To me i think the greatest problem is not knowing what to in the midst of options, problems. please one wrong decision can set you up for lifetime failure, what do you think? Not really a good Topic However, maybe u are right on the note that the the decisions we make matters, so I'll start by asking you whether you have received Jesus as your Lord or not. Refusal of the Lordship of Jesus would definitely set a man into eternal condemnation. |

Copied from another thread. Don't be deceived in believing that there are no sound christians available ; there are, I promise you. That is why I say SEEK for them. It helped me in my years of similar confusion. Don't allow the devil to lead you from your state of confusion to total hatred of the people of God. I t will be from frying pan to fire- a BIGGER SPIRITUAL COMPLICATION and TRANSGRESSION. You can still love whoever deceived you. However pray earnestly to your Father in heaven for better instructions and guidance. |

As i said i would still fellowship with beleivers but it would be hypocritical of me to continue attending churches that i believe their practises are contrary to the teachings in the bible. You are very correct on this one! |
Religion / Re: I Am Done With Intituitionalized Christianity, Would Stop Attending "church" by solosimple(m): 3:22pm On Jun 10, 2009 |
I agree with your submissions above in the fact that it is necessary for beleivers to gather together and fellowship. however what is going on in the churches today is a marked departure from what the apostles taught and practised. As i said i would still fellowship with beleivers but it would be hypocritical of me to continue attending churches that i believe their practises are contrary to the teachings in the bible. In the early church they shared and discussed the word every man was allowed to talk and ask questions it was a real fellowship but today you must just accept what the pastor says whether he is wrong or right you are not even allowed to ask questions or disagree with a pastor's doctrine. Also the early church always shared meals when they met but today our churches are only interested in collecting our money. the early church attended to the material needs of their brethen but today's churches cannot be bothered they would just tell you to go and pray whilst the church leadership spends the church's money on their own excesses. I can gone on and on but then, |

Quote from: TV01 This is a good expository article on what the church of Christ is, I actually discovered this truth about two years ago. However, let me quickly point it to our attention to the fact that there's something called Christian fellowship/assemblies/gatherings/meetings (it is all over the book of Act of Apostles), Christian would always need a place to meet/fellowship/gather for xtian worships etc. Xtian in the early days weren't meeting in the sky or heaven for fellowship, Xtian activities has always been on planet earth: sometimes the gathering could be in a room, on a hose top, in a hall, on the field in the temple etc (Read through the book of Acts for clarification), The Epistles encourage the gathering of believers from time to time, and for this to be possible there must be a meeting place. BUT the problem we have here is that alot of xtians have thrown away the essence and the focus of Xtian meetings. Much attention is being given to the man made buildings whereas "the true building (equipping the saints with the UNADULTERATED word of God" is neglected Yes, all the buildings are of less relevance to God. More so, they all shall be brought down one day as the earth and all that it's in it must pass away. So our attention really should be on things that are of eternal value. |
Religion / Re: I Am Done With Intituitionalized Christianity, Would Stop Attending "church" by solosimple(m): 2:31pm On Jun 10, 2009 |
As a gospel believing christian i have always yearned to know God better and to understand his perfect will for my self and his purpose for the existence of man. over the years i have studied various countless christian literature both biblical and historical i have sort to understand what exactly the gospel of christ was all about and i realize it has always been their very obvious in the bible glaring at us all in the face yet we all conviniently choose to ignore it and the so-called church that is meant to mentor us in the understanding of the word is obviously to busy promoting the agenda of it's promoters to point out this obvious truths to us and let us grow in spirit the way it was taught in the bible. I am still reading the letter, but let me quickly correct u on the words in red. U see, Elijah said almost the same thing and he was wrong. It'll only be right to say that you've not come around the right one. I am also yet to see a denomination/assembly that is following the laid down orders of xtain fellowship as they were practised in the early church. However, I won't make the mistake of saying there are no ones. God would always keep His own (the remnant of them that refuse to compromise the true Gospel). He has built His church and the gate of hell can never prevail over it. The Gospel itself is stronger than any man and weightier than any denomination. Let me quote something I read in a particular article (Can't remember author) YOU CAN NEVER FIND A PERFECT CHURCH ON EARTH AND IF YOU FIND ONE, YOU WON'T BE ALLOWED INTO THEIR MIDST SINCE YOU ARE NOT PERFECT YOURSELF. FIND THE CHURCH THAT IS CLOSEST TO THE APOSTLES' DOCTRINES AND PRACTICES, CAST YOUR LOT WITH THEM AND YOU WOULD BE BLESSED IN THE DEED! The perfecting of the Body of Christ (the church of God) is not a mid-way thing. See Eph Chapters 2 & 4 (read through) That perfection is not about the pastors or denominations but about the entire body of Christ, the individual members that make up the body. The perfecting is a continuous thing and it will go on and on like that until the day of our Lord. My point exactly: Don't conclude that there are no assemblies that doing God's will, just agree that you are yet to find one (same as my case). Who even know if u would make up another good example to the Body of Christ. The Lord knows those who are his, and he is able to keep them from falling to the schemes of satan and the deceptions of men. I'd go back to continue with the letter. |
Religion / Re: My Unusual Experiences In Church by solosimple(m): 12:18pm On Jun 10, 2009 |
More blessings to you. Indeed, one may never find the "right" church (it all depends on what criteria makes a church 'right' and suited to one's taste). However, even when there are certain things that surprise us sometimes, we can look to God and proceed with caution. As you pray for His leading, you will be blessed and refreshed constantly. Jesus is Lord.Good! Hmm! Interesting. Pilgrim1 has given you a good advice. Mine wouldn't have been that gentle. Did I hear you say 'pray'? I have another four letter word you could use: 'flee'Better! |

Religion / Re: Criticising A Man Of God- Is It Right? by solosimple(m): 4:00pm On Jun 09, 2009 |
Whether men of God or not, bible says "Judge not that you may not be judged, ". Only God is in the position to judge any man. Judging someone and criticizing someone don't mean the same thing. The kind of judgment the Bible tells us not to use against anyone is condemnation. However, we can discern, rebuke, refute, instruct, warn/admonish, expose, correct and examine a matter and then pass judgment. for example, Paul confronted Peter and rebuked him for his hypocrisy. Paul told the church at Corinth to examine a matter concerning the immoral brother, he passed his judgment on that. Jesus at one time rebuked peter with these word: GET THEE BEHIND ME SATAN, that was because his word was contrary to God's will. Paul, Peter and John warned the believers about false teachers and erring brothers, in which they mention their names in most cases. Also, consider our Paul rebuked the believers in Gal 2. If u call that criticism, that was a godly one, and we shouldn't reject such in our days. Observe that Paul mentioned Peter's name and I'm sure the Epistle must have gotten to almost all the believers in Galatia and beyond Galatia. Peter didn't feel bad about it and no believer write in defense of peter 'cos everyone could see that he was wrong. The same Peter adjusted his teachings by that rebuke, as we can see it from his epistles. BUT WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE PROBLEMS IN OUR DAYS WHEN NAMES ARE MENTIONED? I can go ahead and write in many words with accurate scriptural references, but I don't think there's a need for that. This is a very simple matter that does not need arguments. Don't judge/condemn anybody. BUT a true believer must keep to the good fight of faith, always ready to rebuke, refute and expose those who contradict the glorious Gospel that was delivered to us, irrespective of the person's status or influence. |

I don't see anything wrong with the appointment. It is akin to having a consulting professor. what Sunny Ade brings to the table cannot be learned from tenured professors. Its like learning business strategies from likes of Dangote,Coscharis, Otedola instead of tenured pros. |

If LASTMA is an example of what we should expect, then state police is a no no for me. LASTMA officers are getting worse than arm robbers. They perform their own robbery in the broad day light and they do it with legal backing. Those folks are humiliating a lot of Lagosians, especially the people in the Transportation business. |

As usual, we are carried away again, really will still strike us if we are not careful. The truth is Amodu is not technically sound, win against france or not. Lets hope the name NIgeria will take us to the world cup. For the records, we were not spectacular, just better than we had played in a while. Lets savour d victory aniway. We still need creativity in the mid field (Not Mikel o, he is a defensive mid fielder now) lol. Some good points! |

Religion / Re: Is Thanksgiving Biblical? by solosimple(m): 5:11pm On Jun 02, 2009 |
Your last statement about devilish ambition is apt for those who demonise pastors to justify their own pseudo-spirituality. On the contrary it is more apt for those who twist the word of God to de-fraud his children. It is also apt for those who defend this evil them as well. Both of u need not to quote me wrong. My words are clear enough to interpret itself. But one thing is sure, a good and sincere Bible Student knows who is saying the truth between the two of you. Thank God we all have The Bible. |
