Explorers: 21. The Self Appendectomy.
It happened during 6th Soviet Antarctic Expedition at Novolazarevskaya Station. The patient "Leonid Rogozov" was the only physician on station, so the assistant was a mechanic. It was on April 30, 1961. The operation took 2 hours. He positioned himself so that he could see his own body using a mirror when doing the surgery, he made a 12 cm cut through which he found and removed the appendix. After 5 days the doctor felt good, and after 7 days he removed the wires which had been used to sew up the body.

If you have any reason(s) whatsoever to suspect you are being scammed, then by all means, be careful.
Who connected to the other on facebook? I mean was he the one who sent the friend request? Ask some questions only that friend of yours could have known. Scammers sometimes pose as long lost friends, colleague or even family.
And you should remember that the easiest way to be a prey is to appear desperate. |

Those that are goading him on are not telling him about the potential jail time if he refuses to tap out... His alleged offense is not criminal. There is no 'potential' jail term involved, no clemency needed. |

omenka: Wow!!! If this is true, then besides the giant leadership strides the pint sized governor has made since he got into office which make me admire and respect him so much, this is an added bonus. This guy is indeed the best Governor in Nigeria- even anti corruption wise.
Not some nutcasses that is only ardent at buying Egwusi and bitterleaf, and gallivanting around his state on Okada while shouting from rooftops that he "knows where Buhari hides his loot" without an ounce of evidence to validate his assertion.
God bless Rufai!!!
By the way, is it against the law for a citizen to make evidence in their possession available to a court of competent jurisdiction for the prosecution of a criminal?? Shooo. This is same way we hailed Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in the early days of his administration of Osun State. The 'best governor in Nigeria' part is a tad too early. |

I thought the excuse for the list of appointees so far is 'Merit'. If this is so, why can we not have the Deputy Chief of Staff (Lawal), a SAN and Lagosian, and still have Chief of Staff (Fashola), a SAN & Lagosian. Why claim merit where it suits aim, yet turn around to use Federal Character as guise to out-play a candidate with the merit. The party really needs to define what yardstick they intend to build principles on. Merit or Federal character? |

Continue to dey cry My curiosity, isn't this part of the bigger reason everybody wanted Jonathan out? Are you insinuating it is okay for Buhari to tow the same wrong path just because someone once did? Or because one criminal robbed a person and went free, another criminal should rob the person expecting to go scot free? Or people should fold hands and say "it was good for the first criminal should be good for this?" Or after he is nabbed, he demands the court to set him free and validate his wrong doing because an earlier incidence went unpunished? Not good for our sanity as a nation tho :-/ Jonathan may have gone wrong, Buhari is wrong to want to toe same line. 'Two wrongs' don't make any one of them right. Plus, your logic here may be lending credence to the allegations that Buhari is ultimately vindictive. |

Its a natural law that the strongest survive. Its basic evolution principles. For the world to have evolved to this stage, the weak genes are dropped off along the line, in time. So only the finest breeds survive. I think you will do much service to the depressed that you feel so strongly about by taking time into psychology and philosophy yourself. Perhaps, the depressed and those contemplating suicide do not understand the powerful advice behind "the man, the donkey and the son". Seek the song and consider the dynamics of that tale. #DontLetTheWorldFuckWithYourMind. |

fretnot: Who knows what his mother might have put him through. Some mothers without knowing it can make their children feel so inadequate, especially when they are never tired of comparing you to their friends or neighbours children who are doing well.
Still that does not excuse suicide though. Until I saw your post, nobody has asked questions about this mother of his. Some mothers are direct from the pits of hell! She may have unleashed very cruel, overbearing, savagely and at the base least, indecent and unjust expectations on the gentle soul that couldn't handle such. That letter leaves an everlasting scar on that woman, apparently and according to the letter, she being the cause of his death. Poor child. He is dead, let him rest in peace. And let the mother bury her dead. Yet, on mothers' day everybody flings the cliche of how blessed 'all' mothers are. *i can wozz that woman slap if I hear her cry |
