There's obviously a swelling above the left ear, causing facial asymmetry.
Without the advantage of a physical examination and an Xray, no one can definitely say whether it's arising from the bone or the soft tissues.
So, the swelling needs to be thoroughly examined by a surgeon, and relevant investigations requested.

But if the first Xray showed no abnormality, it means those who went for Lipoma may actually be right, as the Xray wouldn't have failed to show it, if it's actually arising from the bone.
Bottom line, you need to go back to the hospital to see a surgeon.
thanks, God bless you

Sadly ,nobody can tell what it is now without an MRI or ct scan.. Muster enough funds and do it,..so that u can commence treatments if need be..
Thanks

If it's really bony, the X Ray would capture it.
For a bony swelling, you don't need an MRI.
If the X Ray is not helpful, the next should be a CT scan.
Can you send a picture of the swelling and the X Ray here?
I already discarded the X-ray result since it's useless, but I'll upload the pics of the inflammation.pics uploaded

I'm not a doctor but if it was a tumor it would have worsened by now without treatment. Especially if it's malignant. 2016 you say right?

Whatever is going on is likely benign. I'm quite sure of that but since I'm not a medical professional I'd still recommend you continue follow up with your medical practitioner and other practitioners on this thread can opine.

You said you had an Xray. Have you tried going for a CT scan instead of MRI? Although its electromagnetic wave/radiation like X-ray but I believe it's more affordable than MRI.
Also the risk of exposure is very low.
If after the CT scan there's a need for further investigation then they'd recommend MRI.

Hopefully the doctors in the house can provide further guidance.

PS: if it's Lipoma, it's also benign.
thank you sir,God bless you

Might be likely a benign inflammation maybe pressing on a critical part of the brain or skull.

Take Pain relievers, anti-inflammatory and antibiotic medicines.

Sorry Bro, I feel your Pain.

It is well.
thank you sir,it's really depressing.

Doctors in the house please I need your help.Towards the end of the year 2016,I noticed an inflammation (swelling) at the left side of head close to the ear.At first first I didn't take it serious, but I started noticing symptoms like severe headache (it stretches over 16 hours per day),muscle spasm and sometimes I feel exhausted after exerting myself a bit.I have visited the hospital a couple of times,I was directed to undergo an X-ray test.I took the result to the hospital, the doctors said nothing is wrong with me.i visited another hospital and one of the doctors said it's lipoma,I know it's not lipoma because the inflammation is bony.I would have undergone a MRI scan but it's costly we(parents and I) can't afford that at the moment.please does anyone know what it is?I pray it's not what I'm thinking it is(a tumor). it's almost 4 years I have been battling the inflammation, help me Sometimes I feel like my head is like an electronic box with lot of connected wires but 70% of the wires are fried.

lt depends on what type of programming he is talking about. For web development and app development most times, math skills are not really required to get started. For machine learning and A.I, maybe. But even in Machine learning, you can get started with the programming and learn the required math along the way.
alright thanks for the contribution

Ok let me go first.

There was this girl in my class during my predegree days. Anytime she's watching a movie she always mute the sound even when she's watching movies without subtitles. I asked her how she understands what the movie is about and she said she understands by their gesture/body language.

There was this other girl in my hostel with asthma. It's like she's got a death wish or something. The girl is always looking for what will trigger her. Na she go wan sweep the dusty surroundings, na she go wan fry plantain with red oil. One day she had an attack and we searched her bag for her inhaler, it was empty. Come see how we were running helter-skelter to get inhaler for her at 11pm. Thank God one guy got a spare she for die that night.

Over to you.

Family / Re: My Stepmother Poured Hot Water On My Baby! I'm So Angry by Spartancosta(m): 9:16pm On Apr 13, 2020
Tiarababy:
I'm married with one kid. My husband lost his job when I was seven months pregnant. We are no longer living together. I'm back to my dad's house with my step mom and 4 siblings.

Things are not easy for us here because my step mom hated us from day one. She only cooks for herself, my dad and her children. She don’t give me and my baby and my brother from the same mom food. I have been managing with the little money I get from my husband. I do cook for us to eat that’s a story from another day.

Last week I went to meet with my husband to get money he promised to give me to stock up foods for us during this lock down. I left my baby with my brother only for me to come and meet my brother carrying my baby. She was screaming in pain and when I looked she had burn in her body from her right chest to her right hand. I almost collapsed because I left my baby very fine in good healt.

My brother said my step mom was preparing tea for her kids so she had left the hot water in the pot and my baby fell on the hot water. I got angry at my brother how could he be careless not to watch my baby when he knew our step mom don’t like us. I almost hit him and my step mom didn’t care. She acted like nothing, not even a sorry to me. My dad says I should be quiet accidents do happen and it’s nothing to be angry about. His words really shocked me but what can I do.

What pained me is my little sister of 5 years opened up to me that it was my step mom who poured water on the baby because she caught my baby eating her bread she left and she told her to keep quiet if she tells she will beat her and she pleaded with me not to tell her mum.

I knew she did it because she is very wicked but because I had no proof, I had to be quiet but now her daughter has confirmed she did, I want to deal with her because am so angry seeing my baby in so much pain.

Why pour hot water on a baby just because of bread? I hate her and I want to pour hot water on her too while she sleeps so she can feel the same pain she put my innocent baby.

Should I pour hot water on her too or what is the best way to deal with this witch?
thank God everyone is not like me,I no go gree.i go just go arrange with my guys Dem go beat heaven and hell outta the witch.

Education / Re: On The Poverty Of University Mathematics In Nigeria And The Way Forward. by Spartancosta(m): 2:37am On Apr 03, 2020

The lecturers I have seen thus far in our university do not strike me as scholars.
I was in class the other day and a professor was teaching Dedekind's Cut.
It's a particular topic in Mathematics, after he presented the topic it dawned on me that I'm only wasting my time in school. I'll not discuss how he taught it here so as not to derail this post.
Another one happened in a "Real Analysis" class where this professor was teaching something "incorrect" in class. Almost all what he taught that day was not correct, I couldn't correct him partly because I was afraid and also, he was technically copying from his notes so it's pointless asking him questions that he cannot answer.

I left his class and since that day I have not gone to any class again, I just go for tests and exams.

As for Scholarships I'm always reluctant to apply because my WAEC result is not filled with A's and so I fear my chances are limited since scholarships are always limited and you are not judged based on your intellectual sophistication but based on a piece of paper.

I'll just study independently, after all, people like Galois, Heaviside, Weistrass, Kolmogorov, Ramanujuan, Boole, etc. All made important contributions to Mathematics without university education.
sir I also have passion for mathematics,do you mind taking me under your wing?
