Good evening everybody. I'm very confused right now. I finished with a third class in Biochemistry. I felt there was no hope anymore so I picked an undergraduate course again. But I was denied visa based on purpose of visit. Someone said I should have picked something higher than undergraduate but there are no schools for third class graduates. Is it that there's no hope for someone that finished with a third class? Please advise me. What do you think I can apply for? @thesoj, @skinnybadguy, @justwise @hayqinsbFX @breadandbeans

Applying for an undergraduate course after a
degree is a red flag already from what I have learnt on this forum. U should apply for post graduate certificate or diploma in a college.
Check out colleges that offer PGD in courses related to ur undergraduate course and mail the admission office.
All will be fine bro

Good to be back here once in a while to read comments. Even though I needed not to go through every comment here since the last time I checked, I still made efforts to sieve through some contributions here. I just felt I might still get some useful info and update on what I already know or more likely to see if there is this one question or questions that were left unanswered that I needed to help with.

I will quickly drop 5 steps to getting your admission and visa approved

1.Needless to say, your first ingredient for success is information. If you don't know how to get informed and stay informed, you won't make much progress trying to land that admissions or visa talkless of being successful when you eventually get into Canada.SO stay on nairaland, match information with information, screen every info cos you won't always get them right here also. For eg. I had sleepless nights during my information gathering stages here on nairaland, I literally read through all the parts. I was looking for something relevant in the midst of several irrelevant discussions. And for those who digress, please try to stay within track for someone like me who probably is doing what I did. I matched all info with what i read on CIC site, argued with close friends, visited some visa agents to know if they truly do anything different. i found out they dont because I ended up giving them some more information that they weren't even aware of;some of which I got from here.

2. Package smartly: I didn't say you should lie but if your truth cannot be substantiated. It is not worth it. Leave it out.Be able to backup whatever you claim. For Eg. I have a friend of mine who graduated with a 2.1 and applied to the same school-University of Waterloo. He quoted he had a masters from unilag but didn't finish at unilag and couldn't get his certificate nor transcript. Even though he submitted his undergrad degree cert and was issued conditional admissions, he didn't get the unconditional admission finally because he couldn't supply the Unilag masters transcript.He lost out on the school because once you submit your application you cannot edit it anymore and it will remain in their file forever or maybe till their system crash..lol..So Apply "What ifs" and make alternatives for improvements.

3. Be consistent: If you want to be a liar, you better make it your truth. Consistency pays, your first application says you were unemployed, the second application says you were employed some months back before the first application. Third application says you will like to get a job after you finish studies in canada and fourth says you will return home to better your country. You can as well enrol on a charity donation to CIC and forget about applying and wasting paper. lol. These guys can put 2 and 2 together and know your purpose of wanting to leave your country.

4. Be original: I see people copy formats and use. The format should only be a guide. You need to touch that creative part of you and bring it to life. You can do a very appealing application. Get the juices, get the seasonings, water the meat, simmer a bit and the taste will be just great!

5. Lastly, give back. Help people answer questions or solve their problems.You achieve 2 things by doing this. You become better at what you do and you affect the life you helped. You open doors for yourself. I have told you how I helped people package their applications for free while I was still about to apply and they got their visas. Some replicated with voluntary money gifts. It feels so great knowing you contributed towards the success of others.

If your answer is yes to the two questions, u can proceeds to apply for you TRV provided all other document are already.

Someone has answered your question, your are ask to choose applied science, that's same as engineering.

You know the answer already. Wrong course chosen. Find a course in line with your qualification or work experience. And write a damn good SOP explaining why the course and how you intend to use the knowledge on your return back to Nigeria.

But I don't know; this one that you were first denied for inconsistency, only to reapply again taking corrections VERY SOON after. Might show that this guy just wants to check out any which ways. You might have a stronger case if you spend one more year in Nigeria making advances in your chosen career path before applying again for further studies in Canada.

A friend in Canada apply on my behalf through their site.only someone who currently reside there can apply for u.its $5 only
It was sent to his mail then he forwarded it to me.

Upfront medical is done before submitting an application and the result attached. Since u have submitted your app, u have to keep praying and expect medical call from CIC. I believe u will get a response this week.cheers

If you have all you document ready , please go ahead an submit, the 3 month is the least time as advised by the embassy to allow handful time for processing. As you can see, someone already had TRV for September.

Please advise me. My sponsor wants to transfer some money into my account but I have just opened this account, is it advisable to print the statement and add to d application. I am asking because the account will only have the money and the statement will only show the money as I just opened d account although I wish to explain this in ma sop so it doesn't look like lodgement of capital.

Let your sponsor states the amount he/she is transferring to you and the purpose in the letter of sponsorship I.e for payment of tuition/
accommodation. I think that will clear the VO mind.
Secondly, are u going for UG or PG?
If UG, I guess u will be fine with the above but if PG, the VO will expect u to have some savings since u are a graduate and possibly u must have been working.
Gurus should add their inputs

The school started classes on the 6th january 2016 and the last day for registration is 12th january 2016.
i need advice weather to defer my program and if i defer can i use the TRV to enter canada when the decision comes out positive

It is obvious that you can't resume b4 12th of jan2016 , which is the last day of registration as stated. Based on this premise, my advice is that u mail the school for deferment. U can always extend you student permit in canny if your program is still running. Wishing success in your TRV app

Happy Sunday. Please what's your opinion about applying for a 2-year advanced post graduate diploma course (Lambton College, Canada) which is related to a just completed MSc University degree . I hope one won't have issues getting a student visa at the embassy...

Your opinions and suggestions are highly welcome.

I believed MSC is higher than post graduate diploma. So why going backward? I guess this will raise a red flag, but u can decide to keep your MSC certificate silent during your visa application

I course will resume by Sept 2016 but I total fee is 14600 which my school told me to make half payment but I made a payment of 10000CAD to balance 4600 during second semester and I still ve 1.8m in my own personal account which I run regularly. My uncle and my sis are willingly to sponsor me with both having close to 50m in there account in total. All I need to knw is Jan not to early since school resumes in sept....pls opinion is needed...ASAP

It is not too early to apply, we have seen people on this forum who got their TRV 4-5month before resumption.

Sponsor and self sponsor which is better , when you are financially buoyant in both.

Sponsor yourself and have a co-sponsor, I mean use both, it increases your chances
