Another angle (I don't think anybody has touched this aspect yet): What about the male students who impragnate a woman (or several women)? Are they allowed to graduate?

more oko would have passed inside obo - please tell us.
Nairalanders can be so blunt! shocked However, there is a German saying "der wahre Kavalier genießt und schweigt" (one does not boast about one's conquests, lit.: the true gentleman enjoys and keeps quiet about it). I think same also goes for the true gentlewoman. grin lipsrsealed wink

Hi all! Sorry for not having replied to your posts; didn't see that there were new ones until today.

As for Kaytee and me, we've moved on. Flowers die without water ---

Nevertheless: Thanks for all your advice, comments etc.! smiley
TV/MoviesRe: The Movie "300" by somegirl(f): 7:48pm On Apr 10, 2007
Nice effects, yes, but way too much blood! Also, politically not very correct (ask Iranians, the descendants of the Persians, what they think of the movie!). Together with "King Kong" (the new version) and "The Producers" (Hitler in Spring Time), it goes to my selection of movies I regret having watched!

PS: My mother said the original comic was better! grin

Mhm, I changed unis and subjects. Hence, the difference I am noticing between BA and MA might have to do with any of those two. At BA level it was hard to get a 60-69 and almost impossible to get something above 69. Now, almost everybody can get the latter. Our first assignment even had an AVERAGE mark of 72! However, work load has much increased. At my old university, you wrote an essay for the end of term and/or an exam in the third term. Here, you constantly have to hand in assignments during the term, sometimes up to three in a week (while in other weeks you got none)! But it seems the BAs here also have to write graded assignments.

The Third Twin is also a great book, full of suspense and unexpected turns. I did a presentation on it during my A-levels. Just loved the book!

Hi Franc, I'm actually not so interested in Chomsky and co. but more in Emenanjo, Bamgbose, Ohiri-Aniche, Egbokhare, Adewole, Himmelmann, Mosel, Ladefoged, Williamson, Austin, Gibbon, Ostler, Levy --- and Chrystel too. grin How's your MA? Stressful?

Franc, I started a course in linguistics last autumn. Thanks for your offer to help. smiley Are you a student as well? (sorry, if you mentioned it before; must have forgotten it then)
Literature/Writing AdsRe: Poetry Contest by somegirl(f): 11:07pm On Feb 17, 2007
Frank, I'm still around though I'm busy at school a lot. The course I am doing is highly interesting but also demanding. Most of the time, I'm looking forward to when I will have handed in my dissertation. And in the remaining time, I worry what I will do once the course will have finished! grin

Literature/Writing AdsRe: Poetry Contest by somegirl(f): 12:22pm On Jan 13, 2007
Hi Franc, for me it is a poem sha. Since I often don't understand poems or just tiny aspects of them, yours very much qualifies as one to me! wink But joke aside, I get that you are feeling blue right now. cry Let me tell you that life has more colours than just one and that you'll reach the bright/warm side of the palette again. Until then, we're here for you. If you wish we can cry or we can footle with you. Nilla, Macalurs, isn't that true? Franc's not allone. Dear Franc, take care! *hug*

Franc, I just saw that you are from Kogi State and I came accross that name during some research in the last few days. May I ask which language you speak (besides English)?

I know this is a bit off topic but I know that you usually check this place. grin

Good-Bye, My Love

If you were a real man,
You wouldn’t cling
To a love who’s end began
When you said it was a fling

Don’t now point your finger
At nobody but yourself
My love for long has lingered
Around a cold and distant elf

Now, it’s time to depart,
Before this love will die
And leave hatred in our hearts,
Let’s just wish each other “good-bye”

Once we’ll no longer feel this pain,
As friends we might meet again

Franc, I got the delivery today. But what happened to the camcorder I had put on the list? The diamond ring nko? All I get is a booklet of peoms? Kai, I hope you got a copy because I used it as firewood --- and it didn't even produce much heat!

wink Franc, thanks for your gift (your beautiful good-bye poem). Merry Christmas again (to you all). I'll post the poem that I promised some time ago now.

I've been travelling too much lately --- maybe, I should add a mobile phone with Internet access to my list for Santa Claus! grin Anyway, merry Christmas (just in case we don't see again until then).

Oh, my email is ProfSGirl73@yahoo.ng and my own poem is still in the making, with the working title "good-bye, my love". smiley

PS: Just send me the info; I'm sure I can decipher it! grin
Literature/Writing AdsRe: Poetry Contest by somegirl(f): 4:52pm On Dec 14, 2006
Dear Franc,

I would be highly pleased to send you a gift for Christmas in return. If you have a credit card, just let me have your real name, account number, bank name, starting and ending date, security code on the back of the card and pin code. In fact, to make it easier for you, you can simply mail me your card. Just don't forget to note down the pin code somewhere.

Please expect my gift soonest!

Greetings,
Dr. S. Girl
