PROLOGUE
Artemis
I watched him struggle to breathe after I killed his wolf which was a difficult thing to do because it was something that had actually been a tool of mockery but somehow, Richard had turned it to something that was now revered. He had even managed to build a pack and form a family from the curse I had placed on him. Something I had been denied of for the past three thousand years because of him.
Acheson, the man I despised so long ago was a legend and had now also become a legend at not my own expense but that of the other gods too. But that will be no longer as the memories of his victories have been erased from history forever. His tales of subduing gods will never be told by anyone. He will not be remembered: by his family, by his acts here on earth whether noble or not, by his leadership skills nor the victories he won in bringing me out from my prison. He will be remembered as nothing and for nothing! He had been chosen to be my saviour, the man to pull me from the prison I was in the first place because of his insolence. Just thinking about what I have lost because of him enraged me and so it was not so difficult anymore to kill the one thing he still had of me after he had stolen my power – his wolf. I couldn’t stand him having even the tiniest bit of my powers or what belonged to me.
His breathing slowed down visibly and his death was imminent which wasn’t surprising as gods more powerful than we could ever be had been killed by my father’s sacred weapon. It was a huge surprise that he was still breathing, which was testament to his will for vengeance and not his level of power. For without my powers and gifts, he would have been history the moment he decided to brawl with my brother.
Despite his seemingly noble ambition and his thirst for vengeance, he couldn’t have even had the faintest victory without my powers and abilities, some of which he stole. For all his bravado, he was actually a coward. Watching his pack and family desert him after I had wiped off their memories of anything concerning him permanently, his will died and so did he as his eyes closed and he stopped moving.

BlueRayDick: Oga there's nothing funny about my question. Loserpool with all Ur so called press lost the league to city despite despite playing the same 38 league matches everyone is expected to play before the league champion is decided.
I just pointed it out to u that loserpool had almost an almost injury free season and didn't win the league. Now they didn't do much in the transfer window to get other players to cover for their staring 11 in case they have injury. At least we've seen how the absence of Allison Becker has ensured they've conceded in their first 3 opening matches.
How they will cope when other key players get injured is what I'm talking about. At least city has Mahrez to play in place of Bernardo Silva, Fernadinho or Rodri playing in place of Gundogan, Stones in place of Laporte......etc.
I'm telling u while u are fixated on how strong loserpool seems on paper based on their first team, City is prepared for rainy days; which is what eventually decides the champion. ..... Yes, it was a strange decision from Liverpool not to sign players this season and an injury could derail their season but let's see: they didn't sign midfielders because of Ox and Keita, both injury prone but most times, one of them is usually fit. In the attack, they don't have quality replacements for the likes of Mane and Salah and honestly it's hard to find players of similar quality who would want to sit on the bench for them as these players are rarely ever injured. Gomes too is decent cover for VVD. They look shaky at the back currently though and the sheer number of matches they have this season might be against them at the end but it's early days. Let's wait till mid season at least and then we can return to this discussion. On paper, City are champions already but it's not always like that in reality. Remember VAR too will come to play in vital matches and that could go a long way in deciding the eventual winner. Early days bro, early days. |

Fkhalifa: They understood you, it's you who doesn't...
Some do not want him ahead of Torreira and Xhaka on any important game, they trust Xhaka 90% more, we score and concede less with Xhaka than Guen.
Some want him far from first eleven, they want him on the bench or u23 battling with Smith Rowe & Nwakwali, and if he can't still do wonders and shake Europe like the following: McTominay,Jorginho, Fred,Harry Winks, Foden and Lingard, then he should be sold asap.
I hope its clear now? Use your head or I'll ask them to ban you from here. .... ... Noted. |

Jencejyde: I will have to objectively disagree with you on this. If the coach lays emphasis on fitness, teams can be equally or even better fit than liverpool. Pressing for me has to be organized. I may hate Mourihno with my guts but the man has one of the best footballing brains ever. Our pressing is outright nonsense when players are more than 10 yards apart of each other. Pressing should be done with same movement from the man up top to the Goalkepper Once than man Upfront makes a move , simultaneously the wide men, midfield men and defense should step up higher. Sorry to say but Arsenal's press has been non in-existence for some years now. Barcelona is the greatest example of press. They are well drilled and organized in doing that. You can hardly have 3 seconds on the ball when they press. This boils down to the coach and majorly to how the players execute the press. Unfortunately one cannot say where the blame lies. Is it the coach or the players, but if you ask me. I always like to take responsibility as a player and i would say some of our players currently cannot be relied upon to press with co-ordination. One person that pressed well for us and i was mad when he left was Sanchez. Hate him or love him, he had his faults in giving away possession at times but if only the team around him were able to press in co-ordination with him. Im sure we would have won away at top six teams which we haven't in the past six years or so.
Now Mancity have players with exceptional ball retention and distribution abilities that have awesome awareness with simple one or two touch football to break any press, (closest we had then was Santi who by the way still won Villareal Player of the season. What a player!) But even mancity or any team at that will eventually make mistakes if pressed continuously with precision. We have seen Liverpool do it to them in the Champs league so it can be done. Problem is i really do not think we have the personnel plus i really do not know if this fits in with the overall philosophy of the coach. ... I love this post. ....Yes, I said we pressed in some games last season although not for the entire duration of the match which I think is due to the players available. Wenger's system is completely different to that of Emery's and that's where the problems lies. Unfortunately we are not City, so we can't just get the players needed for the new coach demands but we are getting there. I watched Sanchez do that a lot and his fellow players would reluctantly follow his gesture only to stop later. When Lacazette came in against Liverpool, he came in and gestured for the guys to press the ball from high up the pitch. I would love to see this from Arsenal consistently but let's not kid ourselves, it will take time and if not properly implemented, could cause muscle injuries. .... Against Chelsea where we won 2-0 and against Tottenham too where we should have won, there was a glimpse of that pressing and organization we all want to see regularly. I will wait for our full backs to be back and our front three to click too and we also need constant mobility in that Midfield, something we saw against Burnley before drawing conclusions. Let's see what the coach will do between now and mid season bro. |

BlueRayDick: U seem to a regard loserpool so much. Yet u fail to see a man city team that has stocked enough players to play the whole season and beyond. Man city have a first team that is good and a 2nd team that is nearly as good as loserpool's first team.
Why u focus solely on Losperpool I never know, but u should know there's a reason loserpool never won the league last season even with a fuuky fit Allison Becker in blistering form.
Loserpool will definitely fall apart when injury creeps in, but same can't be said of city who have at least two above average players playing each position on the field.
I don't knkw how loserpool will survive 4 weeks without van Djik and Sallah. .... I don't think you followed my conversation with Jencejyde. My response was about Liverpool's players fitness in comparison with ours and the rest of teams in the league although I stated clearly there that I might be wrong. ... I think it's funny for you to ask why I would regard a team that was only behind city last season with one point and surpassed us with more than 25 points. They have also been to the UCL finals twice with Klopp and won the champions League in their second attempt at getting there with him. They could have won the double last season in another time. Their champions League success is what Guardiola has been unable to achieve despite having a supposed better squad of players. I am not taking anything from Mancity, they are scary good but despite the fact that Arsenal fans hate to admit it, Liverpool are one of the best football teams on the planet currently. Arguably, top 3. .... Yes, Liverpool will struggle without Salah and VVD but just like Auba, these players hardly get injured. Some teams just have good luck like that. I still wish we had gotten klopp then when he was available but nothing man fit do now, we just to hope for the best with Emery. |

Jencejyde: The way i refer to aggression in this context is saying, "we need to close spaces quickly and not allow any livepool player time on the ball" When teams do warm up, the purpose is mainly to get them up to speed before the game so it beats me when our team still starts slow. In hindsight, when we look at the game against burnley. Burnley was unto us from the whistle. the pressed us endlessly form Minute 1 to 90. Unfortunately they do not posses the quality we do which is why they are still below par but effort and discipline from them was spot on. same cannot be said of our team most times. Agreed that our failure to put away those chances could have changed the scope of the game but since we did not score, why not still put pressure on them with quickly closing space and forcing more errors. A top team should must not allow an opposing team player more than 5 seconds on the ball. Some liverpool players could stay with the ball for more than 20 seconds in that game and no one would close them down. Again i will agree with you on the setup of the team which i believe overworked the midfield players, what on earth were do they doing having to close both flanks and at the same time cover the midfield? Its really bizarre. I am not one for tactics cos all i ever played against any team was pure 4-4-2 and it does not matter who the opponent was . I can assure you they cannot get more than 5 seconds on the ball in the midfield or my attacking third. That was a guarantee! So when i see our players allowing the opponents so much time, i just feel sick within. It makes me wonder what fitness levels they have and what the coach really wants. Well the jury is out on emery as he starts his second season for us to know what he really demands. Remember also when OX was sold to liverpool that the fitness regime at liverpool were surprised at how unfit he was and had to take him through a whole new fitness programme to get him up to speed to play the way Klopp demands. So many things yet to be done to get us back to that level we ought to be but i guess it may take more time than imagined .... I don't think there is a team in England that can keep up with Liverpool (I stand to be corrected), they are just that fit and it took years for them to reach that level. We pressed a lot early last season but I think perspective changed and the coach decided to go for results rather than enforcing somethings and he has carried that too to this season as well although it's still early times as a number of first team players are either out injured or not yet match fit. And it will also depend on the tactics of the manager, we won't be seeing that tactic against Liverpool for a while. |

kokanepyramid: No one here said he can’t improve, but trying to overhype his performance while comparing him with Torreira, etc and attacking those that don’t rate him was uncalled for.
Secondly, u can’t be patient with a player at the detriment of team results, he can come on as sub in EPL games and gradually grow into the games + there is the FA CUP, EFL and Europa.
What some don’t understand is Guen will come and go, the fact that he will improve is probable too as it’s not a certainty. He can even improve and decide to leave the club for a higher bidder, while we’ve suffered poor runs in the past just for him to grow. ..... I don't think you understand what I and a few guys perspective and point of view on this subject is just yet. No one said that Guen is better than Torreira currently, that would be blasphemy but can you guys at least acknowledge he does something right. If he plays well, he is useless, if he doesn't, it's the same thing. There are several weaknesses to his game as well as other midfielders in our team. I don't think he was brought in to start immediately but lack of midfielders has necessitated that and so he has to learn on the field. He is not perfect yet and still very raw but tagging him useless like he offers the team absolutely nothing is the reason for calling some of you guys out. Nothing more. Comparing him to the likes of Walcott and co is not fair as those had years upon years to prove what they could and they couldn't. This new admin won't be so lenient. |

Spy360: I never really expected much from the game. A point at Anfield is approx. 6points total. My interest was to assess how much we have improved as a team. And I am quite impressed, especially with the development of youngsters like Willock and Guendouzi. They are not there yet, but the potentials are there.
A fit Torriera could have started though, he offers much in terms of intensity, drive and stamina. In all, I always leave a coach to his decisions. There are other reasons for selection which we can never tell; such as psychology, motivation and drive. .... Very true, some of the fans don't understand this. We can't really tell the exact fitness levels of some of these players, which is why I asked why risk valuable players for just a game when there are plenty more to come this season? They misinterpreted my post to mean that a former ligue 2 player is better than an established ex - Seria á player. SMH. .. ...Theoretically, we are competing for four trophies but in reality it's three. We are not competing for the EPL but rather for champions qualification and should we defeat Tottenham this weekend which I expect as they are completely decimated in terms of injuries and dressing room issues, it will be 9 points out of a possible 12. I don't think that will be a bad start to the season. Anyways, unto the next game now, Liverpool is gone, Spurs are next. |

Spy360: Good points you guys have noted. We need more quality discuss here bordered on facts and opinions rather than emotions and sentiments.
Better use of English too.
It is a thing of joy to have the headache of selection for any manager. It allows for more tactical fluency and exchange.
Torriera, Xhaka, Willock, Guendouzi and Ceballos are our main midfielders this season (at least so far) and to be honest I am quite impressed of the performances and development. Any three could start a game depending on the tactics and give us quality results. Though they all have their strengths and weaknesses, yet I think they compliment each other well.
Against Spurs, I would like to see a Xhaka, Ceballos, Torriera combo, with Auba, Laca and Pepe ahead of them.
On the Liverpool game, If only Emery had introduced Laca earlier- with score still at 1-0, which would have allowed Auba and Pepe move to the wings, and our fullbacks to push up a little and keep those Liverpool's fullbacks on check, game probably would have taken a different turn. Regrets. .... Bro, the outcome of that Liverpool game pained so many fans but it was the tactics used by the coach that made it seem like we could actually beat Liverpool. We might have superior technical players in midfield compared to Fabinho and co but ours couldn't match their fitness. On another day, the match could have ended in a draw and we would all hail Emery but that didn't happen. .... Klopp already predicted that Xhaka would start and if Torreira was fit, I think he would have started too. So he could guess with a great degree of accuracy how we were going to set up against his team and according to Arnold, his prediction was correct. I think we pushed for the equaliser early the second half and we got punished as a result. Monreal who doesn't have the legs to run anymore was caught high up the pitch and since Luiz was already on a yellow, Salah was allowed to do his thing. Playing against Liverpool is difficult especially because of their front three and our ineffective fullbacks. Emery's plan was good and would have been the best way to beat Liverpool or perhaps get a draw but little mistakes ruined everything. He didn't want to change tactics quickly in the game since we were already trailing as that could back fire and the match could end in a cricket score and he also didn't want to ruin a working plan at 1 - 0, after all Liverpool had scored from a corner not open play. It's easy for fans to say he could have done this and that, but it's not easy in reality as Klopp is a very smart man in his own right. ... Regrets sure, but it wasn't as bad as it has been portrayed by some of the fans. |

Roland17: Baba, please tell me you are joking with what you just posted about Torreria up there!!!! You obviously typed these untrue comments to accommodate the now despicable excesses of Guendouzi and when he is called out for not being good enough to start games, you have resorted to belittling Torreira to the irresponsible point. Torreira is a totally different player from Kante, Kante can not boast of the Torreira's ball technique and passing range neither can Torreira match Kante's defensive attributes but it does not mean Torreira is not a good DM/ CM. Torreira is a very good defensively but has better offensive upside. Torreira offers more than Kante in today's game and it is not surprising as to why Chelsea under Sarri started playing him higher up the pitch with hopes that he develops some offensive skills which Torreira has in abundance. I love this team passionately and have a lot invested in it outside of my emotions and that is why I support everyone in the team but I detest when you put down a player so the other can look better and that is what you are doing outrightly. I am one who protects my players in the face of brash criticisms but I never fail to call them out including players that I have a special feeling for.
"A fit and handy Torriera will come handy", "A liability on the pitch"! What in the name of football do these mean? So we should keep our best midfielder on the bench because we need him in the long haul and then continue to rotate between Willock, Guen, and Xhaka? Common man!!!!!!! this is becoming nauseating to read and disrespectful to the team. Torreira started the game against Liverpool at the Emirates and performed excellently, we got a result in that game. Is it a surprise that after Torreira was introduced to the line up last season, we actually started picking points and looking potent? But somehow because your golden boy did not start either game you want to heap all the blame of the loss at Anfield on Torreira? ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW? Let me make it very clear, if your attempt is to compare Torreira with Guendouzi, I will tell you that Torreira is a demon and the pinnacle of Guen's game at this time can not lace the sole of Torreira's worst. Honestly, if for some reason Torreira leaves Arsenal because he is unhappy with his playing situation, I will never forgive Emery and your likes. I know you love your Guendouzi so do I and many other fans but the global consensus including your favorite Reddit is that Torreira should not be sacrificed for him or anyone for that matter.
No be everything/ opinion you read on www.reddit.com especially the ones that support your school of thought about the team, you go come carry post, word for word for here.
Accept my apologies if this post comes off aggressive and I hope it does not change your opinion about your preferred players because after all, we are all entitled to our respective opinion(s). ..... You can't tell me what to post and what not to post as regards my team, no be you get this thread. Whether from Reddit or other blogs, I can post what I like. Do I tell you what to post? What nonsense. I do not accept your apology. ... As to the matter we are discussing; you didn't counter anything I posted up there about Torreira. Did he fade towards the tail of the season or not? Was he the same player that started the last season on fire? The answer is no. ... Do we have better midfielders currently than they do at Chelsea? The answer is no. When we played at Anfield last season, was he responsible for 1 or 2 of their goals? The answer is yes. What has bias or whatever you are accusing me of in your post have to do with the facts posted. I posted Torreira should be managed properly because from last season, overusing him burned him out. This is a long season, why rush him in because of one game since we all know his importance in the team? Where's the logic in that? .... Never have I posted here that I would rather see Guen or Willock or even Xhaka start ahead of a fit and able Torreira, so what is this unnecessary aggressive epistle about? Would Torreira have done better against Liverpool's press yesterday? Perhaps; but from the last time we were there, he didn't and that's the yardstick I used in assessing what he could and couldn't have done yesterday. FYI, If I am to choose between Kante and Torreira, I will choose the former. .... Everyone to his own opinion, if you have a different one, post it and we can all discuss it. That's why this is a forum. Honestly, if I say I am not disappointed with your approach to how you have responded to a different perspective than yours this evening, I will be lying. Maybe Losperpool will try to press like they always do, but City too will beat the press like they alwasys do. The rule won't be handing loserpool any easy route ..... I think Pool underestimated Chelsea in that game and they nearly paid dearly for it. Compared to ours, Chelsea have a better midfield than we do especially in beating the press. .... ..... Some fans were like start Torreira, he is like our Kante.. Lol.... Wasn't Torreira so damn pressed at Anfield last season that he lost possession in that capitulation? Even in yesterday's game, he was bundled off the ball a few times.
.... This same Torreira faded badly last season after a good start and I think Emery doesn't want to make that same mistake again where Lukas was overused that he became a liability on the pitch. A fit and well managed Torreira will come in handy for us this season but it will be incorrect to say we didn't transit with the ball well or lost the match because he didn't start. The result would have been more or less the same even if he started or not. |

Jencejyde: People mentioned Xhaka played better in the second half which i agree but my question is this. Why not start with that same intensity in the first 15 to 20 mins of any game? Its not until you concede a goal or the other team takes their foot of the pedal that you now start playing aggressively. The first 15 to 20 mins of any football game is critical. A game could be over in 20 mins if one is careless and these set of arsenal players are guilty of this again and again. The mentality should be to match the aggression of the opponent very early on in the game. A goal changes everything and if with decent aggression we come up with a goal even against the run of the play, then the impetus is on the opposition to try and get on level terms which will make it a more open game. Anytime i watched Barcelona play (xavi and iniesta days) and they score a goal against the opposition, i just tune off because for me its game over, but when the opposition scores first, then for me, its going to be a very interesting game. Arsenal need to start games strong, its shows weak all round character in a team when you cant lift yourselves to match the opposition aggression in the first 15 to 20 mins of any game. We have seen it even at the emirates that until maybe we go one down or flurry of attacks on our goal, it's only then that they realize they have come to play. We cant keep starting games like that. Eventually there will be games where it takes just one goal and they lock it down for us to lose all three points regardless of the opposition. ...... Xhaka's performance was a bit confusing. Different platforms gave him different scores, some said he was the best midfielder in our team that day, others gave it to Guendouzi until Lukas came in. I don't think it's about aggression, our case was actually trying to give what we didn't really have. We played exactly to the demands of the coach but started to gas out closer to the end of the first half, just before they scored. The extra work on the midfielders, moving back and forth across the lines drained them. .... It wasn't exactly not being aggressive, it was the attackers failing to score that kept us on the backfoot more than the coach anticipated and his refusal to change tactics because Liverpool were still coming at us and leaving space behind for Pepe and Auba. When the third goal went in, Emery knew that his tactics had failed. We just didn't take our chances to open up the game and usher in Emery's next plans in Torreira and Laca to make it end to end stuff. |

BlueRayDick: How exactly will they suffer?
City switch play more than anybody. All those pressure loserpool mounted on arsenal that yielded result was because arsenal doesn't have the right players to play what Emery was trying to do. All those Guendouzi,Xhaka cannot transit the ball to the forwards as quickly as dem Debruyne, Gundogan do.
Forget all those press loserpool do, playing high line defence. They will be conservative against city and wouldn't leave sterling or Barnado Silva to Van Djik like dem Auba yesterday. ...... Right there is the difference. They switch play really well. They played high balls to exploit spaces left by Liverpool's fullbacks a lot which means that Liverpool's press also gets to them which is struggling to me from playing from the back. Everyone knows Pep prefers passing from the back but if it's not working, they can easily switch play. My point was that Liverpool's press won't make it easy for them to pass from the back not impossible. |

BlueRayDick: Oga u are not really getting my point. I said the new goal kick rule makes play easier for teams who are very good at playing from the back( which obviously arsenal is not one of). If u've watched city play this season u will understand what I mean, how easy it is for Ederson to pass to Laporte or anybody that plays at center back and transit the ball forward. I think somethingike that happened in that spurs match.
Arsenal does not have the right set of players to play from the back against ordinary burnley, na dem wan come play from back against loserpool? The rule or no rule, arsenal will fall under pressure playing from the back with a player like Maitland Niles at RB .... Okay. But I still maintain that City will struggle to play out of the back with this new rule against a team like pool when they meet again soon. |

BlueRayDick: On the contrary. The rule makes it easier for u to build from the back if u are good at it like dem city.
It will only be difficult for a wannabe team .... Are you kidding? Liverpool nearly killed us because of that and it affected our play badly as we just couldn't move the ball the manner we wanted at all. We were dispossessed 8 times in our defensive third alone in the first half with Niles and Ceballos the major culprits. The latter was so damn pressed around the box, he passed straight to Mane. I tell you if City play Liverpool this season, they will find it difficult to pass from the back as they used to. |

Dreamswayne: What new goal kick rule is that? What is the new goal-kick rule change? Fans will now see players in the penalty area other than the goalkeeper at goal kicks. That is because those taking the goal kick can now pass the ball to their teammate while in the box. ..... Yet, opposing players will still need to stay outside the area - but can enter as soon as the ball is in play. .... If a team tries to take the goal-kick quickly, opponents can be in the box, but must not interfere. .... https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/9651860/goal-kick-rule-change-new-football-rules-2019-20/ |

Fkhalifa: Teams like Newcastle after having spent that much, won't respect you because you are a big team I said this league isn't the hardest in the world for nothing..
Not all 3 points will be easy, gone are those days big teams roll over the mid tables..
I'm sure Poch would have preferred 3 points to domination..
Even Burnley nearly won at Wolves Every game should be like a final, 3 points 1st before anything else.
Ask utd fans what they felt from Palace. ..... I tell you. The days of pride and respect us gone. What administration want to see is results. I remember when football fans were mocking Guardiola for playing from the back and Liverpool with their style of play that won them nothing but look at them today now. ... Poch has players that might leave and that is affecting them. Their midfield is currently worse than hers, their current fullbacks are near useless and their defense in disarray. Their attack too, no chemistry. The earlier they find solution to the players expected to leave and the squad settles down, the better for them. Today, Newcastle had more shots on target than them and that tells a lot. I expect an Arsenal masterclass against them but then it's a derby and football these days is no longer 1 + 1, something as you rightly said some fans here are yet to come in terms with. .... Teams in the EPL have more money than before and can get good players that will give the top teams a run for their money too. ... It's important to mention that the new goal kick rule makes passing from the back very difficult and that aided Liverpool yesterday but I trust that when our fullbacks return, it will be better. |

.... Newcastle frustrated Tottenham today sha. Serious frustration. I expect a cracker of a derby next weekend. We might have played conservatively against Liverpool but surely not against Tottenham. We might not see Monreal against them as he might be sold before then. Another problem for Emery if that happens. ... So it's going be Never won the Champions League Vs Never won anything next week... |

Fkhalifa: Emery no want media attention this week, he knew they were going to be busy on utd and Solkjer,
1-2 loss to palace go get more headlines than 3-1 to European champions..
Its still this same fans that will call for his sack and call him Wenger 2.0, you'd seen stuffs like, where's the mental strength, Rubbish our transfer activities and put unrest in the dressing room.
The most important thing is win all the easier games, try and get at least draw on tough 4/5 grounds and forget anything at Etihad and Anfield. But they will call me a pessimist. .... To hell with their tags. That's surely the plan bro. After Tottenham and the international break, the teams we are playing are all beatable until Manchester United. |

Fkhalifa: I hated that we faced Liverpool too early, poor Ceballos that's still settling jejely, they showed him fire at Anfield, Torreira looks better now on that ground, Na all of them gather suffer last year..
Even the Ozil,Xhaka, Ramsey they mentioned, chop several cricket scores together, abeg let's hear word, I'll rather be patient with this kids than those scammers. ... Lol, like Ozil and Ramsey wasn't there when Liverpool and Chelsea were steamrolling us 6 something. Wenger isn't a coach too na? .... Where was Laca and Auba and Torreira when we were embarrassed at the final last season? I will take a pragmatic 3 - 1 than serious thrashing in the name of being an attacking team. Unto the next one. |

Fkhalifa: I dont see the point in being “brave” if you are in reality just getting slaughtered. When we have done well away against big teams, we played more compact. It’s fun in theory to think a wide open game will mean we win, but we’ve already seen how that goes because Wenger has done it so many times and failed so many times.
The above is fans opinion that explains it more, I noticed Chelsea, utd and Spurs keep it tight and lose honourably against superior teams. Wenger's philosophy of we are an attacking team, go out and play them was the reason for our cricket scores...
What I hate the most is trashing 5-1, 6-0 haba, it dents confidence and affects team's psychology. I hate seeing - minus on our goal difference. ..... You are one of the few reasonable and realistic fans on this thread. Respect Baba. .... ... Imagine going to a London Derby coming back from a 5 or 6 goal thrashing. 3 - 1 is a decent score and won't get into the boys head. .... Emery choked the midfield and forced Liverpool strictly to the wings which little or nothing came out from until that header. Our defense suddenly didn't become better with Luiz, no rather we simply play out better. Luiz lost his man for Burnley's goal last week and today he was at fault for two. Him being on a yellow card prevented him from committing a tactical foul on Salah. Honestly, we need our fullbacks back and Holding too. He has to bench one of Papa or Luiz. Once our defense is a bit more stable, I believe getting the proper midfielders and structure to play according to the demands of the coach will be easier. |

Fkhalifa: They only looked matchable with our tactics, we made their attack ordinary and defence prone to counters, I dey you if we had attacked them, it will be 5 in our net, you don't allow mane and Sallah to run at Anfield, they ill kill you, is it Niles or Montreal that'll survive their pace?
This was mourinho's tactics those days in big away games, he either gets his result or lose honourably he allows you dominate him, but his deadly forwards will kill the game off, unfortunately Our forwards blundered it..
Our midfielders sat too deep and we had no attacking player among them, only ceballos and he didn't look sharp today.
Though Torreira is sharper and better than the rest,he should have been brought on earlier on. ..... Ceballos didn't come to the party at all. He had 42 touches all game. It was a woeful performance. I think Emery should have thrown caution to the wind and started Mkhi. He is better at that Position than Ceballos. But if he didn't start Ceballos today, the fans would have had a similar meltdown like now. .... Auba had 32 touches while Pepe had over 50. Auba too was missing today. ... The midfield sat deep to protect Xhaka and protect the fullbacks. It was double load on the youngsters, they don't have the stamina for that. I am surprised that some of our fans can be so biased and blind to see what was truly happening on the field. |
