[s] tete7000: To add more: is it not immoral also to allow a coup plotter, someone who toupled a democratically elected government to partake in a democratic system and become a president? Finally Americans don't need Iraqi oil so they can level Iraq, Nigeria needs Niger Delta oil. Please also note that America has not totally won the war in Iraq. Part of the country, infact more than a third of it is currently governed by ISIS and ISIS controls the oil in those region. [/s] Couldn't even answer a single question you have been confounded oya go and recieve... Absence of sense is written all over your post. Bye and desist from spamming my mentions with your oil bunkering scam. If Us invaded a country obliterated its army and built a new army in its stead then your oil bunkerers can and will never be a threat to Nigeria. |

Obviously it is better govt building it capacity to enforce the law than pay criminal rapist not to violate law. I stand with law and order not bending to thieves murderers and rapists. [s] paschu: It beats me how fools keep celeberating their foolishness as smartness. The govt. that gave them the contract was not looking for folks to dash money. Please let this sink into your skull for good - the idea of the impoverised indigenous survillence contracts (no mattar how unconventional it was) was to guarantee peace and security of oil facilites in the ND area - and we all enjoyed that peace and security in ND for 7 years.
Now you have removed those "silly contracts" in your smartness, how come peace is now eluding us?
Bible says that the path of wisdom is full of peace and pleasantness.
In other words, if your policy is not breeding peace where you NEED it that's a sure biblical proof that you are not yet wise enough. It does not matter if you think you are the best thing that had ever happened to humanity since aristotle. [/s] Don't cry Listen to baby don't cry. by 2pac |

Politics › 5 Years On Post Elections Violence Still Being Compensated by Stalwert(op): 11:13am On May 07, 2016 |
Reading through the budget you come accross N2.5B for victims of Post elections violence in 2011. This invokes mix feelings in me while one part of me is joyed that those who suffered the unacceptable violence are being take care of another part of me is disturb that even after 5 years the victims are still being compensated. A compensation that should have been done within 1 year of of the violence.
I know people personally who suffered huge loss only surviving with the clothes on their backs.
Thus once again GEJ showed at a time of high oil prices he couldn't even spare something for people who likely supported him and blindly still do. Jonathan only remembered this people when he was looking for their votes in 2015 yet he still failed to pay them their dues. My prayer and hope is this compensation is paid immediately and to those rightly deserving it.

The truth is that 2015 budget was signed on 10th May, 2016 and Buhari was sworn in on 29th of the same May, 2016 and this very capital budget was sparingly implemented.

[s] paschu: So the govt. that awarded the contracts were fools, right? I guess you are now seeing the results of your sound reasoning? The cancelation of those contracts just goes to show that govt. is not serious about taking nigeria off the zone of oil dependency. If they were truly honest about diversification they would do EVERYTHING to maintain peace in the ND until all other sectors of national economy kick off and become sustainable.
If a few individuals (as you think) could guarantee peace in that region it's foolish to disengage them when you still DEPEND solely on their region for your very survival and has no alternative means to effective security and peace. paschu: You got it wrong.
Problem started when their contracts to secure the pipelines got terminated. Unfortunately the national cost of crisis in that area is way higher than the cost of their survilence. But our ogas at the top are too arrogantsturbon to thread the path of peace. If they truly wanted to diversify the economy they should have mentained peace in ND until other sectors of the economy are made to takeover from oil. But.... Your view is saddening so a few criminals share security money that can better be used to help the generality of nd people and increase our military capabilities is what you insist is the path to peace? I dont understand how anyone defends criminality you hardly benefit from. |
