One major gain of the Jonathan administration being eroded by PMB |
Bode George should follow as well. Meanwhile, nice one Shadow Cabinet of Nigeria. Way to go |
The Senate on Wednesday said it was yet to receive the ministerial list from the Presidency. Reports were rife that President Muhammadu Buhari had concluded work on the list and sent it to the Senate for the screening of the nominees. However, as at the close of plenary on Wednesday, the names of the nominees were not read out. The spokesperson of the Senate, Senator Dino Melaye, said the ministerial list was yet to be received by the Red Chamber. Melaye said there was no need for agitation as the deadline given by Buhari, the end of September, was still hours away. He promised that the Senate will conduct proper screening of the nominees, adding that those with moral issues will not be cleared. The Senate has adjourned till Tuesday. http://theeagleonline.com.ng/were-yet-to-get-ministerial-list-senate/ |
Dosinspector:Kiaaa..This change bad |
hinwazaka:Bless you |
dustmalik:How sure are you that the senate have the list? |
ki02020:The senate has stated in the past that Saraki issue would not delay the ministerial screening if they got the list from the presidency |
President Muhammadu Buhari on September 7th in Aburi, Ghana said and I quote: “After I was sworn in, I said I WILL have my CABINET in September. I expect that Nigerians should ask me questions after the 30th of September if I do not do so.”He stated that in response to a question on the appointment of ministers. President Buhari clearly stated that he would HAVE his cabinet on or before September ending and not that he would send the ministerial list to Senate for approval. So unless the Senate would receive the ministerial list today and approve the list today, Buhari has already failed in his promise of getting his cabinet before the end of September. This says a lot about the integrity of the one and only Nigerian "Saint" that he cannot keep to his own words Anyway, I'm waiting for the excuse or the person the #LyingLiers would blame, maybe the typist, or Saraki CCT issue or one white lie this time May God bless Nigeria |

Mr President sir, I am writing this with a true Nigerian heart, a heart that is after a better Nigeria and without any form of sentiment. As such, I would be bluntly honest with a clear conscience without fear or favour. Mr President, I would begin by saying you have won a couple of new supporters but also you are losing some of your supporters fast even before you got started. I don't want to join the charade of people saying your body language has make things better especially electricity supply, which I must say has drastically improved within the last two months but some things have given a lot of people a cause for concern. There was the infamous goofing on the 5% and 97% issue in America. That was very unpresidential. Even if that was how you felt, you should never have utter such. Onto the Asset declaration sir, I want to believe the CCB is still doing the needful and would release the actual form containing everything in details as was done by late Umaru Musa Yaradua. (May His Soul Rest in Peace). That statement by Alhaji Shehu Garba cannot be termed and seen as assets declaration. It beats every commonsensical idea of what assets declaration should be. Mr President sir, there have also been the case of denial of promises from your spokesmen directing the promises to your party and your party through Alhaji Lai Mohammed also denying the different promises on which many Nigerians voted you. Things like that make your supporters lose their trust in you. Some people voted you based on different premises. Some were based on the fact that they would be receiving 5,000 naira monthly, others were on feeding of school pupils and even a greater number on the fact that you and the APC would do things differently from the PDP, hence the APC campaign slogan was based on CHANGE. But that CHANGE in many instances have not been seen or felt. The DSS for example still look like a political tool to torment perceived political enemies. We saw how the DSS has operated in Rivers and Akwa Ibom State. Also sir, more Nigerians voted you after noting the state of affairs under PDP. The economy we were told would have crashed had PDP continued in power. Nigerians have heard all these and don't want to keep hearing it over and over. You were voted in to right the wrong. So the almost everyday blame game by members of the presidency and your party is not what Nigerians need at the moment. This is not the best time to condemn previous administrations but the time to build structures for a greater Nigeria and build on some of the achievements of the previous governments So pull your sleeves up sir and get down to the serious work of governance. Act and stop giving excuses, make use of the resources at your disposal to bring hope to the hopeless and give the citizens an opportunity to believe in a brighter Nigeria once again. A brighter and better Nigeria were there are jobs, social amenities are in place and economy is working. There is serious poverty in Nigeria. A recent UN study point to the fact that over 65% Nigerians live below $1. That means a great majority of Nigerians are not sure if they would eat anything when they wake up in the morning. All these are reasons why I want you to dedicate your efforts to work and delivering the dividends of democracy instead of the blame games that have characterised your tenure so far. The Boko Haram menace seem to be the same. One would have thought that your experience as a retired General would have made the issue of Boko Haram a forgotten topic by now, especially when you promised to end Boko Haram in two months. It is on record that over 1000 Nigerians have lost their lives within the last 100 days. We cannot afford more lose of lives. You definitely need to do more to end Boko Haram. I know you have made efforts, even as far as meeting our neighbouring countries for help and assistance, which you were noted to have been against in the past before assuming office but please do more to end Boko Haram once and for all. Still on the security issue, the recent killings of farmers attributed to Fulani herdsmen is extremely troublesome. I want to implore you to take drastic actions to put an end to the killings before it degenerate into something else. Nigeria cannot afford another insurgent group at this critical point of our nation. Mr President, I wouldn't conclude this letter to you without touching on the issue of your appointments. To be bluntly honest with you, they have been extremely lopsided to favour a certain part of the country. Anyway we look at it, I still believe that competent and trustworthy persons can be found in all parts of the country. You are a father to all citizens of the country whether they voted for you or not. Remember you were voted in the most divisive election ever in the history of Nigeria. It should not be a case of winner takes all. You're the president of Nigeria which encompasses all citizens irrespective of political affiliation and not the president of a section of the country. Your policy direction has left much to be desired. 100 days after, there have been no economic team to chart the direction the economy would go. Billions of naira are been lost daily as the economic uncertainty continues. 100 days after, we are yet to have ministers. I understand you may not want to be bludgeoned into making frenetic ministerial appointments but 100 days after your assumption of office is more than enough time to have selected and screen ministerial candidates Don't be deceived by people around you who might be saying the country can go on without ministers, that the permanent Secretaries can do the work. There is a limit to their duties and power and the constitution is very clear on that. Mr President sir, I must commend your stand and strong commitment in the fight against corruption and prosecution of looters of our common wealth, but sir, words alone cannot fight corruption. Actions will go a longer way and not the current method of anti corruption campaign which has been just noise on TV and radio stations and on the pages of newspapers. But sir, please note that fighting corruption in a civilian government is far different from that of a military government. Laid down rules and regulations must be adhered. Instead of thinking of appointing special judges, please strengthen institutions and focus on getting the National Assembly to pass effective laws that will deter corrupt practices Remember that jailing of corrupt persons can only be done by the law courts and not at your discretion. Finally sir, please beware of political sycophants who are ever ready to deceive and distract your government; who will always paint a false scene of economic progress just to gain political appointments and recognition. At the moment, I still rate you low after 100 days but I hope that you prove me wrong with time in anticipation of a better and working Nigeria. There is a popular Yoruba proverb which literally translate to "You can predict how the evening would be with the way the morning starts". Some of the Buharists have been on my wall always trying to tell me that President Buhari administration has been on for just about two months, that i should not hold him accountable yet. They seem to have forgotten that PMB made a whole lot of promises and I'm only judging Buhari base on his promises. I have no personal vendetta against him. Look at the issue of Boko Haram for example. In about 2 months of Buhari's administration, over 700 hundred innocent Nigerians have been slaughtered. Note that the 700+ is the official number we were told and knowing how things work in Nigeria, I won't be surprised if the exact figure is well over 2000. If such number can be killed in just over 7 weeks under Buhari, multiply that number by 4 years. President Buhari need to do something and do it fast. These daily killings has become a great course of concern. This was the same Boko Haram that GEJ pushed to the fringes of the Sambisa forest, why didn't Buhari maintain that tempo? Why allow the terrorists regroup and re-strategize and become this blood tasty and ferocious overnight? Is Buhari's body language really encouraging Boko Haram? I'm really concerned about the daily killings as a result of this group. Fertilizers which farmers were getting for almost free under Goodluck Jonathan is now over N7000. There is no Agricultural Minister. Agricultural reforms that were lauded under GEJ seem to have been abandoned. Food prices are now high. Tomatoes and fresh pepper has become Gold overnight. A kilo of chicken that I bought as low as N750 in April is now selling between 900 and 1200 Naira across the country. The GEJ's Agricultural Transformation was lauded even by the APC, so what's happening all of a sudden? I would have assumed PMB's tenure would continue from where he stopped since government is continuous. If you follow Business news, you would have seen the Stock market is losing billions. Stocks are crashing. The Naira is on a free fall. PMB unilaterally dips his hand into our coffers to share over 800B to Governors. Investors are losing confidence in Nigeria. A dollar is now equivalent to 240 naira. Stock market loses over 60B in few days. The banks are losing investments, they might soon start sacking and dropping workers. Foreign investors are skeptical about our economy at the moment. No one seem to know or understand the direction of the economy or what economic policy Buhari would use. The price of various commodities are skyrocketing. This is not funny. The Buharists should wake up. Please sit down and think about what's really happening. Are we moving forward at the moment or retrogressing? Do Buhari really know what he's doing? Can we trust the CHANGE the APC promised knowing full well that change could either be positive or negative? I love Nigeria as much as you all claim, so no one should come and start accusing me of wishing Buhari to fail. I'm just concerned. May God Bless Nigeria. © Oke Umurhohwo. source: https://talkingstalyf./2015/07/17/are-we-progressing-or-retrogressing-under-buhari/ |

The Lagos West Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party at the just concluded March 28th and 29th National Assembly Elections, Segun Adewale popularly known as Aeroland wrote on his Facebook page: It is disheartening to know that efforts to correct the anomalies during the last general elections may be jeopardised by the uncooperative moves of INEC. I would like to call on the Chief Justice of Nigeria and all well meaning Nigerians by asking what a responsible citizen like my humble self should do in reclaiming my mandate after taking all legal steps and there is still a sabotage of efforts. According to the results collated from agents across polling units across the Senatorial district during the elections, I was clearly the winner of the election. Surprisingly, the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner. Though the elections petitions tribunal has since been approached to make things right, INEC has worked tirelessly to ensure that the case doesn’t see the light of the day by denying the case the certified true copies of results. It should be noted that the electoral officers of the following local governments; Mushin, Alimosho, Agege and Ifako-Ijaiye have complicated the case having failed to produce the certified true copies (CTC) of results from their respective local governments. These were notably the hot zones for electoral malpractices during the election. The INEC have produced just about a fraction of the documents needed with the case still ongoing which includes results written on paper sheets and not on form EC8A series, production of results for polling units where elections did not hold amongst others. Recently, it was brought to my attention the stealing of some vital exhibits by a legal representative of the APC in connivance with some judiciary workers to forestall the Tribunal proceedings. These and more have brought me to ask Nigerians how a responsible citizen should seek redress and also call on the Chief Justice of the Federation, Mahmud Mohammed to look into this case very carefully. If indeed we are in the era of “CHANGE” in this country, INEC must be independent and the courts must allow justice to prevail. Presidents Obasanjo, Yaradua to Jonathan were all leaders of the party. No contest. Lai Mohammed couldn't attribute that to PMB. Shame... |
