..........................Szceszny........................... Bellerin.... Gabriel.... Kosh.... Gibbs .......................... Flamini............................. ............ Rosicsky............ Ozil.................... Walcot........... Giroud............ Welbeck
Subs: Ospina, Monreal, Chambers, Coquelin, Cazorla, Akpom . 8/11. Bellerin no even see bench, Arsene pairs Cazorla and Ozil in midfield, Alexis joins Welbeck and Giroud in attack- too much fire power for Boro, I hope say Wenger dey think about UCL? |

debosky: Keep the team fit?
That would be the start IMO - you can't keep racking up injuries like we do and have any chance. There's a limited number of players you can have (and Wenger isn't a big fan of rotating) hence keeping your best guys fit is the best option. Add to that a DM, bring back Jenks from loan and the magic ingredient called consistency and let's see how far we go. Absolutely, couldnt think of a better suggestion. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 2:54pm On Feb 14, 2015 |
debosky: Bellerin has been OK, but not much more than that. I think the Spurs game showed how vulnerable we are on the right if the opposition targets that wing.
Both goals came due to mistakes on the right - first goal because no one picked Harry Kane as he drifted to the far post after the corner, the second from poor closing down of Bentaleb allowing him all the time in the world to pick his cross for Harry Kane.
Not that I'm solely blaming Bellerin for the goals, but it does show that we can be exposed in that area so there is definitely room for improvement. For him to get the nod ahead of Chambers meant great improvement. He is no Sagna, but even Sagna could have made those errors on a bad day. Sometimes errors may be forced due to how the team is shaped, like against Spurs, Welbeck failed to track back to aid Bellerin faced with a rampaging duo of Rose and Erikson. Question: What can Arsene do to this present crop to ensure we win the title next season? Your thoughts. |

Why I think Arsenal will beat Spurs and go on to finish in 3rd place ahead of Man Utd this season.
Arsenal's recent form which includes a 2-0 win on the road over defending champions, Man City, and a 5-0 trashing of Aston Villa, could be attributed to the mesmerising forms of Cazorla and new signing Sanchez, and the return of hungrier Ozil and Walcot. But most importantly, it is the addition of COQUELIN, who is enjoying the form of his life. Le Coq is the oil that lubricates the Arsenal engine, he forms an impregnable shield that allows the full backs to maraud, and the attacking midfielders space to be creative without watching their backs. He goes for strong tackles without incurring the referee's wrath (as much). He is quick and reads the game intelligently. Arsene's plea for an anchor man is over. He may not be a Man of the Match kind of player, but he is a Man of the Team player. With the Gunners yet to face Chelsea at home and Man Utd away, this is the best time to be an Arsenal fan. |

pickabeau1: ok
You said the same about wilshere in 2011
Na today
Every flash in the pan is hailed as lightening gold I wonder how you study players and their technique. Is Wilshere that bad? His style of play brings a special dimension to a team. Wilshere is a player that can collect the ball from defence and drive it into attack just like Pirlo. As far as I am concerned he is above average, he is not there yet but is coming. When I see a player progressing into a star I know, only few people in the world (like Arsene) have such ability. Mou sold off Schurrle for Cuadrado, for me thats absolute lack of faith. Hope he wont regret it. |

It's so refreshing seeing everyone hit top form in Jan/Feb, as this might propel us towards a winning run.
Bellerin & Ozil MOTM for me!! I had first mentioned him, about how Wenger builds players, but Pickabeau, Pazienza and Roland attacked calling him Oliver de Coque, only Debosky supported me. Our recent performance is not because of Sanchez, its because of Coquelin. Now AW isnt buying any DM, ... HE HAS GROOMED ONE! Thats how you know a good coach. |

Analysis: I think AW will keep Szczesny remaining on the bench; Chambers will start at RB since Bellerin is out; Coquelin may fancy another run-in to continue his good form; rests for Cazorla and Schemer; I am tempted to say Akpom will start but feel AW may want him to come from the bench. |

Roland17: I maintain my stance on Oliver de Coque, please don't contrue me in a selfish attempt to confuse others to score cheap points, I never said Coquelin lacked the talent or prospect or has not improved greatly but that he is definitely not the solution to the DM position, which is at variance from your post which said who needs a DM signing in Arsenal when Coqelin is there.. even Wenger alluded to this during the post match interview “Sometimes, when you have to find solutions internally it’s a blessing. At the moment, it’s working well.”
The difference with this Sunday's performance is TEAM DISCIPLINE with possession and positioning, every player on that field bought into it, Coquelin had a spectacular game no question but is he the solution to that position, am sorry no..
And Biko show me where I insulted Wenger abeg, if you can not, I demand an unreserved apology for a very misleading post.. kindly accept my apology, brother. |

IZUKWU: you put cazorla on the bench A tough one for any manager to choose between Ozil and Cazorla, Ramsey and Rosicsky, Walcot and Chamberlain. I went for the formers. For those Arsene Whiners, let me advice you once again: Arsene has just signed a new contract till 2017, so you have 3years to whine. About buying players, we have a tradition. Full stop! Those who spend are under UEFA sanctions, they are cheats. With time, with our new stadium, with Arsene, we would make enough money to start spending without incurring any sanctions. After that we go invincible again. So all ArseneWhiners keep quiet or get off our Emirate. ONE ARSENAL- ONE INVINCIBLE |

Chelsea City United Arsenal I dont think Man Utd will finish above us. They have seen their best, we haven't because Ozil and Walcot just came back. During the run in we would overtake them. In fact I fear Southampton may take fourth. I also don't think Chelsea will win the league. Mou has been using the same first team- fatigue + injuries are waiting for him. |
