LET'S GET THIS CLEARIFIED NOW...
Presidential election
Article 134 (2) of the Nigerian Constitution
stipulates that a presidential candidate will be
duly elected after attaining both the highest
number of votes cast; and has received at least a
quarter of the votes at each of at least two-thirds
of all the states and the Federal Capital Territory
(FCT) of Abuja. If no candidate satisfies the
requirement, a second election will be held
between the two leading candidates within seven
days from the pronouncement of the result.[9]

Buhari has Passed all the criteria already.

ChristVicmall! Hmmmm! See I have stopped using them all together since last year, after my a bad personal experience with them.
After I place order for just one kg goods n they for no reason had to divide and send it 2times, making me pay 1kg for each and after I stil discovered my good was not complete.
There were the one owning me yet they stil send me text that am owning then every morning for the past 1years but never bothered about my goods that was incomplete.
Am not here so spoil ur biz or name o (which I obviously can not do as i am a biz person too) but its was so painfull because after the goods were delayed n splitted I hard to refund the total money to my client who wanted and has paid for the items and I stil couldn't get the complete good couple with the fact that CVM stil send me a text everyday dat I owe them N130 (imagine) Ifeanyi will stil open his big mouth to ask for 2k so sent item dats is worth less dan 5k down to akure with truck already bound for akure from alaba what won't cost up to 1k? So sad dat Victor and elena can't employ enough pple to take care of customer complaints and also leave all clearing to ifeanyi with check mating his excesses...

@CVM My username is SolomonSojay in case u want to proof me wrong check my order history and let me send all d screenshot I have from years back+my mail to you about the whole issue last year which u obviously ignored as always. Anyways, gone are those days....

Now that crude oil is N49 per barrel with all other things being equal, what is the expected price of petrol per litre?

Jonathan: N87.

Teacher: Pls who award PhD to this man who doesn't know simple arithmetic?

Teacher: buhari what is d answer?

Buhari: sir, the only items that change is price, so our change formular is;
 If N119 changed to N49
Then N97 will CHANGE to N27

Teacher: But they said u don't have certificate?

Buhari: it's a simple arithmetic, even market woman can solve it.

Teacher: Chai chai..... we need CHANGE...

Even if change is inevitable, its not. buari/osibanjo dat will effect such.

It was $119 and now its $48 per barrel

I will say this with all humility, don't just assume you know anything expect otherwise you are dame sure you can go the distance,
Every smart person knows what to say @ every points in time but ONLY a WISE person know when to say it or when to keep silent.
Its obvious from your monkwaitic display while trying to show u are knowledgeable enough to take a subject that less than 5% of nigerians can bold use effectively, what a cray move!
Pls stick what those things you know and stop quoting past and present tense when is comes to english language skills...its not secondary school here.
This is SPARTA...L:pL...cheesy

You are very ignorant of what tyou are saying.
=
Who said English can't be bad?
Respecting the use of 'spirit of english' it is apt there. Your interpretation of it as a clanger when you said that English has no spirit was gross. So OP was right with that usage. It's analogous to saying ' in the spirit of oneness'. Do you now say that oneness has no spirit?
=
I could deduce that you have got just a smattering of the language hence should not throw stones since you live in a glass house.
Cheers.
MRAbudant:

your errors are much worse than the poster's own, because of your ignorance.
The poster did try to create awareness about the wrong use of english language with sincere intentions bt u took hold of the situation by disseminating misconceptions of grammar.
it might interest you to know that, the use of 'sure' as an adjunct is incorrect.
I am nt sure if u understood the real concept of concord, because, you would have known the right tenses of 'portray' to use if u did.
There is indeed something like good or bad english, jst because u have ineffective knowledge of words and their real meanings, does not delineate that u have to rebuff them.
in the parted I quoted, using a verb or an adjective as a noun is a grave offence, bro.
The last time I checked, there was no word like statment, maybe you meant to type statement
write up is nt an open compound word when it is a noun bt a hyphenated one, write-up.
finally, you should have sticked to the proverb that says: he who has no sin should cast the first stone, instead of being absolutely mean by writing him off with your repellent and detestable post.

1st of all, its was a humble correction from me to the op.
It is very funny how these secondary school pupil tries to proof they are wise, and all they end up doing is a display of outright foolishness.
(learners)
When I earlier said"I stand to be wisely corrected". I didn't expect to see this monkwaitical display of foolishness. Well, its a forum afterall, where the foolish ones are also allowed a chance to show just how stupid they are, so people can truly know that common sense is not common.
U can't just open a dico n hope to suddenly know the rudiments of english, so you can proof others wrong when infact you have no concept of the subject matter, its something that must have been cultivated right from childhood.
Pls, I STAND TO BE WISELY CORRECTED...NO MORE SHOW OF FOOLISHNESS!

Keenysbojan:
I have been wondering why Nigerian students always use the word 'i was like ok' in every of their saying... I found it difficult to believe that 'i was like ok' is a correct short sentence, in English...

because I have sat down and think about this all over and over and over, and through research I found that there is no short sentence in English, like 'i was like ok'.. but some Nigerians are so terrible when it comes to the aspects of speaking or writing standard English...

A student of unilorin came to meet my big bro at home, and he said I have been trying your number since I left Lagos and I WAS LIKE OK LET ME CALL YOUR YOUNGER BROTHER TO CONFIRM..

immediately,I felt the 'spirit of bad English' in what he said above... since then I have been searching,I have been asking those who are highly educated and those who study English in universities.. if the use of I WAS LIKE OK is good to speak..

to nairelanders do any of you have anything to say about this topic... share your own points of view and let some 'BAD English speaker(s)' learn from you.. thanks

Yours Faithfully
k e e n y s b o j a n

SIr OP.
With all humility, I don't quite understand why you started this thread sef!

You said and I quote "immediately,I felt the
"spirit of bad English' in what he said above". If your main reason was to question why most Nigerian students hardly speak correct english, then you sure have a big problem with presentation which equally portray your poor english language skills.

If you don't mind sir, I will gladly support my arguments with a few salient points.

1. There is NOTHING like GOOD or BAD English like you said in the parted I quoted earlier.
Its either its CORRECT or INCORRECT English.

2. English has NO spirit hence, bad english spirit can not be in a statment. 'also quoting from your statement'. Am sure u just wanted to say u weren't too sure if that clause was ok for the intended purpose in which it was used.

3. Seeing all the flaws in your write up and studying various poorly placed patterns in your writing skills, I SAY WITH ALL HUMILITY...you DO NOT have the intellectual capacity to dabble into a topic such as this which tries to invalidate the proficiency of somone's use of a language such as the western english.

I rest my case.
but knowing that there is not one who is perfect...I STAND TO BE "WISELY" CORRECTED.

eyeview: This is a woman who at her age should have drawn closer to her maker but she instead uses her show to make derogatory statement against God and Jesus christ. A woman who at her age should have been contented with her looks after countless plastic surgeries, but she keep subjecting herself to more plastic and enhancing surgeries. Its sad that she never made it alive from this last one, its sadder that she died at the peak of vanity. It would be saddest if she didn't make peace with that God she fondly mocked while her other vain friends and transgenders laughed.
I would have said Rest in Peace but I would be lying if she didn't know God.
