Hmm! That's seriously serious. What if ones qualification falls within the skill shortage area? Can one get an employer to file for him? femijck: I don’t know, I suggest u check their website. There are 2 guys we do same physical job together who have PhD from Egypt and Kenya and another lady with 3 M.Sc from an Africa country doing cleaning job. And few Nigerians I know with B.Sc, including myself are doing factory job if that tells you something....but I stand to be corrected by those who know more. Best is to get another qualification from here. |

There will always be jobs round the year I can’t really remember the months but maybe anytime from October or late September. Just remember when US is in winter, we NZ is summer....just opposite .. It’s getting a little warmer now. |

May know the airline used?
Thanks |

Interesting!!! Now you're giving out classified information.
My next questions are How did you process your work permit? Yourself or through agent? What are the documents/requirements involved?
How long does it take to get it?
Thanks in advance. |

Yes, it's okay to go on a visit visa. Research shows that 70% of jobs are awarded to potential employees in NZ. Give it a shot bro since you know someone who can provide you with an accommodation and can put you through on how to get top jobs quickly. Get your statement of account and file your application as soon as possible. iwanvisityankee: @OP, i have a kiwi friend who is helping me to look for job over there, i met her online few months ago and we have been good friends, though she old enough to be my mama , we are just good friends (nothing attached), accommodation wont be a problem cos her family knows me. i am thinking if it will be ok to go on a visit visa and search for job myself, though my current job i earn nothing less than 300k (outside naija). i need your advise @OP |

Thank you for your assistance. The city is Auckland. Coming with a student visa could be expensive. However, I have been able to read through inz web that one could look for job on a visit visa just like you pointed out. Though getting an employer might be difficult and is also possible with the right CV and skill set. Your encouragement would also go a long way in helping would be immigrants like us here in Nigeria. Though I made some research about that such as the chambers of commerce, CBD etc, but you're there to guide us on how to get job quickly on a visit visa. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. femijck: firstly, which city are u looking to come to. I need to know this as accomodation and job differs.
About getting a job while on a visit visa , it’s not impossible as I believe not everybody in NZ have the right visa to be here or work legally... but u have to sort that out yourself...... but if u are very lucky to get a company that can sponsor u on an essential work visa. Which means ur visa depends on d job. And u can only work with that company.
Have in mind, that no agency will sponsor u. So it has to be directly with the company.... which is not impossible but might be difficult.... but everything is networking.
But I will advise u to rather come on a student visa, as this will allow u to work 20hrs a week and also give u a couple of post study work visa and u can go from there. Visit or tourist visa is d worst anybody can travel with if u looking to settle down. Except u have someone on ground to help u |

My question is in terms of getting an affordable accommodation upon arrival NZ.
How to secure a job in NZ.
Considering that the person entered NZ with a Visit Visa.
Many thanks. |

It's a good offer. Please go for it. Except for the visa fee and other medical expenses. Don't part with your money. ikelords: Femijck: there is an offer someone in lagos linked me up with about getting me a job in new zealand , its a 2 yrs work permit, all I paid for was visa fee , insurance and medicals... While I entered a bond with d company with some % of my pay I will remit to them for a year... Pls kindly shed more light on jobs that pay well in new Zealand and how rewarding is new Zealand . is it worth coming to.? |

Thank you for your feedback and response thus far. I'd like to know the cost of affordable accommodation. femijck: Well Inz website is your best bet.
But I will give u a first hand info from my experience...If u are applying for a. Visitor visa of less than 6 months, u do not need any medical or police report. if atall u will need one, your application will be approved in principle and your case officer will tell you the next step through the AIP email and how to go about it.
Inz accept only e-medical, which means the panel doctor send your results directly to them and it's valid for 36 months ...u don't even have any copy other than d e-medical numbers.
I didn't have any health insurance, I only took some drugs with me...if u sustain any injury from a road accident here, u are covered by the government insurance.
When applying for any visa, the most important thing is to show that your are a bona fide and ur intentions are genuine. i.e for a visitor visa, ur intention is to visit and go back and no other plan(even though u can still get d chance to apply for another visa incase ur plans changed while u are here)....as simple as this may sound, it's the most important and difficult aspect of a visitor visa to be issued once u meet up with other socio-economic criteria.
Doing a medical while u were applying for a short stay means that u are telling Inz that u plan to stay longer or ur plans are not genuine. If it's not e- medical ,u can do it and keep it. But u cannot do that with e- medical as the result is uploaded directly into your profile with INZ.
Medical cost btw 200-300 Nzd here so the difference is not so much. Keep your plans first and focus on getting d visitor visa since that's your plan... submit the necessary docs for a visitor visa.
When u get the vv, then u can do ur police report and have it sent with ur credentials by courier while u r onshore.... don't even bring them with u because if u r unlucky and ur luggage is searched while u are on vv at POE, then your visiting intentions are not true and u can be denied immigration clearance and sent back
Also be sure u know what you're doing because getting an employer to sponsor you or a job that will meet the regulations of essential work visa may not be easy as u think...but not impossible.
I hope that helps.. GOOD LUCK |
