I always envy that profession just that it's the toughest course to study anywhere in the world!!ULl make it quick as a comedian.. |

Afghanistan: Forget that Unilorin o. I was a medical student there and I must say its really overrated. Insufficient classroom,poor conditions,poor structures and also,the lecturers. Majority of the lecturers no sabi anything as most of them are doctors who were just hired to take up lecturing to fill the gap. Imagine the HOD of a department who cannot speak good english and he calls himself a graduate of MB;BS and has a PHD in anatomy only to miseducate students in anatomy. That's why its very difficult to find professors there. Only a few professors. Another problem is the issue with departments. The college of medicine in unilorin don't have enough departments. They don't even have dentistry, physiotherapy, radiography and so on. Even nursing was just recently established. Despite all these, they keep on withdrawing students anyhow, destroying their careers all in the name of medicine. You just have to make the best of everything in this life and try to be successful in all endeavours. Just believe that you'll make it and with hardwork,you will.The post said medicine, nursing and the rest of the courses u mentioned. U talked about facaulty of basic medical sciences wtout clinical sciences. They don't have d cousrses dosent mean they don't produce fine doctors.I know that HOD u talk about and its. Not as bad as u talk. U r close about the facilities but my dear that was then, may be like 8 years ago. Things have changed quite a lot, manpower and infrastructure wise. Iv met with other graduates of other schools, esp during internship and service year, we know where we stand. And when they c our facilities, esp the tchn hospital, they clap. Even in inter school competitions. All said, medical education is a bit defective nationwide compared to overseas. Pls op ur list isn't complete without OOU. To all those calling the doctor greedy, you didn't know what went down, you don't know of his relationship with the diplomat, you don't know if he was just unfortunate to have met the man and treated his as d symptoms presented which is quite similar to malaria, you don't know if he's oblivious of the fact of the man being a diplomat..there are manythings you don't know, this man tried saving a life, ended up losing his. Till we get our facts right, let's desist from calling him names. |

This country isn't woth dying for, I bet u won't have said all dose nonsense if the dead woman were ur mother sister aunt or friend. Ur minister for health who snitches on his own used to be a president of the national association of resident doctor who lead strikes in the past. Only dose wt myopic minds would not support doctors being d chief administrators..bk memory lane dia is a post called surgeon general where a doctor plays Active roles in evryday running of the country.we had one in dis very country..its unfortunate doctors are now too busy wt patient's care and d ignorance of subsequent governents, thus d untimely death of dat post.lawyers alone don't work in courts, it will be stupoiod for a clerk to run a court in place of a barrister @ law.medicine is wide and vast, nd d training borrows a lot from all other players in d health sector, from pharmacy to nursiong and down to laboratory medicine.dia's notin rlatin to patient care dis oda ppl can use in boboing a doctor.we don't claim to know it all but its a bitter truth we are a step ahead. So to d sentimental populace wu say doctors don't have administrative accumen, go chek dia cvs many of the have certs ranging from mba to pub admin etc.where is it in d curriculum of nursing and pharmacy and d likes where dey take admin courses?d health structure is like a football pitch, no matter ow much a player earns, d refree has d final say.
