Thank you so much sir. I learnt a whole lot from there! The review was very impressive, the only thing that now dampens my interest is when the inverter is OFF, there isn't charging nor current by-pass! Below is the link to the Felicity inverters review by bigbrovar, you will definitely learn a lot about Felicity inverters... http://bobby.com.ng/2017/06/28/felicity-inverter-a-short-review/( bigbrovar: I did a short review of Felicity Solar Inverter. Options: a. Solar pump with battery backup at night. You can use this at night and during the day. This is more efficient but most expensive. b. 3.5KVA 48V inverter plus 8 batteries (4x2). You can use this at night and during the day. c. 3.5KVA 24V inverter plus 2 batteries. You can use this only in the day. Least expensive. jaz: True it will work for a few hours a day about 6-7 hours. But I'm trying to have a fail safe system which I can call on anytime I need the power. |

The quoted configuration, same as you quoted can do your bidding but you have to take AC off the table. Powering an AC over a long period of time takes a whole lot in products and of course finances. That runs into millions of Naira Charpell: My Recent 1.5kva Stand Alone Installation

Happy Customer Testimonial
I paid bigrovar for a 48V solar charge controller, he sent it from Abuja to PHC as promised and the stuff is doing very well as seen in the photos. Thank you brother.
The panels are from GeorgeD1, he's great bro too.

Please read the thread about 3-5 pages backward and you will see where a noble member of this thread placed advert to sell some used panels and I requested to buy. It was when he wasn't forth coming with the number of panels left for sale since he said he has sold some that I requested for the same specification of panel that any other person wants to sell because I have already told a client and he was interested. Eventually though, I got the 8 panels from the member of this thread that advertised. So please do not attach your thinking to my post. Thank you. cooldipo: Pls I hope this sudden demand of fairly used solar panel won't exposed our solar panels to pilfering o o.... This is bothering me a bit cos my panels are quite exposed. Those whose lost their car batteries lately will understand my concern more......Once there is huge demand or increase in value, security risk for those already acquire increases in Nigeria. MPPT is more efficient though equally more expensive. When combining solar panels of different specifications, MPPT is the way to go. Oga, DO NOT GROUND YOUR NEGATIVE TERMINAL!!! Inverters have earthing connection, look for it and hook it to the earth of your house. As for the panels, if your house has been properly earthed, you don't need to bother but if the panels are installed using frames, you need to buy earthing materials to earth the panels. Kdude: Okay. Are you advising I change from pmw to Mppt?
Do I necessarily need to ground/ earth my connection? If need be, the negative terminal goes the ground right? Or to earth the frame of the solar panel, inverter and then to the ground. |

You'll have 10.94A ideally but you may experience losses up to 30% or so. Remember, you'll have that optimal value at when the sun is most intense and directly focused on your solar panels. Kdude: @SolnergyPower Solar Panel Specification
Wattage: 200W Voltage: 36.6V Charge Current: 5.46A
When you connect your two solar panels in parallel, you will have
Voltage: 36.6V. The Solar Charge Controller will take only 24V from here.... Charge Current: 10.94A (5.46A x 2)
I so much admire your patience with DIY.
Kindly help my understanding here... Assuming the panels are working effectively; With the two panels in parallel now, am I to see 10.94A displayed on charge controller as calculated above or I will only see 5.46A displayed and assumed 10.94A is been delivered. (I tested the panels separately and both are working well).
Thank you. |
