well tithes is agreeable it can be argued; there are scriptures supporting it's existence b4 the law. u know it's a faith thing. Abraham gave to Melchizedec and all that. because it was b4 the law that's y u cannot be caused for nothing obeying i; .but 1st fruit i've reasoned it out there's no way for this one Did Melchizedec demanded for it? Did Melchizedec quote any scripture so that he can get it? Did Abraham gave it out of his own possession or out of the spoil of the war? Did Abraham continued to do this or was he giving it monthly, yearly? Did we read of Abraham becoming richer because of that act? WITHOUT MUCH ADO, THE ANSWER TO ALL IS "NO!" When it comes to Abraham as regarding giving to Melchizedec, the lesson we should take out is how he said HE WASN'T GOING TO TAKE FROM THE SPOIL OF THE WAR. HE WASN'T LOOKING FOR CHEAP RICHES OR MAN-MADE RICHES. HE WAS NOT COVETOUS OF OTHER PEOPLE'S POSSESSION. HE WASN'T GOING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ANYBODY OR SITUATION LIKE THAT . FOOD FOR THOUGHT TO ALL PASTORS! For first fruit, well I agree with the Poster, It is The First Fraud, THE GREATEST OF ALL MANIPULATION AS TOUCHING MONEY MATTER IN CHURCH. |
Whoever findeth a womam wise findeth a good thing and obtaineth favour in the sight of God. The man is to find, NOTHING MYSTICAL! So also for a woman accepting the man should be as she finds a place for him in her heart. If your heart doesn't find a room for the guy, forget him, NOTHING MYSTICAL! God doesn't give us what DON'T we want! MOST IMPORTANTLY, BASE YOUR JUSTIFICATION ON BIBLICAL STANDARDS! IT IS WELL! |

It is a norm, not only in Nigeria, that once you are married to a Christian leader you also become a leader (not just a leader, but also the second-in-command in that particular ministries) I'm sure we are all used to things like: Host: Pastor and Pastor Mrs, Senior Pastors: Pastor and Pastor Mrs, Presiding Pastors: Pastor and Pastor Mrs, Ministering: Pastor and Pastor Mrs, For some, It is PAPA AND MAMA (FOR THE GENERAL OVERSEERS) and for some it is: AREA MUMMY AND ARE DADDY PROVINCIAL DADDY AND MUMMY DADDY G.O AND MUMMY G.O This is not to criticize anybody, but to establish the truth of the subject matter. Maybe I should re-frame my question this way: Does being a Minister's wife make the woman a Minister too. Serious opinions backed with biblical references will be much appreciated. |
@Gold24 "Television was created for the gospel" HOW? Guess I don't understand. Christian TV Broadcast is never wrong. It is true that it has been abused by many people but the purpose in itself is good. However, I strongly believe in FACE-TO-FACE EVANGELISM. I believe it is still the most effective. I don't know if there are many unbelievers who got saved by watching TV (Xtian Broadcast) @The Poster Do you practice House-to-house Evangelism? If YES, then you are blessed in the deed. If No, then your question is hypocritical, and so you should repent. |
Nothing fantastic! |
Nice works. I'll be posting my works very soon. |
Fyneguy u are not up to the task for a good Bible Study or Discussion. You are an HYPOCRITE! while drifting away from the subject matter. Tell me, are we suppose to be running after weath after salvation 'cos I'm sure that that is your view. Anyway, whatever you like, DO! I have better things to do MR CUNNY CUNNY! ![]() |
Evil men are know by their fruits, where in my text did I implied WORKS FOR THE ATTAINMENT OF HOLINESS OR RIGHTEUOSNESS. The same way you have been taught to twist the scripture, you have also been taught to twist people's word. O GA FUN E ![]() |
I see there's a new way to access The mature, would you rather call yourself the mature, with your shallow interpretation of Bible, anyone who does not agree to your tone is a baby to you. well, I'll rather be a baby saint, than to be A SUPER SINNER WHO CONTINUOUSLY CRAVE FOR AN UNCERTAIN WEALTH. As for the Greek word you quote, I know you don't know the meaning, it's just that you are used to that, off-course any member of BLW can say the same, you may go as far as telling us the Greek word for RICHES, but are you RICH? You once asked me, IS GOD PROSPEROUS? What a question from a MATURED SPIRITUAL MAN. You can as well ask if THE DEVIL IS RICH. I'm not sure you have the Spirit, YOU ARE PROBABLY POSSES D WITH THE 7 SPIRIT OF god (NOT GOD) AS TAUGHT BY YOUR MAN. |
@kunleoshob thanks for clarity bro. maybe fyneguy would finally rest his case. |
@Fyneguy u are not straight forward. maybe u should check your previous posts, you are now trying to bend, TOO BAD1 maybe I should ask you, ARE U RICH? (Before u answer, hope u know what it means to be rich=DO YOU HAVE MMMOOONNNEEEYYY?) |
Your problem is that you don't know what christianity is all about. Christianity is about a new kind of life made available by the ressurection of Jesus Christ. Christianity is about a call into partaking in the divine nature. This nature contains the fullness of God. Is God prosperous? Don't worry, you can stay away from prosperity and leave some of us who claim the prosperity available in this new life. AAHHHHH! Mr prosperity, so how much do you have and how many Estate have you, I know what it means to be rich, maybe you don't know, if you do, tell us are you rich or is your god failing you, many of us who talk this way in the defense of the true Gospel are not paupers, some of your can even hire you and pay your monthly salary without stress, but we choose not to elevate prosperity talk above righteousness. Why did you not quote scriptures to defend yourself if you don't agree with my Biblical explanation of 3John, I know your type, when you are cut in the corner you quickly find a sinking ground to hide. Quote scripture to preach your message you no fit, the one you quoted in 3John you fumbled with it. So what is Christianity about? PROSPERITY? YOUR CHURCH MESSAGE? Is God prosperous? Is your answer yes? So who is he contesting with HIM, where does HE spend, does HE also pay tithe and all kind of giving you do? You are the most deceived! PELE O! Sorry! |
@fyneguy I'm still on your post But would you please stop quoting 3 John 2 to ascertain that God want us rich. It was Paul who was a making a wish or call it a prayer for Gaius whose report of faith and good works were know to all. Such wish or Prayer should be made for men who are full of good works and are firm in the faith just like Gaius. Observe that Paul didn't say that about anybody else in all his epistles. Gauis must have been rich, and he was helpful to the saints but in sharing and in the Faith. It wasn't God who was proclaiming prosperity upon all(irrespective of their deeds). god has pleasure in the well being of His servant(Psalm), so Paul was right. when Tabitta also died in the Bible, many could not watch her remained like that because of her good works. She was eventually brought back to live. 3 John 2 is a wish or a prayer that should go out to men like Gauis, not extortioners and money lovers and those who manipulate others for selfish gain. If you have any other scripture to back up the prosperity message, SHOOT and lets consider it. |
If you are saying NO, be careful b'cos some men of GOLD are angry. They want you to say YES. Abeg, let's follow the word. If I have to give to the poor or to support any course, I don't call it TITHE, I just call it giving. That way I help myself to run away from falsehood. |
uhnn, God knows those who are His, and let those who call on God depart from iniquities. ![]() |
@JJYOU. I feel u Bro. but guess you didn't get me right. Anyway, you can recommend your church,, there's nothing bad in that, but be sure you lead men to the light and not to darkness. If your assembly is that good, u can even invite me to come check it out. As long as you hold the entire counsel of God's word in your teaching and practices, no problem! |
So tell me you are in the game of lottery where u play to win. God loves a cheerful giver, and Bible encourages us to be givers. But with twisting scriptures for money-making sake, God would have us all turn away from such |
Off-course yes, Miracles are real, and true miracle is not the act of any man but of God. The fact that there are many deceivers does not nullify the power of God at work in our days. Just make sure you look well, especially in this our naija. Too many liars. Nkan Bee! |
God owns everything, no doubt. And I guess no know should have problem with receiving. But there is different between receiving from God and trying to play smart with God. e.g: If I give prophet offering, first fruit, tithe etc, God will bless me more. That is not scriptural. The money could as well be taken to an herbalist house, there are some help there too for the covetous. |
A prosperity preacher or any of their follower will not like the Topic. The bible neither support prosperity nor poverty, there were rich followers of God and there were poor followers of God in the Bible. Whether rich or poor, what matters is to please God with your life. Check your Bible now or many years later, you'll still find it there that "the love of money is the root of all evil" and "those who desire to be rich in live falls into diverse temptation". Jesus himself said that: It is very had for the rich to enter the kingdom of God. (If you like quote Greek and Hebrew and use all kind of exegesis to twist the scripture, There are still those who won't compromise the word of God) God is the giver of all good things, he blesses men and he enriches men as HE WILLS. Has He enriched you with great finances, Set your mind on Him still, and not on the wealth. GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT IS A GREAT GAIN! Work that which is good with your hand and be diligent with it, if BIG money comes, GOOD!(but serve God still), if it doesn't, be content! BEFORE YOU QUOTE "MY GOD SHALL SUPPLY ALL MY NEEDS, " step back a little and open your eyes to "I HAVE LEARNED TO BE ABASED AND TO ABOUND, IN ANY CONDITION, I HAVE LEARNED TO BE CONTENT" For the true saints, God takes care of His own! |
@Pekmide See, it's good to recommend denominations to people, but I have little problem with the idea b'cos your recommendation will be based on your knowledge (what you count to be true and accurate) Don't you think a member of Olumba Olumba will also recommend his church to people? someone has recommended an assembly to me before, only to get there and see an open display of manipulation and falsehood. We can only trust the word of God. while it is true that we mustn't forsake the assemblies of one another, I think personal conviction matters most since we shall give account of our deeds individually. If only men will allow the Bible to speak for itself and not adding their own thing, if only men will will take God's word as it is without twisting it, THE WORD OF GOD WILL SPREAD Act19:20; 20:32 In conclusion, make sure you have proven an assembly with the word of God(in their teachings, practices and actions) before you recommend it , Remember, misleading someone is not different from killing the person. Shallom! |
You can tell, guess u know more about them! |
Youths run away from deeper life because they dont like hearing the truth they want to enjoy their youthful age, make terrible mistake in life and latter come back in some years back to look for a miracle working pastor who does not eat at all to see vision that their mother or mother inlaw is responsible for their problem and end it by praying magical prayer for them Sorry, I don't think Youth run around for miracles, that might only be correct about adult. For Youth, I think the problem is just worldliness and lustfulness whose cure is nothing but the unadulterated word of God Jm1:21 |
Sure I will |
Uhnnn! My quest is this: can a bad tree produce god fruits? Talking about the BIG PASTORS in this nation, a lot of them are nothing but BUSINESS MEN making merchandise of the Saints yet they get respect and honor, they are full of bad fruits. Talking about T.B, there are many issues about these man, but there are many good good stuffs that I can see him do and also teaches other to do. (off-course this is not to validate his ministry, I leave that to God who sees beyond any man) but my point is this: if this man is actually "fake", how do we then explain those deeds? and if the so revered PAPAs and GOs are "true", how do we explain their false teaching and practices? ONE OF SUCH IS IN SANGO AND ANOTHER IS IN OJOTA WHO PREACH AND PRACTICE "FEET-WASHING" USING FALSE TEACHING TO COLLECT MONEY FROM THE IGNORANT FOLKS. WE ALSO KNOW THOSE WHO TAKE FIRST-FRUIT, PROPHET OFFERING, DELIVERANCE OFFERING, BRING MONEY TO THE APOSTLE'S FEET STUFF. aAAAAAAAAbbbbBBBBaAAAAAAAAAA! Well, God is watching! |
"becos it's deeper life meaning their life is way too deep" God demands a deep and consecrated life, but with "too deep", that means there are excesses. Anyway, thank God for Kumuyi's life. Though Deeper life has some excesses, yet I'll rather do with them than to even come near a lot of denominations in Nigeria, where anything goes, where a man is worth hearing (NOT GOD), where the Gospel they preach is 95% prosperity, 5% whatever, where men' praise matters so much to the Pastor, where I have to live by another Spirit in a bottle(called ANOINTING OIL), where I will be manipulated for all kinds of giving, where the Pastor claims he has another REVELATION from god (NOT GOD) different from what's in the Bible, Abegggg, I'll rather be too spirikoko than to company with liars. AMEN! |

Please share your views with me, Don't you think a lot of young people in our days are not just serious with God, where do we find immoralities the most; among the older folks or among the youth, what can be done to help the situation, Maybe You'll understand what I'm saying, especially if you live in the heart of Lagos.I don't know if it is the same everywhere. But the point is this, the love for money and fun is replacing the love for God in the heart of many, GOD HAVE MERCY! |
Wow, this is good! Really look forward to seeing this innovation affecting lives for good. Let me drop this article by Albert Mohler Jr. for now: Keeping The Faith In a Faithless Age: The Church As The Moral Minority "The greatest question of our time," offered historian Will Durant, "is not communism versus individualism, not Europe versus America, not even East versus the West; it is whether men can live without God." That question, it now appears, will be answered in our own time. For centuries the Christian church has been the center of Western civilization. Western culture, government, law, and society were based on explicitly Christian principles. Concern for the individual, a commitment to human rights, and respect for the good, the beautiful, and the true-all of these grew out of Christian convictions and the influence of revealed religion. All of these, we now hasten to add, are under serious attack. The very notion of right and wrong is now discarded by large sectors of American society. Where it is not discarded, it is often debased. Taking a page out of Alice in Wonderland, modern secularists simply declare wrong, right, and right, wrong. Quaker theologian D. Elton Trueblood once described America as a "cut flower civilization." Our culture, he argued, is cut off from its Christian roots like a flower cut at the stem. Though the flower will hold its beauty for a time, it is destined to wither and die. When Trueblood spoke those words over two decades ago, the flower could still be seen with some color and signs of life. But the blossom has long since lost its vitality, and it is time for the fallen petals to be acknowledged. "When God is dead," argued Dostoyevsky, "anything is permissible." The permissiveness of modern American society can scarcely be exaggerated, but it can be traced directly to the fact that modern men and women act as if God does not exist, or is powerless to accomplish His will. The Christian church now finds itself facing a new reality. The church no longer represents the central core of Western culture. Though outposts of Christian influence remain, these are exceptions rather than the rule. For the most part, the church has been displaced by the reign of secularism. The daily newspaper brings a constant barrage which confirms the current state of American society. This age is not the first to see unspeakable horror and evil, but it is the first to deny any consistent basis for identifying evil as evil or good as good. The faithful church is, for the most part, tolerated as one voice in the public arena, but only so long as it does not attempt to exercise any credible influence on the state of affairs. Should the church speak forcefully to an issue of public debate, it is castigated as coercive and out of date. How does the church think of itself as it faces this new reality? During the 1980s, it was possible to think in ambitious terms about the church as the vanguard of a moral majority. That confidence has been seriously shaken by the events of the past decade. Little progress toward the re-establishment of a moral center of gravity can be detected. Instead, the culture has moved swiftly toward a more complete abandonment of all moral conviction. The confessing church must now be willing to be a moral minority, if that is what the times demands. The church has no right to follow the secular siren call toward moral revisionism and politically correct positions on the issues of the day. Whatever the issue, the church must speak as the church-that is, as the community of fallen but redeemed, who stand under divine authority. The concern of the church is not to know its own mind, but to know and follow the mind of God. The church's convictions must not emerge from the ashes of our own fallen wisdom, but from the authoritative Word of God which reveals the wisdom of God and His commands. The church is to be a community of character. The character produced by a people who stand under the authority of the Sovereign God of the universe will inevitably be at odds with a culture of unbelief. The American church is faced with a new situation. This new context is as current as the morning newspaper and as old as those first Christian churches in Corinth, Ephesus, Laodicea, and Rome. Eternity will record whether or not the American church is willing to submit only to the authority of God; or whether the church will forfeit its calling in order to serve lesser gods. The church must awaken to its status as a moral minority and hold fast to the gospel we have been entrusted to preach. In so doing, the deep springs of permanent truth will reveal the church to be a life-giving oasis amidst American's moral desert. "Solosimple (amidst Africa moral desert.) UR BROTHER, SOLOMON |
If there is still room, I'm interested. |
If i'm not mistaken, Citi group, a very strong global bank recently laid off close to 50,000 employees worldwide to cushion the effects of a recession. Does this mean they're going under too? i think Nigerians should learn to see things from a deeper perspective. If Intercon Bank is reducing staff salary or anything of that nature, its simply to cushion the effects of a global recession and ensure that they continue to deliver on their promises to shareholders. I read somewhere that this exercise is going to save the bank N1billion monthly. This is a common management practice everywhere in the world. Anytime the world economy shakes, companies are bound to make strategic moves to absorb the shock waves. Even all mighty Microsoft which has always boasted to be recession proof laid off 5000 employees. I personally do not believe that this is any reason to lose trust in Intercontinental Bank. Nigerians stop hating. It gets us nowhere. Uhnn! well said! |
