PoliticsAnti-social Media Bill Is Needed To Clean Up The Social Media Space — APC by sosanova(op): 1:09pm On Dec 10, 2015
Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John
Odigie-Oyegun, says the social media space needed clean
up as the use of outright abuses and insults instead of
constructive criticisms was wrong.
Odigie-Oyegun said this in Abuja on Wednesday in an
interaction with newsmen.
He said that the party’s stance on the controversial Bill
for an Act to Prohibit Frivolous Petitions and Other
Matters known as the anti-social media bill was known.
“The social media space needed clean up as the use of
outright abuses and insults instead of constructive
criticisms is wrong”.
He also said James Faleke will be replaced as deputy
governor-elect should the need arise.
On subsidy, he said: “ whether subsidy goes or stays is an
intricate and major issue.
‘’If it has to go, the government must have to construct
the palliatives to cushion the effect of the hardships that
may come on the ordinary Nigerian.
“Anyway, eventually, subsidy will have to go but we have
not reached that stage yet.
‘’You cannot just wake up and announce that subsidy has
been removed without putting the adequate programmes
in place to cushion the negative aspects that may be
involved.’’
The chairman told the newsmen that minimum wage was a
delicate issue because there were a lot of forces at work.
“The economy was run aground so badly that they have to
borrow to pay salaries and this was not the creation of
APC.
“Today all governments are borrowing to pay salaries and
that cannot be sustained. What the solution is on the
longer term, the machinery of governance is still working
on.
“There is no method that is adopted that will not create
stresses on any system but at the end of the day, we will
find an answer,’’ he said.
On Bayelsa election outcome, Odigie-Oyegun said that the
party was not satisfied but said that since INEC had made
a pronouncement on it, the option the party had was to
accept it or go to court.
‘’We are waiting for the processes to be concluded, but I
must say we have a lot of reservations about what has
gone on up till the present moment.
“If we win as we expect to win, the kind of reactions that
we’ll take will be different,’’ he said.

PoliticsBuhari Govt Will Fight Churches - Apostle Johnson Suleman by sosanova(op): 7:26pm On Dec 06, 2015
Apostle Johnson Suleman, founder of
the Auchi, Edo State based Omega Fire
and Miracles Ministries has said that the
Muhammadu Buhari led administration
will fight Christians.

Suleman made the disclosure while
speaking with Vanguard concerning
some of his recent prophecies. He said,
''I want to start with the latest, and that
was the death of Abubakar Audu in the
Kogi State election. I was at a crusade in
our Houston Texas branch on
November 7, 2015, when God revealed
to me that a popular politician in Nigeria
could die in the middle of an election.
''I told the nation. Then there was the
event on September 20, 2015 when I
said I saw that there was going to be
fresh bombings in Borno and I asked
Nigerians to go into prayer. Many had
believed that with the coming of
President Muhammadu Buhari to power,
the Boko Haram bombings were going
to stop but God said not yet. Also, on
Sunday October 25, 2015, I told the
world that I saw an aircraft of a foreign
nation crashing with no casualty. That
later happened to be Dynamic Airways
which caught fire but no life was lost.
All the events where these prophecies
were announced were aired live on our
ministry’s Celebration TV. On May 29,
2015, God spoke through me and I said
it that the Buhari government would
fight churches. Not long after, the
Kaduna State governor, El-Rufai, shut
down a church in Kaduna.
''This particular warning was repeated
on August 28 and September 6, 2015. On
June 26 and July 6, 2015, I foresaw fire
outbreak and buildings collapse in
Lagos, which came to pass. On that same
June 26, I warned of an inferno at
Onitsha market, which also came to
pass, because people ignored these
warnings and refused to seek God’s face
over them. Also, I’m the first man of
God that foresaw the demise of Chief
(Mrs.) HID Awolowo. During the
September Fire and Miracle Night, I did
warn of the impending death of a
prominent female figure that will touch
the nation.

PoliticsAPC Can’t Penetrate Into My Constituency – David Mark by sosanova(op): 5:07pm On Dec 06, 2015
Former Senate President, David Mark has assured that Benue South Senatorial zone will remain
impenetrable for the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming re-run election.
He based his optimism on the overwhelming solidarity and
support “by my people who are solidly behind me . I can tell
you without any fear of contradiction that there is no
opposition to my party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
in my zone.”
Speaking when the Senate caucus of the PDP paid him a
solidarity visit following the annulment of his March 28,
2015 Senatorial election, Mark assured that the Appeal
tribunal verdict has strengthened him and his constituents
the more.

A statement issued on Sunday by Paul Mumeh, the Media
Assistant to the Senator, quoted Mark as saying: “The
Appellate tribunal judgement came as a surprise to me. But
I am happy there is opportunity for a rerun election. I can
assure you that any day, any time, my people will vote for
me.
“Benue South Senatorial zone is totally a PDP arear. One
Senator, the four House of Representative members, 10 out
of 11 state House of Assembly members are all members of
the PDP . So, clearly, there is no room for APC or any other
party in my area.
“Be rest assured that under a free and fair contest , I have
no challenger. My people would not be cowed or intimidated
to do otherwise.
“I respect the ruling of the Appeal Tribunal , but let no one be
deceived by any gimmick that the result of the election was
declared while collation was still on. The Independent
National Electoral Commission(INEC) returning officer
Professor Latif Tiamiyu who announced the result three
days after the election, a university Professor is alive.

“The election was conducted on March 28, 2015 , the result
was declared on March 30, 2015, how could the result have
been declared before the final collation?.
“For me, it is one of those ironies of life. I take it in good
faith. I know as a matter of fact that my people will rise up
to the challenge to vote for me and defend their votes”.
Speaking earlier, the Deputy President of the Senate, Chief
Ike Ekweremadu who led the 49 PDP Senators on the
solidarity visit, said the appeal tribunal verdict was only a
temporary setback, but expressed confidence that Senator
Mark will triumph at the rerun polls.
According to him, “We are here to assure you our leader that
we will stand by you. We know your worth; Nobody can
diminish the fact that you remain a great asset to this
country. We know your people value you. They will not let
you down.
“We will be with you in this struggle. You are not new to this
kind of battle. Like in the previous challenges, you will come
out Victorious because you mean well for your people and
this country.”

PoliticsDino Melaye Dares Saharareporters, Says Sowore Will Go To Jail by sosanova(op): 4:56pm On Dec 06, 2015
Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West has dared
online news platform, SaharaReporters to register with the
Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria, threatening that its
founder, Omoyele Sowore will go to jail.
Melaye’s unprofessional reaction follows an exposé by
SaharaReporters that the former House of Representatives
member opened a ban account with the Bank of America in
the United States.
“I dare Sahara to register with corporate Affairs
commission. Sowore’s jail term will be longer than that of a
monkey in the zoo,” Melaye wrote on Twitter.
I dare Sahara to register with corporate Affairs commission.
Sowore's jail term will be longer than that of a monkey in the
zoo.
— Otunba Dino Melaye (@dino_melaye) December 6, 2015
Melaye’s operation of the foreign account while he is an
elected public officer of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is a
violation of the Nigerian law. The breach could cost him his
seat at the Nigerian Senate if he is successfully prosecuted
by the Code of Conduct Tribunal which is currently trying
Senate President Bukola Saraki, a close associate of Mr.
Melaye’s.
According to SaharaReporters, Melaye, who once styled
himself an anti-corruption activist, opened two accounts–
one a current account, the other a savings account–in the
name of “Daniel Din Melaye,” posing as a student.
SaharaReporters learnt that, by leaving the impression of
himself as a student, Senator Melaye was able to open a
“CampusEdge” current account with account number 4460
1649 8396 and a regular savings account with account
number 4460 1647 5966 with Bank of America in the state
of Maryland.
Senator Melaye obtained a bank debit card with account
number ending with #8873. It is the senator’s transactions
with the debit card that gave away him away as the owner
of the accounts.
One of Melaye’s last transactions on the account took place
on December 4th as he approved payment for a transaction
relating to the purchase of cosmetics from a Kremlin-based
MagnitKosmetik store. Also, on September 1, Melaye
approved payment to a New York-based Schweiger
Dermatology.
