I watched this for the 1st time yesterday and I was amazed. |
toyingbad: After BSc Anatomy am now going in for medicine in a medical school in Nigeria. I have my fears but I pray its worth it. The passion outweighs d stress right?Believe me,Your level of passion would determine if it outweighs the stress. |
Hi, stumbled on this thread late I guess..and too lazy to go through it all to check out what the gist has been about. But I'll like to ask what anyone knows about going to Canada for Masters in Medical courses and possibly residency. Does Canada also require USMLE or have their own licensing exam? Are GRE and TOEFL a must for all schools? |
If my spouse is okay with it I would love to adopt a kid or two after the 3 I plan on having. |
This is a really cool thread(to me) 'cos the topic is a relevant one. Just the other day I was telling a friend that my spoken english is getting worse. Now,its not like I don't speak well,I do. But I just feel I can do better....improve my vocabulary(not necessarily elaborate words) and diction. At the end of the day,its up to an individual to desire improvements. I also wanna improve ma written english,so I don't have to always spell-check what I type. Cos there would be times when that won't be available at the moment you need it. That said,I've got a quick question. Do you think those that speak their mother tongue very well have problems speaking good english?? I watched inside out with agatha and the topic was the extinction of our indigenous languages. And then someone said there is so much emphasis on english that's why kids can't speak vernacular these days. That parents feel that if they teach their kids their languages they won't be able to speak proper english. |
@budyke Going back for mbbs all depends on the school policy. In my sch,a bms graduate with and upper division degree gets direct entry into mbbs from 300level and its just to write the mb and move to 400level,you don't do the 300level from begining. And you do 2instead of 3 courses in the mb. You don't get to do the course you hold a degree in in the exam. I grad from physio so in the mb all I did was anat and bch. But all that changed last year, all ◦ †нªηк'§ ◦ to nuc wen they withdrew the sch license for over admitting. But some other schs still take direct entry. @the topic--- the way forward in my opinion is to restructure the bms programme and create job opportunities in the health sector for their graduates. |

So I've got just one more posting to go. Then nysc. I had a crazy day yesterday. Of course its not the first and even not the worst I've had but it was draining all the same. My current posting is obs and gyn..and am currently stationed at the labour ward. Work started at 8am and continued till 4pm. Ma unit was on call and calls start from 4pm till 8am next day. Wat made yesterday crazy was dat,it seems all the preggies in the decided to go into labour or have some complaint!! I mean I was practically on my feet all day. All beds were occupied. Mehn it wasn't funny. Call ended at 8am and another I continue till 4pm again. Ma first meal of the day was by 5.30pm. After eating,I just laid down still in my work clotes and dozed off till.................. Walahi,ko easy. Today has got to be better! Y'all have agood day. ![]() |
@neuronin well said I had a bsc in physio, and went futher to get an mbbs. But physio truly is the bedrock of medicine. A re-evaluation of the application of our graduates in the health sector in Nigeria would go a long way. |

half naked dressing to church is bad, you can stay at home and worship God if you dont have any decent wear, than go to church and make people murmur. |
