Comparing your local GTBank and your Church Branch with a 6 flat set-up is positing from a position of arrant ignorance. It is comparing apples and oranges really relative to the discussion. A 6 flat structure will use more water and put more pressure on a Bio Digester than your local bank branch. How?

100% of people at your local bank don't do their laundry at the bank.
100% of people at your local bank don't do their dishes at your local bank branch
100% of customers at your bank don't have their bath and jacuzzi soak at your bank
99.9% of customers at your bank don't use the bank toilet for number 2 or even number 1.

So your GTbank for this specific situation can operate Bio Digester because of the very limited use of the WC. For this situation, Bio Digester may work effortlessly. With regards to your church, they may have a gutter to channel the water to or enough acreage to bury wastewater.

However, for a 6 flat structure with the limited size of the digestion chamber, the chamber will be overwhelmed if a contraption containing 30 people (in a 6 flat as someone said earlier) all decide to have their bath, do their dishes, do their laundry on a given day (say Saturday morning). The chamber is not big enough to contain such an inflow of 2000 ltrs of wastewater a day. The Biodigester will fail. This is basic science.

So if there are no public drains (gutter) at the site as I earlier said, the conventional Bio Digester will not do for a big commercial household contraption. The Bio Digester contractor needs to implement the "Extreme Bio Digester" option to channel wastewater into. (see photo attached).

Now the question is: will extreme Bio Digester work? It depends. Extreme Bio Digester means just burying the wastewater underground and using rocks to prevent collapse and then cover the rocks with sand. So if you have a tight space, this will pose a problem as the convention is to keep water away from your foundation. Extreme Bio Digester so close to the structure (foundation) can lead to subsidence and cracks and even collapse.

You can build 3 or even 6 to serve each flat. (3 won't take more space than the traditional soakaway I want to believe).

You can channel the waste water from the kitchen, bathroom and laundry to your drainage(s)

A Biodigester cant affect the foundation of your building because it's just 3 feet, so you can either build it on the surface or put it 3 feet down.

I intend setting one up in my current build.
