I got a feedback and was given a confirmation for the same Nov13th. Why are you finding it difficult, let me help.

Truth is that the embassy has put hs in a very difficult position. People that requested since last week have not heard from them. Just three days before Friday, what is the assurance that one will hear from them after cancelling a closer appointment date

Concerning this!!! Please help guys. So online, I already booked a date for Nov 13. When I requested emergency date they gave me Oct 26. Bear in mind i still had my nov 13 date online. But this oct 26 date, they canceled it and rescheduled because of the protests at the time. they moved it to nov 13!! imagine! now i have two appointment slots for that same day. I now got the email that i should book june 19 2021 for them to confirm my nov 13 emergency date. I told them if i cancel my nov 13 date online I will have to pay another fee! it does not make sense, I have the same day online already. Can i miss my emergency appintment and just go for the normal one. Emergency was at 8am, normal one says 9am. Because its not me paying another 60k to find date online that will already be finished.

I was told I couldn't cancel/reschedule too, or I would have to pay another fee. I never cancelled/rescheduled before.

I have not cancelled or rescheduled before. Only my emergency appointment that was rescheduled due to the protest.

The question should be addressed to your school. Ask them what particular immunization history they are expecting. That is, which particular vaccines. When they reply, you then take the shots you haven't taken

What can I do, what’s logical to tell the DSO.

In your next interview, best ignore the internship part. If you must, it is better put this way: "the school provides an opportunity to gain practical experience through a ........internship.....

Lessons learnt: speak more about the benefits tied to the program first and summarize with the internship program if possible.

I know schools that gave their students who deferred from fall 2020. I believe it is useful as long as the entry term is correct.

Is an I-20 received far in advance useful? For instance, I assume those resuming in August 2021 will start going for visa interview by April 2021. So why would a school give one an I-20 by November 2020?

You can only get a date if a date is available. The problem is not coming from you. All you can do is to keep checking, hoping someone cancels his/her appointment or embassy release new dates. Just check from time to time, sometimes people give updates here too

I'm not sure if the point you are making here but it is the school that will determine that. It depends on the deadline for international students, if it favours you, click submit. You can ask when they make decisions too. But really, it is all up to your school and your program

on the 4/10/2020, I made a payment for my appointment but till now, no confirmation mail to proceed for the appointment booking process. I mailed the embassy, they said they were on it that ones solved, I would be notified. it is 17 days now and my school is resuming on the 13/1/2021.

I don't think it's the answer but the funding information on the I-20.

It was an unexpected question so it would have taken a lot of convincing, the VO is already prejudiced and you will need him/her to be willing to listen (which doesn't happen frequently). In my case, I would have said "it means i will be dedicating half (50%) of my time to the assistantship which is 20 hours per week". I will say this b4 stating that the funding covers all my expenses.
N:B- when I said it wasnt the right answer, I didn't mean it was your fault. I totally blame the school. I blame the school because it is an ambiguous term. I also got a 50% assistantship in a school, whereas, in my case, it wasn't full funding, I had deficit, the funding would have covered my tuition and paid half of what a fully funded student would earn. VOs too think they know everything.
Also, I think you should work on the response you gave for "Why a master's in met. Engineering.
We are all in this together. Sorry about the situation. I remember you saying your resumption is oct 12 and assumed you had left

It was actually the answer he gave plus the fact that the VO wasn't enlightened enough. 50% GA in his case means half-time assistantship which is equivalent to 20 hours per week. Some schools have it that way. I blame the school for assuming everyone will understand the ambiguous term

It's not the answer that gave you away bro.. It's the 50% GA without Deficit.. That's what the V. O finds strange.. If you were given a 100% GA then deficit is not needed.. But 50% .. Man without GA will be tough.. Let your school fix it if possible send a letter am sure you will get it next time.

It is cool since you said the correction would be made on the new one. Using that one you got for fall would have been a mistake IMO

Let's assume total cost of studies is $40,000 and one gets an assistantship of $30,000. It means the deficit is 10k right? So when you request for your I-20 and submit your assistantship letter, you need to also submit a bank statement for the deficit. So on that right side, your assistantship amount shows as 30k, then maybe self or family support should only show that 10k deficit. It should not matter even if you submitted a bank statement of 200k. My point is that you I-20 isn't showing your actual deficit, you will be relying on the VO to do the maths or you should be prepared to explain. I don't know if you understand my point

I really don't like the way your school stated your financials. They are kind of overstating the deficit and the VO will need to do the maths themselves

My GRA contract letter quoted 50percent but it didn't appear anywhere on my i20.

Can you screenshot where the 50percent appeared on your i20?

Also my i20 reflected estimated cost for 9months although my school is currently working on it to reflect 1year and make the assistantship amount section upto 47000usd

What duration did yours reflect?

I'm not sure but the way I see it, they are different in two ways. 1. It is Lagos consulate and not Abuja Embassy 2. You are not requesting through your CGI profile. Therefore all the rules that binds requesting for expedited appointment via CGI does not apply here. People got appointments without having I-20 and without paying SEVIS. You just give them reasons why you want it. I don't know how they approve but I think there's a form of randomness about it. Just be hopeful, see how it goes.
If it is possible to switch to lagos totally too, do it

Truth is that if you have no funding at all, and you are funding yourself, and then with the nature of your account, you have to be able to explain how you got the money and how you plan to fund your second year

People are asking questions about admissions and assistantships but are being ignored by the ones who are either trying to book interview dates or have gotten visas.

If your I-20 does not state your assistantship, the VO will assume you don't have it.

They have over 4000 schools in the US and you want someone to send a list to you based on a criterion. If I may ask you, if that list really exist, how much do you think it should worth? My advice, you don't need any list. There are countless schools in the US that doesn't require official transcript. By the time you check 10,
I'm sure you will see atleast four. Now imagine what you can achieve by checking 50. It would probably take 20minutes.
