Career14 Army Infantry Generals Pulled Out Of Active Service by Spyetv(op): 3:16pm On May 13, 2022
Agency Report,

The Nigeria Army on Friday pulled out 14 Infantry generals from active service in a colourful ceremony in Kaduna.

The retired officers who were pulled out in a parade at the Jaji Military Cantonment, Kaduna, consisted eight Maj-Generals and six Brigadier-Generals.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the pulling out parade was in line of activities marking the end of the seven-day Combat Arms Training Week.

Combat arms are the Infantry and Armour Corps of the Nigerian Army which are specially and directly involved in battle.

Speaking on behalf of the pulled out Generals, retired Maj.-Gen. Ahmad Muhammad said the pulling out parade was a recognition of their positive contribution to the Infantry Corps when they were in active service.

Muhammad, a former Commander of the Infantry Corps, added that the honour of pulling them out was also borne out of their positive contributions to the nation while serving at respective commands in the Nigerian Army.

“Pulling us out in such colourful event is a way of giving us back what we have given to the system.

“The strategic intent is to encourage those coming behind us to work hard, diligently,” he said.

Muhammad noted that as retired officers, they would continue to respond to calls towards contributing positively to the development of the Infantry Corps and the Nigerian Army at large.

“Based on our exit dates from active service, we can contribute at different levels of response; based on our exit dates, we can only contribute at strategic levels.

“We will be advising the government on the position they take, we can only add value by contributing and suggesting better ways of doing things,” he said.

He said they would miss the discipline and ‘Esprit de Corps’ (Spirit of oneness) in the Nigerian Army.

“We have a structured order in the military; everything is streamlined.

“Before you go to sleep, you arrange your uniform and when you wake up, the first thing is the three ‘S’ which is Shower, Shave and `Shit’.

“There are no interruptions; the military is structured in orderliness, Esprit de Corps and loyalty which cannot be found anywhere.

CrimeIpob/esn's Killing Of Army Couple Depicts Brazen Act Of Terrorism On Ndigbos by Spyetv(op): 5:17pm On May 03, 2022
IPOB/ESN's Killing of Army Couple Clearly Depicts Callousness,Brazen Act of Terrorism on Ndigbos - Army

The Nigerian Army has said the gruesome, barbaric murder of two soldiers, Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Audu M Linus (retired) and Private(Pte) Gloria Matthew, who were on transit to Imo state for their traditional wedding clearly depicts callousness, impenitence and indisputably brazen act of terrorism perpetrated by IPOB/ESN on even their own child and Ndigbos.

In a statement by Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu said this dastardly act, one too many, clearly portends the deep seated hate, desperation and lawlessness with which foot soldiers of IPOB/ESN have being unleashing terror on Ndigbo, whom they claim they are on a mission to protect and emancipate, as well as other innocent Nigerians who are resident or transiting the South East.

"Ironically, the fact that one of the soldiers,  Pte Gloria Matthew who hails from Nkwerre LGA of Imo state, has an ethnic affiliation with the good people of South East Nigeria did not prevail on the sensibility of the dissidents.

"Though the dissident groups have continued to live in denial, while masquerading as unknown gunmen in their criminal violent campaign in the region, the Nigerian Army will ensure the perpetrators of this dastardly act unleashed on its personnel do not go unpunished.

"While we deeply condole with the families, relations and close associates of the victims, the Nigerian Army has commenced investigation to unmask and bring the criminals to book", he stated.

He added this dastardly act unleashed on its personnel will not go unpunished and will face Swift Justice.

Reports say, the couple on Saturday 30 April 2022 had embarked on the trip to fulfill the traditional rites of  conjugating their matrimony, as the very well respected and cherished Igbo tradition demands.

Nigerian Army therefore enjoined members of the public to oblige security agencies actionable information that will lead to the arrest of these criminals.

"It is also crucial to emphasize that following troops' successful exploits in unravelling and unmasking IPOB elements who have been masquerading as unknown gunmen and wreaking carnage against Ndigbo in South East Nigeria, IPOB/ ESN have severally attempted to use doctored graphic images, video footages and spurious narratives in online and social media campaigns to disparage the Nigerian Army and bring her to disrepute.

A statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government wishes to debunk the report by the Punch Newspaper detailing that the NAF fighter jet killed six children, stressing that he4 has never granted an interview to the Punch Newspaper or any media organization on the matter.

PoliticsMakinde Lauds Military, Donates N500 Million For 58-hectares NAF Base In Ibadan by Spyetv(op): 6:00pm On Apr 04, 2022
By Olayemi Esan

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi M9akinde has lauded the Nigerian Air Force especially the entire Armed Forces of Nigeria for their, sacrifices and efforts at checkmating all forms of criminality in the Country.

The Governor spoke at the Agodi Gove99rnment House Ibadan when the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao paid him a courtesy call and at the 58-hectares cleared site for the ground-breaking ceremony for the permanent site of the new Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base, Ibadan.

Director of Public Relations and Information  Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet in a statement said, Governor Makinde while receiving the Chief of Air Staff at the Government House Agodi stated that, “I will always say that our security agencies often perform a thankless job. No one remembers them when there is peace, but people begin to ask what they were doing once there is a breach. So let me say thank you”.

At the groundbreaking ceremony of the new 58-hectares NAF Base, situated at Ajia Community, Ibadan presided by Governor Makinde and Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, the Governor said the new NAF Base was part of his overall vision to engineer a modern Oyo State, just as he appealed to the good people of Ajia community to be accommodating hosts and support the State’s plans to bring rapid development to the area.

Makinde stressed that the mammoth crowed that the new NAF Base was not just an infrastructural project, but part of a plan for a robust security architecture for Oyo State and as more businesses move to the State, the need to properly secure the State becomes imperative.

"When completed, this new Base will improve the operational reach of the NAF in Oyo State and enhance crisis response time. Oyo State will also have the bragging rights of hosting the permanent site of one of Nigeria’s Air Force Bases”, he said.

To demonstrate his commitment to the actualization of the project, Governor Makinde donated the sum of N500 million to kick-start the construction of the Base just as he commended Air Marshal Oladayo Amao for his laudable achievements since assuming office, while assuring him of his administration’s commitment to partnering with the NAF for a better civil-military relationship and improved security in Oyo State.

In his remarks, Air Marshal Amao traced the history of NAF’s presence in Oyo State with the establishment of the 671 NAF Detachment Ibadan in March 1992 to provide operational support services to NAF aircraft operating in the South-West Region as well as contribute to the Internal Security architecture of Oyo State, amongst other functions.

He went on to note that the Detachment had been without a permanent site and personnel of the unit have had to grapple with the challenge of residing in dispersed locations within Ibadan, which posed some operational and administrative constraints and the readiness and responsiveness of the unit to security challenges in the State. According to the CAS, it was thus heart-warming that the Oyo State Government found it expedient to provide the NAF with the 58-hectares expanse of land to serve as permanent site for the construction of structures for the NAF Base, Ibadan.

He also stated that the landmark initiative will provide a befitting environment for the Unit to better perform its security mandate within the State bearing in mind that security is a veritable catalyst for development and there can be no development without security.

“With the establishment of this new Base in Ibadan, the NAF would be able to extend her operational reach to enhance Internal Security operations in the South-West Region.  Currently, the high density of air traffic operating on daily basis from Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja inhibits military conduct of air operations in the Region. This new Base will therefore serve as a suitable alternate to Lagos airfield for the Nigerian Air Force to launch air operations in the Region seamlessly and more efficiently”, he said.

Air Marshal Amao also thanked Governor Makinde for generously donating to the development of the new Base and assured him of NAF’s readiness to partner with him and other states towards securing their citizenry. The event witnessed a large turnout that included members of the National Assembly, members of the Oyo State Executive Council, serving and retired senior military officers as well as traditional rulers.
