Na lie. They can still come back home, enter school and finish their degree which can give them leverage to start a career.
You mean a career as political praise singers or as thugs who work with police to divert voters and votes?

Some of them may need to come home to rearrange their life.
Nothing is "arrangeable" here.

How sure are you if they see free air ticket they won't return back to Nigeria?
Simply reporting to canadians authorities will earn them that. They havent because they fear ending up at their starting point.

You guys are funny o. I see people living the best of their lives.. U really wanna see what Nigerians are going thru? Locate any federal university and check out their hostels with people in it..
Thank you. They are only seeing the humilating angle of it just to implicitly score cheap political goals that "Nigeria isnt that bad afterall".

I hope you wont blame this on the Government.
I blame the govt. These guys are potential forex remitters and it is sad govt cant rise beyond political interest to assist them in their time of need seeing that they can still contribute to the growth of their fatherland from afar. Petrodollar is dwindling per capital terms and it takes and irredeemable economically blind politician no to see the potential these ones who have crossed over have.

People abroad too were citizens here and are still.

Yeshua once asked if anyone would decide to build a mansion first before making all needed calculations in cost and materials. I understand Life didnt go as planned for them, but its partly their fault

This info is useless to us. Life will take care of them
Some have wacky skills and just empty bookworms. Anyone going over there should be equipped with minimum of three sellable skills.

The fact that they are not contemplating coming back to be under your paymasters is damning evidence of failure. Keep shut.

Or didnt you read where they said some underestimated cost of living? Thats partially because to currency back home is useless.

We all know that figure of 70 million is a terrible lie ahead of a small exercise.
If the govt will pay into people's account according to the "propagandrous" headline & target, good, otherwise, i go with OP fully.

Na wa..similar thing happened to me around 2011 while travelling along benin ore express way with cross country bus....bikeman indicated about a robbery ahead but the driver kept going ...until we sighted the armed men ahead and a front seat passenger gave the driver a dirty slap. Baba had to do a 360 that nearly somersaulted the bus.
Benin Ore road is a place where the bike men and onlookers confuse traveller by making them stop. They make them stop with false alarm about danger ahead or within the vehicle. Maybe that played a role.
PoliticsRe: Don’t Japa, Countries You’re Running To Were Built By People’ – GEJ To Nigerians by Standing5(m): 5:42pm On Jan 19, 2025
Those countries don't stifle productive minds while elevating crooked but secret group loyal ones. Imagine having to submit your VAT to a state that prevent the consumption of what you produce or that treats you as an inferior citizen based on religious grounds. If you are hot and competent on a global level, disregard this politically correct talk and Japa if you have to. At least your remittances will impact your people & community far more than your natural resources or land that has been plundered by a strange people with a dangerously cataclysmic sense of religious superiority.

PoliticsRe: Which Policy Is Best For Nigeria, Monetary Expansion Or Supply-side Economics? by Standing5(m): 3:02pm On Jan 19, 2025
There are two main strategies they can use, like two different tools in a toolbox:

Tool 1: Printing Money (Monetary Expansion)
Printing money is never a solution and has been overdone already.

there was inflation before subsidy removal and floating of Naira.

inflation is a summation of the failings of every other sector. From judiciary to bureaucracy to power to education to security n order to infrastructure and even structures.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Joins BRICS: What’s In It For The Nation? by Standing5(m): 9:28am On Jan 19, 2025
Our issues are largely internal ones so changing partners wont do us any real good.
The West weren't the ones who made us reject a sensible VAT sharing formula. They are not the ones running two constitutions within one country in favour of muslims. They dont do the actual looting for us neither. They are not stopping us from building important industries and sectors up.
PoliticsRe: Petrol Price Hike: Queues Resurface At Filling Stations by Standing5(m): 8:28am On Jan 19, 2025
Many filling stations in Lagos, Ogun, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, among others, were closed on Saturday, as dealers explained that they were monitoring developments to make adequate price adjustments.
What useless development are they monitoring when they know the depot prices already. This is the sort of unionism that has turned Nigeria into a buying-n-selling republic. Almost zero production. With this move, they have created a shortage in supply(scarcity) and set the prices on an upward trajectory they can come back to capitalize on.

PoliticsRe: Taiwo Oyedele: We Have No Objection To Governors’ Proposed VAT Sharing Formula by Standing5(m):
Instead of using the population as a reduction factor so populous states can try to be more productive, they are paying them for having idle & unproductive populations. Derivation should be 50% minimum to encourage production. Population should be 0%. Anything different from this will bring about harsh business environment to the industries by locals. They will use state laws to frustrate the industries and compensate themselves irrespective of what FG accepts.
Owo mida menace is just beginning the if this formula is retained.
