Our latest acquisitions, sales and near misses tell a story of their own. For crying out loud even tight fisted Wenger did better than us. We would have believed it was a strategy to cut debt until we witnessed first hand the lamentable decisions concerning the sales of Robben, Glen and Diarra only to get a 31 year old right back.

How in decision making's name can you sell out 3 of your youngsters! Crap, bloody unimaginable crap. Now after stalking Alves and making the team and its fans believe otherwise you make a U_turn and get some unknown chap that can't hold a shirt in Barca, whoops did i mention he was in his retiring age! That's a major blow to a team that expects to be competing on 4 fronts.

We also lost out on other young players - paco, drenthe etc.

The way the manager - JM - is treated begs for consideration. He's put under so much pressure while he's powers are cut short right under his nose. He has little or no say in the acquisition or sales of players. Just what is the job of a freaking technical director these days? If Roman thinks its all about his money why not sack the coach outright and prove it by getting one from the 1st division. Prove it once and for all that Oil money can play football!

Rule 1 in life is never bite the hand that feeds you, even if you have total control of the media. Russians don't like insubordination.

I don't know if we have the same Jose, that we had in the beginning. I think management has dealt him a serious blow, I don't know if we have the same confidence, the same wit, the same spirit.

I'm no manager but one of our problems has been - no Makalele, no one does the job of protecting the back four, and Lampard has not been himself lately ( yes i know we are worse without him).

I saw comments concerning Drogba and i think they are largely out of context. I agree that good strikers know how to make room for themselves but every one can be marked out. Its up to the midfield to create spaces and chances and our midfield falls short of this. We need the center to hold on to the ball, to dribble, to put the ball on the ground, and slice through balls and nice passes. We need defences to be scared of the center. Our centre has been slow and marked out in most games. We put too much pressure on the wings and Drogba. Its easy to cut these ones off.

Team
Except for Lampard, we are seriously lacking in our never say die attitude. No one can carry the team on his back. I use to think Essien or Cole or Mikel could do it, but its a remote lie.

SWP has to learn to cross the ball accurately, he's shots too are mostly of target. Malouda and Ashley are not yet compatible, again i feel Lampard has to help them out, we should attack three from the wings not one or two.

Our right back - no comments

We need partnership at center back, while the defensive midfielder helps to shield them.

We had all this in our first season, why i'm needed to make this remarks now is beyond me.

There is something wrong with the mentality of the team. We can go no where at this rate. We need to respond and show that we are up to the task. This includes a win at Old Traford as huge as the task sounds, anything less may prove unacceptable.
