Thank you. I am not prescribing we drive the Igbos out or force them to Biafra, I have a lot of ties with Igbos both personally and professionally. But rather than war, let's go our separate ways, rather than genocide, let's separate.
Yes the Igbos are currently at the forefront of commerce but have failed to realize that commerce thrives because there is a demand. Simply, there is a seller because there is a buyer. They believe that if they withdraw from Nigeria. The economy I'll crash. They fail to see that as long as demand remains supply will come. Others eventually will source for ways to me demands.
They however will have an aggregate of suppliers, when supply outweighs demands, what happens?
We need each other, we are better together but none is doing the other a favour.
Rather than a Liberia, a Rewanda! A Congo, let Biafra go! We gave nothing to loose. |

Politics › Re: BIAFRA: Whose Interest? by Spicygal: 11:17pm On Dec 02, 2015 |
UNKNOWNSOJA: The recent wave of a rejuvenated interest in Biafra has got me really thinking what the agitators have got to gain. NOTHING!, in my humble opinion other than massive death, severe starvation, bitterness, and a renewed hatred for the Igbo tribe from the North, West and Southern Nigeria tribes, as was the case during the first civil war.
Interestingly, I have not found an elite or a single elderly Igbo person who is supporting this new cause, I mean those that witnessed the civil war first hand, you probably wouldn't find one, I think they know what's up and know far better than those '1 Million' youths marching for the realization of Biafra. Affliction shall not rise up the second time - Nahum 1:9 (elderly Igbo people are gray enough to understand this verse of the Holy Scriptures better, but the youths are too green to comprehend the message therein).
Over the years, I have read different accounts of the Civil war. My Command- Olusegun Obasanjo, There was a Country- Chinua Achebe, Because I am involved-Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu, BIAFRA STORY: The making of an African Legend- Frederick Forsyth and Brig. Gen. Godwin Alabi-Isama's well documented account- Tragedy of Victory- Godwin Alabi-Isama (I hope Gen Gowon publishes his account soon), have also heard some oral account during my visits to Enugu, Abia, Ebonyi, Imo,Anambra and even Northern Cross-River State where the first shot was fired at Gakem.
These accounts speaks volume. Nigeria stagnated, Biafra was devastated- Benjamin Adekunle flexed his muscles wasting innocent lives on the Biafra side and the almighty Oganigwe Bomb showed its ingenuity by dismembering body parts of the Federal soldiers. What was achieved at the end? NOTHING!, This led to the 'No Victor, No Vanquished' speech by Gen Gowon in 1970.
Come 2015, 45 years after the surrender of the Biafra soldiers, and the full absorption of the 'Biafrans' back into Nigeria, they have occupied virtually all positions in Nigeria, and only the lack of unity amongst them have caused them the opportunity of producing an N'digbo President. What else do they want? What cause are they fighting? Ohh, Nnamdi Kanu?? He's activities and actions at Radio Biafra are tresonable going by the law (Section 37(1b) of the Criminal Code Act) so allow him to defend himself and face the consequences of his actions. Well, maybe the dream is to be like Monaco, Catalonia or even The Vatican.
Today, I heartily enjoin all my Igbo brothers and sisters to please desist from actions and activities that are not in the best interest of Nigeria's unity, especially now that Nigeria is experiencing gradual positive change that we all can see, feel and experience.
I'd like to conclude with this beautiful quote by J.K Rowling: “We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided", and another sweet one from the legendary Bob Marley: "One love, one heart . . .Let’s get together and feel all right "
God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
¤Selesi Olawale¤ My brother it is in every ones interest for Biafra to exist. Nigeria is too big and complex. Like they say marriage is not by force. At the very least let us be a United Nations of Nigeria like in the Middle East. FLet each nation run their own economy. Imagine a SW without Igbos, with Fashola as president and Fayemi as VP. Yes we will hav initial teething problems but we will overcome it easily. We have Oil, Bitumen and an array of minerals. |

Dosinspector: I don't know the motive of those refeering onitsha mosque as hausa mosque, why can't they call it mosque, why re people trying to instigate violence,is it only hausas re muslems or is it only hausas the pray at the mosque, why aren't People calling it yorubas mosque, people re trying to make it look like this struggle is igbos vs hausa, the struggle is igbos vs nigeria, people should stop trying to instigate violence trough propaganda because propaganda kills more than guns and ammunitions Wait o, weren't you the ones calling Hausas monkeys and baboons? Crying that the zoo must burn. Calling Yorubas cowards? The fight never start, una dey he cold feet! Cry baby, it's not Hausa mosque, lol. Didn't you say no Islam in Biafra? Whose mosque is it? Is it Igbo mosque? So when you guys were inciting hatred, you didn't think of your brothers in Kano? |
Politics › Re: Why Are Some Yoruba Against Biafra? by Spicygal: 9:03am On Dec 02, 2015 |
It's true there aren't as many Yorubas in the SE but you will be unfair to deny the level of tribalism in the SE compared to the SW. (Tribalism wasn't then synonymous to hatred). You also didn't mention states where non indigenes were dismissed from civil service. Dr. Ariyo? Smh - that was in poor taste yet the three combined is tiny beside what Radio Biafra was doing. kponkedenge: I'll blame Fashola becos it started first under him, it will be wrong to ignore it and go straight to blame Radio Biafra. As much as I don't like the way Nnamdi Kanu runs the channel, you should also know that whatever Nnamdi Kanu says, is as a repercussion of what earlier happened under Fashola's tenure. You made mention of Igbo people in Fashola's tenure, fine. But you also need to know that Igbo's travel a lot, if you ask me and if you're honest enough you'll know is the Igbo's that practice this so called 'One Nigeria' the most. They leave their region and go to the SS, SW and North to setup businesses, no other tribe in Nigeria does that. Most people also think that because the SEasterners leave their enclave to setup businesses outside their zone thinks the SE is impoverish, I just laugh cos most of them haven't been to the SE before. Now back to your question; most SEasterners have settled in Lagos, own buildings here, pay tax, do business, and also have a strong population (although am not disputing the fact Lagos belongs to the Yoruba's), so why shouldn't they hold post here. It can't happen in other SWestern states cos the Igbo population there are nothing to write home about, it can only happen in Lagos becos Lagos is a diverse city. If the Yoruba's travel a lot you might begin to see them hold post in other regions too, so I really don't see that as a valid point. An example is Universities, most SWestern universities have a strong Igbo population, go to the East, before you'll find a Yoruba schooling there is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, is not that nobody is chasing them, but they choose not to come on their own, so don't blame others for coming out of their own region.
Lastly, my stance is that Fashola caused all this by deporting people from their very own country, and is still this same Fahola that will tell you he wants 'One Nigeria'. Oba of Lagos poured petrol into the fire and Dr Ariyo removed the extinguisher to quench it.
Good to see a reasonable Yoruba girl like you making an argument devoid of insults. |
Politics › Re: Why Are Some Yoruba Against Biafra? by Spicygal: 8:06am On Dec 02, 2015 |
There is no group that doesn't have their own issues. It's not only the igbos that speak pidgin but it's more of their influence than any other group. Yes, Yorubas are in PH hustling too but can you compare the numbers? If Biafra starts, they will all come back. Lastly, how can you blame the Yorubas for developing their state? Why didn't the Igbos site their companies in the east? Either way am ok, Biafra or no Biafra. But let their be no hate. Millerz: I'm not Igbo, neither am I pro Biafra but I must say the truth, you Yoruba's have a problem too.
are Igbo's the only ones who speak pidgin in Nigeria? have you been to PH to see Yoruba's in their drones hussling too? why is there only one fully functional airport and seaport in Nigeria? why did the yorubas choose to take everything to lagos thereby marginalising the rest of the entire country? |
Politics › Re: Why Are Some Yoruba Against Biafra? by Spicygal: 7:59am On Dec 02, 2015 |
I thinks unfair to blame it on Fashola, a lot of people spewing hatred have never live in Lagos. Ethnicity is a factor in Nigeria and it takes little to fan the flames to fire. This same Fashola appointed Igbos as Permanent secretaries and even as commissioners. He recognized and even paid Igbo traditional rulers in Lagos. Haba! Let's be fair, where else in Nigeria esp the SE is that done? Rather, the governor of Abia state fired many non indigenes from civil service yet there was no hatred. You can't talk of this hate without the role of Biafra radio daily referring to others as monkeys and baboons. It sure wasn't Fashola even though the deportation wasn't the best. kponkedenge: There's something you people fail to know and the lie you've been telling yourselves is beginning to look like the truth. As for this tribal stuff between Igbo and Yoruba, it started during Fashola's tenure when he started deporting Igbo's for no reason, he did it twice without even blinking an eye. Igbo's voted fashola the both times he contested, it was after his second term the relationship of both ethnic groups collapsed and Igbo's opted for JK in the last election, and then the Oba of Lagos came again to spite the Igbo's even further. A certain Dr Ariyo all the way in US even called for genocide against the Igbo's and most Yoruba's supported him, you can also see the hate most Yoruba's dish out to Igbo's here on NL. The truth is that the once good relationship the both ethnic group once shared has collapsed beyond remedy so is better everybody go his own way for the good of everybody. The Hausa's don't like Igbo, some Yoruba's also don't and on a daily basis, the number of these Yoruba's keep swelling everyday. A sane Yoruba man will know Igbo isn't his problem becos we've coexisted together for long and even married yet you don't hear killings from both tribes. I'll remind you again, it was Fashola that broke down the relationship of these two groups, hold him responsible and nobody else. |

A lot of Yorubas aren't against Biafra and don't mind them going. The annoyance of a few is that this Biafra brouhaha is more about GEJ loosing. Just a few months ago, they held most of the juicy posts in Nigeria while the west held little now the case is reversed they are crying marginalization. Lastly a lot are also angry about the tribalistic comments made on Biafra radio often cursing Yorubas. If it was on a friendly note, most Yorubas would support them.
Personally I do, though the method is hideous but the possibility of a nation where Yoruba or English is spoken on our streets and our children are taught in Yoruba, a highly decongested Lagos and free of pidgin appeals too much to me and a whole lot of Yorubas. |

saintikechi: Biafra is shaking the foundation of Nigeria. Freedom is in sight. Really? The foundation of Nigeria? Very funny. More like the foundation of the east. I think Buhari is doing to the East what GEJ did to the north, allowing them to cripple their economy by themselves. Who are 80% of those affected by shutting the bridge? If Biafra believes that they is the one upholding Nigeria, the best way to deal with Nigeria is to pull out. Move back massively to the land you call Biafra then you may be taken serious. |
Politics › Re: Firm To Establish Refineries In Ondo, Lagos by Spicygal: 5:14am On Dec 01, 2015 |
Mynd44: Not Lagos again. Two refineries are already coming in Lagos and the construction has gotten well past half way. The include Dangote's 650,000bpd and 0ando's 350,000bpd. They can move it to delta or Rivers state but not lagos.
Lagos is already overpopulated as it is By the time Biafra leaves Lagos, the population would drastically reduce. Looking forward to that! |

Politics › Re: A Biafra Protest In Abuja Is A Recipe For Chaos by Spicygal: 9:59pm On Nov 30, 2015 |
Yes but to protest in London, IPob requested for and got approval, secondly they did not match the streets of London, they stayed by the sidewalk, they didn't even disturb a singular vehicular movement. The protest did not affect any movt or business, less than 1% of Londoners saw them. Was any approval sought for and gotten for this Abuja protest? Will they confine themselves to a given space? The purpose of a protest should not to inconvenience others, if IPob will protest without disrupting the peace, no wahala. If they distruspt the peace, water cannons should be released on them. If you curse me for my opinion, your children will be cursed. I support Biafra, make una do and go! DerideGull: There was IPOB demonstration in London, UK and the action did not make London part of Biafra. Most Nigerians have intellect of a pig. There must be IPOB protest in Abuja and if such action will lead to the second Nigeria/Biafra war, I say so be it. |

Edos do not want to be part of Biafra. If there will be a Niger delta republic no problem but better still resource control. Go with the igbos? Never. NewYorkCity: Until Edo is included in that map, the Edo groups in delta (i.e Urhobo, Isoko, Itsekiri and Ijaws) will neva ever support biafra. Igbos are already trying to divide the Edo group of tribes. Just experiment by including Edo on the map and see how these tribes support the biafran project. till then keep living in fools paradise. |

Who were those at the forefront of EIE and SNG that got Jonathan recognition when Yaradua was sick? Who were those that helped him to get power? Who were those that protested the hike in fuel pump price during Jonathan and got him to reduce the price? A won didinrin Adminisher: Yorubas invented organised popular dissension in Nigeria. Awo started the war against what was northern domination at that time which no.longer exists in Nigeria. At the time Ibos were in full blown cooperation with the North NCNC/NPC coalition that made Zik President Yorubas fought IBB regime to a standstill after election annullment ...Abacha took over and Yorubas were at the fore front of the fight against him Why do you think Tinubu is reaping so much in political relevance, because he get fine face? Protest that what? Were you born in the early 90s? If you were born, you wouldn't ask such a silly question.
