Yes, it does and there is a racist undertone that undergirded the emergence of foreign names in Africa, be it Christian or Islamic. Christianity and Islam condemned almost all aspects of African culture and encouraged an adherent to look down on his culture and appreciate these foriegn, inorganic cultures.
