Hello everyone, i got admitted to west chester university of pennsylvania Ms computer science and i have gotten my I-20 since early last month. I am planning to pay every necessary payment i need to before i will go for interview next month. Pls i just want to know if this school is a good school and is not redflag school. Though the school is the largest of the 14 state university of the pennyslvania state but i think been the largest doesnt make it the best. I need comment about this school before i will proceed to pay my sevis and visa fee. Thank you all.

Are you telling us you went through all the process of securing admission/ getting your 120 to ask us this question? Now tell us what made you choose the school in the first place ? If you did your home work I'm not expecting you to ask this question. Anyway west chester university pennsylvania is ranked 64 best Regional Universities North by usnews and world report I leave the rest to you.

Hi Everyone,

My sponsor sent me a scanned copy of his SOA. I'll be taking with me to the embassy a printed, and seemingly not-so-authentic document since it's signed and stamped.

Hope I'm not required to go with the original copy,
Pls help on this.

hoping this won't raise questions with consulars

You can't use a scan copy! It has to be the original copy

Ideally I would have ignored this but you seem like someone that one can have a conversation with and not play in the mud. 1) I am not here to please anybody, in life there is always room to have contrary opinion and its fine 2) The relevance of the 3rd part is what you explained yourself so I don't need to make that clear anymore. Additionally him not telling them what they want to hear is not bully. Times without number I have said that I absolutely agree that there are better ways to pass his message across but he never insulted anybody. The guys shouting are the ones insulting, they need to remove the speck out of their own eyes first. I don't believe he is bullying anyone, he is not trying to force anyone to do what he wants, he just gave his own opinion.By the way, there are many opinions here and its left for whosoever to pick the good and ignored the bad. You guys are the one trying to bully him into silence. Have a good day too

My brother when one aggressively try to dominate others it's term as bullying, times without number have read most of his comments in here and I'm always like "Yo men this person is rude".... and just recently he came for me just cos I adviced someone to not just prepare harder but also seek Gods face and that's if he believes in it which ofcos is my opinion, so tell me why try to dominate that conversation when it doesn't even concerns him ? These behaviors of his is often done repeatedly and habitually here so YES he is a Bully but NO he can't Bully me : cool.......

And finally let's get on with better and important issues cos that's the main reason this page was created in the first place

This is why a lack of will to listen to correction is mentally dangerous. That part you cited is what is termed 'generic'. Go and check for B1/B2, you will see same requirement. Call the US embassy and ask them. I simply can't understand why you want to mislead people here with your oversabi. If you truly know about the US, by now you should understand what we are saying. You only need a passport valid for at least 6 months at the time of your application for F1 and not 6 months beyond your intended period of stay. cool cool

Oga this thing na just simple English be it B1/B2 F1 /F2 or any kind of visa all passports for travel to the USA should have at least 6 months past the date of intended stay before they expire. The guy asked if he could use his passport expiring around nov for his proposed interview ard first week of June I said it won't be a good idea because by the time he will be getting to the POE his passport won't be valid for six months as advice by the USA embassy so it's advisable he gets a new one

The information for student visa F1 is different from visting visa . Visitors B1B2 yes that can be worded that way but F1 with that wording ??

How about we end this now

6 months at time of entry or interview .... not intended stay is the correct rule .

If you are on a 2 years visa. The way you worded it means 6 months beyond 2 years

I do not think there is a problem about the way I worded it, as I believe it's worded the same way on the usa embassy
... It's very wrong to discredit an info if one is not sure about it's authenticity

Yo do you mean the VO are tired of listening to how you came up with your proposed choice of school by making your research online ? I don't think so or is there any other way of finding out all the necessary things to know about your proposed school if not online ? The best way to answer is to be truthful about why your made that decision of going to that school after it was recomended to you or if you made your research online give reason as to why you preferred it to other schools you came across online

[quote author=whyqueu post=67126470]HELLO FAMZ,

I seriously need clearity on this question because its has been hitting my mind since a month now. What is the best possible way to answer " How did you hear about this school" .

I know the VO's are tired of hearing I did an online reaserch and all that . Also I have heard from this forum that saying "its was recommended by mentor and co" is a sign that you are been lazy !

Please can you Top Guy's share your possible view of this !!

Nigerians ALWAYS “put God first in everything they do”... yet the country remains a hellhole that everyone wants to run away from. Who is deceiving who? Your visa applications are being reviewed by people who could care less about your God. If you read Romans 13, God is not in the business of interfering in the visa decisions of sovereign nations. You either qualify on merit or not. Praying, when you haven’t done your home work and certainly do not meet the criteria, is a waste of your time. Your pastors have obviously failed you in not teaching you very well. You can’t be praying for a fraudulent visa application to succeed. It’s like praying for God to take control of a willful abortion.

Smiles I will ignore this........

Lol you’re advising him to pray to ward off village people? We are a most gullible bunch of folks.

If you do not qualify for a visa, no amount of prayer can change that.

He is quite clearly am intending immigrant and a fraud (I’m not moved by his numerous appeals to “God”)... barely 18 minutes before his post, he was on another thread applying for a tourist visa to Canada for himself, his wife and 4 kids.

twood, smiles I was actually expecting your comment about the prayer part but when I said village people I didn't actually mean village people infact I was just being sacarstic with that. for me I prepare and I put God first in everything I do . For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, you don't have to believe what I believe in, this page is not for religious purpose but this my believe sir, and about him applying for Canada tourist visa Lwith his wife and kids, I didn't join this forum to be a monitoring spirit I only gave him my own piece of advice from my church mind

My last application was delayed and I am going for new one next month and here is is how my last application goes
Vo-morning
Me-: morning
Vo- why general studies
Me-: my intend program is agribusiness, after valuation of high school transcript I was advised to begin my course with a open option of general studies for six credit hours for nine months.
Why knansas state university-: I interact with current student and I was advised DAT base on my proposed course of study which agribusiness ...Kansas state university is one of best with excellent research opportunities which will have me to advance my education then the vo cut.
Vo-: did you write any exam-: it is not a cataria for given admission so I didn't write any N:B it clearly stated in my I20
How many credit hours is your course -: I told her 60credit hours and she said no it is more than ...o boy inside me I know dis is bad because I was with my course catalog d night before my interview I thought I wasn't important and na so her carry blue paper give and na the second one be dis ooo after been refuse 5 times for Canada and now two from us tension is high for the third one which is final one ...please guru in house what do you think I should do dis time differently

It is not a matter of how many times you applied it's about getting it right, and you have not been getting it right. so therefore before you make any further attempt, make sure this time you make adequate preparation and pray even though I don't know about your believe but believe me when I say village people still exist lol and lastly no standardized test, those visa officers interview a lot of applicants everyday with great Standardized test scores and you didn't write any it's pretty hard to convince them that you a genuine student without standardized test these days ooo

Mr Walspring. Someone, anybody.

If June is your proposed visa interview date, you can't travel to the states with the passport because your passport must be valid for atleast 6 months beyond your intended period of stay in the United States but you can still book your appointment and then renew your passport before your interview date

N.B

make sure you have both the new and old passport with you on your interview date

Sometimes when i read some post i just laughed and shake my head because when their forefathers were praying none of us were there, even our own forefathers were busy doing something else and they ended up saying IN GOD WE TRUST and am sure we know what our own forefathers trusted then.. grin grin grin grin

If you don't believe in prayer(s), you don't need to question those who believe in prayer(s). Everyone believe are personal and different.

If you believe in prayer, is better you pray now so that you wont pray later

good morning all. please I got my f1 visa denied yesterday. I really wish to post a transcript of how it went so I can know where I went wrong and what to improve on.

v.o : where are u going in d us.
me: Murray Kentucky
v o: how did you know about dis skul
me: I got to know about dis skul using different search engines such as google.com, I also looked it up on usnews.com, ustraveldocs.com
v.o: how many schools did u apply to
me: just one, actually I made a lot of research about many other skuls online but I had to settle for Murray state university because I was satisfied with wat dey could offer me....v.o nods head
v.o: who is ur sponsor( at dis moment I thought I was getting successful )
me: my cousin
v.o:what does ur cousin do?
me: he is a business man who imports and sells cars and car batteries...v.o was typing...den I later remembered he is into estate management... I now told her he is into estate management as well
v.o: why will he sponsor you?
me: I have been living with him for the past 10 years and he has been the one sponsoring my education since den till date
v.o what is ur highest level of education?
me: high skul education
v.o do u have a wife?
me: no
v.o do u av kids?
me:no
v.o av u travelled out of Nigeria b4 ??
me: no , because I have not had any reason to travel out of Nigeria
v.o: unfortunately u are not eligible at this moment please reapply
me: thanks and I left

pls I need u guys to pls help me out with dis nd let me know aw I went wrong and things I can improve on in.my next interview . Thanks

I Can't point an obvious error from your transcripts ... Yes VO asked about how many schools but I believe you gave a good reason why you chosed just one. secondly, the VO asking if you were married an Im guessing your age was also a factor for an undergraduate degree. All in all yesterday was not just your day

Me: yes, I wrote IELTS
V.o: who will fund ur studies
Me: my father
V.o: do u have his account statement?
Me: yes, I gave her.....she scan it for over 1 min.
V.o: sorry, I can not issue ur visa now, u can go through the form for the details. Thank u.........

Please where did I go wrong?

Bro you tried but I think you should have given better answers to this two questions:

How did you hear about the school ?

I think you should have emphasized more on the kind of research you made about the school

Secondly how many schools did you apply too?

Native Americans apply to 5 or more schools not to talk of international students and thats why gurus in the forum always advice that you apply to more than 1 school..... even when you knew you applied to just 1 school there's way you should have said you shortlisted few other schools but you decided to go for that one by giving a concrete reasons as too why..... bro prepare better and refire and your next transcript would be your approved visa transcript. What do i even know, I await the gurus in the house to make further input.

Haba now sis that was a poor transcript,no hard feelings but if I was the VO I wouldn't have approved your visa. Your answers to the following were too poor, didn't show you are a serious student

Vo: y twu?

You just said because you preferred the program, Haba, you should have given better reasons why you chosed the school out of all the schools in the USA by stating how the program offered in the school would benefit your academic and future goals

Vo: u are already working as an account officer, y are u going for masters in accounting again?
Me:I needed d certificate to get a better job opportunity

That second response was another Red flag ! The Vo asked you why are you going for masters in accounting when you already work as an accountant? you should have explain why you needed a master degree in accounting when you work already has an accountant. The way you answered the Vo you sounded has if you were going to just drop your degree certificate after completion of your degree... You need more preparation....

i googled it, but was not sure of what i was getting, i needed some further clarification from the gurus in the house. thanks again ma

LagosismyHome:

Is this for the US? as this not common practise in the USA. Most schools the transcript is enough

Attested mean not original copies but certified copies of a document . Usually you can take your documents to the courts and have it attested . So i am guessing this school still wants to your certificate but not original incase it get lost in the post so send an attested copy

When you are not sure , always check google for the meaning . Document Attestation means that the document had been verified by an authorized individual or official
