The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oke-Ogun, Oyo State, on Thursday, at a meeting in Oje Owode, endorsed the aspiration of Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, to govern the state again on the platform of the party. In a communiqué, issued at the end of the meeting, which was signed by the duo of Ola Adigun Irawo and Chief Gbadebo Adetoro, the party also lent its support to the senatorial ambition of Honourable Abisodun Kareem Tajudeen, currently representing Atisbo/Saki East/Saki West in the House of Representatives. The party, which lauded both Alao-Akala and Tajudeen, for their support over the years, called on both the national and state secretariats of the party to ensure that all aspirants are allowed a leveled-playing field. "The purpose of democracy is served when the wishes of the people are allowed to prevail," the party noted. "It is, therefore, important that the wishes of the members of our great party with respect to those that will represent them in the general election be allowed to prevail. This can only be guaranteed by allowing a leveled-playing field for all the aspirants." Oke Ogun PDP assured the leadership of the party at both the state and national levels of its readiness to ensure the victory of the party in the ensuing elections. "Our resolve to return Oyo State to the fold of the PDP-controlled states is well known. We shall, in cooperation with other zones in the state, ensure that we deliver the state to the PDP in 2015," the communiqué stated. While congratulating the Federal Government and the nation at large on the country's 54th independence anniversary, the party called on the Federal Government to complete ongoing projects in the area. http://solutioncrib.com/discussion/1992/suggest |
THE ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Thursday, insisted that the sale of its nomination forms to all aspirants under its platform in the 2015 general elections would close on October 30 as contained in its guidelines for congresses and primaries for the general elections, saying there would be no extension whatsoever on the deadline. This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh. According to the party, "all aspirants are therefore advised to adhere strictly to this directive as the party shall not extend the sales beyond this date." It therefore urged all aspirants to carefully study the guidelines and party's code of conduct for elections and ensure that they conduct their campaigns accordingly as it warned that "it shall not condone any aberration or abuse of its internal electoral process." This came as the leadership of the party warned its members at the state levels against the endorsement of certain aspirants for elective offices in the 2015 general election without the approval of the party at the national level. According to the statement, "whilst the party cannot stop individuals, groups or communities from endorsing persons of their choice, the national leadership wishes to restate in the strongest possible terms that elected party officials at the state, local government and ward levels must not be involved in such, as they must remain as unbiased umpires in the nomination process." It clarified that "for the avoidance of doubt, only the National Executive Committee (NEC), as an organ of the party can officially endorse a candidate under the PDP constitution." It advised all party officials at all levels to be guided by the constitution of the party in their day to day administration. http://solutioncrib.com/discussion/1991/suggest |

Psquare were the final performers at the music concert which held at the Landmark Event Centre, on September 30, 2014. The Pop duo were performing 'Bring it on', a song off their new album 'Double Trouble' when Peter Okoye apparently stepped too close to the centre edge of the five-foot elevated stage and fell off. He tumbled and landed on the floor, hitting his back against the protective metal barricades used to shield fans from the stage. The singer was immediately helped back up by the stage bouncers. Okoye bounced back on stage and continued performing like nothing happened. He is however believed to have sustained a hand injury. Immediately after his performance, Okoye took to his Instagram to tell his friends about his unexpected mishap. "I fell off on stage and it wasn't funny… Like we said keep ur head up high and standing tall… I will surely bring it on" #sadFace #headingToTheHospital love u all!", he wrote. http://solutioncrib.com/discussion/1975/Headlines |
https://solutioncrib.com/discussion/foto/arrested_boko_haram_suspects_abia.jpg The Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday sentenced three Boko Haram members to 25 years imprisonment each. However, journalists were not allowed to cover the judgment. Only lawyers in the prosecution and defence teams were allowed in court. A source, who witnessed the verdict, but craved anonymity because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, told reporters that the fourth defendant was acquitted. The court, on December 3 last year, barred journalists from covering the trial of 17 suspected members of the sect. Justice Ibrahim Buba made the order following an application by the Lagos State Attorney-General and prosecuting counsel, Mr. Ade Ipaye. Men of the Department of Security Services (DSS) had prevented journalists from covering the suspects' arraignment last November 27. The accused are - Ali Mohammed, Adamu Karumi, Ibrahim Usman, Bala Haruna, Idris Ali, Mohammed Murtala, Kadiri Mohammed, Mustapha Daura, Abba Duguri, Sanni Adamu, Danjuma Yahaya, Musa Audu, Mati Daura, Farouk Haruna, Abdullahi Azeez, Ibrahim Bukar and Zula Diani. The Attorney-General, it was learnt, had entered a nolle prosequi (Latin for "do not prosecute" in respect of two of the defendants, who were subsequently discharged.Later, another 11 were also discharged in the course of the trial following another nolle prosequi by the prosecution. Only four - the first to fourth defendants - went through a full trial. The suspects were first charged with conspiracy to commit terrorism, illegal possession of firearms, and being members of a proscribed organisation. They allegedly committed the offences on March 21 last year, at Plot 5, Road 69, Lekki Phase I Housing Estate, and at No. 24, Oyegbeni St., Ijora-Oloye, Apapa- Iganmu, Lagos. They were alleged to have in their possession three packets of explosive construction pipes, 15 detonators, and 11 AK47 rifles with 30 rounds of live ammunitions. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo appears to have given his nod to the rumoured presidential ambition of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, ahead of the 2015 election. Tambuwal is believed to be nursing a yet-to-be -declared presidential ambition, which could see him challenge President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015. The Speaker had flagged off consultations in recent months and had met leaders, including Obasanjo, and former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida. Sources told the Our Source that when Tambuwal visited Obasanjo at his Abeokuta Hilltop mansion recently, the former President was unequivocal in his support for the Speaker. The former President was quoted as saying "Tambuwal, go ahead and contest the presidency in 2015. I am behind you." Though the Speaker's spokesman, Mallam Imam Imam, has insisted that the Speaker is still consulting over his ambition come 2015, the Speaker's body language appears to be tilting towards presidential contest on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). It was also confirmed that the Speaker had recently consulted Babangida and former Head of State, General Abdusalami Abubakar, on the way forward in 2015. Sources however confirmed that only Obasanjo gave an express permit to Tambuwal, while the two other leaders were cautious and prayerful. Reports had indicated recently that Tambuwal was set to declare for the 2015 election on the platform of the APC. According to the calculations, Tambuwal is expected to benefit from the goodwill of former Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Tinubu, who is expected to hand over SouthWest voters to Tambuwal at the presidential primaries. It is believed that the likes of General Muhammadu Buhari, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as well as Kano state governor, Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso, would share the votes coming from the Northern states, and bloc votes coming to Tambuwal from the South-West would make him the man to beat at the primaries. The Speaker, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), is however yet to announce his defection to the opposition APC. Source: http://solutioncrib.com/discussion/1949/suggest |

https://www.solutioncrib.com/discussion/foto/Akala-200.jpg Former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State and an aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday collected the nomination form for the 2015 governorship election. The aspirant, who paid the mandatory N3 million fees, collected the form at the party's secretariat in Ibadan through his Committee of Friends. Razak Gbadegesin, the aspirant's former Chief of Staff, who collected the form on his behalf, said the committee picked the form because the aspirant went to Abuja for an assignment. "We are here to collect the form on his behalf and it is due to the fact that we believe in his ability to deliver when he becomes governor Oyo State", he said. Gbadegesin said there was no other person that could wrestle the position from the incumbent, Gov. Abiola Ajimobi, other than Alao-Akala. Dr. Kola Balogun, another member of the committee, said that the group believed the aspirant could represent the yearnings of the people of the state. "I want to urge PDP members in Oyo State to work hard to see Alao-Akala elected as governor of the state", he said. Responding, on behalf of the party, Mrs Kehinde Eboda, an official of the PDP, confirmed that the aspirant had fulfilled the necessary condition for the collection of form. Earlier, Kehinde Salawu, state Public Relations Officer of the party, who represented the Chairman, Olayinka Taiwo, said it had no anointed candidate. "We are going to allow a level playing ground", he assured. The number of aspirants who picked the form on the platform of the party has now increased to five. Addressing journalists in Gusau, Mafara said the extension of date by the state government was the result of a stakeholders' meeting. https://solutioncrib.com/discussion/foto/Abiola_ajimobi.jpg Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State said at the week-end that his mission in government was to leave a legacy that would be difficult to surpass by any administration that would succeed him. He stated this during his investiture as the Grand Patron of the Ibadan Recreation Club 1902 at the Club's ground, Adamasingba, Ibadan. The Governor, while enumerating some of the achievements of his administration which included the provision of adequate security, clean environment and massive infrastructural development, said all these had made the state to become the investors' destination of choice. He added that his administration had equally resuscitated the Asejire Waterworks which had been abandoned by previous administrations in the last 17 years. Governor Ajimobi also disclosed that his administration had fulfilled its earlier promise to place civil servants in the state on better salary scale comparable to their counterparts in other states in the South-West zone. He called on members of the Ibadan Recreation Club to contribute their own quota towards the urban renewal policy of the state government by maintaining a clean environment within the club house. The President of the Club, Mr. Adeoye Adeshoye, in his remarks, said that the club was very proud to be associated with the present administration because of its achievements in environmental beautification and provision of adequate security. The event also witnessed the conferment of the honourary membership of the club on some members of the Oyo State Executive Council. Source: http://solutioncrib.com/discussion/1851/suggest |

These foods are milk, chocolates, sweets, desserts, cakes, fat and oil. You need to eat vitamins and minerals rich foods to get rid of acne. Below are natural methods of getting rid of pimples within a very short period. 1. Lemon Juice By applying lemon fresh juice to your skin you can easily get rid of acne overnight. Take 1 lemon and squeeze it in a bowl. Dip a clean cotton swab in fresh lemon juice and apply it to the pimples before going to bed. In morning, wash your face with lukewarm water. 2. Orange Peel Rub the orange peel on the pimple for 2-3 minutes and leave it overnight. Wash the face gently in the morning. 3. Aloe Vera Aloe Vera leaf will also help you in removing acne. Wash your skin with warm water. 7. Take the banana peel and rub in a circular motion all over your face. When you feel as though you've covered all of your face, let it sit for at least 30 minutes before rinsing it off. 8. Garlic Garlic is an antiviral, antifungal, antiseptic and antioxidant agent that can help in the fast treatment of pimples. The sulfur in garlic also promotes quick healing of pimples. Cut a fresh garlic clove into two pieces. Rub the garlic on the pimples and leave it for five minutes before washing the skin with lukewarm water. Repeat the treatment several times a day. 9. Baking Soda It is the most powerful method to get rid of pimple overnight. Baking soda is a good option for all, but especially those with sensitive skin because it will not cause any kind of skin irritation. Make a thick paste by mixing one teaspoon of baking soda with some water or lemon juice. Apply the paste on the affected areas and allow it to dry for a few minutes. Wash your face with warm water and apply a moisturizer. Repeat the process twice a day for quick results. 10. Steam Steaming is wonderful for your skin at any time, but particularly when you have pimples. The steam will open your pores and allow your skin to breathe. This helps get rid of oils, dirt and bacteria trapped in the pores that can cause infection or inflammation. Fill a large container with hot water and allow the steam to come in contact with your face for a few minutes. Rinse your face with lukewarm water and, after drying, apply an oil-free moisturizer. Lastly, don't touch your face (more specifically, your breakouts) This means don't itch, scratch, pick, peel, pop, or rub at your skin. It will help the healing process go smoother and more efficiently. Hope you found this useful. Our Source |

Cameroon's army claimed on Tuesday to have killed more than 40 Boko Haram fighters who tried to storm a strategic border crossing from Nigeria. Heavily armed fighters "attempted to cross the bridge at Fotokol" in the extreme north of the country and opened fire on Cameroonian soldiers, the ministry of defence told state radio. "Cameroon defence forces energetically reacted to this assault which lasted three hours," the ministry said, adding that one soldier was wounded by mortar shrapnel. There was no independent confirmation of the battle. Gamboru Ngala, the Nigerian town on the other side of the bridge, fell to the Islamist extremists last week after they reportedly overran the Nigerian garrison there. For several days people living in towns and villages in northeast Nigeria recently captured by Boko Haram have been fleeing towards Cameroon to escape the militants. The extremists, who have waged a bloody insurgency for five years in northern Nigeria, seem to have changed tactics in recent months, going from spectacular kidnappings, massacres and suicide attacks to attempting to conquer territory. Cameroon's Defence Ministry said that 246 Nigerian soldiers and customs officials who had fled Gamboru Ngala into Cameroon to escape the Boko Haram offensive "have left the Fotokol area under military escort" to rejoin their units in Banki in Nigeria. Several hundred Nigerian soldiers abandoned border posts further to the south along the long and isolated border last week in face of the militants' advance, military sources said. The Nigerian army denied its troops had fled into Cameroon, instead calling the retreat a "tactical manoeuvre". http://solutioncrib.com/discussion/1820/Trending |

https://www.solutioncrib.com/discussion/foto/lai-mohammed.jpg The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said Nigerians must hold President Goodluck Jonathan personally responsible if the Ebola Virus Disease spreads more than it has done in the country, after he failed to stop a rally in his support in Port Harcourt on Saturday, despite warning from individuals and groups. In a statement issued on Sunday in Lagos by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said never before has a President of a country sabotaged his own Administration's policy and endangered the lives of his compatriots as President Jonathan has done over the issue of Ebola. It said the same President who declared a national emergency on Ebola and advised against large gatherings to prevent the spread of the virus was the first to flout his own advice by his failure to stop the rally by the so-called Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) in Port Harcourt, a few days after the virus was detected in the city and at a time that contact tracing was going on to find all those who may have had contact with the medical doctor victim of the disease. ''On the altar of political desperation, President Jonathan put the lives of Nigerians in danger. In order to realize his ambition for re-election, President Jonathan has shown he is ready to sacrifice as many lives of Nigerians as possible. There goes the President's statement that his political ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian. This President simply says what he doesn't mean. ''As we said in our statement of Aug. 28th 2014 calling on President Jonathan to halt the TAN rallies, especially the one in Port Harcourt, could anyone guarantee that none of those who have had contact with the medical doctor who died of the disease will attend the rally? That is why we are calling on Nigerians to hold the President responsible if Ebola spreads more than it has in the country,'' APC said. The party said shortly after it made the call for a halt to the TAN rallies, others, including the NBA and Prof. Itse Sagay, in a clearly patriotic duty, issued similar calls. ''In fact, the APC in Rivers described such a rally most appropriately as a 'firing squad against the people'. But because he will rather be re-elected than give a damn over the safety of the same people who voted him into office, because he will rather transmogrify than transform President Jonathan ignored all the calls and allowed the rally to hold. This is an unprecedented act of political desperation,'' it said. APC said for those who might try to spin the issue by saying the President has no control over the organizers of the rally, they should be asked who the rallies will benefit, whose top officials, including Secretary to the Government Anyim Pius Anyim, have been attending the rallies and what is the source of the funding of the gatherings. ''The TAN rallies are government-sanc tioned. The TAN rallies are the Jonathan Administration's cunning way of beating the INEC ban on campaigns for next year's general elections. The TAN rallies highlight the impunity of the Jonathan Administration. President Jonathan is the sole beneficiary. He can stop the rallies today, if only he wants to put the nation's interest above his own personal interest,'' the party said. The National Sports Commission says outgoing President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Aminu Maigari, was arrested on Tuesday over the recent fire outbreak at the secretariat. Maigari was reportedly arrested along with General Secretary of the federation, Musa Amadu, and Chris Green by security operatives in order to stop them from presiding over the congress of the football body in Abuja. But a statement by Patrick Omorodion, media aide to the sports minister/Chairman NSC, Tammy Danagogo, on Saturday, read, "The NSC wishes to put the record straight on the reason for the arrest of former President of the NFF, Aminu Maigari, by men of the Directorate of State Security Services. "It is however, on record that the former Acting President of the NFF, Mike Umeh, had immediately after the fire outbreak at the NFF secretariat in Abuja, said he suspected sabotage by 'some people who are desperate to perpetuate themselves in power and called on the police to investigate the incident.' "The arrest of Maigari and some other officials of the NFF by the DSS is part of its routine to investigate the fire incident and interrogate some suspects based on the report of officials of the NFF and therefore had nothing to do with the NSC, as is being erroneously insinuated. "It is a fact that arson is a serious offence in Nigeria's criminal law and anybody who is suspected to be involved,no matter how highly placed, must be investigated to verify his or her culpability or otherwise and appropriate sanction meted to such individual." http://solutioncrib.com/discussion/1798/Posted |
