Sports / I Have 5 Champions Leagues And Atletico Have None: Ronaldo Video by spoons: 11:31am On Feb 21, 2019
Cristiano Ronaldo left the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano a little disgruntled. After Juventus 2-0 first leg defeat to Atletico Madrid in their Champions League Round of 16 clash.

During the game the Juventus forward was taunted by a section of the Atleti fans, and responded by showing five fingers to signify the number of Champions League titles he has.

Then in the mixed zone as he left the stadium he reiterated the point while also making a gesture of one hand open – five – before making a zero: “I have five Champions Leagues, and Atletico have none.”

Watch video here: https://warripost.com/i-have-5-champions-leagues-and-atletico-have-none-ronaldo-video/

When also pressed on the likelihood of Atletico Madrid making it to the quarter-final, Ronaldo was elusive, “We will see in the second leg,” he stated.

Sports / Sarri Faces Sack If Chelsea Lose To Man City In The EFL Cup Final-guardian by spoons: 4:47pm On Feb 19, 2019
According to the Guardian, Sarri will be in charge for Chelsea’s Europa League last-32 second leg against Malmo on Thursday.

The Blues lead Malmo 2-1 with two away goals in the tie, but the newspaper warns another defeat to City ‘could lead to his dismissal’.

Chelsea were thrashed 6-0 by Pep Guardiola’s side earlier in February, and their FA Cup exit to Manchester United on Monday was marred by chants demanding ‘Sarri-ball’ to go.

A decision over the former Napoli Coach’s future would be made by owner Roman Abramovich, despite the Russian not attending a single game this season.

Sports / Top 10 Richest Football Club Owners by spoons: 11:52am On Feb 17, 2019
There are five Premier League chiefs in the list of the top 10 richest owners in world football. Here are the top 10 richest owners in world football.

10. Joe Lewis - Tottenham Hotspur - £3.8billion
Despite their inactivity in the transfer market, Spurs certainly do not lack any financial backing.
Owner Joe Lewis, one of the richest men in the UK, financed the reported £800million bill for the construction of Tottenham 's new stadium.

9. Zhan Jindang - Inter Milan - £5.2billion
A chinese billionaire who earned his fortune through Suning.com, one of China's largest appliance retailers and e-commerce companies, Jindang took over Inter Milan in 2016.
His impact resulted in instant on-field success, as Inter improved from a seventh place finish in 2017 to 4th place and a return to the Champions League in 2018.

8. Shahid Khan - Fulham - £5.4billion
After watching his team suffer relegation during the season in which he bought the club, Khan has financed a return to the Premier League this season.
He is not shy at making big decisions either, as he illustrated this season when he replaced manager Slavisa Jokanovic with Claudio Ranieri following a poor start to the season, after spending over £100million on 12 new players in the summer of 2018.

7. Nasser Al-Khelaifi - PSG - £6.2billion
Since becoming club president in 2011 when his Qatar Sports Investment company took control, Al-Khelaifi has helped guide Paris Saint-Germain to dizzy new heights, including five league titles and four Coupe de France crowns in the last six years.
A combined £350million was spent over the last two summers to acquire the services of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, both moves making up the top two most expensive transfers of all time.

6. Stan Kroenke - Arsenal - £6.4billion
Known as 'Silent Stan' throughout the Arsenal faithful, Stan Kroenke has a net worth that doesn't appear to add up with Unai Emery's transfer budget.
Owner of Kroenke Sports and Entertainment, the American also owns NFL outfit the LA Rams, as well as the Gunners, whom he became majority shareholder of in 2011.

5. Roman Abramovich - Chelsea - £8.3billion
Arguably the man who transformed Chelsea from a Premier League side to a European giant, Roman Abramovich took over the West London club in June 2003.
By 2006, Chelsea had won consecutive Premier League titles, two more than they had when Abramovich took over.
In terms of Chelsea fans, Abramovich has proven it is possible to buy happiness.

4. Philip Anschutz - LA Galaxy - £10billion
A recipient of National Soccer Hall of Fame Medal of Honour for his contributions to the growth of football in the United States, Anschutz is owner of MLS side LA Galaxy.
The signings of David Beckham, Steven Gerrard and Zlatan Ibrahimovic outline his ambition for the club, who have won the MLS Cup on five occasions.

3. The Agnelli family - Juventus - £10.4billion
Having owned Serie A side Juventus since 1947, the Agnelli family owning Juventus is reportedly the longest running sporting dynasty in Italy.
Despite their fortune, Juventus have garnered a reputation for smart transfer dealings, signing Andrea Pirlo, Dani Alves and Paul Pogba on free transfers in recent years.

2. Sheikh Mansour - Manchester City - £17billion
Historically the ugly duckling of the two Manchester clubs, Manchester City have gone onto win three Premier League titles this decade and have an annual defence spending greater than 52 countries since the purchase of the club by Mansour in 2008.

City Football Group are also contributing hugely to the surge in popularity of the MLS, founding New York City FC in 2015, who have since signed David Villa, Andrea Pirlo and Frank Lampard.

While Mansour's value is only £17billion, the Mansour family have an estimated worth of close to £1trillion.

1. Dietrich Mateschitz - New York Red Bulls - £17.8billion
Co-founder of the Red Bull energy drink company, Mateschitz is heavily involved in a number of sports, as well as the New York Red Bulls.
Originally the New York Metrostars, Mateschitz bought and rebranded the team, which has gone onto win the Eastern conference five times since his arrival.

Sports / Players Would Prefer Chelsea Over Arsenal Every Day Of The Week by spoons: 9:27am On Feb 15, 2019
Michael Owen and Joe Cole believe Chelsea are a far more appealing proposition for potential signings than Arsenal – despite the Blues’ recent struggles.

Maurizio Sarri’s side responded to Sunday’s 6-0 mauling at the hands of Manchester City by defeating Malmo 2-1 in the first leg of their Europa Leg last-32 tie.

Arsenal meanwhile fell to a shock 1-0 defeat to minnows BATE Borisov of Belarus.

For BT Sport pundits Michael Owen and Joe Cole, while the Blues have been under the spotlight of late, it is the west London club that still has more to offer, both in terms of squad strength and the potential for success.

Owen said: ‘Chelsea and Arsenal are virtually mirror image.

‘They’re on the same points in the Premier League, on the same goal difference in the Premier League, and in the same round of the Europa League. It’s pretty much a level playing field, but which team would you prefer to play for?

‘Which team do you look at and go, wow what player, good team? Everyone says Chelsea are under a big cloud, but I’d prefer Chelsea every day of the week over Arsenal.’

Cole added: ‘Because the expectation is that they (Chelsea) have always got to be there (competing for titles), which Chelsea have been for the last 20 years, it becomes a crisis quicker than it does at Arsenal.

‘With Arsenal, they’re probably not going to win anything, they’re in a ten year transitional period. Chelsea demand to win things.

‘If you’re a player, you’d much rather move to Chelsea than Arsenal, there’s a better quality of player there and you’ve got more chance of winning things.’

Chelsea’s win in Sweden was their first on the road since late December.

Heavy defeats to City and Bournemouth in recent weeks have raised questions about the future of Blues boss Sarri.

Chelsea’s players held team meetings at training this week and issued a rallying cry to galvanise their seemingly ailing season.

But Sarri needed a response from his players against Malmo and for former Blues player Cole, he got one.

Cole said: ‘The response was excellent, I think Sarri’s put his marker down, ‘I’m going this way, we’re sticking with my philosophy’ and the lads bought into it.

‘I don’t think there’s much difference between the Chelsea we saw tonight and the Chelsea of the first two months of the season. Maybe they ran into a very good Bournemouth team and a Manchester City team on immense form, so it inflates things.

‘It was a massive result for Sarri. If the lads continue with that kind of intensity then the results could flow, they’ve got a cup final to look forward to in a few weeks, the picture could be very different come the end of the month.’

Politics / Greed In Our Nation by spoons: 8:14am On Feb 14, 2019
“If particles of some life coal fall on me and my son simultaneously, I will first of all dust off the live coal particle on me, before dusting off that of my son”, so said an old man.

The words of our ancestors are imbued with wisdom. But these days, the evolutions of time and events don’t always smile on all the wisdom of the past otherwise there will be no progress.

Even Aristotle, who was tutored and somehow inspired by Plato, once questioned some aspect of Plato’s doctrine to go a step further.

Our ancestor based their observation on the tendency of man to respond to impulse to establish this proverb. But impulse should rule lower animals, not man. Man is endowed with reason to overshadow impulse. To advance spiritually, and morally of course, we don’t have to respond to impulse, but reason.

Spiritually you could be classified as a lower animal, we respond to impulse rather than reason.

Do you know why our economy suffers? And why everybody complains, despite the fact the modern gold and oil run for us. Most of us think of nothing than how to feather our nests at the expense of the nation and the people.

Of course this has blurred our reason. That was why the legislator thought that he must twist the law so that he could conveniently plunder the nation’s purse even if that would mean retrenching some workers.

Now, because of their selfishness, and unpatriotism in addition, the state of the nation’s economy was ebbing to zero.

Everybody complains, everybody seems to hate the way things work in our society, but nobody seems to think positive change necessary.

The lack of harmony we experience is only the material repercussion of being self-centred.

If we were to realise the spiritual effect of being self-centred we would lament the more. Our bane is selfishness! Why not put interests of others first?

Whatever position we occupy, private or public, you occupy the sole interest of others. Every person consciously or unconsciously expects you to measure up to expectation.

How dangerous would it be if one holding a position of trust and importance would fall below expectation? Nothing destroys a society like selfishness, particularly when it is prevalent in a society.

At present you may be enjoying the fruit of selfishness, but in the long run, when the accumulated force of your selfishness pulls the society to crumble, you will regret, probably in the grave.

But think what force would you be when you discharge your duty unselfishly? What would be the spirit of a society, where every Tunde, every Musa or every Emeka would put the interest of others first, when discharging his duty?

Many people see themselves as separate individuals or entities. Nothing fundamentally destroys peace among men like this misconception. This ignorant conception corrodes the mind just like acid corrodes a ferrous metal. This wrong, but popular notion is the mother of selfishness in man.

In the totality of things mankind is never divided. A sublime sense of belonging will take possession of your deeds and words, when you truly and strongly feel you are never separated, that you are part and parcel of the society in which you belong. Always think in terms of all and always act in terms of all.

Feel that the very society in which you are a member is like a person, with all member of the society as a cell that build up the body, and you are that person or, in a lesser degree, that you are essential part of the imagine person- the society.

You don’t know how great you are created to be in the scheme of things, until you liberate yourself from the shackles of selfishness.

A nation can only become great, when her citizens eschew selfishness and work for the benefit of all.

Religion / Jealousy Can Ruin You by spoons: 12:58pm On Feb 03, 2019
No man who is superior in any particular escapes envy. People think in terms of comparison. If he has a better garden, he is envied by neighbours; if he gains promotion, he is envied by workmates; if he copes with events so as to live happily, he is envied by failures. Envy is the one revenge of mediocrity.

The range of envy has been greatly extended by the instability of social status and the equalitarian doctrines of democracy. The ancient lines of separation have been erased, so that the envious man begins by asking “why should not I enjoy what others enjoy?” and goes on to demand “why should others enjoy what I have not?” instead of deriving pleasure from what he has, he is pained by what others have.

A classic example comes to us from ancient Greece. In 1932 an archaeologist unearthed tablets of 2,400 years ago voting ostracism for a man called Aristides. He was banished from Athens without fault being charged against him, but merely because people hated him for being better than themselves. The story is told that Aristides was walking towards a voting place when he was accosted by an illiterate voter who asked him to mark his tablet in favour of banishment. When Aristides asked: “what have you against Aristides? What has he done wrong?” the voter replied: Nothing, but I’m tired of hearing him called ‘the just’.”

Indeed, as the proverb says: “Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous, but who is able to stand before jealousy?” Probably the only way is to walk along serenely with Aristides, leaving the envious to stew in their own juice.

Gossip drives people to distraction and causes more hard feelings in a community than does any other vice. The gossipy person hits at everyone and everything that is not his taste. His own merits he believes to be great and obvious, but with regard to others he lives in a strange twilight land of half-truths and perverted truth. He misrepresents zeal as impatience and bossiness, temperance and discipline as harshness, justice as cruelty, and religious faith other than his own as superstition.

A husband and wife may start discussing their family budget, swing over to arguing about the rent a neighbour pays for his flat, and end up in a flaming row over something that is totally irrelevant.

In no other area than that of small things is it so true that we behave at times in ways too foolish for a tear and too wicked for a smile. We dispute tediously about the abstract truth of unimportant things, and we cling tightly to positions we have taken regarding trifles. The cure, of course, is to listen, think, be moderate, given the authority for our beliefs, open the door so that the person with whom we are talking may come to our side of the house, and drop the matter.

The things that we get peevish about fall into two classes: those we can do something about and those we cannot help.

Herein we might take a lesson from a swordsman: when he cannot parry a thrust he takes it on his shield. Or from the eastern philosopher who, when kicked by a mule, overlooked the insult on considering its source.

Clara Barton, founder of American Red Cross, was of that sort. When a friend reminded her of a particularly cruel thing done to her years before and asked: “Don’t you remember it?” Miss Barton replied: “NO, I distinctly remember forgetting that.”

Prejudice is made up of misunderstanding and has no trouble in causing it. Voltaire called prejudice “the reason of fools.” It is a cherished belief based on hearsay or tradition which blocks free inquiry. It is, in the words of H.L. Mencken, made up of “the idiotic certainties of ignorant men.”

Prejudice means judgement. When you encounter a person who has his mind made up before learning the facts necessary to an intelligent conclusion you have run into what has been called “the law of prior entry.”

Health / Your Skin Tells It All by spoons: 11:45am On Jan 02, 2019
To the doctor, your skin is like the morning paper. And just as your scour the paper for local news, so the doctor looks over your skin to gauge your health.

Your tongue tells the doctor a lot, but the state of your skin tells him a lot more. Your skin isn’t just a flexible bag holding you in. It’s the most complex and useful insulted container that’s ever been devised. Man has no other material to duplicate its purpose.

Depending on your job or race, your skin is just less than a quarter of an inch thick, unless you bring eyelids into it which are around a thirty second of an inch thick.

Circus Act

The skin is the largest of the body organs. Its extraordinary functions, i.e. getting rid of your perspiration and surface dirt, and controlling heat and cold make it just as important as the heart.

There’s true story told of a circus act where for a sensation, the leading artiste immerse herself in gold paint. Because her skin couldn’t perform its normal function of breathing and regulating the body, she died within few minutes.

Interfere with the workings of your skin, and the result are invariably fatal. But treat your skin well, and it will do the same to you.

Not only those it protect you from germs and viruses but by its fine network of blood vessels and your temperature normal both in desert heat and arctic cold.

Complaints

The skin itself though is subject to lengthy list of complaints ranging from boils, pimples, warts and ringworm to athlete’s foot and eczema. Dermatologists are skilled in recognising various abnormalities that trigger off superficial or more complaints.

Badness of the may be due to fever and irritation. Redness of the palm of the hands, and little spider like lesions all over the body suggest a liver that isn’t working properly. Liver trouble also makes the skin hypersensitive to light because of a shortage of nicotinic acid.

Nervous Disorders

But it is generally recognised that various forms of nervous disorders set off the majority of skin complaints. Many medical authorities say that some simple forms of dermatitis are just safety valves for human nervous system.

“Neurodermatitis”, as it’s called, comes about with the stress of modern day living, job dissatisfaction, and everyday worries.

It has been said that it’ best for the nervous symptoms to work themselves out on the skin rather than on the digestive system or on the inner organs of your body where they may produce more harm or ever serious damage.

Nervous disorders may reflect themselves in itching and sometimes the skin on an arm or leg may ripple regularly like a wave – a true sign that there’s a nervous disorder present.

But to a dermatologist, itching may be the first sign of diabetes, or one of the early symptoms of a condition related to kidney disease. Itching may also be sign that the kidney or liver are not doing their job eliminating waste properly.

Changes in colour

Hard rounded areas, or plaques, as they are called may confirm diabetes, and if they are present on the eyelids they may indicate the presence of a disease that can impair the proper working of the main blood vessels and the coronary arteries.

Changes in your skin’s colour are often indications of glanular disorder. The appearance of large brownish sports – not moles -on normal white skin, may indicative of a condition called “addison’s disease.

But let this condition not be confused with changes in an established mole. Any changes in a mole, whether it be on the face, arm or leg, should be shown to a doctor straightaway. For it may indicate skin cancer called “melanoma”, which spreads rapidly.

Lumps

Little lumps or nodules in the skin may be an early sign of internal cancer, for as it spreads it sends little feelers or nodules to the surface. An early sample from such a growth as soon as it’s noticed will frequently tell the doctor where trouble spot is, for the tiny lump produces cells of a particular type of growth.
This does not mean you should go rushing off to the surgery with every little pimple or wart you get, but just be on guard against obstinate lumps that refuse to shift. In most cases, they are nothing at all to worry about, but it’s just as well to be on the safe side.

But if you have a healthy skin, then it should be firm, elastic, and a normal colour, depending on your race. The sebaceous glands keep your skin supple. Your skin temperature is about consistent with room temperature, roughly six and a half degrees less than your body temperature.

To treat your skin well, keep it clean with ordinary soap and water. This will hinder infection.

But should your skin signs of sickness, Let the doctor read it for you and you may be prevented from suffering.

Education / Federal Government College Warri: Safety And Welfare Concern by spoons: 10:52am On Nov 21, 2018
Attention, we are worried about the safety and welfare of our children, and as a school, the principal must take all necessary steps to keep children healthy, safe and secure.

The reason why we value education, it gives us a knowledge of the world around us and changes it into something better. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps us build opinions and have points of view on things in life, but Mr Alleh the Principal of Government College Warri, does care about what is happening within the school environment rather than money.
This call for a report on safeguarding concern, our children are no longer safe, if the Principal of Federal government college Warri Mr Alleh is not promoting good health.

Due to bad water facilities/condition within the school environment, some of our children are left with red spots on various parts of their body, some irritation, while some intense itching. How can children be safe, if there is no regard for safeguarding duties.
This is the highest act of negligence on the part of the school principal for not safeguarding the children, for not promoting good health and for not maintaining policies and procedures.

Managing behavior of the school principal Mr Alleh is very poor, the school facilities are deteriorating, the standard of the school is a write off, he is even worse than his predecessor Mr Fabiyi, there has been no schedule for parent teachers’ association (PTA) meeting, what he prioritizes most is Money, but he has never used it for the welfare of the school student properly.

Providing portable water and enabling environment for safety and the wellbeing of the school children is important to us and the society. Health is wealth, but healthcare is maintenance or improvement of health via prevention.

I’m calling on Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli I, Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, Federal Government, Delta State Ministry of Education, Education monitoring team and the commissioner of Education Mr Chiedu Ebie, to avert this health harms before it gets worst. Therefore, the only way prevent our children from contacting different types of ailments and diseases is to by addressing public health issue relating bad water facilities/condition within the school environment, and also sack Mr Alleh since he does care about the welfare of the student.

Finally, a pro PDP handle made a honest assessment of the debate. The wailer who opened the earlier thread about people's reactions to the debate simply uploaded pro PDP reactions. Knowing Deji's antecedent, I want to believe this is a more accurate assessment. I didn't watch so I can't assess.

Who no go no know!

Festus Keyamo @fkeyamo is very good and ruthless. The APC & Buhari were smart to pick him. The Atiku campaign must pick someone stronger & better.
