In a dramatic display of frustration and desperation, hundreds of women from Nimo community in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State stormed the Anambra State Government House in Awka on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, staging a naked protest. The women, baring their bodies in a traditional act of extreme dissent, accused their traditional ruler, Owelle Max Ike Oliobi, of illegally selling communal lands and engaging in various other illegalities that have plunged the community into crisis.

The protest, which drew significant attention, was sparked by long-standing grievances over the alleged unauthorized sale of ancestral farmlands by the Owelle and other community leaders. The women, armed with placards and chanting songs of resistance, demanded immediate intervention from Governor Chukwuma Soludo to address what they described as a blatant abuse of power and a threat to their livelihoods.

One of the protesters, Mrs. Ngozi Okochi, who spoke on behalf of the group, lamented the loss of their farmlands, a primary source of sustenance for Nimo families. “Our ancestral lands are being sold out indiscriminately without our notice. We no longer go to farm because there is no more land to farm. They want to force us into prostitution,” she cried out. “They have declared a sit-at-home in Nimo community because we now wake up every day and stay idle at home without any engagement. Farming is our major source of livelihood, and now they have deprived us of that opportunity.”

The women’s grievances, as outlined in a letter addressed to Governor Soludo and attached to this report, detailed a litany of accusations against Owelle Max Ike Oliobi. They alleged that the traditional ruler, in collusion with the President-General of the Nimo Town Development Union (NTDU), Mr. Ekenenna Okafor-Omabor, and members of the royal cabinet, had been selling off communal lands without the consent of the community. The letter further claimed that these actions had provoked unrest among the youths, whose families depend on the lands for survival, and had escalated tensions since January 2023.

“We are here to register our vulnerable condition before the governor to help us address this problem. We want peace in Nimo community,” Mrs. Okochi added, echoing the sentiments of the protesters who bore placards with inscriptions such as “Soludo, Nimo needs your help, please save us,” “All manner of impunities must stop in Nimo,” and “Igwe Maxi Ike Iliobi is bastardizing Nimo culture and traditions.”

The protesters also accused the traditional ruler of high-handedness, claiming that he had resorted to framing dissenters as kidnappers, cultists, and arsonists in frivolous petitions to silence opposition. They further alleged that vigilante operatives were being used as a “private army” to harass individuals, seize properties, and arrest people on flimsy excuses, with those detained forced to pay for their release.

In a particularly damning accusation, the women pointed to an alleged deal in which the Owelle negotiated with the neighboring Eziowelle community to cede approximately 264 plots of individually owned land without the owners’ knowledge or consent. They described this as a breach of their fundamental rights and a continuation of the illegalities plaguing the community.

The protest took a poignant turn as the women stripped naked—a rare and culturally significant act symbolizing the depth of their anguish and their plea for justice. “We have no other option left but to bare it all before the world and our governor,” one protester, who declined to give her name, told Factreporters.com.ng. “If this is what it takes to get help, then so be it.”

While the women were protesting, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, drove into the Government House premises and addressed them in the company of the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Tony Collins Nwabunwanne. Visibly moved by the demonstration, Prof. Chukwulobelu expressed his dismay at the persistence of the crisis. “I feel bad that this problem persists,” he told the women. He assured them that the state government would take swift action, promising that the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters would immediately inform Governor Soludo about the situation. “We will call the principal actors in this matter to a round table so that a lasting solution will be found,” he added, appealing for calm as the government steps in to mediate.

The women’s group also submitted their petition to the Governor through the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Tony Collins Nwabunwanne, and to the Anambra State House of Assembly through the Chief Whip of the House, flanked by the Clerk of the House. Addressing the press after receiving the petition, Hon. Nwabunwanne acknowledged the protracted nature of the crisis in Nimo, attributing it to the controversial sale of Owa Land. “The issue in Nimo has been protracted, and it stems from the sale of Owa Land,” he stated. He further intimated that he would involve the Commissioner for Lands in the matter to assess the current status of the allegedly sold land and provide clarity on the situation.

The leadership of the Nimo Town Development Union (NTDU) has previously dismissed similar protests as the work of “disgruntled elements” and “hired agitators.” In a statement last year, the NTDU’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Clems Ezedinachi, claimed that the sale of portions of Owa Land—now known as Obodo Oma Estate—had been approved years ago by the Nimo General Assembly and was being managed by a competent committee for the community’s development. The traditional ruler has also denied direct involvement in land sales, asserting that all transactions were transparent and community-driven.

As of the time of this report, neither Owelle Max Ike Oliobi nor the NTDU had issued an official response to the latest protest. The Anambra State Police Command has yet to comment on the allegations of harassment and arrests raised by the women.

The naked protest by the Nimo women underscores the deepening land crisis in the community and raises broader questions about governance, accountability, and the protection of communal rights in Anambra State. As the government deliberates its next steps, the people of Nimo await a resolution that will restore peace and secure their heritage.

In a vibrant display of grassroots political mobilization, the Solution Vanguard—a support group of local government workers and retirees—officially launched in Anambra State, pledging to secure a second term for Governor Chukwuma Soludo. Enugwu Agidi community in Abuja's Dei Dei market yesterday, February 17, 2025, threw a grand welcome for their President General, Hon Ebuka Onuorah (Ijele Umunri). The visit was a testament to Hon Onuorah's commitment to engaging with his people and understanding their needs.

Twenty-five years ago, the Children of the Farmers Club (CFC) presented the AgroTechnoCraft Village Model to the Nigerian government as a solution to Africa's socio-economic problems. The model won the 1999/2000 Commonwealth Africa Regional Youth Service Award, which was received by then-President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Despite promises to implement the model, it remains unadopted. Nigeria was meant to be the flagship country for the model's implementation before its expansion to the rest of Africa.

In an interview with O'star Eze, the founder and president of the CFC, Comrade Christopher Ndubisi Okwuosa, expressed frustration at the government's inaction. Okwuosa explained that the AgroTechnoCraft model promotes agriculture, indigenous technology, and craftsmanship, aiming to create a production-based economy where every individual contributes optimally.

He emphasized that the model would address unemployment, youth restiveness, and crime by providing gainful employment and skills training. Okwuosa called on former President Obasanjo to present the model to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for consideration and implementation.

The CFC is looking forward to sitting with Olusegun Obasanjo and the Federal Government to discuss the details of the model and how it can be implemented in light of present-day realities. This collaborative effort aims to revitalize the model and tailor it to Nigeria's current socio-economic needs.

Who is Honourable Ebuka Onuorah?

A lot of aspersions have been cast against the current duly elected performing President General of Enugwu Agidi Community, Honourable Ebuka Onuorah, since the recent arrest of a kidnap suspect from the community by the Agunechemba Joint Task Force, namely, Chukwudi Tansi.

It has been a clear case of 'if you cannot get the ball target the leg' propaganda style by his detractors who, while confessing that the PG had been making headway in the fight against criminality in the community as well as in other aspects of his administration as PG, still could not stop themselves from attempting to discredit the PG's personality.


For the sake of those who are not prejudiced but are truly interested in deciphering the facts from the fictional tales of propaganda being smeared all over the social media by these detractors, we use this medium to introduce Enugwu Agidi PG as succinctly as possible so that their minds can be disabused from these smear campaigns. They will then see the reality for what it is and not what it seems to be.

Honourable Onuorah came from a humble background and therefore did not have the luxury of furthering his education. He however went for apprenticeship and after he was settled, put in the work and with prayers and because of his tendency to look out for the good of others, built himself a thriving business empire, namely, Daco Group.

Honourable Onuorah is a successful business man, a real estate developer of immense breakthroughs and security agency administrator in his 40s who has blazed the trail in the industry, having executed many private and government owned buildings. He has operated these outfits successfully for over a decade now and has recorded successes. His company, Daco Group which has Davy Luxury Homes Ltd as its subsidiary is a tax paying outfit that has been carrying out its businesses by the book.

It will take an entire book to explore in details the inspiring story of Honourable Onuorah. From youth empowerment, improvement of the security of Enugwu Agidi community in spite of the compromising actions of some of the power brokers of the community who are obviously aiding and abetting criminality in the community, to infrastructural development. The list continues. The truth remains that the man, Honourable Onuorah has been a gift to the people of Enugwu Agidi and beyond. His achievements as PG are legion as many keep wondering if he has stayed 10 years in office. He is a man of great vision who has brought Enugwu Agidi to the international front burner in modern community town union leadership.

He has also explained that it was since the kingpin, Chukwudi Tansi, was released without investigation by the traditional ruler of the community and since the several threats from the same person and his cohorts that he had to resort to paying for security details against his wish.
So, there you have it. The truth is simple, it is only mischievous lies that are woven to be complex in order to confuse the gullible.

Is Igwe Okekeuche of Enugwu-Agidi a serial liar...?
...When a village denies her monarch

It is no longer news that the traditional ruler of Enugwu Agidi recanted the allegation by the President General of Enugwu Agidi that Chukwudi Tansi was never part of the Vigilante Group. The Igwe rather claimed that Tansi was chosen by his village, Anaofia-Etiti, to represent them in the 20 man Vigilante of Enugwu-Agidi.

The news now which has caught everyone unawares is that Anaofia-Etiti Welfare Association, the formal organisation holding together Anaofia-Etiti village has written formally to declare that the said claims by the Igwe through his Chief Press Secretary is a 'false narrative.'

The written rebuttal signed by Ozo Nonso Ifebunso, chairman of the group and its secretary Mr Chinedu Mmuo Ututu, the secretary, read thus;
"This is to inform the general public especially the good people of Enugwu-Agidi that Chukwudi Tansi was never at any given time nominated/appointed a representative of Anaofia-Etiti in the composition of the Enugwu-Agidi vigilante group.

"This notification became necessary following a false narrative by the Chief Press Secretary to Igwe Mike Okekeuche, Ichie Ifeanyi Ndulue on the 4th day of February 2025 that Anaofia-Etiti people "screened and nominated "Chukwudi Tansi" her representative in the twenty man vigilante group for Enugwu-Agidi.

"His appointment/nomination was solely done by Igwe Mike Okekeuche (Okpalariam III) without recourse to the good people of Anaofia-Etiti Enugwu-Agidi."
The question on the minds of every concerned person is this; "Is Igwe Okekeuche of Enugwu-Agidi a serial liar?"

As the controversy rages over the denial of *Igwe Michael Okekeuche (the Okpalariam III)* of *Enugwu Agidi* that he does not have any personal knowledge or link with *Chukwudi Tansi* , an alleged *kidnap kingpin* from *Enugwu Agidi* who he personally nominated as member and designated *Commander of Enugwu Agidi Community Central Vigilante Group*

Recall that several news outlets including *Arise Television* had reported that as at *12:15 am* on *30th January 2025* . troops carried out raid operations based on credible intelligence to a kidnapper’s hideout/armoury location at Enugwu Agidi, Njikoka LGA
One *Mr Chukwudi Tansi* , a member of a suspected kidnapping syndicate was apprehended. Items recovered include : *2 AK 47 rifles, 8 pump action guns,4 foreign made pistols, 3 packets of cartridges (101 cartridges),4 empty magazines of AK 47 rifles. 3 cutlasses, one Baofeng radio, one motorcycle and some charms.*

This was not the first time; the said kidnap suspect would have *brush* with the *law* . He was arrested sometime in *April 2024* based on petition written by the President General of the town dated *April 4, 2014* accusing him of *illegal possession of fire arms, threat to life and sundry criminal activities. It was alleged that the Igwe* with some *members* of his *cabinet* went to the *police* in Abuja to secure his *bail* and also claimed that the *guns* recovered from him were issued to him as the *head of the Palace Guard. The existence of Palace Guards are not known to the Town Union Government.

Upon regaining his freedom, the said *Chukwuma Tansi* became more notorious , more emboldened and continued with his underworld activities which included kidnapping and masterminding attacks on police stations and defrocking killed officers of their rifles.

Despite all the red flags on the suspect, *Igwe Michael Okekeuche* in a letter referenced *HRH/1/MCO/LOV/086/24/6/2024 dated 24/06/2024* nominated the said suspect as a member of Enugwu Central Vigilante Group and recommended him as the *Commander* . This move was flatly rejected by the *President General* who insisted that the *Igwe* is literally handing over the community to *known criminals* . The tension between the *Igwe* and *President General* has persisted since then, leaving the community without organised security group.

In the war of words between the *Igwe* and the *PG* on the current arrest and harvest of *fire arms* from the suspect, and following the *Igwe’s* denial of the suspect, the *PG Honourable David Chukwuebuka Onuorah* had said the *Igwe* was being *economical* with the truth and that his connection with the suspect require deeper *investigation* as according to him the suspect is not a lone wolf. He has internal and external collaborators and powerful protectors.

Daily News Report has reported that the *Igwe* denied knowledge of the suspect whom he now referred to as a *guard* to the *President General* . The *Igwe* in a Press Statement issued through his Palace Secretary *Mr Ifeanyi Ndulue* accused the *PG* of disparaging his name because of their political differences. He said the damage that had been done as a result of the *PGs* allegations against him was unquantifiable.

On his part, *Hon Ebuka Onuorah, the PG* said the *Igwe* must have serious amnesia to be lying carelessly when the *facts* are there and on plain sights. *Amnesia* refers to the loss of memories, including facts, information and experiences.
A report by Facts News Report quoted the *PG* as saying: _“The records of my petition to the Police IGP against the suspect are there. The record of the IGP approval directing for the investigation of the suspect are there. The findings of the police who arrested him in April and detained him in Abuja are there. The circumstances under which he was granted bail by the police and who stood as his surety are all there, including the letter of the Igwe nominating the suspect as a member and head of Enugwu Agidi Central Vigilante are there, likewise his objection of the inclusion of the suspect as a member of Vigilante addressed to the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs are there_ to reconfirm who are the protectors of the suspect and his collaborators.
The records of proceedings with both the Anambra State Commissioner of Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Special Adviser to the Governor on Security and the Transition Chairman Njikoka LGA in 2024 can be subpoenaed.

The PG threatened to sue the *Igwe* and his *palace secretary* for defamation of character if he did not tender retraction of his statement and tender an unreserved apology within 4 days for referring the suspect as being in his employment as a *personal security guard and also being the one that bailed him from the police in Abuja.

Activist raises the alarm over spate of missing people in Anambra, tasks FG to work

A human rights activist, Comrade Osita Obi has cried out over the spate of missing people in Anambra State.

The activist who addressed a press conference in Awka said it is becoming almost normal for people to mysteriously disappear in Anambra with no trace, while life continues as if nothing has happened.

He said besides persons who have fallen victim to kidnappers and who were never found, there have been three prominent individuals in the state, who have remained missing, and nothing was being done to trace them.

He mentioned prominent businessman, Mr Benjamin Ezemma, House of Assembly member, Hon Justice Azuka and candidate of Labour Party in the Anambra 2021 governorship election, Mr Obiora Agbasimalo, all of who went missing at various times, and have not been seen afterwards.

Obi said: "I am more particular about the sudden disappearance of Mr Benjamin Ezemma, who is also the Vice Chairman of Dubai Estate, and also known as Big Ben. He disappeared on November 12 and has not been seen since then.

"We are here to encourage government to find Ben Ezemma. It is Ben today, it may be any one of us tomorrow. We know that government has the capacity to find this man. What is the federal government doing about this?

"We all did SIM registration, NIN registration and others, what is the use of such data which we left with the federal government, can't they use it to find missing people like Ben?

"We are urging police, DSS, NSA and other security to find this man. We are expecting that the authorities would have swung into action, without waiting for people like us to report the incident to them.

"Let these security agencies use the facilities available to them to track down his kidnappers. Even if it entails to monitor the call log of Ben through his service providers, we can use it to know the kind of person Ben was, and what he has been into and who he has been having dealings with."

The activist revealed that some people who are suspected to have had dealings with the missing businessman have been dragged to court. He begged journalists to show interest in the matter and report it to the world, so that it would not be swept under the carpet.

While expressing happiness about the level of commitment the Department of State Services (DSS) in Anambra State has shown in the matter, he condemned the state police command for what he called glaring incompetence.

He said: "I'm not happy with police performance in this matter. Anambra should not be a dumping ground for police officers who are due for retirement, who just come here to make money. If this continues, we may have no option than to protest it."

The recent attempt to defame the character of the PG of Enugwu-Agidi, Hon Ebuka Onuorah, is nothing short of a desperate smear campaign fueled by personal vendettas and power struggles.
While the arrest of Mr. Chukwudi Tansi is a serious matter, the attempt to divert attention from the real issues by attacking the PG is both misleading and irresponsible.
Since assuming office in December 2022, Hon Ebuka Onuorah has worked tirelessly to improve security, governance, and community development in Enugwu-Agidi.

His efforts to restore law and order have made enemies among individuals with vested interests, particularly those who thrive on disorder and lawlessness.

The accusation that he is involved in land grabbing is not only baseless but absurd.
If anything, his administration has actively fought against the illegal sale of communal lands, ensuring that vulnerable citizens, including widows and indigents, are protected.

Mr. Tansi’s past relationship with the PG as a former security guard does not absolve him of responsibility. If he is engaged in criminal activities, he must face the law.
Instead of focusing on the gravity of the situation, some individuals have chosen to fabricate conspiracy theories aimed at tarnishing the image of PG Hon Ebuka Onuorah. Their claims lack evidence and are driven by personal grudges, not facts.

Your accusations against Hon Ebuka Onuorah are nothing more than a calculated effort to discredit his leadership. Claims that he has never held employment, that he lacks educational qualifications, or that he was “imposed” on the community are outright falsehoods designed to manipulate public opinion.
His leadership of Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union (EBU-Nigeria) was a democratic process, and despite resistance from some factions, he remains committed to serving the people. The repeated claims about lawsuits and allegations of violence are unsubstantiated and politically motivated.

Igwe Enugwu Agidi's connection with kidnap suspect should be investigated - PG

Following the recent arrest of an alleged criminal, Mr Chukwudi Tansi, at Enugwu Agidi by the Joint Task Force of Agunechemba on January 30th, the President General of Enugwu Agidi, Hon. Chukwuebuka David Onuorah has raised alarm that there was need for the state government to properly investigate the suspect and his connection with the Traditional Ruler of Enugwu Agidi, Igwe Mike Okekeuche.

Speaking during a recent press conference in Awka Anambra State, the PG revealed that as at April 4, 2024, he had written a petition against the kidnap suspect, Chukwudi Tansi, to the Inspector General of Police, stating categorically that he was a security threat to Enugwu Agidi community and should be investigated. The police approved the petition on April 17th and Chukwudi Tansi was arrested. He was found with 6 unregistered pump action rifles at the time of his arrest and he was taken to Abuja for further investigations.

It was revealed that the monarch of his community, in collaboration with some money bags in the community connived and got Tansi released without proper investigation and prosecution. Hon Onuorah said that the Igwe allegedly claimed that the suspect was one of his palace guards and thereby got him freed.

"This Chukwudi Tansi has been a terror to our community Enugwu Agidi and to myself personally. The Igwe has been using him to threaten my life on several occasions. There was even a time when a certain kidnap victim confessed that he was kept in a kidnappers' den which was operated by this same Chukwudi Tansi.

"It is on record that the reason Enugwu-Agidi is the only community still unable to have an organised local vigilante group was because the Igwe had continued to insist that our local vigilante group can only be organised and instituted when the said Chukwudi Tansi is allowed to be a member and as well made the Chief Security Officer (CSO).

"There was even a time I had to write a petition against a certain list of proposed members of the AVG because I saw the name of Chukwudi Tansi on the list, and to add insult to injury, as the Chief of Security."~ PG Enugwu Agidi

It has been reported that the PG also disclosed that after the Igwe and his cohorts could not succeed in selling the narrative that Chukwudi Tansi was being framed wrongly, especially with the fact that Tansi was caught this time around by Agunechemba Joint Task Force with 2 AK 47s and 4 foreign pistols, as well as the confession of Tansi's wife to her husband's crimes in a trending video, "their recent gimmick was to try to sell the laughable narrative that Tansi was working with, the President General".

Honourable Onuorah therefore implored the state government to ensure thorough investigation on the activities of Chukwudi Tansi as well as his connection with Igwe Okekeuche and ensure that Tansi is not let off the noose again by certain powerful members of his community who are most likely aiding and abetting his criminal activities.

"This man (Chukwudi Tansi) is a menace to the society. He is the reason I go about with security guards and releasing him into the society again would be antithetical to the efforts being made by Mr Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, to ensure peace reigns in the state," he said.
