Good then, check for regional acredited schools in the USA some of them accept gpa of 2.75.... its also very important that you evaluate your result with WES, that way you are sure its 2.75 JoeBazz: After using the information you gave me to calculate my GPA using WES calculator my GPA is 2.75/4...thanks so much bro

It took you 5 years to get your degree due to the extra year right? Then its 5 years for course duration.... Although one thing i am not sure about, is how the extra year grades would be calculated because i never evaluated my result using any external evaluation service... JoeBazz: Thank you...I still have questions about the WES conversion. My course is 4years but I had extra year(repeated some courses) should I use 5years on the course duration? Or should I replace the failed course with the newly passed course after the extra year? I need information on this please

Sorry about your denial. failure to pronounce Where your dad worked correctly caused you and that is really unfortunate and that was why he said your dad doesn't work there. He took the stuff in so has to clerify things further with his seniors. what you should have was just done was to prove that your dad works there... infact he knows Schlumberger is the world's largest oilfield services company, it would have just taken an Administrative processing to prove that your dad works there instead Of defending your self on why you had to pronounced it that badly. Why he asked you if he had travel to the states was so he could check from his computer at that moment. you would have just told him to further confirm this and put your application on AP.... FriendlyTop: Denied today at Lagos embassy.. Am a silent follower. My confidence level boosted few minutes before the interview. There were many stammerers, Some people don't even why they chose their courses.. A guy was asked d difference between CAT 5and CAT 6 (mere Ethernet cable oh), he couldn't answer. Another guy says his company is a solution provider in software and he doesn't know about any programming language, he said something about Microsoft (I laughed) the Chinese guy was trying to help him sef, he answered most of his questions for him, he still got denied. I was hoping to get the Chinese guy cos d guy is good and knows a lot about IT. My interview Was directed to window 3. The guy wore Ankara. Vo: Good morning Me: morning Vo; pass me ur passport and I 20 I did before he even landed. Vo: how did you hear about the school I didn't hear him properly, told him to repeat and he did. Me: After I made d decision of going for masters, I used internet tool to search for schools, listed out some school online with software as d keyword, took it inside Kimberly Clark (an American company). Fortunately for me, d present automation engineer inside d plant did his masters there so it's more like a recommendation. Vo: what do you do Me: am an automation technician Vo: so u write code in c++ Me: am not really good with c++, but I write c#..as an automation person, I basically write PLC programming from Rockwell automation (he told me to repeat Rockwell). Vo: who's ur sponsor Me; my dad Vo: what does he do Me: he is into oil and gas The vo guy laugh scatter Vo: explain further Me; he is a professional project engineer with schlumberger oil field services in ph He corrected the pronunciation of schlumberger. I said that's what I call it right from time. Vo: do u have his bank statement Me; showed him he perused through it and took it inside for over 7minutes. When he got back Vo: has ur dad been to US before cos of his job Me: no he has been to Istanbul and UK vo :you couldn't pronounce your dad's company well which means he doesn't work there. I laughed and repeated that's what I call it since its German, he said he has never heard anyone pronounced it that way Me; ok Vo:what does ur mum do Me; she's into real estate. Vo: how many siblings Me; 4 am d second born Vo : I believe you are a genuine student but you will be paying 40k USD as tuition fee and am not sure u can afford it And he gave me blue paper and I left. Am not reapplying until I find a good school with moderate tuition fee and the course has to be related with software programming cos that's d only course I can defend cos of my job. Any recommendations Thanks in anticipation.

VO-Where are you going Me- Etsu Why- ME- to pursue MA in Liberal Studies VO-WHY LIBERAL STUDIES - because it by nature an interdisciplinary program, it will give me a week rounded education rather than training me to succeed in a particular job (she nods) Vo- I see you have a GA Me-yes VO-What will you do after graduation Me- I'll take up an academic position in my Alma mater, having graduated as the best student in my department, they are willing to take me VO-What course will you be lecturing Me-English (she nods) VO-What will you do with the GA Me- I will teach foundational courses during teaching hours, grade scripts and proctor tests which will prepare me for a career in academics (she nods again and says oh... OK) VO-Are you married VO:Do you have kids VO:Who will be sponsoring the rest fees Me-my uncle Mr RajiLookman VO: What does he do? Me-too he's an educationist, he owns a school VO- Why will he be sponsoring you? Me- well, he has always been sponsoring me. When I told him about my plans to study abroad, he told me to come up with a proposal. I guess he was convinced and he saw how viable my plans are, that's why he'll be sponsoring VO- She just passed me a white paper and said I should get my visa in 3working days VO- Oh... She asked if I did any test, I said GRE and told her the result without bringing it out VO-She also asked for statement if account, she looked through, she calculated and returned it to me[/quote] |

There are no rules against wearing native. if native makes him comfortable he is so good to go... infact i stumbled across a former VO comment some 2-3 years ago about what to wear for your interview and if native was allowed and then she mentioned that they are all secret admires of people wearing native during their interview and and then she mentioned how she admired a lady that wore Ankara....... Enasdan: A close person of mine, is having his F-1 Student interview this month of August, MBA, he is choosing to put on native material for the interview, I have this notion from some group of individuals that putting on native material and cap like the Yoruba type of a cap to the US embassy for an F-1 student visa interview (Master's program, MBA ) is very wrong, please house how true is this, do putting on native to the embassy for interview is it a bad impression? oh my sister words can not express how happy i am for you.... Go and succeed N.B i hope others learn from your story...... lalahhh: Im sorry but my post will be long. I decided to post this after seeing that my AP status changed to issued. First I’ll like to thank God for everything, Sorelee I thank you so so much, words can’t express how grateful I am to you. Ubah1 thank you for encouraging me. Kekenation thank you too. You guys are amazing. I have been to the embassy 7 times , 4 times last year and 3 times this year. I don’t think my last year’s transcripts would be necessary. So here’s my first interview transcript for this year. Me- Good morning VO- pass me your I 20 and passport VO- where are you going to? Me- North Carolina Central University, Durham, North Carolina for my masters in( VO cuts in) VO- what are you going for? Me- My Masters Degree in History VO- how did you get this assistantship? Me- The department’s Chair was impressed with my GRE, my transcript, statement of purpose and essay. VO- so why did you change course and school ? Me- sorry? I didn’t get that. VO- the last time you were here you were wanted to go to Arcadia so why change to NCCU? Me- Arcadia gave me partial scholarship while NCCU gave me the full ride and in NCCU, I get to minor in courses related to Peace and Conflict Resolution. VO- so who would pay for other expenses Me- I have family funds VO-which family? Me- My Uncle VO- what does he do? Me - he works with the Kwara state government, at the Lower Niger River Basin. VO- where does he live? Me- Kwara state She looks at the I 20 for a while then drops it She asked for bank statement which I gave to her She stared at it for a while , typed somethings ... In my mind I was just praying , then she asked VO- why is your Uncle paying Me- my parents sent his to school so this is more like a more thank you and he has the money VO- how many siblings do you have ? Me- 5 VO- which Uncle would be paying for them? Me- I am the last child VO - what’s the name of your Uncle Me- I said his name Then she picked up the I 20 again .... looked at it again and asked VO- are you married? Me- NO I’m not VO- do you have children? Me - No I don’t Then she finally said I’m sorry you are not found eligible at this time. This was lagos embassy. I was advised to try Abuja embassy and I did. Interview was for June 30th. VO- Good morning , Pass your I-20 Me- Answered her while passing it. VO- I see you have been denied in Lagos , why come to Abuja ? Me- after being denied I informed the school and I was asked to please try again but I checked Lagos embassy and I couldn’t get an early date but I got here in Abuja. VO- while nodding her head, what are you going to do in United States of America Me- I’m going for my masters in History in North Carolina Central University VO- how many schools did you apply to? Me- 4. University of Wyoming, Texas A&M, North Carolina A&T and NCCU. VO- I see you have full tuition waver Me - Ohh yes while opening all my 36 Then she picked up the white paper, in my mind I was saying Ohhh yes, come to Mama... I’m right here baby , then she looked at me my heartbeat increased rapidly. VO- where is you sister Me - Confused n lost .... sorry? VO- I said where is your sister? Me- she’s in USA on OTP VO- why isn’t she back? When did she travel? When is her date of birth? When did she travel? Me- ahhhh I don’t know the answers to all these questions.. we are not so close VO- wait I’m trying to help you out here Me - shaking, already disorganized Then she finally said it ... I’m sorry I won’t be issuing your visa. Me - why? What’s wrong? So I got home, with the mind of this is the end , called my sister and explained everything to her . She explained the part I mixed and begged me to go one more time, reluctantly I said ok. Luckily for me, we got July 19th on that same day. Truthfully I wasn’t so hyped about the last interview, I was dressed casually. I got interviewed by this middle aged woman on Ankara. A very nice woman I must add infact the nicest VO I ever came across. So here is the third transcript Me- Goodmorning VO- Good morning, you passport and I-20 please I gave it to her VO - ohhh NCCU Me - yeah North Carolina Central University VO- so who’s sponsoring you? Me- I have full tuition waver and family support VO- family support? Me- yea my uncle. VO- what does he do? Me- he works with Kwara state Government at the Lower Niger River Basin VO- Kwara state? Me- yea Kwara state. VO- where is that on the map? While looking at her map Me- can you see Oyo state? It’s right beside Oyo state. VO- ohhh wow , I can see it now . VO- I see you have been denied twice , what has changed about your application? Me- the last time I came here , i noticed the VO kept asking me questions about my sister that I didn’t know about and she ended up denying me. I went home, called my sister and she explained everything to me. VO- so explain it to me too Me- I did . Told her everything VO- you see the main reason why you have been denied all these while is because of your family history, you sister finished school and she didn’t return. Me- but she’s still in OTP and that’s my sister not me VO- i know and that’s why it’s called family history . il do you a favour , il overlook it Me- thank you so much VO- wait Me - in my mind, mo daran kilotun sele bayii VO- il place you on AP , if we find anything fraudulent about your documents, you will be banned from entering the USA for life. Me - No wahala , they are all real. VO- Are you sure? make sure you travel before classes starts or else you will be turned back at the port of entry. Me - ok ma’am. Thank you . Please can I pick up a tissue VO - sure please do, take as much as u need . Me- picked up the tissue and left I might have forgotten some questions asked sha but this is all I can remember. I have found this thread really helpful. The main thing is be well prepared, be organized and learn from people. Thank you so much once again Sorelee Ubah1 Kekenation Ekebs I really hope they issue yours too soon.

My visa was approved yesterday, the consular officer told me that my visa was approved. She gave me the pickup letter and did not circle any location ( I think she didn't circle the pickup location because I think she was rushing because I was the last person to be interviewed yesterday in Abuja). I hope there is no problem because the status showed Application received earlier today. |

I insist that TOEFL Is a standardized test it is written boldly on the site as a standardized test for non English Natives has a Nigerian she is not a English native And before you come back here to start arguing unnecessary like other people before you this was an interview done recently here by a member of this forum his moniker is whyqueu Ajibade105: @Ovitbaby, TOEFL no be standardized test... I think the reason for your refusal was; there's no correlation/relationship between your BS and your proposed/preferred MS program. You need to convince the VO more this time around. Success Ahead in your next visa interview. |

According to the question he asked you why do you want to study in the US and not what course you were pursuing or what the course will do for you as you answered ... when questions are asked, take 3-4 secs to understand what questions were asked before you say anything and when you don't understand or hear those questions correctly due to the VO's accents do not be shy to ask that the questions be repeated something like this as an answer would have been better ... The US is at the forefront of scientific and creative innovation. Institutions in the USA, offer opportunities for students to work side-by-side with their professors and apply what they are learning in the classroom in the lab or workshop. You will be benefiting immensely from this This colleague of yours what is his current status? Temitayo1949: The guy was just drinking something from his cupp.dont know whether is ogogoro or Coffee sef
VO: Good morning Me: Good Morning Sir Vo: Pass me your passport and I-20 Me: handed it over Vo: So why do you want to study in US? ME: I actually want to pursue my masters in Information Security.I currently work as an IT Auditor and i believe getting the degree will not only improve my technical skills but also improve my competence. Vo: What is two factor Authentication? Me: This is an authentication process that involves combination of two factors for security basically what you know such as passwords and What you have(Bio metrics, fingerprints) Vo: How do you know about the school? ME: Got to know about the school from a colleague of mine at my current place of work... Vo: is he an F1 visa recipient too Me: Yes Vo: Whats his name again(Said bla bla...Asked me to spell the name i spelt it)...To be sincere i didn't get to know from anybody just mentioned a name that came to my head cos the basis of going to the place was that i had someone there i could stay with Me: Spelt the name Kept typing... Vo: Are you married Me: No Vo: Kids? Me: No After typing for some time............. Gave me a blue paper...Sorry you are not eligible for visa at this time....Was just dumbfounded.
Gurus Kindly help me review ooo...No retreat No surrender....It will surely end in praise

Savage Quoran: Tell your 'friend' to do a Google search. It is that easy. No matter what is suggested here, your 'friend' will still make the final decision. When you do the bulk of the research yourself, it is then productive to get useful suggestions here.
By the way, why didn't your friend attend American University of Nigeria since you own the school? Lol |
