of a Nigerian youth who genuinely struggles under the sun to make ends meet; a youth who suffers because of the negligence and wickedness of Nigerian politicians.

I wish Yusuf quick recovery but I charge him to live the remainder of his days being an opposite of what his father has not proven not to be; a man who never forgives, a man who bears hatred in his heart, an unproductive man who is incapable of multiplying wealth, a man who knows all shades of tribalism, dichotomy, ethnic jingoism and ruthless aggression.

But I can guarantee whoever cares to listen that if Buhari will start to be empathetic to the plights of those in Southern Kaduna, Adamawa, Chibok, and all other places he has deliberately turned a blind eye against, not only will Yusuf heal, but his scars will not be found.
