dont we all love freebies!!!!! lol

but trust me i just need honest opinions from all my peeps on Nairaland.

i think i'll pay not more than $12 per month to watch good music programming, music videos (at least b4 they hit youtube), events, interviews of artistes et al, and dats just for a music tv.

I am not too sure about movies and general entertainment though cos i know i hv come across sites like theafricamoviechannel.com, jump tv, africast.com, ondbox.com and izogn but still hvnt subscribed to them.

judging from what dem guys are doing back home; channelo O, hip tv, sound city and nigezie, i will be the first person to subscribe should i get the opportunity.

TV/Movies / Re: You Can Watch Nigerian Tv Channels From Anywhere Online by son(m): 10:33am On Sep 18, 2007
chairman,

im trying to be constructive here but all you've done is simply repurpose jump tv's feeds from nigeria via ur site.
are you affiliated with them? if yes in what capacity, cos people still have to subscribe and trust me any \naija consumer will rather use jump tv directly than watch on your site.

I am assuming you wont be getting any cut from jump tv, but hope to generate revenue from google ads. Truth be told. JUMP are liaising with companies like gdb, simply tv. aol, to repurpose the content they've got from naija. simply put the naija content you want to host on your own servers are already available in the UK via freeview set top boxes and in the US as well.

I may appear not to be costructive here but you may want to shed more light on what you hope to achieve, maybe then i'll think right, lol

Good luck m8

Politics / Re: Ogba Police Is Harassing Innocent People by son(m): 9:20pm On Aug 31, 2007
@bencobenz,
that is really generous of you, its actually 1 in 300000.

I hardly reply to general posts on here, but this one caught my eye and i cldnt resist the urge to post.
First fact is that there is no clean cop in Naija, its like saying a born again christian working in Guiness is sincere.

Naija cops are all cowards, trust me when we who hv a bit of connection and craze start standing up to them enmasse there'll start to be a shake up.
In december i was home from the UK for 6 weeks. trust me it was a battle with the cops over the million types of documentation a car needs to ply the Lagos route.

Sam and his Area G gang at Ogba wont forget me in a minute.
One of them idiots did not know where the chasis nos for a honda babyboy was and took us to the station, now these bastards did not not take us to the counter but to the back of the station where they had just killed someone, imagine them threathening to kill an area boi saying stuff like " we just shoot one now" to scare him; the poor boi was shaking. I was disgusted

I called my friend whos car i was using and when he got there he was mad, he showed them the chasis nos and they felt stupid.

Three days later on a sunday these punks were just a few yards away from aguda after omole, they asked us for the papers of the car and stuff, we showed them . Next thing the idiot attending to us said the car was suspicious and that he had to see the ORIGINAL receipt for the vehicle.

I WENT BERSERK.

Who in his right senses will leave the original receipt of a vehicle in his car, especially in Naija.
Six of them muthaf'ers cld not handle me. i told em i wasnt based in naija and they better not be decieved by my jeans and t-shirt, i said i had been to Area G a few days back and nothing would get me in there again at least not when i am alive.
I was screaming so loud and poking one of the cops in the chest asking him to shoot me.

Now this sounds hard to believe, but im not a small boy, im not a yahoo yahoo boi, and i don't really hv alot of patience with naija cops. In my days i'd hv shouted out that i was a pressman, but people i don old now.
Why shld they harrass people anyhow? why must they blame me for their frustration and bad luck? when i was in school to learn why them no go school or is it my fault that i got a good education and their poor parents cldnt afford to educate them?

At least i was given some hungry ones 50 bucks at check points!!! ah ah

Why shld their failure be my problem?

I am so looking forward to my next trip to naija, because i intend to live life to the full in any part of Lagos be it razz or Behind, and heck why can't i go to the cyber cafe? Is it no longer a public place for people wivout internet connection at home to browse?
Some dudes here say that they profile people, and that once u fit the desription of a yahoo yahoo boi (tight fitted shirts, boot cut pants, ) they pick you up.

Bollocks!

These rotten cops are people like us they live in face me i face u with people like us, i wont instigate people to start burning down the houses of their cop neighbours, because that wont avert the crisis.

All i'll say is that people with access to authority betta get involved and step up against the ass wipes. They even have a forum http://www.nigeriapolice.org/forum/

WARNING:If u no get liver abeg sidon jeje,

O boi i vex gan oooooo, lol
TV/Movies / Re: Hitv & It's Relevance In The Nigerian Broadcast Economy by son(m): 8:03pm On Aug 17, 2007
HITV are focussing on getting their signals round Naija.
Good move but they also need to focus on content as well.
Politics / Re: Naira To Be Re-Denominated by son(m): 12:07am On Aug 15, 2007
Sounds good on paper but in reality, dodgy move.

Pardon my analogy but its the best i thought of for now.

In 2003 i got 10 rand in Jo'Burg in exchange for a Pound invariably £100 got me R1000.

In that same year £100 got me N23,000 in Lagos.

Honestly what i did with 23k in Naija was more than what R1000 made me do in Jo'Burg.

Lets not be deceived about the zeros reducing if the intrinsic value of the naira does not go up.

It may well pan out that boiz in Naija will earn nearly if not same figures as guys abroad, but trust me guys for obodo yonder no go show face for town like before, Virgin nigeria and BA go shock say boiz go bone all their offers to travel 6hrs to Lagos, lol

Infact boiz for yankee go lost pata pata, e go do us like the days of our grand uncles wey no dey go house.

PONDER ON THE ANALOGIES MADE AND You'D SEE DAT EVEN THOUGH ITS ON A LIGHT NOTE THE REALITY AINT NO JOKE, SOME SECTORS WILL SUFFER e.g MONEY TRANSFER ,

i just hope Soludo and his cohort know what they are doing.

i intend to purchase two plots of land to build a storey building, not sure if that can also accomodate a BQ, and i intend to fence the building.
Properties / Re: Land In Ikorodu To Purchase by son(m): 5:00pm On Aug 10, 2007
@LASYEM
DUDE, UR PROPOSAL HAS SPARKED MY INTEREST IN IKORODU.

NOW I HOPE ITS AS EASY AS WORKING INTO SHOPRITE AND WORKING OUT WITH THE COMMODITY; COS MY MUM HAD TO DEAL WIV OMO ONILE IN IKORODU AND MY BIG BOI FRIEND WIV ALL HIS CONNECTIONS STILL CANT BUILD A FENCE ROUND HIS HOUSE COS OF AGBERO AND THE LIKES,

IN PLAIN TERMS THAT AN IDIOT LIKE MYSELF CAN UNDERSTAND KINDLY EXPLAIN WHAT IT ENTAILS, WHAT IS COVERED, WHAT I CAN OR CANT DO, WHAT TAXES I NEED TO PAY WHOM I NEED TO BRIBE, PLANNING AND ALL.

I AM INTERESTED IN BUYING LAND IN IJEDE.FOR RESIDENTIAL PURPOSES,

NB: WHERE EXACTLY IS IJEDE, I KNOW IMOTA, ISIU, IGBOKUTA, AGRIC, OTA ONA, IJEGUN AND THE MAIN GARAGE, kindly describe the route from the main round about coming from mile 12,

CHEERS.
