The Chief of Staff (CoS) portfolio under the Buhari administration was unarguably the most powerful in recent history,because Buhari allowed it .Some presidents won't do that.

A Chief of Staff has no schedule. He is the clearing agent, he does all the job the President will ordinarily want to do but for plausible deniability.

He is the closest to the President and every member of Staff in the Presidency is answerable to him, he can hire and fire. See ehn, the Chief of Staff is everything!

He is 'everything' if his or her boss gives him or her the leverage. The only powerful COS staff to the president was late Abba Kyari.He was that powerful because Buhari allowed him.
