You have conformed your thought to see them as excuses when there is an argument for Gyokores and you are not going to see it otherwise. Neither will you admit Arteta needs to be better in managing this situation.

You can't play a professional player a paltry 84 minutes in 7 games and then ask him to go do magic in the UCL as a starter, it doesn't work that way. Gyokores and Havertz have both played 3 games in the UCL with the former having 50 minutes more, both have 1 assist but you can't compare the disparity to what is going on in the EPL.

How is he supposed to even build any kind of chemistry with his team mates, lets not talk about tactics sef? Havertz has been poor and the argument about all round play has fallen flat, yet we can't give Gyokores 40% of the type of support Havertz has received.

Havertz has played 7 games this season and has just 2 goal with 0 assists! Yet, you guys speak like he is on 5-7 goals. If 2 goals isn't poor enough for you to be fair with his competition then I don't know what is..

It's the same way I was defending Havertz last season when he was injured and you thought Gyokeres 14 PL goals makes him a legend.

Gyokeres played 90 mins against Ipswich where we scored 4 goals and he didn't contribute as much as shot talkless of goals.

Havertz 2 PL goals is poor but Gyokeres no goals in all competitions is Arteta's fault.

Gyokores- 84 minutes

After 7 games, Gyokores has not even played an equivalent of 1 full EPL game (90 minutes), while Havertz has played 483 minutes more!

I mean, this doesn't need much na! Where is the sharing here?

Off course Havertz will get more time than Gyokeres because he has performed better.
But then you're focusing on just the PL.

In the CL Gyokeres started two games. He has more minutes there, what has he done?


Why are we quick to make excuses for him?

This isn't any different from when Arteta forced Havertz down our throat after he moved him from the midfield where he failed, to attack. Arteta played him everywhere in the middle and he flopped before going forward.

This same Arteta preached patience with Havertz and asked for the fans to show him more love and stop with the booing and criticism, culminating in Arteta showing him to the fans after the Brentford game in 2023, do you remember?

Why can't he show 40% of that same patience, dedication and continued work with Gyokores? The favoritism is obvious, especially when Havertz isn't performing despite the amount of minutes he has enjoyed. Yesterday, an analyst on CBS said, Gyokores had a good game yesterday, provided an assist but somehow nobody, including the coach talked about it, rather it was about Havertz but if he was poor, it would be the loudest.

I said it last week, Arteta will continue to start Havertz, so he can get that extension. Before Saka's extension this year, Havertz was our highest earner for 3 years. I mean, my head coach is still talking about "ability" for Havertz by this time?

Gyokores should move on in January because it is pointless at this point. By no means am I saying he doesn't have his own issue but to exclude Arteta from it? Naaaaa.

It's clear that Havertz and Gyokeres share the minutes. It's even easier to make some impact if you're coming from the bench. Where is the favouritism?

Gyokeres will get up to 45mins in our next match. The question is what will he do with it? What has he done with the 40mins he gets per match to deserve to start?


We can keep lamenting about why he should start but we haven't given any tangible reasons.

If he comes from the bench and consistently scores or makes an assist then we have a point. But as it stands now, Havertz has more G/A than him.

The last Champions league game vs Lille, Gyokeres started the game and didn't do anything till Havertz came on in the second half, got an assist and we went on to win the game. Gyokeres also started the game vs Napoli and didn't do much to help us win.

I was expecting Gyokeres will start yesterday like most fans, but I guess Arteta thought why start Gyokeres who hasn't justified his inclusion in the last 2 champions league matches? Areta started Havertz and that one sef chose yesterday to drop a stinker performance till Gyokeres came on to provide Rice's assist.

Both Gyokeres and Havertz are not consistent upfront and that's where the issue lies. I guess the only reason Arteta starts Havertz most times is because when he plays, he kinda makes our frontline fluid when compared to Gyokeres. But the crux of the matter is both players are inconsistent when it comes to their primary duty of being in that CF role to convert chances.

Your last line is where you get it wrong.

Havertz's primary role is to create and not to convert chances. He is a false 9. Just as we saw Kane yesterday, he played as a false 9 and he didn't score a hatrick.

Gyokeres on the other hand plays as a traditional 9. It's his role to score goals.

The reason Arteta prefers Havertz is not because he is more likely to score but because he adds more to the overall performance of the team.
