Politics › Re: Misconceptions About Nigeria Army COIN Ops In NE Theatre by sphinx54: 11:35pm On Feb 06, 2015 |
Vikkie14: Disclaimer: This is to clear the air on some mis-interpreted, mis-quoted, misconceptions trailing the COunter INsurgency war in the North East of Nigeria.
First and foremost, the war on terror is the sole responsibility of the NA and these are being carried out by the Nigeria Military. The liberations of some towns and villages under BokoHaram are done by the collective effort of the NA and NAF--- yeah, you heard/read me right. Forget those "news" circulating around that Chad is the one doing the mission. You might want to ask why it took the Military such a long time to respond DECISIVELY, ADEQUATELY, in that "Earth-shaking Mission presently ongoing---(according to credible intel) NA army waited till the "needed" hardwares came before they launch the Offensive. Now, to set the record straight, there are no mission being carried out by either the Chadian Airforce or Army on Nigeria soil EXCEPT the ones by the MNJTF which comprises of Nigeria,Chad,Cameroun. All missions(according to reliable sources) by the Multi National Joint Task Force are RESTRICTED TO THE BORDER except specified otherwise. One more thing, some media (foreign and local) are trying to portray the NA as weaklings. Nigeria Army are being showned as a "failure" by media especially the western media. We must rise against this. THEY ARE TRYING TO GIVE THE GLORY OF THE WAR TO CHAD at the detriment of Our Fallen Heroes on the Battle Fronts. Say NO to Propagadanists who are hell-bent on bringing Nigeria down on its kneel.
The Nigerian Army and Navy have never been this armed with SOPHISTICATED weapons in its 55 years history. NIGERIAN NAVY IS THE BEST IN AFRICA BOTH IN OFFICERs and VESSELS assests . On paper this should be the most powerful Nigerian army ever; From British Vickers we've graduated to top line "T-72 TANKs(with ERA)", we've moved from Hillux trucks and rickety apcs to "BTR-4 Infantry Fighting Vehicles(IFVs)" with some featuring "SLAT ARMOUR or CAGE ARMOUR". For reconnaissance we now have assets in Space in numbers not seen before on the African continent. PRESENTLY We(Nigeria) fly the MOST ADVANCED Maritime/Aerial surveillance craft in Africa. We've graduated from ingenuously building Drones to actually using "Armed" Drones-- i repeat, UNMANNED COMBAT AERIAL VEHICLE(UCAVs) , the ONLY military in Africa to do so. We have MRAPS(Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles) other countries like Chad and Cameroun can only dream of.
TOWNS LIBERATED BY MNJTF AND NA/NAF
Some of the towns liberated by the soldiers of the Multi National Joint Task Force from Nigeria, Chad, Niger and Cameroon are Gamboru-Ngala, Malamfatori, Abadam, Kirawa and Ashigashiya and Michika. It was gathered that troops had encircled Gwoza, and were moving against the town which was captured and made part of a caliphate announced by the insurgents last year. An Intelligence personnel said on Thursday that the Nigerian Army also made a big break in the battle against the insurgents by recovering some of the most lethal military equipment captured by insurgents when they took over the Baga base of the task force. The recovered equipment included “a Battle Armoured Tank equipped with comprehensive protective system and maximum firing distance and accuracy with anti-aircraft rotating mount; its fire accuracy is attained by range-finder, ballistic computer with a thermal barrel sleeve.” Several other weapons, arms and ammunition, including variety of armoured vehicles and artillery guns, as well as several Hilux vehicles were also taken from them.
So Our Army are the one doing the Job. We must stop this "hype" of Chadian as the "saviour". If they are that strong, HOW DO BOKO HARAM KILL HUNDREDS OF CIVILIAN AND SOLDIERS IN CAMEROUN WHERE the self-gloried CHAD ARMIES ARE HEADQUARTERed?? NA are doing the Needful liberating towns so election would hold in those villages. Let's keep praying for them.
FINALLY, Let me state/say/type it CATEGORICALLY, ASSUREDLY, AUTHORITATIVELY THAT BOKO HARAM HAS "NO ANSWER" TO THE EQUIPMENTS THE MILITARY IS FIELDING--- I repeat, BH has NO answer(weapon, counter measure) to the "destructive, decimating, annihilating, surpressing, earth quaking

jars9: How on earth would you say someone should take an uneducated 72 years old man that has been out of government for over 30 years to be his president?
Well, if you may care to know, Buhari won't rule with decrees and this time around it will be laws as entrenched in the constitution. So the era of waking up and enacting a decree is over. Looking at the people bankrolling his campaign and the party, they are a collection of aggrieved congregational congress according to Soludo. These guys are angry because, they have not being able to lay their hands on our common wealth.
Come to think of it Nigerians ,can Buhari cope with the complexities of modern leadership? We are in a situation in Nigeria where the President outsourced his responsibilities because he isn't capable and we are clamouring for someone that is even super clueless. Yes, he has no integrity........Well, time will tell. Fighting corruption in Nigeria is like fighting unemployment benefit and immigration issues in the UK.
Can't make his past my children's future he will loose woefully, if he could not achieve his aim then as a military ruler he can't now we are only deceiving ourselves,

Stop lying, Buhari never supported them! He compared them, yes. But aren't the militants terrorists as well? All he was trying to say was that they should use the same approach they used for the militants, simple! But as usual, people tried to paint him bad.
They were illegal immigrants! Don't you understand? Go and stay in the US or UK illegally and see if you won't be deported.

Christianity Etc › Re: Muslims Did Not Protect Christians On Christmas Day - CAN by sphinx54: 10:02am On Jan 01, 2015 |
freshness2020: The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kaduna State on Wednesday debunked widely circulated reports that some Muslims protected Christians during Christmas service in Kaduna town. Reverend Sunday Ibrahim, the secretary of the Kaduna State chapter of CAN, made the refutation in a statement he released at a press briefing.
Mr. Ibrahim stated that it had nothing against genuine peace advocates, but added that it opposed the spreading of falsehood. The Christian organization declared that there was no single church in Kaduna that faced any attack that warranted protection. It also disclosed that the usual security agents were drafted to secure Christian worshippers on Christmas day.
“It has become imperative for us to clarify this falsehood and confusion in local and international media,” said the CAN spokesman. “Many of our members have been calling and asking questions whether a Church was protected from being attacked by Muslims in [the] Sabo area on Christmas day? And we said it is not true, and we don’t want people to create panic and dishing out [an] inciting story,” the statement continued.
According to the CAN official, “there was no attempted attack on any Church in Kaduna town on Christmas day that [warranted] some Muslims coming to protect the Church from attackers.”
Mr. Ibrahim emphasized that there was “no record of any Church in Sabon Tasha, Barnawa and environs out of the over 400 Churches that was protected by Muslims. Sabon Tasha is a 100 percent Christian-dominated area, and how will Muslims come from Rigasa and Tudun Wada to protect a Church in Sabon Tasha?”
He added: “We are not against any peace initiative as we are working with Jama’atu Nasril Islam for peace. However we are not aware of this fabricated story from any Church, security agencies, military, police and the SSS capable of creating confusion.
He explained that some Muslims visited a Christian pastor on Christmas day to celebrate Christmas with him, but not to protect a Church as was widely reported. He urged the media to verify their facts before publishing, assuring Christians that no single Church was threatened on Christmas day.

We even thought its better you dont contest again if you loose this one so that young and vibrant minds can come onboard to chat the course of this nation. Another suggestion of mine is if you dont win,you can as well make your impact felt in the coming administration by giving advice rather than thinking you can only affect the nation only by ruling it. Politics › Re: FG: ISIS In Nigeria To Recruit Fighters by sphinx54: 12:19pm On Dec 24, 2014 |
Tinubu: I am not a Muslim... Actually I am a devout Christian.
But I strongly disagree with those who feel that Islam is a religion of terror.
When Christians were carrying out their crusades, crucifying and burning people at the stakes, no one totally classified them as terrorists.
The military conquest of the land of Canaan by the Hebrews in about 1200 B.C.E. is often characterized as "genocide" and has all but become emblematic of Biblical violence and intolerance.
God told Moses: But of the cities of these peoples which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance, you shall let nothing that breathes remain alive, but you shall utterly destroy them—the Hittite, Amorite, Canaanite, Perizzite, Hivite, and Jebusite—just as the Lord your God has commanded you, lest they teach you to do according to all their abominations which they have done for their gods, and you sin against the Lord your God.
So Joshua [Moses' successor] conquered all the land: the mountain country and the South and the lowland and the wilderness slopes, and all their kings; he left none remaining. (Deut. 20:16-18. Josh. 10:40)
In light of the above, why should Christians point to the Qur'an as evidence of Islam's violence while ignoring their own scriptures and history....
True, terrorism might seem to be exclusive to Muslims these days, but you don't adjudge a crate of eggs to be rotten simply because a few of the eggs are rotten. As we have witnessed in Nigeria in the past few years, bombs and bullets do not differentiate between Christians and Muslims. There are no Muslim bombs or bullets. You stand in their way, you are dead irrespective of whether you are the Sultan of Sokoto or Pope John Paul.
Let us all stop passing the buck, and unite as one to fight it in its entirety.
PEACE IS ALL WE NEED

I repeat, Buhari did not go to US War College because he was exceptional. Buhari went there because NA sent him there. And of course, even civillans go there. No big deal. He has never done any exceptional school. Chinua Achebe attended University of Ibadan. Many less than average students were also there. So, that these guys you mentioned were there does not in any way prove how exceptional Buhari was as a soldier. Buhari is on there website as a famous graduate because he was a Nigerian Head of State. Without that, he would not have been there as a famous graduate. Sani Abacha is also a famous graduate of Aldershot. You have so much hate in your heart. |

They talked and walked with a unique swagger. Buhari was trained in Aldershot. Again, while I will not downplay the training he got at Aldershot, I do not see the reason for noise about going there because it was the second rate Nigerian soldiers that were sent there. On the US Army College, Buhari was sent there for leadership training which is the norm for people of his rank in the military--even if the person was the worst of olodo. It is not as if he was there because he was exceptional. he was there because he had to be there and Nigeria had to send him there. It is just like attending our own National Institute of Strategic Studies. Once you get to a certain rank in the civil service (I think Director) or Police (Commissioner of Police), you attend courses at NISS. It is done to prepare you for higher office. It doesn't mean you are exceptional, it only means you got what is due to you. Why the hate |

For instance,Orji Kalu was in Harvard and he has some top business people who 'graduated' from an executive programme with him there. But yoAnd it is not true that 'it is more like a masters graduate programme'. Nope. For a programme to be like a masters programme it has to be accredited to be so. Even Buhari cannot claim to have obtained a military 'masters graduate programme'. It's like saying that anybody who attended our own NDA did their bachelor or graduate programme.
