I appreciate your feedback. First, there are no sinister motives, all I wanted was to seek the opinion of experts here regarding an idea. In your own opinion, that conversation is too much for forums like this ? So you think no meaningful discussion regarding a business such as a new marketplace is beyond the capacity of the guys here? You directed me to Namepros and Twitter, while those are highly respected platforms, nairaland is also a place such issues can be discussed. In your own opinion, "if you have $100k, what the hell are you doing on nairaland?" When it comes to selling domains i am neither a newbie or a kid. I have never sold a 3 figure domain. I wake up, sleep, and dream domains. Lol You believe its the buyers that call the shots, yes they have the money to acquire domains, no doubt. But in my experience, I spend money on good names and the buyers find me. In the above scenario, I dictate where I want them to pay, while some want to deal with big brands like dan/godaddy, I have instructed many to do direct wire transfers. It has worked many times . My goal here is not to argue or brag about $100k, if I wanted to do that I could easily walk into my safe bring out the $100k and flash for you to see. Lol. The idea is to create more value for the sellers in terms of earnings. In my opinion, and also based on years experience, most domains are sold for way too low, there could be a platform that focuses on negotiations as many sellers are "too desperate to sell" so when a low ball offer comes, they jump at it since they have limited skills in negotiations or they think if I lose this deal another won't come. therealMcCain: |
Hi everyone. Now that Dan is gone, what are the better alternatives. So I have a couple of questions. What attracts you as a domainer to a marketplace ? I know there are many new platforms springing up daily but in my own opinion they do not have that touch of Dan. What do you think would attract a buyer to a marketplace. I am asking all these because I was approached by some partners who discussed the possibility of setting up a marketplace to aggressively penetrate the space, they have the capability in terms of technology, designs etc but additional funding is what they need. I wanted to find out from the experienced ones here what you think about such an idea as the commitment required to get in is about $100k. There are already key players like Afternic, Sedo and brandable marketplaces like atom, brandbucket, notable ones like Afternic would have been a great alternative but the suspicion is that GoDaddy is ready to kill it too. So thats why I asked those questions because a marketplace is meaningless without active buyers and sellers. I will appreciate feedback from you all. Btw, all partners involved are all from the US. Thanks. |
Can someone with experience help with this question... I like to know imohimoh12: |
Strange they all have similar hairstyles |
It's normal, there are bound to be defections here and there, how come no one has defected to labor party. |
Good |
I was at a store in the US trying to get the iPhone 14 pro max, the lady said NO SIM or something like that, will it work in Nigeria, it is unlocked, she claims my phone provider will enter a code. Can someone in Nigeria let me know if such phones can be used ON networks in Nigeria. Thanks. |
Negotiable? |
Can someone tell me how to get a virtual dollar card, will appreciate quick response. I understand that flutterwave no longer works . Thanks all |
Despite the warning, you will still hear people crying that they were just scammed |
Nice one Prof. I hope one stupid person will not file a law suit claiming child can't move hands. We see frivolous law suits every day in America |
Omg this guy is crazy. I woke up to read this laughing so hard .... lol slawormiir: |
How could a man be so dumb? 20 million to bet ? Why didn't he stop at 2 million? Anyway that's the spirit of gambling, always hopeful for a better day. Lol |
This will create legitimate business opportunities that the Nigerian entrepreneur has been yearning for. Now the small guy will be comfortable selling his products or services to the international market without bypassing any legal process. To those hard working guys in Nigeria, the opportunity has arrived. Congratulations!!! |
Do not treat this case as a girlfriend issue, treat it like a criminal act. File a case with the police, get her arrested. Don't spare her at all , if you forgive, trust me she will do worse things and you will have that heart attack you almost had. This is stealing and it should not be tolerated under any circumstance |
So this scam model just entered Nigeria.... lol . It used to be popular in the early 2000 in the United States, they even advertised on cable news especially CNN and fox News. The software that powers it is sold for like $100 , the admin can easily manipulate the outcome. There are technically no winners on the consumer side. They will definitely succeed in Nigeria as many of the people there have been brought up to believe 100% in 'miracles' in the process many have unrealistic expectations. How can you think you can bid for iPhone 12 for 1500 naira, if you are not plain stupid ? |
I will not be surprised if money has silenced this guy, poverty is indeed a terrible thing. God will not let us admit guilt due to poverty. Imagine if he lived in a country like USA, a top attorney would have taken up his case. But like I said "God punish poverty" |
Can you delete this post or edit, I don't think it's nice to associate a company name with scam. There are better and smarter ways of checking out companies rather than using the keyword scam with their brand. |
Just 5 million ? For a former governor's brother? That's why I love America, by the time they make the reward high, you will see as your own family will cast you. Obviously there are some people somewhere that know those that did it. We should have that kind of HONEST tip and get rewarded kind of system. may his soul RIP |
Can you show samples of your work |
The poster is a clown, check out his previous posts on nairaland. This is fake story!!! |
They will use this boy as an example |
Seriously lucky he got just 10 years |
Haba ! Can you stop lying. CVS will begin the administering the vaccine on Thursday. Why pass wrong info ? |
Since you know much why don't you educate me, just look at this talented idiot MT: |
I have always said it that this government and its managers are completely clueless. Imagine having a severe headache, the rest of the body cannot function properly. Buhari is too old to manage a complex system like Nigeria, the CBN and many other government officials are out of touch with 2021 reality, they still think we are in 1993 or 2001. Don't be surprised if the CBN makes a Uturn tomorrow, most investors will be worried about doing anything with Nigeria, they will rather go to South Africa, Kenya or even Ghana. Look at how much Benin Republic earned from car impotation and rice. We honestly have very dumb people managing our nation. Where are smart leaders in their 30s and 40s, next election must be different |
Very smart girl, why didn't she swear that "if any man paid for the car" Its obvious the bloggers did not figure out who purchased the car. My point is this, how come the male actors are not able to afford luxury cars, I guess they don't have big gods Lol |
Whats kedu TV, who did the valuation , how do people come up with such figures. A site with 0 traffic, domain was purchased less than 2 yes ago. Common ... |
How could kidnapping be happening successfully in a country like Nigeria. I am sure the president is briefed daily on this. What is he doing about this. The only time they will take action is when their immediate family members like wives and children are kidnapped, at that point they will understand what regular Nigerians face. This is a complex situation that can be handled with technology, dedicated experts with proper equipments and logistics. It is a sad situation. I pray no one reading this will ever experience kidnapping directly or indirectly. |
I sympathize with your situation,it is well. Its either you are a kid or poverty has dealt so much with you that you no longer have the capacity to think properly. There is a way and pattern idiots write on this forum, haven't you all noticed ? Gerrard59: |
I have always said it that this government is run by insane people. How could you just wake up and make such a decision? I won't blame them, next election, if you like collect 5000 you will get worse treatment. Look at NIN, some idiot just woke up and made a decision without putting lots of things into consideration, so I arrive Nigeria now with no way to get a phone number. Many government decisions are never thought through. We deserve better than what we are getting, Nigerians are smart people, we should never settle for less , mediocrity should not be an option when choosing leaders. I apologize for being part of those that encouraged people to vote for Buhari during the first election, I encouraged over 80 of my employees in Lagos to vote for him, I thought he was the messiah. I later realized that this man really has nothing much to offer. Someone that thinks today is Monday |
