If you can, learn coding.....work go pursue you enter gutter. Atleast that one no need language proficiency. i actually got an offer in my Uni but na C++ dem need but na Python i dey write. The pay na die and i could work longer hours had i known C++.9) Even as a student (Where i live) you need to earn net of 1500 euro monthly to invite your "anybody".....make you know ooooo. This net is not possible for a student to earn legally. 10) Before you come here, If you like, give woman belle, if you like promise girl marriage, i nogo warn you ![]() except your religion and personality permits many wives and your current "plural" no get mind to kuku poison you and your new plural. Better remain single and come here because even plural people come here port to single . Survival is he name of the game. I nogo overflog this one.11) If you come here with hustle for head, make sure you smart pass the gwomenti. I have seen where they control one nigga give am 30 days to leave DE. The nigga arrange lawyer, show that he passed certain number of courses in school, spent all that hustle money back to gwomenti. So, arrange you juju well well make you fit miss. K'emesia. |
Good evening dear Brothers and Sisters. It's been a long while. So i came back from a long necessary Pause! So while on my "Pause" moved around and made some research which i would like to say few things on. 1) See eehhh, when you dey 9ja, you usually see Germanyy as "Geerrrrrmmmaaaanyyyyyy" but when you eventually come here, the excitement will "shift" and you wake up to reality ![]() TIP: make your plans solid and be prepared from home. Get all the information about the city you are headed especially ask people wey dey ground. For instance, i live in Bayernn (Schweinfurtt). Internet reported that my city is the 3rd richest city in Germanyy and the most industrialized (Not so sure about the most Industrialized part again). To me i felt like...."Hustle go stew" my dear the reality is that those big big companies would hardly wanna give out "student job". But this stuff is where man wan pay bills. So you see? Bills don't stop coming, so boys be porting outside city to get jobs. Sometimes you pay big transport. I know guys wey go other city pay fresh rent and they are looking for someone to occupy their house here and even pay half of the rent. Kole werk? 2) Languge IS KEY: I visited Osnabruckk, a city in Hanoverr and spent 1 week there. I discovered they speak correct Germann(Hoch Deutsch) and i was able to improve my Germann and my hearing skills in days. I was impressed. It's not the same as in Bayernn. They speak Bayerish...kinda dialect. Now, the Germann person i was in his house told me "If you have C1 level of Germann in my city (Osnabruckk) you have a great point to apply for citizenship." These are his words. I didn't do further research but based on his portfolio (he was in Government for 20 years and currently in charge of refugees shelter blablabla) i know he knows shit. You need language anyhow to succeed in this country. Imagine the ease of improving your Germann by simply "Being in the right surrounding"? even if you speak nonsense, atleast you hear people speaking the right shit, its easy to pickup and boost your morale to even try to speak. 3) Some good Unis are not on daad.de. Even if they are, not all their courses are on daad. The University of Osnabruckk is gadamm good. Bigger than my current uni and has courses in English. With population of over 30,000 students offering almost all the courses you can think of, whereas we are just 2,700 my area. Plus the campus in wurzburgg we will be about 9000 max. Do the Maths. Now use your head, it will be easy for you to find escape route in a school with many 'Humans'(male/females) than a school with few Humans. If you know you know . If you think am bluffing, imagine entering plane back to dah gadame kan3 if things no stew as you thought? I no go talk again. Infact i don't even want to go into details.4) You can change school and transfer credits (Bachelors only) but not for than 90 credits. Which means you can start from third semester in you new school if the course contents are same ooo. Why not make the right choice from the beginning when you still can? 5) A friend said that "Bayernn is Bayernn and Germanyy is Germanyy" because their shits are kinda different from other parts of DE. So, i asked myself, if DE na DE, why do i want to go through the difficult path bikonu? 6) Finally Everything wey i just talk na lie!! (I sabi wetin make i dey yarn for awa tongu ooo. No be say i no sabi spell Ingrish, data security is real. I sabi y i plus extra letters to names, i no hear say them kom for me .)7) If you want make Uni-assist payments, i can help you. I no dey change money ooo, i just wan help boys in my own little way. So you can transfer the equivalent in my local Naira account and i make the payment here fur Sie. Finally we go dey alright. K'emesia. |
Dear all, please, how did you manage tropical illness in Germany? Hospitals here don't seem to understand Malaria and Typhoid... Or am i feeling sick due to change of weather? feeling sick like: having irregular headache. feeling weak and sleepy most times (especially in class )..Will i eventually get used to this shit? The alertness no dey like before. Mehnnn i was better before now! I hope my ancestors are not mad at me? |
Well, i am gonna say this and once. I no go use any sugar cover am. We were in a class one day for (English Language for Engineers). I think say na normal Noun and Adverb wey dem take finish us for Nigeria. (Mind you i also did Technical Report writing in 9ja and smashed IELTS in one seating) We were given one kind lexis and structure without options where to fill from. So it happened that many options fits. The context was about classifying Engineering Materials (where they are from, their chemical/Mechanical properties...about Carbonation, enealling, hardening, case-hardening, stress, strain, fracture, Torque, fatigue, yield point, plasticity etc) and naming different types of drawing......2D,3D, Dimensional, Working dwg, Explosive design etc..(English language oooo). Now, because i already studied Material Science and Design way-back, i could understand what to fill at least 70 percent. But hey...most other options happened to also fit logically. But eventually, when the Professor showed the correct answers..bros, we didn't see that coming. One Yoruba guy and a Cameroonean (who already had Bachelors) nearly provoke for the Prof. ![]() Now it happened that many folks didn't have a clue. I asked the professor, "Are we gonna be expecting this kinda thing in Exam?" She answered "You know, i didn't make the rules. It is typical for the Bavarian region. Our exams are usually not multi-choice. Normally, Education in Bavaria is tougher than every other part of Germany...so when you pass with a Bavarian certificate, ......." Well, i am saying this because many people here wanted to travel out of Nigeria for many reasons. For me, if German certificate is German certificate....why should i come and kill myself by myself? Honestly, don't be discouraged. But also don't say "I wish i was told earlier". I have come of age to know what fits me per time. No be paper we dey find come here las las? What shall it profit your village people that you came here and graduate in 10years? Ogbeni are you a baby? Jokes apart, if common English could be this tricky, think about Maths 1, Maths 2, in some cases, Maths 3(For sexy engineering courses). Physiscs na light weight. Statistics na die! Maths easy pass Stats somehow...Stats you need to think larger whereas maths is kinda fixed. Consider another school i got in another State doing similar course in Engineering (although 180 ects) but without Statistics, Accounting 1, 2, 3, and some hardcores in higher semester which involves higher programming languages too? Plus, they do German as a compulsory module with 5 credits each semester(which means if you had B1 already in Nigeria you don dash yourself 20 credits)? That means, you'd be graduating with automatic C1 whereas here, we paid a token to learn German after class from 4.30 to 6.45 twice a week and its not even graded? When is the time to hustle? Well, i no wan argue on this. just the same way i was helped with resources from here, i am giving back. By the way we are doing 6 courses in a semester whereas that other school is doing 4/5? NO shaking, all of us go come here and we go make am Insha Allah. All things are possible. Believe. Be ready. Fight!! Chikwu gozie unu. K'emesia. amahbrain: |
Your case is a different ball game. How can a living thing come to German University to study Applied Mathematics? In Germany? Not even UK or America? ![]() heybaby12: |
B2 should take you less than a year. But if you mingle and force yourself to speak (your cut and join German) you would eventually start making sense sooner. Also depends on how much time you wanna put-in. I would advice you to start learning German from Nigeria. Throw yourself to it. Just like @hounorableseyi hinted, If yo come here bro/Sis you go ration your time ooo. Alot of wahala if you are doing Bachelors in Engineering( or STEM). Time no go too dey plus course work, hustle go tie you down. If you want soft small....avoid education in BAVARIA...i wouldn't say more than this.. Chriswazo: |
I'd count it "Sinful" to migrate to DE and completely ignore this house that made me. This is my base. Yes i'm still in my first month anyway. So i'm pretty new here. I came here because i got a few stuffs to share...just for those who didn't know already. 1. When you enter here with Block Account, Anybody that is legal and works in Europe can give you Support letter for preceding extensions/renewal . Yes. You don't necessarily need someone who lives and works in DE for that. NB: This is the case in Bayern where i study and live.... 2. Before you come here......L E A R N G E R M A N. Not as if you will die if you don't. But imagine being hungry and don't know how to order for food? Imagine not being able to read signs like "Entrance and Exit, Rauche oder nicht Rauche?" the list is endless... Imagine being in a train but don't know how to tell someone to remind you when you get to your station? Because the "computer" announcing Bahnhoffs says it in German! Imagine stepping on someone but can't say "tut mir sehr leid"? Imagine missing your way (Which is common) and don't know how to ask or take directions? You can't yell bro.. Imagine going to grocery stores and don't even know how to ask where you can find certain thing? Or you can't read or guess-read what's on label? Your mom wouldn't be there to savage. But once you can say "Entschuldigung Sie" a typicall Deustche will reply "Bitte" then you wrap German. It might take a little for you to hear their own German, but at least, you can express yourself with your crude german and they can understand you....that's communication ![]() 3. Most of the time, the people that discriminate you (Racist) are not Germans. I can bet my rent on this. Other nationalities who came as you came do! Germans are pretty simple people from my experience. They are supper warm and welcoming....Always asking "Was kann ich fur Sie tun? Brauchen Sie hilfe? 4. If you are like us that have finished school many years and starting over....mehn....start reading again. Re-activate your brain. I mean, read reasonable stuffs that really revamps your brain. Not some Instagram posts. You need to come up to par. It will help you when you come here. 5. Normally, what's actually different is "Method". The lecturers here are fast...kinda. But you'll be fine trust me. If a dumb ass like me can answer questions in Maths, Physics and Statistics classes (Even though i had a HND in Mechanical Engineering from home) while those whites mop at me, then you should do better. Key: Don't be intimidated, don't be proud either. All of us de hustle. 6. If you are coming here with SL, Come with money that can sustain yo for some months, couple of winter suits (If you are coming during winter) and food! Yes. I regretted buying clothes from Nigeria. It's personal. Though a bit expensive (Even though there are cheap stores), stuffs here are of standard. But imagine me coming here with no single maggi cube? I burnt cash already on food since i came. It will take you little time to discover the economic way of feeding here especially if you are like me who doesn't have someone here to show me the way.... 7. Be nice. Don't spoil the reputation of Nigerians. If you do, they will reduce our slots and God no go forgive you. Here.....things work. The system is organized and kinda of ordered. Germans are courteous and sehr nett. Don't come here and block another person future abeg. Don't be notorious. Its nobody's business you Say?, Hell no! It's our business how you behave. Save the innocent Nigerians reputation. 8. Studying Engineering and trying to hammer at the same sequence is almost too hard. You go fail for class. Take it easy. Don't come with high-false-hopes of "Once i enter, i am hammer ".Tell those you borrowed from to chill a while biko. What you can earn here is about 450 Euro per Month which can cater for your basic needs...as poor man wey i be. Once you finish and land a job.....then yo can Ronaldo all you can. 9. Get prepared for the hustle. It's not what you see in pictures. Get your mind prepared. Come prepared. No one has your time here. No one cares about your show-off. Even the Mercedes that dropped me from train station to my place was intimidating. Cars are toys here unlike in 9ja. 10. About chasing women or men.... well, i haven't seen any woman yet that can take my baby's place. As long as it lasts...i will try and control myself. Ain't marrying any shitty white wife even though i am still single. It's my choice and its very possible to stay sane. Girls will kinda be nice to you (what we call green light in Nigeria) but that does not necessarily translate to them rushing you.. nahhhh. But sha if you don't have a babe down here that loves you and you love back...don't commit yourself yet. Reason is...once you land here, your taste for woman go change and almost any 9ja babe you toast with plus+four+nine dialing code go gree... u see? But sha the winter is real mehn....Chukwunna biko! 10. Pls share your experience here. Let us have many Nigerians here....the more the merrier! I didn't have anyone pick me from Frankfurt....so that was the first point of "This is Lagos" in Germany. I had to find my way anyway... imagine i couldn't say shit in german? habatically ![]() I learnt german on my own anyway... i got books and audios. Don't use "Geothe is far" as an excuse. Find someone to speak to. Ignore translators...(i have my reasons.) It's better to start learning by speaking nonsense than using translators.. find someone who can learn with you or speak with you. Find and join German learners group on Facebook,...use your spare times productively instead of watching unclad women on Insta or trying to impress your Hushpuppi (for ladies) or Kimkardianshan (for guys) with poses and posts (I am saying this to those whose passion is strong about migrating and surviving here). Set your priorities and take it one at a time. Surely when you come here...you will change..positively (maybe). You'd become more simple and more open... Its really irrational to blame Nigerians. Youths especially. What we are or have today as Nigerians was what was made available to us and what we were exposed to. Things are really shitty in Nigeria. Come here and refine your mind. Come here and become better. Nigerians are strong people. We've learned to survive the impossible. I can't imagine spending about 30years of my life only in Nigeria and Africa.... You have the right to thrash this....It's 100% your freedom. Alles gute. |
Am don show! Destination DE. |
Nothing seems to be working again in this country. Even the ones that seems to be working are really not working. Part of the problem is you nd I.....then, government! Example: FMC doctors are dumb asses! |

Dear fam. A friend wants to know if she can get Undergraduate Course in Logistics Engineering. She is a 3rd year University Student of Hospitality and Tourism management with good GP. She did Sciences in are Olevel but Nigerian universities pushed her to HTM instead of medicine she applied! Question: can her 3years transcript get her Admission for Logistics in Germany? |

So about yesterday interview... I met the Paulinus guy. I was the first to arrive the venue so I didn't know where to queue even. So I courageously inquired " Sir please where......" the guy collect me sharp sharp "Oga you can't be seeing me working and you are asking me question..go down there and que " For my mind I be like "What could have cost this man to simply say go down there and cue?" I just feel the man needs help psychologically. So after much arrangements of documents I was ushered in to sit down at the waiting section. The the VO signaled me through the glass and I walked to the cubicle. Did my biometrics. VO: How are you? Me: Very well, thank you. VO: What type of visa? Me: Student Visa. VO: Can I have the first set of your photocopies? Me: Here. (Passes it) VO: Originals Please? Me: Passed. Then passed the second copies. VO: Do you have your 27,000 naira visa fee? Me: Yes. I handed it *well arranged* in a white envelope. She took it, counted it and returned my envelop. VO: What degree are you going for? Me: B Eng. In Business and Engineering. VO: Bachelors? (Looking surprised) Me: Yes (for my mind I be like "na your matter be that "?) VO: Why the course? Me: if you know you know VO: Are you married? Me: you wan marry me? VO: who is sponsoring you? Me: Na we VO: when did you finish primary and secondary school? Me: Take your eye see am for my certs. VO: Oh when did you attend these training? Me: But the date dey there nau. VO: So you are a member of Bleep professional body? Me: Madam ask me about Germany already. VO: You seem to be engaged all through your career. Tell me about your work experiences and timeline. Me: Ooooooooooom!!!!!! VO: where is the capital of Germany Me: (we die here) Berlin. Which is the second time it has been. After the fall of Berlin wall in 1989 and the Unification of Germany; the modern Berlin will be 28years old by 3rd of October this year which would mark the German Unity day. VO: How many points have you made for one single question? I can see you know alot about Germany. Me: smile. (for my mind I am expecting the usual next fire "name the states in Germany and their capital. Name the boarders of Germany and their capital. I even read and crammed their various presidents join.) She typed a while. VO: Smiled at me Me: I smiled back. VO: laughed a little Me: I laughed. VO: Ehee continue Me: Germany has 16 federal states and 9 boardring countries by land and 2 sea boarders on the North sea and Baltic sea respectively. (For my mind I was expecting name them) Frankfurt is the financial capital of Germany and it's about 116km from my school. Germany is the founding member of the European Union in 1958 and the 3rd largest export and importation country in the world. About 90% of German companies belong to the German "mittlestand" Which are small and medium sized enterprises mostly family owned. In 2016, Germany recorded the highest trade surplus of $310b making it the world largest capital exporter of the year. Her major export partners being the European and the US. Namibia was a German Colony from late 18th century. Forest dominate the southern region where I am heading with the popular Black forest in Badden Wuttenberg. The weather is largely temperate. The famous Neuschweinstein castle located in my state is attract 2million people annually on tourism. Lest I forget...Pope Bernadicth XVI is also from Bayern where I am heading which explians why it is dominated by 60percent Catholics. VO: Looks up to me and smiled again. (At that point I sensed she couldn't type in all the points) Me: I smiled back. VO: how are you preparing for your travel? Me: Done. VO: is your email yourfada@nomail.go? Me: Yes. I repeated yourfada@nomail.go. VO: my office will contact you. Have a nice day. Me: Have a nice day Ma. Me: please Ma, can I ask you a question? VO: Okay? Me: I booked for visa appointment by May but was booked today 2 August. I am a bit worried because my enrollment deadline is Sept. 17. When should I expect a response from your office? VO: It is not up to us to decide. As soon as we clear you here we forward your documents to the foreign office over there. It takes us about a week to do that. The international office will decide how fast you get a response. Me: Have a nice day Ma. I didn't check time but the interview didn't feel like one. I read like someone looking for lecturer work because i had more than enough time to prepare coupled with different interview reports I got here. I was scared not leave any stone unturned. Read GMATS Cox I am going for engineering plus I already did Mechanical Engr here so I gat no excuse to fail their maths test if e show. Read virtually everything readable with facts and figures! Rivers. Political parties, their colours and number of registered voters. Busiest airports in Germany. My states facts and figures. I even studied about 12 major companies in my state and what they are into. Studied the ones trekkable from my school (about 6 of them) cos I was waiting for "Tell me facts about the city you are going...blablabla. Tips: Package facts closely related to the course you are going for. (I talked about business and entrepreneurship more because my course is Business and Engineering) E dey make them believe you. Also talk about facts about the state you are going....when they ask you what you know about Germany. In all....I was so relaxed. I never felt I was being interviewed. I guess that helped me recall a whole lot I read. #Grace. I arrived at Island 01/08 against my appointment on 02/08 and settled down in a hotel " *New World Inn*". Where I never slept throughout the night for the fear of village people fanning me till I wake up by weekend! It was nice with interior wallpaper and steady light. Thanks to @Alphapen Aka Musqit Azeez and Oga Shegun aka Baba for the boys! For taking the pain to get me settled after my long-picky hotel search. Wahlahi good people dey nairaland. I mean people wey pass you for level yet them humble to the core! If necessary...I will add few more facts about Germany so here can be a hub. Shocker: Them know about this dollarsewuosewaland (I know why I typed it so) please be careful what you post. The VO said " I have been interviewing people for years and I know you people go-to NNNNLLLL and cram and cram. So it made me drift from the usuall answers and went to different trajectory. But if you no read how you wan take do? Its better to do your part well enough then hope for Grace than the opposite. God bless Us all and grant our good wishes. Amen! |
