The Lagos State Ministry of health contacted the Man of God yesterday Friday August 1,2014 to ask that he cancels the convention but he has told them it is too late to cancel as guests from far and wide have already arrived and the convention is already set for take off on Sunday morning.

Insiders say that ''There is panic amongst those who should know better and the Governor of Lagos State Babatunde Raji Fashola is very upset about the TB Joshua convention not being cancelled.


The Ministry of health considers the convention high risk because of the various Nationalities that will converge there with most of them probably already infected and seeking cure.majority of the guests at the convention are members from TB Joshua's Liberia branch''.

A 35-year-old man, Yinka Offehin, is battling for his life at a private hospital in Lagos State after his scrotum was cut by the children of his landlady.

The Edo State indigene, who resides on Popoola Street, off Abaranje Road in the Ikotun area of Lagos, was said to have been attacked while sleeping in his room with his family members.

His wife, Bisi, who was with him when the incident happened, identified the assailants as Solomon and Damilola, the children of the landlady.
She said, “On Thursday morning, around 3am, while we were sleeping, we heard loud bangs on our door. We initially thought they were armed robbers because the house beside ours had recently been robbed.“When they entered, we saw they were children of our landlady. They began destroying our electronics and other property.
“There were two of them. One held a knife in his hand. They took N800, 000. They descended on my husband and he also fought back. In that confusion, my husband shouted and we saw that one of the attackers had cut Yinka’s scrotum. I can’t say what they used to cut off my husband’s scrotum.” 
She added that her husband, though in pain, was able to hold on to one of his attackers till dawn, while the other fled the scene.

Bisi said her husband could not be admitted at a general hospital because of the ongoing doctors’ strike, but was eventually taken to a private hospital in the area.

When our correspondent visited the victim at the hospital, he told Punch the genesis of his problem was when he had a misunderstanding with his landlady and was asked to vacate his apartment.
“I was asked to leave the house immediately, but after the intervention of the traditional ruler of the community, I was asked to leave by the end of August.But that decision did not go down well with the children of my landlady and they continued to make trouble with me.I was already planning to leave their house and had even contacted an agent when they attacked me without any provocation. I want the government to fight for me,” 

A doctor in the hospital, who pleaded anonymity, told our correspondent that his patient would need up to three months to recover.

He said, 
“We have stitched the area where the scrotum was torn. It may take up to three months before it will  eal. He needs time to fully recover from the injury.”
A relative said the doctor told the family if the condition did not improve, a surgery may not be ruled out.
It was learnt that about N60, 000 had already been spent by the family.
The father of the suspects, a pastor, when contacted, declined comment.He said,
“I am sorry; I can’t speak with you on this matter. You know the matter is already with the police and those they accused of committing the offence are in the police cell. So, what do you want me to say? I was told they are taking the matter to court. Let’s leave everything to God.”
Our correspondent learnt that the case was reported at the Ikotun Police Division.
A source told our correspondent that a member of the suspects’ family had on the morning of the incident reported a case of armed attack on them by a tenant.

The wife of the victim, who met the relative at the station, reportedly expressed surprise, telling the officers the reverse was the case.
It was learnt that the relative was put behind the counter after the police saw the victim’s injuries.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the incident.

She said, “
It was around 3am, while the victim was sleeping in his room, that one Solomon Olowogbemi and Damilola Olayeye, the children of his landlady, came in and started fighting with him.In the process, they inflicted injury on him with an unknown object. The skin of his scrotum was partly cut off, thereby exposing one of his testicles. The two suspects have been arrested and detained and the victim taken to a hospital.”

The Lagos State government has shut down and quarantined First Consultants Hospital in Obalende where a Liberian, Mr Patrick Sawyer with Ebola virus died last week in Lagos.

“We have shut the hospital to enable us to properly quarantine the environment. Some of the hospital staff who were in close contact with the victim have been isolated. The hospital will be shut for a week and all staff monitored to ensure the virus has not spread,” the Lagos State Health Commissioner Jide Idris said.

Mr Idris also said the Nigerian Ambassador to Liberia, Chigozie Obi Nnadozie, three staff of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, and 55 others who had contact with the victim are closely been monitored.

he Imo State Police Command has recovered the remains of a 78-year-old woman, Mrs. Lucy Osigweh, who was declared missing in 2003.

Making the revelation, yesterday, state's Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Katsina, disclosed that the woman's lifeless body was found in a large cupboard inside a shrine located in her son's private room.

Katsina said: "The missing woman's lifeless body was found in a village called Ezuru Umuagwu, Ejemekwuru, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State."

According to him, "the corpse of the 78-year-old Mrs. Osigweh, earlier declared missing in 2003, was found in a large cupboard inside a shrine of a private room in a circumstance depicting ritual practice.

"The embalmed body, which was kept in that condition for about 10 years, was believed to have been placed in the warehouse by her son, Chief Chimezie Osigweh, a 64-year-old retired school principal."

The Imo police boss said there was every reason to believe that the late woman's son is a member of a sect, adding: "Preliminary assessment of the scene of crime revealed that the late woman must have been murdered by her son for ritual purpose."

Katsina also said members of the sect used to hold secret nocturnal meetings in the place to enhance their occultic powers.

"The principal suspect, Chief Chimezie Osigweh, who is the son of the woman, has been arrested and is making useful statement to the police," the CP said.

Although Katsina did not say how the police got wind of the crime, feelers from the late woman's maiden home, Amakohia, Awa, Oguta local council area, showed that they made the startling discovery.

A villager, who spoke on grounds of anonymity, said that angered by the unresolved and inexplicable disappearance of their relation from her marital home, some villagers decided to double check earlier stories bandied by Osigweh.

According to a villager, "on getting to Ejemekwuru, our people demanded to know why their relations had remained missing for 10 years. Her son told our villagers that his mother was mad at a point and ran away to unknown place.

"Apparently not satisfied with the response, as well as the nonchalant attitude allegedly exhibited by her son, the villagers went beserk, destroying things in sight and ended up spotting the large cupboard containing the remains of their loved one.

"With this startling discovery, the villagers quickly lodged a complaint with the police who subsequently swung into action."

For allegedly being in possession of 100 pieces of master keys, a Nollywood actress,Yetunde Akilapa, was on Thursday sent to Kirikiri Prison, Apapa, Lagos, southwest, Nigeria.

Miss Akilapa was on Wednesday detained at the Alade Divisional Police headquarters in Somolu, Lagos following a complaint lodged by a complainant, accusing the actress of stealing the 100 pieces of master keys found on her.

According to a statement written by her at the police headquarters, it was not the first time the suspect would be accused of stealing.


She said: “There was a day she came home to see my relative and when I opened her bag after she went to the toilet I found a phone that was later found to have been stolen. We seized the phone from her and returned it to the owner despite her denying that she stole the phone.”

When the case came up at the Magistrate’s Court in Somolu on Thursday, the police prosecutor, Inspector Anyanwu, told the court that Miss Akilapa was arrested by a mob that accused her of conspiracy and stealing of bunches of keys.

The offence, according to the prosecutor, is punishable under section 383, 516 and 517 criminal code of Lagos state.

In her response to the charge during the court session, the accused, who claimed to be trained by popular actor Abbey Lanre, said:  “I have featured in about five films including Aiyelaba.

“I produced Bunmi Akata which I use a bunch of 100 keys to act. I am also a makeup artist.

“On the day I was arrested, a woman named Mama Ayoola, called me and said that I should bring weaveon for her. I did not know Mama Ayo Ola was not living at that compound. When I got there, I asked a girl about Mama Ayo Ola and she directed me to knock on the next door.

“ An Igbo man peeped from the door and said Mama Ayo was not living there. And as I was about going out, the mob pounced on me, searched my bags and found the hundred keys with the weaveon. They later handed me over to the policemen at Alade Divisional headquarters.”

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and the magistrate, Justice Mrs. E.A. Adekomaya, granted her bail in the sum of N14, 000 with two sureties who must own a landed property in Lagos, with evidence of paying tax to Lagos state government.

The case was adjourned till 12 March, 2013, while the defendant was moved to Kirikiri prison in Apapa, Lagos pending when she could perfect her bail conditions

Animashaun, 26 (right) were among a total of five to six attackers who took the girl to a home and sexually assaulted her on 21st December 2012.

Chicago Tribune reports that the girl was taking care of her brother and throwing out the trash when an SUV with five to six men inside drove up.

Prosecutors say Aziz Animashaun, 22, jumped out of a black SUV at 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 21 and told the girl, who was taking out the trash, to get in the vehicle. When the girl refused, Animashaun allegedly knocked her unconscious by striking her with a handgun and then carried her to the SUV.

While searching the home where she was raped, the police found a used condom and a shiny, antique handgun that matched the description of the one Animashaun is accused of using. DNA results from the condom were traced to one of the brothers, Taiwo Animashaun. Also, the 15 year-old girl identified Aziz Animashaun and Isiaka Animashaun as two of her attackers.

According to DNA Info, the girl heard the men speaking a language other than English while she was being forced to have sex with them. Based on her experience with a teacher who speaks a language spoken in Nigeria, she was able to identify that the men who attacked her spoke a similar language.

The victim managed to escape once the men were no longer in the room, Hamelly said. She ran from the location and and noticed the black SUV in a driveway, Hamelly said. Cops said that the victim made it home, and her sister called police.

The three Animashaun brothers are citizens of Nigeria but are longtime residents of the Chicago who live in the same neighborhood with the victim. Each brother faces one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault with a firearm and one count of kidnapping while armed with a firearm. No one else has been charged. The Judge ordered bail for Taiwo Animashaun set at $500,000, Aziz Animashaun set at $400,000 and Isiaka Animashaun set at $250,000.

The girl must have gone through a terrible ordeal in the hands of these young men and we pray she finds healing.

church for over five years now and am a very active
member am so active that my pastor do send me to

it to the service in the evening since he will be

The Presidency has replaced security aides around first lady Patience Jonathan in order to keep her affairs private at the Wiesbaden, Germany hospital, Horst Schmidt Kliniken, following speculations about her health, TheWill can report.
A security source with knowledge of the development told TheWill that the Presidency’s action followed reports of her medical sojourn to the hospital, believed to have been leaked by someone amongst the team of six aides dispatched to Germany ahead of her arrival.

The aides were withdrawn and replaced with a new team of six security aides from the SSS, our source said, adding that when the replacement team, made up of more experienced and trusted aides arrived Germany, they were stripped of other phones and directed to stay off the social media and the internet.

The Presidency has kept mum since reports of the first lady’s treatment in the German hospital hit the media. There have been speculations surrounding her ailment and what exactly she is being treated for.

President Goodluck Jonathan has not visited his wife since her hospitalization about three weeks ago. A top level official in the Botswana government, one of the two countries the President had visited on a 3-day working tour told THEWILL source that the President abruptly cancelled a scheduled engagement this evening and made straight for the airport heightening fears that the first lady’s condition may have deteriorated.

A star footballer is to go on trial accused of torturing and killing his mistress, then feeding her dismembered body parts to his pet dogs.

Married Bruno Fernandes de Souza, 27, a goalkeeper once tipped to play for Brazil, is alleged to have turned model Eliza Samudio 'into a human sacrifice' to preserve his reputation after she gave birth to his love child.

He is already serving a four-and-a-half-year prison sentence after being convicted of assaulting and abducting Ms Samudio, 25, but will be tried for her murder later this year.

Prosecutors allege that Bruno planned Ms Samudio's kidnap and murder with eight others, including his wife Dayane, a teenage cousin and former detective Luiz Santos, all of whom have been charged with murder, conspiracy to murder and kidnapping.

The goalkeeper, who played for Brazilian club Flamengo, is said to have watched as Santos committed 'barbaric tortures' on Ms Samudio before helping the former detective dismember her body.

Parts of the woman's body are alleged to have been fed to Bruno's dogs while the rest was buried in concrete.

Bruno is accused of ordering his wife to tell people that his love child, who was four months old at the time of the killing, had been adopted by them from a poor relative.

It is also claimed that Bruno told police Ms Samudio was 'a LovePeddler who will not be missed by anyone'.

A Brazilian newspaper has reported that the prosecution at the trial will allege that Bruno attacked a supporter, smoked cannabis and attended orgies with fellow players.

Edson Moreira, a detective who investigated the case, told the Sunday Express: 'An idol like Bruno, from such a major team, has turned out to be a monster.

'We have witnesses who will testify that he turned this girl into a human sacrifice merely to try to protect his reputation.'

The trial is expected to hear that Bruno met Ms Samudio at a party held by a teammate.

'Unfortunately for her, they slept together that night and she later discovered she was pregnant,' Mr Moreira said. 'When she approached de Souza and told him he was the father, he became enraged.

Prosecutors will allege that Bruno planned Ms Samudio's murder after she told him she would take legal action to prove he was the father of her child.

In a statement to police, his cousin claimed that, led by Santos, they kidnapped Ms Samudio from a hotel in Rio de Janeiro on June 4, 2010.

He said they drove her some 220 miles to a property in Belo Horizonte which the footballer and his wife used occasionally as a weekend retreat, where Ms Samudio was tortured.

It is claimed that Santos played loud music on the stereo to drown out the woman's screams.

Bruno, whose contract with Flamengo has been suspended, also faces charges of kidnapping, hiding a body and forming a criminal gang with intent to murder.

He has maintained his innocence throughout, claiming he has a 'clear conscience

Segilola never gave Segun a chance, she didn't care if he was a wonderful, caring, intelligent guy, she left on the hint that he didn’t have a car and translated that to the lack of a good number of other material things. Are you Segilola? If you are, I'm not here to judge you; I just want to know why?

Gold digger is slang for greedy women – a woman whose interest in a relationship is to get material benefits from it. Majority of them don't work. Once again, are you Segilola? I remember those times when girls would say, "I can "date" rich men, but when it's time for "marriage", I want a God fearing, nice, caring, sweet man"! What happened to all those promises? (I guess all na yans!) because right now, all I see, is women, stooping low, tolerating crap from men, all in the name of marrying a "rich/society big boy". They throw caution to wind, and would "rather cry in a limo, than laugh on a bicycle!"

Love? What has love got to do with relationships and marriages these days? I've heard women say "love is not enough' I can't suffer, I want a rich man!" A friend of mine actually believes that once there's money, love will spring forth (lol!) Gone are the days, when women married for love (our mothers, to be precise). Those were the days, women stood by their men, through the struggle, supported him, believed in him and prayed for him. Many ladies these days, don't want that struggle, they want a "readymade man". No waiting, no striving, everything easy!
Another friend of mine has sworn that she'll only marry a rich man even though she has to wait till her late 30's. She also mentioned she would only marry a society man, one with a well-known last name, so she can be addressed as "Mrs.....................

Now to the main issue, why do some women consider the size of a man's pocket before entering into any relationship?
Some have said marriage is a battlefield, where women are most likely going to lose, and for them, in order not to be a complete loser, they "extract" as much money, property and expensive jewelry that they can. For such women, marriage is a complete business transaction. "All’s fair in love and war" is their philosophy.
Some are gold diggers because they lacked a lot of material things as kids and so for them, marrying a rich man will be a major breakthrough.
Some are gold diggers based on experience. Life happened to them and because of their past, they would follow their head rather than their heart. They don't trust men, and are always defensive. It's kinda like a situation where they are looking out for themselves.
At the end of the day, every woman wants security, no woman wants a man that can't provide. But I think where we should draw the line, is what your definition of provision is? Are you dating a fresh graduate and expecting him to take you to London for Christmas? You must be in la la land! Please wake up! Are you engaged to a newly employed guy who is earning a five digit salary, yet you're expecting a Hermes bag? You need deliverance
Hold up men! Don't get all excited, nodding your heads. Women shouldn't take all the blame, men are equally guilty, "If men didn't offer women all these fancy things, women wouldn't even think in that direction". Often times, men lure women with expensive gifts. They'll do anything to get that girl.
