Even as an IG, once the will to see it through is lacking from onset due to returns and kickbacks, it will never work. However, the President in this case sounded it loud and clear even as the NASS tried bending it to its own favour, yet the President did not budge. |
They should encourage him to speak up and not threaten his arrest on the guise of calling Police. Are they scared he knows something and want to rat out? |
We Got Golden Handshakes, Not Homes’: Ex-Super Falcons Star Slams Past Governments, NFF! Former Super Falcons striker, one-time top scorer and the youngest Nigerian player to score at the world cup at the age of 18 years and 10 months, Patience Avre Odeli, has accused successive Nigerian governments and officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) of shortchanging her generation of players who helped establish Nigeria's dominance in African women's football, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Speaking from her base in the United States, Avre expressed frustration over the treatment meted out to her contemporaries, many of whom, she claimed, are now living in difficult economic conditions despite their sacrifices for the country. The former forward—who played for Ufuoma Babes FC of Warri and Princess Jegede Queens FC of Lagos—was part of the pioneering Super Falcons team that won the African Women’s Championship (now WAFCON) four times and featured in four FIFA Women’s World Cups. She also played a pivotal role in the historic squad that reached the quarterfinals of the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup. "My generation was repeatedly shortchanged by past government regimes and NFF officials," Odeli stated. "We received meagre bonuses and unfulfilled promises during major tournaments like the African Women Championship, the Olympics, and the World Cup." She alleged that during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration, commitments made to the players were never honored. Avre specifically called out former NFF President Amaju Pinnick, accusing him of soliciting account details from players with no subsequent payments made. "In addition to unpaid bonuses, officials and coaches hoarded items meant for players," she added. "It was common to see NFF officials and coaches wearing the national team jerseys bearing the names of players like myself, Prisca Emeafu, Martha Tarhemba, Kikelomo Ajayi, and Florence Omagbemi—while we had nothing to show for our dedication to Nigeria." Despite her grievances, Avre praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his recent generous rewards to the current Super Falcons squad following their WAFCON 2025 triumph in Morocco. The team received cash gifts, housing, and national honors in recognition of their achievement. “I commend the current players for continuing our legacy and thank President Tinubu for this new dawn,” she said. “None of us ever received such largesse—no apartments, no national awards, not even a million Naira. We were given golden handshakes, golden cards, and at best, N300,000. Promised land allocations never materialized.” Odeli concluded by urging the current administration to acknowledge and compensate past players who laid the foundation for Nigeria’s successes in women’s football. “We were the trailblazers, but many of my teammates are now struggling. I served Nigeria for 13 years and we deserve better. It’s time to correct the injustice,” she said.

Frila:Methinks they will back down in the coming days. Iran is having defeats starring it in her eyes. But if they don't, even North Korea cannot rescue them. |
The Israeli prime minister has released a video on X praising Trump’s decision to attack Iran, stating that it will “change history”. “Congratulations, President Trump. Your bold decision to target Iran’s nuclear facilities with the awesome and righteous might of the United States will change history,” Netanyahu said. “In Operation Rising Lion, Israel has done truly amazing things. But in tonight’s action against Iran’s nuclear facilities, America has been truly unsurpassed. It has done what no other country on earth could do. History will record that President Trump acted to deny the world’s most dangerous regime the world’s most dangerous weapons.” https://www.aljazeera.com |
Mankind2024:Still curious to know how they had successfully done the evacuation without sparking suspicion from the ever nosy satellites of several antagonistic nations, yet openly brag few minutes later that they have previously evacuated the items. |
destinychildolu:Don't tell me you'd believe that, do you really? Just saying, if I were to be Iran, why would I expose my joker by mocking my adversaries who want my downfall, to know that I still have that arsenal? I will rather keep quiet and let my enemies rejoice that they've gotten what they wanted. Only for me to reawaken without they knowing. |
givedemwotowoto:If you asked me, I will say, I never thought US will strike. DT can't be underestimated, his faculty works in ways one may want to dismiss but consequential. Iran should better just call a truce....before Ayatollah goes down. Whichever way one looks at this, there have been immense damages on both sides. |
Staccato001:This is really getting serious. One was thinking Trump's statements all along was just to make Iran capitulate to agreement, but with this ![]() |
US President Donald Trump says American forces have conducted “very successful” strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan and that all US planes are now out of Iranian airspace. Israel’s attacks on Iran continue, with Israeli forces targeting military facilities and nuclear sites. Earlier, Iran launched dozens of drones towards Israel. Trump has publicly rebuked his director of national intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, saying she was wrong to state there was no evidence Iran is building a nuclear weapon. Iran says more than 400 people have been killed and at least 3,056 others wounded since Israel launched its attack on June 13. In Israel, at least 24 people have been killed in Iranian strikes. https://www.aljazeera.com/live |
This is so disheartening. The driver's thoughtlessness knowing he is carrying his children in same vehicle, led to this. He could have just stopped, this is avoidable. Nigerian police and other law enforcement agencies see criminals first before common sense and will shoot at slightest provocation. He shot at a vehicle in such long distance with hot chase on a busy road. Of course, his colleagues are all chastising him of having shot at the vehicle. This is so unfortunate. May this little boy find rest in God's bosom. |
This is lovely to hear. At least it shows he wasn't under duress to also make the video.....he looked quite composed and calm. |
jmoore:Nope! The security detail is a Chinese wearing Nigerian police uniform. ![]() |
Each time people draw inference on EU and US, one wonders if those climes aren't even doing things worse than we are having here. You want to talk about present day US administration that has been flouting all series of laws! |

lexy2014:In your own opinion Sha....that guy could be 21 but not all 21 yrs old are off the cord of dependency on their parents. So he understands that he wasn't ready and he took a wrong decision. Still boils to ignorant.. Period |
lexy2014:Haba Lexy! Tell me it wasn't bad parenting that could have culminated to that guy's present position. The Bible says "Teach your child the right way to follow and when he grows he shall not depart from it! Even the Qur'an also support good parenting. There's a popular saying that " Ti o ba to ready, o gbodo re idi"! Meaning that don't sleep around with the other sex when things aren't ready for you. Isn it obvious that he ignorantly gave that girl the supposed concoction that terminated her life now ![]() |
Look at where bad parenting plus ignorance could lead a child. This is a boy that should be in a vocational training or school. He ignorantly slept with the young girl without precautions. He ignorantly thought of abortion in a crude method and package which terminated the poor girl's life. He's ignorantly going to prison for God's knows-when duration. Such a case for ignorance!! |
Wow! Well if they aren't caught with human parts, I think they haven't broken the law. Except if that community is now practising Mosaic law as can be seen in Sharia Kano, and that being the case, it should have been announced well ahead of time that it's no longer holding allegiance to Nigeria's religious law section, if not, Nigeria is still a secular state. There is acceptance for other religions in the Constitution. |
jaykay68:Nothing do you....Seun must have noted already if that wasn't intentional he will edit. However, something tells me that it's a way yof distraction l to sieve the number of applicants as many will still be wondering why he hasn't edited and the smart applicants would have submitted between this night and tomorrow already. Cheers Bro Modified: He just edited the mistake...it's all good. No one is infallible. |
Maj196:Nna eeehn, wetin dey Naija now is enough distraction, no one is immune. |
jaykay68:It's surely a typo error. I think he meant 1st Dec as this is coming on the 29th of this month being today. He should edit |
This is a good news of relief to job seekers in these fields. And they're sure to serve in a prestigious academic environment that have value for it's Staff and Students. |
It's a pity that you allowed sentiment becloud you from doing some due findings about your would-be business partner, the risk involved and other template before going ahead to forward the capital. We all learn everyday no doubt. On the dilemma of using either Police or OSPAC, I would say you should go for Police. OSPAC ain't legal and there was even a time their activities were proscribed. OSPAC 'might' get you some reach, but their method is crude and deadly. Supposing after reporting to them you eventually lose a hold on their leash and which definitely you can't handle because they have their method and someone dies in the process maybe your father-in-law or even a family member of the man who eloped You will all (including the OSPAC team) be in reckoning with the law and particularly you who went patronizing an illegal outfit over equally illegal failed business dealings.Police is better, however you will have to first ensure you're linked up with a senior officer or even someone from other sister agencies, then they can work with the Police to wade into the matter. I'm sure you have the man's phone number and your father-in-law to-be should also know one or more things about the man's family or other related individuals. Again, I have the feeling that the man himself might have entered into trouble waters as regards that business. This is a brisk trade around Rivers and Bayelsa but highly risky and all eyes are into it. He might have been apprehended by some NSCDC/Police officials and the product seized or even duped by fake dealers. So instead of him coming out, he probably feared the worst and bolted. My thought though because I know how that business can easily get one's fingers burnt badly. Just ensure you employ legal means to track him out and hear his story first before taking any rash action in recovery of your investment. |
Brutal in face and in act! Choi! She must be a darling wife/consort and trusted ally to one of those bandits commanders. As can be seen, her capacity to deliver was never put to question or doubt hence she was entrusted with the delivery of a whooping 991 ammunitions to the gang. |
Funny enough some will think this lady is merely catching cruise, you're on a long thing Most repercussive submissions are laid via mild emphasis and not by spitting fire. She has spoken and what you see is what you get. |
Wow |
heartbeat84:You're the real Heartbeat! God bless you. |
This is highly commendable. Only an appreciative heart draws distinction from where he/she is coming from to the present place where he/she now found oneself vice-versa and thus show cause to deeply appreciate. We could argue all year long that "govt blabla was the major cause of the girl's death" and all narratives, let not forget that many have been wantonly killed by same Govt's order through the barrel of the gun or other unjustified methods 'yet not even a condolence from same govt's officials sent to grieving families. This has happened in many states and regions and still happening. When a particular person in leadership role has an humane face, demeanors and responsive mien which aren't common in this modern political era, then one should encourage such uncommon gesture irrespective of sentimental calculations a la party, religion, ethnic nor destructive criticism and regional jingoism. These are partly reasons "not sole reasons" why some elected leaders will simply not care nor show empathy when they are expected to because they will want to fore-guess what people will probably term their gestures 'political reasons' and whatnot, thereby failing to seize the opportunity to sway several tender hearts irrespective of any opposing public based opinion. Like some said...We deserve the leaders we get! Can the Governor do better? YES!!! I read where it's stated that it's temporary measure. For the quickfingers trigger-happy killers in uniforms, judicial trials and convictions shouldn't be spared on them. Such are not only responsible for the irreplaceable lives but also the cause of the depletion to the commonwealth that should have been used elsewhere but now serves as compensation to victims families. The FG needed to be accountable in all of its unpopular directives. It is a must to genuinely reorganize, reorientate and restructure the security architecture and apparatus. You can't send securities to civil and peaceful gatherings on strict orders with live ammunitions, they kill and terribly assault people, they're left untouched as if nothing happened thereby leaving states to clean up their mess. FG must start to be taken to account over all these, else extrajudicial and stray killings will persist. |
excellence44:Wow! Your observance and detailing is enviable! Bravo amigo! This is so cool. Thank goodness that she couldn't hide forever. Justice for that grieving family at last. |
If this news is True, then it's easy to discern the body language of IPOB over the past few days now since the highly militarised procession of the security agents came into play...kind of 'if you can't beat them, join them' . Kudos though! There are more than one way to make your voice heard rather than self inflicted violence which is definitely not the smartest way to bravery. Let peace reign and let discourse take the center stage. |
