You can connect two or more panels together to charge your battery or batteries via the charge controller. You'll need to consider factors like: a. Solar panels specifications b. Specifications of your charge controller c. Inverter size d. Battery bank size e. Load f. Weather Etc. Topmost11: How? One panel to one battery via controller? Two panels to one battery via controller? Two panels to three batteries via controller? etc |

What I'm offering you is BLUEGATE 3.5KVA, 24V Inverter and not Mercury. It doesn't have battery selector switch. We installed this inverter for a farm, it worked morning and evening for over a year without complaints. We have to remove it and install a solar pump when the water demands of the farm increased. We've installed quite a lot over the years. Warranty and support are top notch. You can reach me on Ca.ll/What's.App: 080.333.439.11 Malevonent: does it hv battery selector switch? i hv a bias against mecury products, their inverters are usually nor pure sine wave and their battery is nt durable, except perhaps the flooded |

Who imported second hand batteries? . The so called second hand was once new, so if you get a new one of the second hand, obviously, the new will be better. Most batteries referred to as second hand, are either telecoms companies used or a few other times banks used. The former is usually better. Original new batteries are quite expensive. The difference in cost between an original battery and an interior one can be up to 100k or even more. Abigai: Please i need clarification the imported second hand deep cycle batteries and the new deep cycle batteries which one is better, because a friend that specialize in solar said the second hand deep cycle batteries are better. This is deep. Thanks for the insight. ceaser: I had noticed that the watt consumption of appliances plugged into inverters usually changes as the battery voltage decreases with use. A 32" tv showing 42 watts when the battery is 13.2 volts eventually goes to around 48 watts when the battery voltage reaches around 12.1 volts. Of course I know that current-voltage inverse relationship, but I just didn't put much thought to it initially.
Then came the time to make a standalone solar set up for a sliding gate opener. I insisted on a DC powered variant but the Nigerian merchant convinced me of the better reliability and long lasting AC motor over DC motor, including the fact that the AC motor is easier to come by in case it needs replacement. I suspected sale gimmicks though but I had little choices since there is no local seller with DC variant on offer.
I tested the consumption on 230VAC national grid and it came to 180 watts working, 2 watts standby. To be sure it can be run by solar, I tested it on a 12volt 100amp battery solar set up and it gave the same watt consumption.
I then decided to make it's modular supply a 24 volt system. * 50 watts panel x 2 connected in series * 12v/24v 10amp PWM SCC * 7ah SMF (ups battery) x 2 connected in series. The batteries can do 4 cycles of opening and closing before the inverter beeps low voltage. * 350 watts 24volt PSW inverter.
When I tested the appliance in the set up with the wattmeter plugged in, it showed 100 watts consumption, a variance with the 180 watts it shows on 12volt system.
So basically while it still inherently consumes a standard stated power, although fictitiously altered/reduced by the increased voltage, it gives a somewhat misleading readout on the wattmeter. Reason I asked if your freezer is hooked onto a 12v or 24v system or standard grid AC when you tested the consumption. |

@hardywaltz, take the battery recommendation @Oshomo12 gave you serious. I am also talking from experience. Oshomo12: With this kind of load/system, ur batteries will die prematurely. Never use a 12v single battery for this system, get a cell, 2v 1500ah and connect them in series. Never use a 12v o, u hear me so? hardywaltz: Using 2v battery for a 360v inverter will require 180 batteries connected in series.
I doubt that's a bright idea |

We use nails. We also have flash bar (you can get this from those guy selling building materials) to seal where there is an opening that will lead to leakage. After we finished installing the panels, we access the ceiling ie in-between the roof and ceiling, this area is always dark. So if you look at the roof from inside the ceiling, you will see holes or openings if there are any, then you can seal the roof with your flash bar from inside the ceiling too. The flash bar is attached. durodee: Good one! How do you anchor those rails to the roof? Any special precaution? Thanks

Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by SolnergyPower: 9:43am On Jul 22, 2019 |
As long as the asbestos roofing sheets are still strong, you should not have any issues. You may use a roofing guy as a precautionary measure if you are not sure of the status of the asbestos. There are standard solar panels mounting kits sold here, those should help. But if you are low on budget, you can use those aluminium frames used for making windows frames as shown below. funken: Thanks!! Appreciate the swift response. Are there precautions to take when installing on an old asbestos roof? Any particular accessories that can be used in mounting these panels to asbestos roofs as against the metal roofing sheets?

3S3P. That is, a. Connect three in series, thereby making three sets of panels connected in series. b. Then, parallel the sets of series. See the image below. funken: Gurus in the house, thinking of upgrading to a 48v battery system (with 8 batteries) and with 9 250W solar panels. Worthy to Read... Solar power system that works at night a renewable energy game-changer.An innovative thermal battery being developed by Curtin University researchers will be key to a solar power system capable of producing electricity overnight, rivalling fossil fuels as a viable source of power for commercial and heavy industries around the world, including mining operations. Curtin is collaborating with international renewable energy companies United Sun Systems and ITP Thermal on the potentially game-changing project, which is being led by Professor Craig Buckley from Curtin’s School of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences. Professor Craig Buckley said the thermal battery was part of the Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) system being developed by United Sun Systems, which requires a battery to store and release energy to enable non-stop solar power generation. “Storage has long been a stumbling point for renewable energy but our prototype thermal battery is able to store and, as required, release solar energy without reliance on sunlight at all times,” Professor Buckley said. “The battery uses a high-temperature metal hydride or metal carbonate as the heat storage medium and a low temperature gas storage vessel for storing the hydrogen or carbon dioxide. “At night, and in times of cloud cover, hydrogen or carbon dioxide is released from the gas storage vessel and absorbed by the higher temperature metal to form a metal hydride/metal carbonate, which produces heat used to generate electricity.” Curtin University Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research Professor Chris Moran said the project aimed to develop a solar power system that produced electricity 24 hours a day, seven days a week and was commercially viable for industry. “As with the lithium battery systems that Curtin is also developing, the deployment of a cost-effective energy storage system using thermal batteries will revolutionise the landscape of renewable energy production world-wide by allowing renewables to truly compete with fossil fuels,” Professor Moran said. “While a lithium battery stores electrical energy that can be used to provide electricity when the sun is not shining, this thermal battery stores heat from concentrated solar thermal, which can be used when the sun is not shining to run a turbine to produce electricity.” The research aims to develop new technology to integrate thermochemical energy storage via a thermal battery into a dish-Stirling system. A dish-Stirling system can provide up to 46 kW of power and is ideal for powering remote energy intensive industries such as mine sites due to it providing power on demand and as required. Several dishes can be deployed depending on the power requirements of the site. The research project ‘Thermal Battery Development for Concentrated Solar Power Systems’ was awarded $1 million by the Federal Government through the Global Innovation Linkages Program. I think you should rather ask how he got it to work than this too many ways why-it-will-never-work! wirinet: My brother, that your contraption is very dangerous o. You could burn down your house. Li-ion batteries are the worst ones to toy with. They explode and almost nothing can quench the fire.
The idea is good but your execution is very poor. First you need to determine the voltage requirement of your fan (I suspect 6v ), you now need to connect your li-ion batteries in series to achieve around 6v. 2 li-ion batteries in series would give 7.4v nominal and 8.4v maximum. Now, you must never charge above 8.4v. I need to know the charger you are using to charge the batteries.
Laptop batteries are usually 3 batteries in series, which is 11.1 nominal and 12.6 maximum. If you are using a condemned laptop battery one of the series of cells is probably bad.
I see you bypassed the BMS. (The BMS is the small circuit cased in plastic attached to the cells). Your cells is probably out of balance. The luck you might have is that the cells could have protection circuit embedded in it which will just stop the cells from working instead of exploding. Please get someone with a knowledge of lithium batteries to look at your set up |
