If that is your understanding then APC would have easily won in Osun, worst still, the home state of the PRESIDENT.

Tinubu would have won in his domain, Lagos.

I noticed that anytime APC wins, it's "inec is compromised "

When APC loses, it's Silence.

Shift!
Are you done?

I pity that man.
You should be the last person to be playing this kind of useless politics on the internet.

For god's sake Josh, your people in Benue are dying in scores and a lot more are being displaced from their ancestral lands.

How beautifully time flies😊.

Politics › Re: NASS Transmits State Police Bill To 36 State Assemblies For Approval by SonOfWords(m): 9:29pm On Sep 18
Lanruze:
The ruling Party -APC after impoverishing majority of low and middle income Nigerians and haven seen the staggering unpopularity of PBAT across the North and South want to use the Governor's through state police for election outcomes.

Nigerians should know that the implication of this bill scaling through wpukd give an advantage to.the riking party with an overwhelming Thirty (32) Governors.

State Police will be empowered to carry assault and sophisticated war grade ammunition like the AK-47Kalashnikov Riffle.

Why the hurry to pass it when there are a thousand bills that have still not been effected
This is another very valid concern.

The speed with which the bill is being hurried through its processes, raises questions.

It's almost as if Tinubu is rushing the bill to meet the election timeline, and with over 30 governors under his thumb, it's as good as having the entire security architecture glaringly working as APC's polling booths agents.

See these goats. Is the state assembly more powerful than rhe federal assembly? What stops them from passing the bill into law?
Legislative procedure demands that the bill passes through the 36 states assemblies for scrutiny and deliberation, upon which a two-third approval grants the bill its needed legitimacy to be signed into law.

You no even sabi your own country system but you dey call other people goats😐🥲.
Politics › Re: NASS Transmits State Police Bill To 36 State Assemblies For Approval by SonOfWords(m): 7:23pm On Sep 18
I have very mixed feelings about this state police business.

While it is agreed that we need to take a different approach to tackling insecurity around the country, for which the decentralization of the Federal police architecture into various state units becomes necessary, I cannot help but worry that our politicians as always, will find ways to exploit its legislative loopholes for their own nefarious interests.

And once politicians find ways to abuse a particular system, it won't be long before the rest of the elites begin to weaponise same.

Before you know it, anyone with a 100 million naira and above in his bank balance will have the state commissioner on speed dial.

It's a good initiative, but this being Nigeria, I mostly fear it is going to be counterproductive.

Hollywood has released another U.S propaganda motion picture: Run Hide Fight - Infidel (2026).

Same theme, Islam being evil and America being the force of good and all😊.

They need to rewash the brains of their pliable citizens and willing slaves.

I'm only miffed that Jonathan Majors agreed to play that ignominious role. They deliberately casted a black character to create the impression that there's global agreement to that categorization.

And I quite liked that guy. Such a waste🥲.

Travel › Re: GUO Bus Accident On Benin–Lagos Expressway, Many Dead (Photos) by SonOfWords(m): 4:30pm On Sep 17
Angelfrost:
Sigh... Most Nigerians can't and should never be allowed to drive! PERIOD!!!

Whenever I say this, some of you will start the usual "whataboutism" of how accidents also claim lives in other nations.

But, look at the numbers... The figures don't lie!

Our roads are a death trap, not necessarily because they are bad, but because those that ply them are reckless with little to no knowledge of proper and safe vehicle handling and road use culture.

That bus above, for instance... You would be shocked at the high speed the driver was on even at unclear curves or bends.

Nigerian drivers are the main reason we constantly pray for "Journey mercies" even when our destination is within city limits.

I visited and lived abroad for over a year, and not once did I pray that prayer... It never even occurred to me to do so while there.

But as soon as I landed in Lagos, just the airport taxi back to my family, I suddenly started panicking and praying for safety... Even while on the Air Peace flight back to Abj days later.
This particular issue was the subject of a very robust Twitter thread about two months ago.

Most Nigerians cannot drive, and it is a fact you should not be apologizing for stating.

Over ninety-five percent of Nigerian road drivers have absolutely no idea that the yellow and white lines on all tarred roads are actual warnings and indications to inform your speed and lane changes. They simply think it's for road beautification, and they can strongly argue with you over it. You'll see them flying between road lanes as if the car has propellers.

If you run into those Lagos-badagry-seme and Katsina-jibiya border drivers on a normal day, your life expectancy reduces by 50 years, even before he turns on the ignition.

We're very reckless people on the steering, irrespective of road conditions.

And the painful part is that the useless FRSC that should prioritize driver sensitization in that regard, only know how to pursue policies that generate revenue for "them Ogas"😐.
Politics › Re: MKO Abiola Proposed The Solution To Oil Subsidy 30 Years Ago -Dele Momodu (Video by SonOfWords(m): 9:16pm On Sep 16
emkz:
Why is there oil subsidy? Why is there no food subsidy? Why do we not have mass transit in Nigeria? Why are we still having converstations about government subsidy?

NNPC ran down their own refineries and started importing fuel. The fuel consumption ballooned that even a former senate president said he didnt the local consumption data. Transnational smuggling became the norm and one of the candidates has promised to enhance smuggling by bringing back subsidy in an opaque way.

Government cannot handle subsidies. Private refineries are private businesses keen on profit. Once each state government handles mass transit, there is no need to discuss fuel subsidy. Also, give our people power so they wont buy fuel on generators. Incidentally, the candidate who is insisting on bringing back subsidy is the same guy who admitted to paying power sector contractors 100% upfront who later disappeared.

The subsidy question should be rested. Anyone wishing to bring it back is desperate for power and does not mean well.
Are you aware the almighty U.S still pays all manner of subsidies including food and education reprieves just to cushion living conditions for their citizens?

But somehow one Polycarp on nairaland is convinced that his government has no business mitigating commodity prices in a society as largely poor and wretched as Nigeria🥲.

You people's reasoning in this country can be quite unfortunate.
Politics › Re: Amupitan On Official Assignment Outside Abuja – INEC by SonOfWords(m): 9:10pm On Sep 16
So if the Obidient movement had not asked, Inec as a public institution would not have seen the need to properly inform Nigerians on the official functions and itinerary of its chairman, especially with the national elections just around the corner😐?!

This apc government has so bastardized societal leadership to the point public servants no longer bother to even communicate with the citizenry.
