The likes of Rano , Young Alhaji ...who smuggle PMS out of Nigeria via northern bother are reasons Dangote Refinery will want to sell at normal rate to Nigerians ... They would be deceiving you with cheap price cos they knw where they are getting back their money , they are sabotaging the govt efforts and economy... Nigeria is 95 percent dependent on fuel , as such increasong the price would cause severe hardship for the citizens... So bad , may God help our leaders tommake the right choice . Rano can't do that. You are speaking high grammar...!
This means nothing to over 100 Million working and suffering Nigerians!
If you want this to work, it has to be mitigated as much as possible!
Matter of fact, you are supposed to start by halving and cutting down drastically all government expenditures across arms of government especially Executive and Judiciary!
You want the citizens to pay for such a needed policy with their blood and tears while politicians continue to live like kings!!!
Labor is merely doing the needful!!!... They should have sat with them and ironed out such gray areas before even announcing the removal!
When you don't carry Labor along in such a critical economic move, you create such avoidable crisis. Well said. Employing twenty thousand guards to be paid N75k each comes to N20B a year and less than what we spend on subsidy in two days. Before removing it they said the subsidy wasnt benefitting the masses again and that the smuggling was far more than actual local consumption but after removing the subsidy they are now saying only 30% will be affected. That means they plan to inflate the actual figure for more corruption. |

Some are even supporting the subsidy removal on the naive thinking that the money realized will be channeled to developing the country!! Wake up foolish Nigerians. I know you don't want to hear this but the truth is that these monies will be looted and we will be back to square one.
And if you think this government will not be more corrupt than the previous one, then you must be a profound idiot! Well, the subsidy removal doesn't affect our business atall! You remove it, we increase the pump price and no idiot can stop us. Some deluded Nigerians even think the government will regulate the price for us many are in the kingdom of Satan because of the hope that it will favour themselves. 1 Like |

Redman44: Very soon, your children might not be able to eat 50 naira chin chin again. 50 naira biscuits and chinchin might become a thing of the past if care is not taken in Nigeria. If flour prices increase again due to fuel subsidy removal, bread will become unaffordable for many Nigerians. Start praying that fuel price will reduce to at least 300 naira. Cheers. Flour may increase but not too much. The Ukrainian invasion sent it high and that's understandable but cost of transporting it is marginal and not that heavy. |

nairalanda1:
As a businessman, would you allow government to set your prices so that they can 'help the poor'? Govt never set any price for anyone. What happened with petrol subsidy was a case of the govt picking a price and paying you what ever difference is between theirs and your final price as an importer. The subsidy was being paid as claimed by marketers. Govt never forced anyone to sell at a loss. What the marketers wanted was the space to make claims for bogus profits and when that didn't materialize, smuggling out to sell at higher prices than govt subsidized rate within Nigeria was the only option. That's why Buhari tried to make NNPC the sole importer of fuel or force any other importer to not claim they are bringing in their above NNPC's imported fuel price. Stop lying around dude. 5 Likes |
