Science/Technology / Human Arm And Leg Found In A Crocodile's Belly In Indonesia (Photos) by Solomonudofia(m): 3:16pm On Mar 03, 2018
The man-eater: Human arm and a leg are found inside 20ft crocodile, two days after plantation worker went missing in Indonesia.

*The crocodile is shot close to a river where the plantation worker went missing
*Police say they found his arm and his leg inside the crocodile's stomach
*The incident happened in Kalimantan, in the Indonesian part of Borneo

A human leg and arm have been found inside the belly of a huge crocodile suspected of mauling a man to death in Borneo, Indonesian police have said.

Authorities shot and killed the 20-foot-long crocodile close to a riverbank where a local palm oil plantation worker had gone missing two days earlier, with only his motorbike and sandals found at the site, they said.

The search ended Thursday when 36-year-old Andi Aso Erang's lifeless body - missing two limbs - was discovered floating in a different part of the river in Kalimantan, the Indonesian part of Borneo.

Romance / 5 Spicy Sex Position To Remove Boring From Sex Life by Solomonudofia(m): 3:45pm On Mar 02, 2018
It’s normal, after a while everything becomes boring, in relationships, sex too can be become a routine, just like taking out trash, there is nothing exciting there, just a normal task.

That’s why we (ClintGist Team) ar here, if you’ve found yourself in this type of situation, here are sex positions that can help you bring back the spark into your sex, as recommended by Jill Hamilton, Cosmopolitan.

1. The view

The name of this sex position is quite funny but it’s also very true because the man has the best view in the room. It’s a reverse cowgirl sex position, she straddles him backing the upper part of his body while he lies down, she can begin to move slowly, like she is twerking over his waist. The view comes into play here, as he watches his own dick appear and disappear into her vagina. Try it today.

2. The hickory switch

This is a chance to be playful, this is for the guy. This is the doggy position with some few things added to it. Now, stay with me, while in doggy position, put in a couple of thrusts, then pull out the dick, use it to spank the ass a couple of times, after doing this, rub the shaft over the vulva before putting it back in again. Notice her body and how she responds to this.

3. Sitting 69

69 is one of the most uncomfortable sex positions ever but with these few tweaks, it can be bearable. The guy sits at the edge of the bed then she straddles him with head in his laps, the guy then lifts her up so that the private parts are in close proximity with each other’s face. Make sure to be careful while doing this.

4. The spinner

You will need a swing set for this, so if you don’t, you can be creative but remember safety is key. The lady puts her feet on the seat so that her ass is out, the guy penetrates. The guy can then spin back and forth, just remember to be careful, it is possible to break a penis. Don’t go too fast, be careful, remember not to get carried away.

5. The squeeze box

For the exercise craze ladies, they will love this. This will help her do squats and kegels while having sex. She squats over the guy with the tip of the dick just inside the vagina. Let it hover for a second, then go down, doing the kegel around the penis inside her. It will feel very good, just ask the guy.

matured minds pls....

Romance / 5 Intimate Things About Sex Guys Hide From Ladies by Solomonudofia(m): 9:18pm On Mar 01, 2018
Men are thought to be low on emotions when it comes to sex. We bottle up emotions and all that but the truth is that there are things that we also feel a certain way about sex.

Ladies, here are some things that we notice during sex but may not be bold enough to tell you.

1. Cuddle after sex SOME TIMES

I’ll grant you that, a lot of guys after sex, we want to fall asleep and move to the next phase of the day. We also want to cuddle sometimes especially for the married folks. The feeling of your warmth on his body makes the sleep even better. For random sex, he’ll want to go away as quickly as possible. There you have it, we also love to cuddle.

2. Your confidence says it all.

Men are visual people in nature. If you’re confident about yourself and your body, guys will barely notice. The same ways guys notice ladies who are happy and active in a gathering compared to one just in the corner. Being confident about yourself is quite a lot of sexiness in itself.

3. We don’t really like sex in the shower or on the beach

I know we misled you on that, we like that but let’s be honest, they’re both overrated and require a lot of work for the lazy people. If there is a way sand won’t get into uncomfortable places, we might do it more often. Also, if there is some sort of equipment that can be installed in the bathroom, we would be totally down for it.

4. Not in the mood

The social construct is that men are always in the mood for sex. News flash! Sometimes we’re not in the mood for sex, could be a bad day, headache or any other factor. Due to the pre-conception that men are always Hot that we can have sex every minute of every day, it is simply not true, sometimes we just want to rollover and go to sleep.

5. We’re not cool with your toys.

Honestly, there is no way we can cope with your vibrator, shit offers 6,000rpm, no human can except the Flash, but that’s fiction. For our ego sake, kindly put away your intimacy gadgets. We don’t need to see rabbit but that’s not all of us, some men are secure around intimacy gadgets.

Get your man’s opinion about intimacy gadgets and use the information judiciously.

Sports / 2018 FIFA World Cup, Fans Will Be Allowed To Carry Cocaine, Cannabis To Stadium by Solomonudofia(m): 8:38pm On Mar 01, 2018
Fans attending matches during the 2018 FIFA World Cup will be allowed to enter the stadiums with cocaine, cannabis and heroin, it has been revealed.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicks off in Russia on Thursday, June 14 and will be played all through to Sunday, July 15.

Ahead of the summer tournament, a Moscow-based Union has discovered a loophole which allows fans to carry certain narcotics into the country.

Permitted needed

However, these hard drugs can only be allowed into the stadium if the fan can provide authentic medical paperwork from a nurse or doctor

Countries from the Eurasian Economic Union, including Russia, allows certain hard drugs to be brought into the country with a doctor or nurse recommendation which must be written in either English or Russian.

Fans also carrying certain narcotics will also need to fill out a custom form on arrival in the 2018 FIFA World Cup host country Russia.

To allow these narcotics into the stadium, a special law enforcement agency is to be put together by World Cup committee to verify supporter’s paperwork.

“Security officers will monitor the enforcement of rules for carrying prescription drugs to stadium grounds at checkpoints,” a quote from the committee read

Politics / Sridevi Kapoor, Every Thing You Need To Know About Her Life, Death And Funeral by Solomonudofia(m): 2:41pm On Mar 01, 2018

Bollywood actress Sridevi Kapoor’s funeral has taken place in Mumbai, giving her fans the chance to say goodbye to the film icon. The Indian movie star died after suffering a heart attack and then ‘accidentally drowning’ it has been ruled. Sridevi was known for being Bollywood’s first female superstar, who first hit the big screen in the 1960s. Reports claim she was attending her nephew’s wedding in Dubai when she suffered the fatal heart attack on 24 February.

Her husband was in their hotel suite at the time, and knocked then forced open the door to see the actor ‘lying motionless in a bathtub full of water’, according to the Khaleej Times. ‘He tried to revive her and when he could not, he called a friend of his. After that, he informed the police at 9pm,’ the report says, quoting a source. The death was confirmed by Sridevi’s brother-in-law, actor Sanjay Kapoor, who told IANS: ‘Yes, it is true.’ She was 54 at the time of her death. Sridevi was born Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan in Tamil Nadu, a south Indian state, and she began acting at the tender age of four.

In 1979 she made her Bollywood debut in Solva Sawan (16th Spring), and four years later she secured her reputation in Hindi film with another role in Balu Mahendra’s Sadma (Shock). Her other movies include Chaalbaaz (Trickster), Lamhe (Moments), Himmatwala (The Courageous One), Chandni (Moonlight), and Shekhar Kapur’s Mr India. Her characters were often much more feisty, funny and outspoken than the stereotypical Bollywood heroine.

Sridevi married film producer husband Boney Kapoor, 62, in 1996, and they had two daughters together, before Sridevi returned to film in 2012’s English Vinglish and most recently in 2017 movie Mom. The actress was given the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian awards, for her services to the film industry in 2013. So influential was Sridevi that the Indian Prime Minister has released a statement about her death.

PM Narendra Modi tweeted: ‘Saddened by the untimely demise of noted actor Sridevi. She was a veteran of the film industry, whose long career included diverse roles and memorable performances. My thoughts are with her family and admirers in this hour of grief.’ Meanwhile Indian actress and Baywatch star Priyanka Chopra tweeted: ‘I have no words. Condolences to everyone who loved Sridevi. A dark day. RIP.’ Sridevi is survived by her husband and daughters Janhvi, 20, and Kushi, 17.

Her funeral was held in Mumbai on Wednesday as fans crowded the streets to say their goodbyes. The Bollywood actress’ body was flown back from Dubai on Tuesday after authorities released her back to her family following extensive investigations into her death. As her body returned to the city, fans lined the streets to pay their respects with police drafted in to keep control of the huge crowds who arrived for the ceremony.

Sridevi’s body was driven in on the back of a truck covered in flowers in an open glass casket and left the Celebration Sports Club in Lokhandwala, Mumbai, shortly after 2pm. The state honoured the actress, draping her body in the Tricolour, and a gun salute was given before the cremation. Her husband Boney Kapoor, Mohit Marwah and Arjun Kapoor were spotted on the hearse traveling to the crematorium.

Fans were seen breaking down as the cortege drove past on its journey to Vile Parle Seva Samai crematorium.

Politics / My Presidential Ambition Still Intact, Former Gov Of Cross River - Donald Duke by Solomonudofia(m): 3:26pm On Feb 27, 2018

A former Governor of Cross River State, Mr Donald Duke, on Tuesday said he had not backed down on his presidential ambition.
Duke made the statement in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He said the speculations that he had dumped the aspiration were untrue.

Duke said he had not officially declared for the number one seat in the country for strategic reasons.

“Sometime ago, I said I will run for the presidency of the country if the opportunity presented itself.

“Yes, my presidential ambition is still intact, I am only waiting for the opportunity to present itself to make the right move,’’ he said.

Asked on what platform he would run, especially as he was a member of former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s inspired “Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM)’’ , he said it was too early to decide.

He, however, said he was still a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“I am still a member of the PDP, at the same time a member of the coalition which is not a political party.

“The coalition will definitely align with a political party to achieve its goals, otherwise it will make no sense.

“I can’t say yet the platform on which I will run if the opportunity presents itself. We are still watching and will take the right step at the right time,’’ he said.

On the spate of abductions and killings in some parts of the country, Duke described the situation as disturbing.

He urged the relevant authorities to confront the problem head on for the peace and stability of the nation.

Politics / Transparency International Hits Nigerian Government With Facts On Corruption by Solomonudofia(m): 8:20am On Feb 27, 2018

These figures show something is really wrong with anti-graft campaign in Nigeria.

Transparency International (TI) has released all facts to defend its ratings and assertion that corruption is getting worse in Nigeria.
In a tweet thread, the global corruption watchdog explained that 9 sources were used to arrive at Nigeria's score of 27/100 in the Corruption Perception Index 2017. This score puts the country as the 148 most corruption of 180 countries surveyed across the globe (a 12 place drop from 2016 ranking).

All the sources rated Nigeria low in the year under review. This, thus, affected the final rating of the country in 2017 by TI.

These nine sources are World Bank, African Development Bank, The Economic Intelligence Unit of the Economist, World Economic Forum, World Justice Project, V-Dem Institute, the PRS Group, Bertelsmann Transformation index and Global Risk Insight.

However, the Nigerian government said 2017 CPI contracts obtainable facts as regards anti-corruption drive of the country. The report was summarily called a mere fiction and political distraction.

“Anybody who knows where Nigeria was coming from would not believe that corruption is worse under the Buhari administration.

“We wonder where they got their facts from. At a time, they are alleging increase in the incidence of corruption under this government, the whole of Africa is applauding by choosing President Buhari as the continental Champion to lead the fight against it. Nothing can be more eloquent than this.

“In the end, this whole episode may turn out to be just a political distraction, given the strong views some of TI’s patrons have expressed against the Buhari administration.

“This notwithstanding, facts are facts, and those facts won’t cease to be facts even if you don’t care to pay attention to them,” the statement said.

Celebrities / You’ve got to see the insults actor Jim Iyke reigned on some nosy fans(PHOTO) by Solomonudofia(m): 7:54am On Feb 27, 2018

Jim Iyke is in the news again and this time he is telling off fans who won't stay off his life.

Yep! Jim Iyke was probably having an off day as he reigned insults on nosy fans who questioned his lifestyle.
Jim Iyke had posted a photo of himself on Instagram on Monday, February 26, 2018, hopefully waiting to get the usual applauds, well it looked like some of his fans weren't so impressed with his outfit and some even questioned his unending bachelorhood.
"Go and marry naw, with all Dis swag, go marry joor," one of the fans wrote. Guess what guys? Jim Iyke went all ballistic on the fan with insults

"Take away the stumpy footballer legs, the double chin, the beer belly, the humongous chimp head, the beady eyes, cheap clothes, the poisonous attitude, broke pockets, non-existent neck, body odour, 34IQ, Dragon breath, constant depression and zero prospects just maybe I might make a move for you and get it over with as my 2nd wife then keh myself next week," he wrote.

Just when we thought the rest of his followers would have taken a clue from the insults he reigned earlier, another fan well maybe thought he could get away from Jim Iyke's fireworks of  words, questioned the authenticity of his Gucci shoes

"Fake Gucci shoes, ask @Hushpuppi to show you correct and original #GucciShoes," he wrote.
"Nothing in this world will ever be beautiful to you. Not your wife, child parents, or friends. You're ugly inside out. It's not about me. You were created to edify everything ugly in this world. Nothing in this world can redeem you. Stay ugly," he wrote.

This is not the first time fans have called out celebrities over their photos or comments as we can recall that just yesterday, media personality, Toke Makinwa had her own fair share of nosy fans when she was called out for comparing her book, "On Becoming" to that of former United States first lady Michelle Obama's "Becoming" book.

Then again Jim Iyke this time a little bit subtle but really forward came for the follower with some harsh words

Celebrities / Bill Cosby Daughter’s Ensa Dies Aged 44 Of Kidney Disease by Solomonudofia(m): 7:24am On Feb 27, 2018

Ensa Cosby – who has steadfastly supported her dad through his recent legal woes – passed away in Massachusetts.

A spokesman for the comedian asked for prayers for the Cosby family and that the family be given peace at this time.

Ensa Cosby supported her father during his sexual assault trial, saying she believed racism played a big role in the scandal.

"My father is being punished by a society that still believes black men rape white women but passes off 'boys will be boys' when white men are accused … the politics of our country prove my disgust. My father has been publicly lynched in the media," she said.

Ensa Cosby appeared on one episode of The Cosby Show, which ran from 1984-1992.

Cosby lost another of his five children in 1997 when his 27-year-old son, Ennis, was shot to death while changing a flat tire near a freeway off ramp in Los Angeles.

A 22-year-old man was later convicted and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Sexual assault retrial looms

Cosby is expected to face a retrial on April 2 on charges he drugged and molested a woman at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004.

He has pleaded not guilty and remains free on bail.

His first sexual assault trial ended with a hung jury last June because two jurors refused to convict.

Jury selection for his retrial will start March 29.

Education / Muslim Students Criticise Buhari Over NASU Strike by Solomonudofia(m): 11:24am On Feb 25, 2018
The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, MSSN has criticised President Muhammadu Buhari for his alleged silence about the university workers strike.

The university workers comprising of the Non-Academic Staff Union, National Association of Academic Technologists and Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities have been on strike since Monday, December 4, 2017.

The workers’ strike has led to the disruption of academic activities in some Federal Universities as the non-teaching staff inactivity affect university operations.

However, in a statement released by its president, Dr Saheed Ashafa, the Muslim students’ group accused the presidency of ignoring the workers.

The statement reads in part:

“The presidency is not giving priority to the strike action and it is sending a bad perception about this administration.

“In the first place, the strike is avoidable and needless. It is unpalatable to the hearing that a country like Nigeria still pays low attention to workers’ welfare.

“The poor attention and undue silence of the Federal Government over the ongoing strike embarked upon by members of NASU, SSANU and NAAT are condemnable and highly demoralizing.

It is understandable that children of majority of those leading the education agencies and ministries that should engage the striking workers are studying abroad, but that should not mean that the sons and daughters of the Nigerian masses should be made to suffer for developing interest in education”

“It is understandable that children of majority of those leading the education agencies and ministries that should engage the striking workers are studying abroad, but that should not mean that the sons and daughters of the Nigerian masses should be made to suffer for developing interest in education”

Muslim students say Nigerian universities now smell and stink

The Muslim students also condemned the state of the ongoing workers strike has reduced the affected universities to saying students now live on campus like they are in a jungle.

“As we speak, some of our universities smell and stink, others have their libraries, health centres, powerhouses and other strategic facilities shut down. Students now live on university campuses like they are in the jungle.

“This is pathetic and must be urgently addressed. We will not get the best from our workers if we continue to treat them like slaves; their commitment to work will be vacuous.

It would be recalled that in December 2017, the Muslim student group criticised Nigerian ruling class and warned them of the impending death of the country at their Islamic Vacation Course (IVC) which held in Epe, Lagos.

Religion / Pastor Kumuyi: I Will Remove Some Doctrines Of Deeper Life (Throwback Video) by Solomonudofia(m): 9:36pm On Feb 24, 2018
Deeper Life founder, Pastor William Kumuyi has come out to say that he will be removing some of his doctrines.

Of course, Daddy Freeze was quick to point out a second ‘confession’ from a highly respected and renowned pastor in less than 24 hours.

The controversial OAP shared a post on Instagram showing Pastor Kumuyi’s tweet which is bound to have thrown the Deeper Life Ministry into chaos.

Daddy Freeze and the revolution that is Free Nation

Daddy freeze has quickly made a name for himself by creating a niche that tackles age-old Christian religious doctrines.

Being an OAP for popular radio station, Cool FM, gave him the platform he needed to lend his voice to every controversy that popped up among Nigerians.

However, he finally got our attention when he broached topics that were discussed in hushed tones or not at all in Nigerian Christian homes.

Earlier today, we reported that Daddy Freeze shared Benny Hinn post in which he admits to the fact that he may have overworked the prosperity teachings than was needed.

The controversial faith-healing televangelist said this in a shocking confession on Wednesday, February 21, in the wake of the death of renowned evangelist Billy Graham.

Daddy freeze was quick to share a post on Hinn’s admission, saying that “the thieves have started confessing,” captioning the post: “The thieves have started confessing.”

Daddy Freeze has also revealed via another Instagram post that when creating the branding for his drive, Free Nation, it was “ministered to me to make it about Christ, NOT about me.”

Daddy Freeze and tithing

Daddy Freeze’s anti-tithing protest gained a lot of attention this year. Apart from the attention, it also resulted in amazing things.

The Cool FM OAP really started his religious campaign and #freeTheSheeple movement sometime in 2016.

Since then, it has led to the some pretty awesome incidents.

In one of his Youtube videos, the Cool FM on-air personality and religious activist insists that God does not need our money.

He urged Christians to ask before doing paying tithe, offerings and anything in general.

Referring to instances of Pastors lying and taking advantage, Daddy Freeze also advised people to first understand everything before acting.

He says doing this will help to avoid confusion.

Celebrities / Jim Iyke Says He Was A Terrible Singer by Solomonudofia(m): 7:08pm On Feb 24, 2018
Jim Iyke says he had ventured into the music industry to have an idea of how things work in the sector seeing as he has dominated the movie scenes.

Jim Iyke has now admitted that he was a terrible singer and we are definitely relieved.

Well, for those of you who did not know, the Nollywood actor released some songs in 2009. And if you had heard any of them, you would agree with us.

He made the disclosure during a recent interview with Punch’s Saturday Beats before adding that he had ventured into the music industry to have an idea of how things work in the sector seeing as he has dominated the movie scenes.

“My music career is non-existent. My mentor in business once told me that the biggest investment you can ever have is yourself; don’t ever go into a venture that you don’t understand. I was interested in music and like everything else that I have foresight for, I saw where the career was going.

“I knew I did not know how to sing but I wanted to invest in the business, so I decided to try my luck. I did it so that no one would ever tell me that I did not try or I do not know anything about music. It is just like fashion, I know everything about that sector; there is nothing I do not know about real estate as well.”

Ike also revealed that he got some experience and a lot of knowledge on construction from his father.

“Since I was about 12 years old, I have known about real estate because my father is a construction engineer. To get money to buy a bicycle, I have carried blocks and supervised construction of a building.

“I wanted to invest in music but I needed a guinea pig. I could not use an artiste I hired because there would be a producer that would know that I did not know about the business; so I got involved personally. I sang a few bad songs, got a cheque for it and understood how the business works.

“I just used it to bid for some time. Of course, I knew the songs were bad; I am my greatest critic. I had to put some ‘swag’ into the songs that featured Tuface to sing one or two lines. To be honest, how many true talents are in the industry at the moment? Most of the less talented ones are getting far ahead of the talented ones. It is not about having talent but understanding the business and project what works for you.

“It is all about the way you ‘package’ it and sell it to the world; that is all. I can name a few terrible artistes but they are getting way ahead of the gifted ones. It is because they understand show business; I understand show business,” Iyke said.

Jim Iyke: The brand

James Ikechukwu Esomugha, is popularly known as Jim Iyke.

Born on September 25, 1976 in Libreville, Gabon, he is a native of Enugu Agidi town in Anambra State.

Jim Iyke obtained a diploma in Banking and Finance and then a B.Sc. in Philosophy from University of Jos, Plateau State.

The actor, who has featured in over 200 movies, kicked off his acting career in 2001.

In 2007, he started a movie production company, Untamed Productions. He also began his own music label, Untamed Records, under which he produced his first album, titled “Who Am I” which features some of Nigeria’s musicians like TuFace Idibia and Sound Sultan.

Iyke who recently unveiled his new reality TV series “The Adventurer”, described it as a fresh perspective to TV, which people should angle for.

“The Adventure” is about human endurance of different kind, which takes its contestants on a journey for rejuvenation of perspectives.

“Basically, we take people from different diverse backgrounds and just pose their ideas and perspectives together,” Jim Iyke said during an interview with Pulse Nigeria

On September 1, 2015, the actor welcomed a baby boy with his Lithuanian girlfriend, Dana Kinduryte.

An actor and business man, Jim Iyke is also a philanthropist. He is the founder of Jim lyke Foundation for Children with Special Disabilities.

The British military has offered to assist the Nigerian Army in the search and rescue operation launched for the 105 girls kidnapped in Dapchi, Yobe State.

The Guardian reports that the British army led by Major Ian Robertson, the general advisor, British Military Advisory and Training Team (BMATT) in Nigeria, recently made this known.

Condemning the attack and kidnapping of the school girls from Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS), Dapchi, Robertson lamented the fact that girls’ schools have become soft targets for insurgents.

In his words: “Having heard about this particular issue recently, I am still trying to get more information about what is going on, but it is clearly very disappointing that something like this has happened, that the girls have been taken.

“But let me reassure you, from the British military perspective, that we are monitoring the event quite closely and we are cooperating with the armed forces of Nigeria to see how we can assist.”

On Monday, February 19, 2018, the men of the Boko Haram sect invaded a part of Yobe State including the Government Girls Secondary School in Dapchi kidnapping several students and reigning terror on the school and the village.

According to a forum of parents of missing students, the number of girls in captivity have been given as 105.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the girls kidnap saying it’s a national disaster.

US condemns kidnap of school girls in Yobe

The United States of America condemned the abduction of over 90 school girls from Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe state.

The Spokesperson of the US Department of State, Ms Heather Nauert, at a press briefing on Thursday, said “We are still trying to get all the details about that but we wanted to mention that we condemn in the strongest possible terms the terror attack on a school earlier this week in north-eastern Nigeria.

“The choice of targets including schools, markets and places of worship reflect the brutality of terror organisations.

“The victims in the attacks were girls who were simply seeking an education.”

“We continue to support Nigeria’s efforts to counter the terror group.

“We also support Nigeria’s efforts to enable more than two million displaced in the Lake Chad region to return home safely.

“United States continues to provide humanitarian assistance to those who were affected by the violence,” Nauert added.

111 Yobe school girls unaccounted for

The Police Commissioner in Yobe, Abdulmaliki Sumonu, on Wednesday, confirmed that 111 girls were still unaccounted for following Monday’s attack by Boko Haram insurgents.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the insurgents who attacked the school looted foodstuff, while the staff and students ran into the bush for safety.

Politics / Coalition For Nigeria: Soyinka Says He Would Be Mad To Join Obasanjo’s Movement by Solomonudofia(m): 5:53pm On Feb 19, 2018
Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, said he would need to be checked by a psychiatrist if he joins forces with the Coalition for Nigeria which was founded by former president, Olusegun Obasanjo.

In a statement issued by Obasanjo on January 23, 2018, titled, “The Way Out: A Clarion Call for Coalition for Nigeria Movement”, he was highly critical of President Muhammadu Buhari‘s administration and advocated for the creation of a movement that’ll stand up to the country’s two biggest political parties.

While speaking during an interview with the BBC, Soyinka said he could never be associated with such a group.

“Me? Obasanjo would establish a group and I will become a member of such group? That means they should get a psychiatrist to examine me,” he said.

Soyinka suspicious of Obasanjo’s intentions

The outspoken Nobel laureate further called for caution in how Nigerians treat the public criticism of Buhari that has come from Obasanjo and another former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida.

He warned that the message should be separated from the messenger because the intentions of the messenger might differ from that of common Nigerians who might not be discerning enough to notice.

He said, “When these soldiers begin to speak, we are supposed to get suspicious and ask what exactly do they have in mind? It is possible that what they have in mind is different from what we have in mind.

“You can look at it from two perspectives, the messenger and the message. The message should be examined closely. We should not look at the misdeeds of the messenger alone. Let’s start by asking, is he saying the truth or telling lies, or is he being tricky?

“If he is saying the truth and talking about things that are beneficial to the masses, we would allow that be. After that, we would now look at the person speaking, what is in his mind?

“Even if it’s a little child who is speaking, as far as that child is saying the truth, we won’t ask the child to keep quiet. We won’t ask the child what do you know? We would listen.

“It is the same situation with those who have presided over the affairs of this nation without making significant progress.

“We have seen their weaknesses, we have seen their unclothedness in public, if they now want to be covered by saying that they have turned a new leaf, we would examine that, too. What I am saying in essence is that what they have said should also be examined.”

Time for youths to take over

Soyinka also charged Nigerian youths to rise to the challenge of fixing the country by working themselves into positions of power.

He said, “We have a lot of them. It is the turn of the younger ones. If they come together, as we speak, if they can start now and bring out one individual among them, we will work with him.

We are going to give them the support they need to transform the country. People like us are supposed to sit somewhere.”

What is Obasanjo’s Coalition for Nigeria?

In Obasanjo’s January statement, he pointed out major failings of President Buhari’s administration and urged him to not consider reelection in 2019.

He also expressed his lost hope in the ability of the ruling All Progressives’ Congress (APC) and opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in providing Nigeria with the initiative it needs to progress.

The former president’s solution to being free of the dominance of both parties was what he called the Coalition for Nigeria movement.

According to him, the coalition will be a movement of all well-meaning Nigerians that will engage in democratic practices that will drive Nigeria forward and be a source of hope for all Nigerians for speedy, quality and equal development, security, unity, prosperity and progress.

He said, “Coalition for Nigeria must be a Movement to break new ground in building a united country, a socially cohesive and moderately prosperous society with equity, equality of opportunity, justice and a dynamic and progressive economy that is self-reliant and takes active part in global division of labour and international decision-making.

“The Movement must work out the path of development and the trajectory of development in speed, quality and equality in the short, medium, and long-term for Nigeria on the basis of sustainability, stability, predictability, credibility, security, cooperation and prosperity with diminishing inequality.

“What is called for is love, commitment and interest in our country, not in self, friends and kinship alone but particularly love, compassion and interest in the poor, underprivileged and downtrodden.

“It is our human duty and responsibility so to do. Failure to do this will amount to a sin against God and a crime against humanity.”

Despite his backing for the group, the former president also made it known that he’ll cease to be a part of the movement the minute it becomes a political platform that sponsors candidates for elections.

On February 1, Obasanjo filled a membership registration form at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) secretariat in Abeokuta, Ogun State to officially signify his membership with the movement.

He was accompanied by former Osun State governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and former Cross River State governor, Donald Duke, who were both present at the official launching of the group in Abuja on January 31.

Politics / We Will Compel Buhari To Re-contest In 2019, Says Buhari Campaign Organisation by Solomonudofia(m): 9:33pm On Feb 17, 2018
Alhaji Danladi Pasali, National Coordinator, Buhari Campaign Organisation (BCO), says that the organisation will compel President Muhammadu Buhari to re-contest in 2019.

Pasali said this in Bauchi on Saturday while inaugurating BCO North-East Zonal Secretariat and officials that would run the affairs of the secretariat.

“We will mobilise the masses of this country to compel President Buhari to re-contest during the 2019 general election since he had fulfilled most of his campaign promises, particularly in areas of security, war against corruption and revamping of the economy.

“We will secure endorsements for re-election bid of Buhari from various groups across the country.

We will pressurise him to re-contest to enable him consolidate on his achievements and ensure that the corruption fight is irreversible.

“We will work with other like-minded groups and the APC to secure President Buhari’s party nomination and victory in the general elections,” he said.

Pasali said that the organisation would use all media platforms and billboards to highlight details of Buhari’s achievements in order to mobilise supports for the re-election of the president in all the 36 states of the country.

He, therefore, called on Nigerians, both within and those in the diaspora, to support the organisation and ensure that the president excel both during the party’s primaries and the general elections.

While swearing-in the chairmen of the six states within the North-East Geo-political Zone, the national coordinator called on them to work tirelessly to ensure that President Buhari was re-elected in 2019.

He noted that all the legacies Buhari had made would be ruined if he was not re-elected.

The state coordinators are: Alhaji Isa Gonja, Alhaji Aminu Abubakar, Mohammed Mailta, Suleiman Bako, Tukur Sambo and Aminu Nguru for Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe States respectively.

Foreign Affairs / Jacob Zuma's Five Biggest Career Scandals by Solomonudofia(m): 5:34pm On Feb 15, 2018

South African President Jacob Zuma has resigned from office with immediate effect, ending a controversial and turbulent period in the country's political history.

South African President Jacob Zuma has resigned from office with immediate effect, ending a controversial and turbulent period in the country's political history.

Zuma, 75, has been in power since 2009 and faced numerous allegations of corruption.

Here are five of his biggest scandals:

Rape charges and HIV

Before taking office, Zuma was put on trial in 2006 for rape, in a case that dismayed many South Africans.

Zuma said the sex with the 31-year-old family friend was consensual and he was acquitted.

But he told the court he had showered to avoid contracting HIV after having unprotected sex with his HIV-positive accuser -- a common but dangerous myth.

Zuma was head of the South African National AIDS Council at the time, and was pilloried for his ignorance.

He is still mocked in newspaper cartoons, which often depict him with a shower nozzle sprouting from his bald head.

Nearly a fifth of South Africans aged between 15 and 49 are HIV-positive.

Nkandla costs

Zuma was found by the country's graft watchdog in 2014 to have "benefited unduly" from so-called security upgrades to his rural Nkandla residence in KwaZulu-Natal province. It said he should refund some of the money.

The work, paid for with taxpayers' money, cost $24 million (22 million euros) and included a swimming pool, which was described as a fire-fighting facility, a chicken run, a cattle enclosure, an amphitheatre and a visitors' centre.

For two years, Zuma fought the order to repay part of the money. The scandal came to dominate his presidency -- with opposition lawmakers chanting "Pay back the money!" every time he appeared in parliament.

In March 2016 he was ordered by the Constitutional Court to pay back the cash and suffered a stinging rebuke from the justices who accused him of failing to respect and uphold the constitution.

Guptagate

As the Nkandla debacle built to a climax, its place in the headlines was overtaken by a new scandal, known as Guptagate.

It involved the president's allegedly corrupt relationship with a wealthy family of Indian immigrants headed by three brothers -- Ajay, Atul and Rajesh Gupta -- who built a business empire in mining, media, technology and engineering.

Smouldering rumours of the family's undue influence on the president burst into flames in 2016 when evidence emerged they allegedly offered key government jobs to those who might help their business interests.

Ousted deputy finance minister Mcebisi Jonas revealed that the Guptas had offered him a promotion shortly before Zuma sacked respected finance minister Nhlanhla Nene in December 2015.

The opposition Democratic Alliance (DA) laid corruption charges against the Guptas and Zuma's son Duduzane.

Arms deal

In October 2017, after a marathon legal campaign by the DA party, the Supreme Court of Appeal ruled that Zuma was liable for prosecution over almost 800 counts of corruption relating to a 1990s arms deal.

The accusations relate to a multi-billion-dollar arms deal signed in 1999, when Zuma was deputy president. He allegedly accepted bribes from international arms manufacturers to influence the choice of weaponry.

Zuma's advisor, Schabir Shaik, was jailed for 15 years in 2005. He was released on medical parole in 2009, the year Zuma became president.

After he leaves office, Zuma faces the risk of jail over 18 criminal charges over the 783 payments he received.

Omar al-Bashir

In March 2016 the South African Supreme Court of Appeal upheld a judgement that the failure by Zuma's government to arrest Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir was illegal.

Despite an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court on charges of war crimes in the conflict in Darfur, Bashir was allowed to attend a meeting of the African Union in Johannesburg in 2015.

The government said the fact that he was attending the summit as a head of state meant he had immunity, but the court disagreed.

Zuma escaped an impeachment attempt over the issue in parliament in September 2016, when ANC lawmakers voted overwhelmingly against it.

Politics / breaking news : South Africa's President Jacob Zuma Resigns by Solomonudofia(m): 10:21pm On Feb 14, 2018

South Africa's embattled President Jacob Zuma has resigned his office with immediate effect.

He made the announcement in a televised address to the nation on Wednesday evening.

Earlier, Mr Zuma's governing ANC party told him to resign or face a vote of no confidence in parliament on Thursday.

The 75-year-old has been under increasing pressure to give way to Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa, the ANC's new leader.

Mr Zuma, who has been in power since 2009, faces numerous allegations of corruption.

His resignation came at the end of a long speech in which he said he disagreed with the way the ANC had acted towards him.

He said he did not fear a motion of no-confidence, adding: "I have served the people of South Africa to the best of my ability."

The ANC issued a statement saying Mr Zuma's resignation provided "certainty to the people of South Africa".

Mr Zuma, a former member of the ANC's military wing in the days of apartheid, rose through the ranks of the party to become president. He led the country for more than a third of its time after apartheid.

But he leaves office with several scandals hanging over him, and with South Africa's economy in dire straits.

Romance / Valentine: 7 Types Of Undergraduates You Will See On Campus On February 14 by Solomonudofia(m): 5:12pm On Feb 13, 2018
Valentine’s Day celebration is here again and Nigerian campuses will most likely be painted red.

Red or white? Okay, Red and white.

A campus is one of the many places Valentine’s Day is well celebrated. How far, have you guys worked out your date plans? You know the 2018 Val has to be lit.

You’ll probably feel left out if you do not have a Val.

In fact, it is not easy to ignore this day because if you aren’t celebrating it, you’ll see course mates and roommates sharing presents and celebrating love.

These are the seven types of undegrads that you will spot on campus on Valentine’s Day;

1. The ones in a new relationship

This year’s Valentine’s Day celebration is probably the first celebration of their love and affection. These guys will drop everything to celebrate their new found love for each other…No classwork is going to stop them. Love conquers everything.

2. The ones who are in a long-term relationships

These ones are not new to Valentine and their celebration might not be as loud as that of those in a new relationship. They will only exchange gifts, chit-chat and enjoy each other’s company.

3. The ones who are single and are actually OK with it

These set of students have no boyfriends or girlfriends to exchange present with or go out with…they don’t care about Valentine anyways. They can’t be bothered about the buzz around town.

4. Those who aren’t enjoying their single status

For some people on campus, they would prefer to hide in their hostel and not come out. They are single, a status which they are tired of. Since they have no bae to celebrate Valentine’s Day, they would likely be miserable all through the day.

5. The Anti-Valentine

Don’t even go there. These ones are against the whole concept of Valentine’s Day. They don’t like it for many reasons and will always try their best to convince you that you are celebrating love only once out of 365 days.

6. The self-love squad

The self-love people. They have no partner to buy them gifts but since Valentine is a celebration of love they buy gifts for themselves saying self-love is the best form of love. Do you disagree?

7. The person who recently had a break-up

Ouch! Unfortunately, some people broke up a few days (in some cases 24 hours) before Valentine’s Day. We can’t even say much about them. If you know one, just give them a hug and tell them you love them.

Literature / Nnenne’s Last Valentine: Short Story By Oluoma Udemezue by Solomonudofia(m): 4:55am On Feb 12, 2018
The class was noisy, very loud, and the final year Law students gathered together: everyone’s eyes were on the announcement board, they have come to the end of the first semester.

Valentine’s eve.

It was a day to Valentine, and all the students were in high spirit, because it fell on a weekend; a great opportunity for a long visit to their boyfriends, husbands, friends or just family members. Some anticipated on what they would get on that day but, seated far away from the crowd, at the far end of the class, hidden behind thick lenses was Uju.

Everything began after the last lecture, when someone announced that the result for the last exams had been published. They all ran, and among those was Uju. Uju was an Island in class: her mentality was like no other, but her classmates were fine, so far as she didn’t get in their way. She was only seen on campus with her boyfriend, Emeka or her roommates heading to TDB.

She had her own car, but nobody knew anything about her family. As Uju got to the board with the rest, she made sure she stood far away from them, while she searched for her name on the board, and when she got to registration number: 434, she could not believe her eyes, and she started all over again till she got to her number for the tenth time:

“An ‘F’!”

She screamed in her mind. Before the others could see her leave, she had already reversed her car and headed off campus.

Betrayal.
Uju brought her car very close to Emeka’s door. She didn’t even know how she bypassed all the heavy trucks on UNIZIK express way, but she knew she had come to her safe haven. Uju got out of the car, ran to Emeka’s door, and with one push, the door flew open. Uju was accosted with the greatest earthquake in her life: there, Emeka was, butt-naked with Linda, her bunk mate, friend and reading partner. It was as though time stood still. She met Emeka’s pleading eyes, and Linda hid under the sheet.

“Ujunwa, please I can explain.”

He tried to get up, and remembered that he was naked and un-shamefully hard, he sat back. Uju ran back to her car, and the tires screeched her onto the express way; she headed for her father’s home town.

Seeking Solace.
Uju didn’t want to go home. She had been in a difficult feud with her father for years. He sends allowance, but she hates his guts and makes it too obvious to him, not leaving out her step mother whom her father was sleeping with up until her mother’s ghastly motor accident. Uju accused Aunt Betty for her mother’s death, but nothing was made out of it.

She resented her grandmother for asking her mother to go back to her husband when she came to tell her of her son’s affair with her best friend. The tears ran down her face as she sped pass Awkuzu, the toll gate, then diverted into the old road that led to Ifite.

The old lady, now in her eighties was a retired teacher, she was a little bit too hard on Uju, while growing up, but she still remained her favourite. She didn’t know what she saw in her, but as a young girl, Uju’s strong will marveled her. That was why she didn’t ask her why she was home, even as Uju went straight into the room without a greeting, Nnenne knew there was trouble.

A knock disrupted her warring spirit; she looked up and it was Nnenne, coming in with something like an old album. As a little child, Uju remembered that each morning they came to greet Nnenne, you will find her cleaning a set of frames she kept on a table, and these were placed very close to her bed. Each picture was that of her late husband.

One day, Uju came; she met her talking to the picture: she implored him to come and take her along with him. When Nnenne came close, Uju got, and made space for her. It was already dusk and she had come in with an mpanaka. She took her place, drew Uju close, placed the album on her laps, smiled then began:

“I loved your grandfather and each day, I wish I had him with me more than anything. Look! Here when we took our first picture. This was before the civil war. We had come from the cinemas after he proposed to me.”

She gave out a heavy chuckle, which was filled with regret. Uju leaned-in closer as she talked. The album was a collection of many little sweet moments their time together: each picture told a story.

“Here, we went to Greece for a teacher’s training. Oh! Look! It is your father, during his christening”

Uju looked away.

“Here, when he bought me my first car…. And that was the last gift he gave me before he went to away.”

She gave a long labored pause.

“Look! Here he is in his army uniform. He sent this to me after three months with a letter. I will show you tomorrow morning. The next letter I got was that he was knocked out by a bullet from the enemies.”

The old lady broke down in beats of sobs. After sometimes, she got up, and went back to her room. Uju placed her head on her pillow, and that night, for the first time, she thought about her father.

The phone rang. It was morning. A text message had come in so early. It was her father, wishing her the best Valentine ever. Uju got up and ran to Nnenne’s room, she knocked but Nnnenne did not answer, she opened the door, a lamp was burning by the side. She took it up, went to Nnenne’s bed, she brought the lamp to the old woman’s smiling face. Uju placed her hand on her arm, it was stiff-cold. Uju drew back, made her way out of the room, and as she faced the peaceful singsongs of the birds on the mango tree, she knew that Nnenne had gone to meet her many little sweet moments.

God Will Punish Those Who Believe In Buhari’s Govt ‘From Generation To Generation’ – Fani-Kayode

Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, on Sunday rained curses on those who believe in the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government.

The former Minister said God will punish those who believe there is anything good in Buhari.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain made the remark while sharing a photograph of a pregnant woman burnt to death by suspected herdsmen in Dumne, Song local government area in Adamawa State.

In a post via his official instagram page, the former Minister said God would punish the “beast” who committed what he described as the “atrocity” and their sponsors.

Fani-Kayode wrote: “Fulani herdsmen slaughtered and burnt alive this poor pregnant Christian woman during an attack in Dumne, Song LGA, Adamawa state.
I received this picture from a CAN official this morning and for the first time since the genocide and ethnic cleansing began something snapped in me and I wept.

“Please let the world know what is happening to our people in Nigeria and please pray for the soul of this poor lady and her baby: that they may rest in peace and that our Lord will avenge them.

“May God punish the beasts that committed this atrocity, those that sponsor and support them and ALL those that still think that there is ANYTHING good in Buhari and his Fulani terrorist herdsmen and demons.

“God PUNISH them from generation to generation!!!
