Other info from the research show that Top 10 brands accounted for 76% of the smartphone volumes in Q1 2018. Meanwhile, Nokia HMD, iTel, Xiaomi, Tecno, OnePlus and Huawei were the noted brands in the fastest growing category. OPPO, vivo, Samsung in the top 10 smartphone category reported declines in Q1 2018. itel entered the top 10 smartphone market for the first time, together the three smartphone brands of Transsion holdings (Tecno, iTel and Infinix) accounted for over 10 million smartphones shipped in Q1 2018. |
Randerl:Wo are the we and what is your statistical basis? |
itel Mobile is pulling surprises on everybody these days. You will remember how the brand upset the dynamics of the African mobile phone market by becoming the largest mobile phone brand on the continent. That was made possible because of itel’s feature phones, which have been selling in droves. But apparently, itel smartphones have been selling in large numbers too. According to Counterpoint research, itel entered the global top 10 smartphone market for the first time in Q1 2018. https://www.counterpointresearch.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Q2-2018.png Surprise! Surprise!! We double-checked. You know, this could be the agggregated figures for TECNO, Infinix and itel combined that occupied that spot in the top 10 chart. So, double-checked. The press release from Counterpoint says it is itel alone that made it to the chart. itel Smartphones Outsell TECNO and Infinix. That is the implication; right? If itel is on that top chart and its other two Transsion siblings are not there, then it is selling more devices than those two. It is also listed in the fastest growing category. Which makes sense. Others in that category are Nokia HMD, Xiaomi, TECNO, OnePlus and Huawei. The Top 10 Chart Q1 2018 Samsung Apple Huawei Xiaomi OPPO vivo LG Lenovo/Motorola ZTE itel itel is in 10th place. Not bad. According to Counterpoint, the brand grew smartphone shipments over 200% year-on-year from Q1 2017 to Q1 2018. Yes; itel smartphones are definitely selling in droves. What of Transsion’s other brands? The only other mention of them is that all together, the three sister brands (TECNO, Infinix and itel) shipped over 10 million smartphones in Q1 2018. itel Started Poor But kept Improving The first generation of itel smartphones did not get good reception, and that was because of the poor experience that users had with them. Our first itel smartphone review on MobilityArena was the itel iNote Beyond 3G review in 2014. Mister Mo concluded by saying that it was a crippled device. It has 80 comments, most of them bitter complaints from users who were frustrated with the device. But itel kept improving over the years and the phones got better and better. We have reviewed several itel smartphones and most of them left us with very good impressions. You can have a look at our archives of itel smartphone review. Indeed, the stone that the builders rejected looks set to become the chief cornerstone. But then, Mister Mobility has repeatedly insisted that the bottom of the pyramid, which itel services, is where much of the action will be, going forward. Tallesty1:LMAO. You are not nice |
itel is still a king when it comes to feature phones |
Latest Research from Counterpoint’s Handset Tracker – Q1 2018 show that the global feature phone market grew 38% annually in Q1 2018. Reliance JioPhone became the best-selling feature phone model in Q1 2018, Jio was also the best-selling feature phone brand in Q1 2018. It was followed by Nokia HMD, itel, Samsung and Tecno which formed the list of the top five brands. However, in terms of specify models, three of the top five global selling feature phones are itel - itel 2180, itel 2130 and itel 5231. Why are feature phones still around? There are still around half a billion feature phones sold every year and these continue to serve the needs of the roughly two billion feature phones users globally. This is still a huge market catering to a diverse user base, many of whom still prefer feature phones over smartphones. The reasons for this loyalty to feature phones are as diverse as the user base, but include reasons like: Preference for simplicity Lighter, robust form-factors Longer battery life Lower cost Some feature phone users also suffer from digital, economic or literacy divides and face barriers to adopt relatively expensive smartphones and data plans. In addition, this preference also stems from the fact that low-cost smartphones tend to offer poor performance and poor quality. Feature phone segment still has huge opportunity that remains to be exploited by the mobile industry. Source: http://www.techsyrub.com.ng/2018/05/three-of-top-5-selling-feature-phones.html |

Conclusion itel A32F sport all the beauty of a budget phone in its category and it has the features you will like to have on a smartphone. Far from this, the itel A32F is the most affordable device I have ever seen with such amazing features.
