Please take a look at what a 1.5HP was drawing. 1.4Kw. Any explanation for the difference compared to your calculation?

In my book 1HorsePower is 745watts so your 1.5HP pump consumes about 1.5 * 745watts ~1,118watts per hour so in 1 hour your pump would have consumed 1.118KwH.

At first glance it would appear your 4.8KwH battery store would do this load with plenty to spare but then your discharge rate is about C4 and your battery bank is likely a C20 rated battery meaning the battery bank is being discharged far more aggressively than it was designed for and may therefore die an early death..


Remember inside the batteries it is a chemical reaction that generates DC electricity so the gentler the better.
